We had a nice 3 night stay at this cottage. It was comfortable and the AC worked great (it was hot that week). The lake is clean and we had the beach to ourselves the first day. The one major downfall was that the kayaks are not at the beach. In all the online photos the only kayak pic is at the beach on kayak storage racks, leading one to believe they are kept at the beach. This was a big reason I booked this location, only to discover the kayaks are at the house and it's not easy to get them to the beach (or back, since that's uphill). The owner was responsive and dropped off a couple kayak dollies which helped but still frustrating as I feel the listing was purposely misleading. The rest of the visit was lovely and enjoyable. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and the neighbors are nice. We enjoyed ice cream from the UConn dairy bar, had fun playing mini golf nearby, and mostly just enjoyed relaxing on the beach. The lake is really shallow which makes it great for kids!

Cute cottage that fit our needs. The lake is beautiful and close by. Kitchen was great. However, we had issues 2 nights in a row with chirping smoke alarms and finally got a new battery to fix the issue ourself. Was not happy with the manager not getting it fixed sooner. Also, the bikes were not as shown on the picture and we were not able to ride them since they were rusty, low tires, and had 2 children's bikes (we were all adults). That was a real disappointment since we wanted to ride. Overall, it's a cute property in a great location and wonderful yard, but there were some issues during our stay.

This rental does have the quirks of a small, older property, but is very well appointed in terms of cleanliness and amenities. We were particularly impressed with the quality of the towels and dishware as well as the newer washer/dryer, and enjoyed using the kitchen and the board games. We were there in wintertime, so did not get to enjoy the lake's beach or water sport options, but can see how they'd be great fun! The patio seems like a lovely spot to enjoy good weather as well. The place was easy to find, parking was plentiful, and the neighborhood seemed quiet but probably gets busy in summer time. Communication with the owner was personal and plentiful - it is obvious that they care about their property and the comfort of their guests.

Double bed down stair was extremely small for 2 adults. The shed had exposed rust screws next to the bikes very dangerous for kids. The table umbrella was broken. Got water ran out after 2nd shower. Decorative Outdoor lights did not work

What an adorable place to stay. The host thought of absolutely everything from a spare toothbrush to cushy towels. Everything smelled fresh and clean. We made a family birthday dinner for my 19 year old daughter in the kitchen that had everyhing we needed to cook it and we relaxed after with some birthday cake and a game of chess. My daughters attend UCONN and the New England Conservatory so it was the perfect central location for us to gather.

Perfect location for our overnight stay. Just up the street from our friends. The property was very clean, beds comfy, and communication before our stay was clear, easy and timely. Tall renters (6\'5"+ ) be aware you may need to duck a bit going through a couple doorways:)

After reading reviews and property information I expected a much better experience. There was a musty smell that did not go away with open windows, warped floors, and peeling paint. The place was clean but run down. I did not want to take a shower there. The shower was clean but old. Most windows did not have screens. The bed linens were clean but mattresses were not super comfortable. While we typically enjoy our stays with VRBO and have never left a bad review I don’t want to mislead the next guests. Maybe in the summer it is better since it’s by a lake and the place can air out.

This is a lovely spot. The blue and white theme was very cheerful. We found the beds to be very comfy. It was handy to have a bedroom on the first floor. It was a lovely neighborhood of cottages and some larger houses. We didn't bike or kayak, but it was great to have the option. It was a short walk to the lake, and there's a small parking lot if needed. I recommend the UCONN dairy bar for ice cream, and there was a pizza place very close by that was very good. UCONN also has an art museum and a small sports museum. Great trip, thanks !

Just a one night stay to see our daughter perform at the UConn Dance Company spring showcase. Perfectly appointed 3 bedroom cottage in a quiet lakeside neighborhood. Joseph made sure we had everything we needed. Only a few miles from campus and a great alternative to the Graduate at a comparable price. Will be back for sure...!

The house was as advertised. Neighborhood is quaint enjoyed our morning walks to the lake. We were visiting our son at UCONN and location was convenient to campus, the Hartford football and basketball arenas (15 minutes to all). Loved the Woke Breakfast and Coffee spot in Coventry so much that we went both mornings. One "watch out", the house is an older lake cottage and may not be ideal for people with mobility issues. Stairway to second floor is steep and narrow and rooms are small and would be difficult for a cane or walker. That was not an issue for us, but have rented VRBO's with elderly family members so that information is sometimes important for us.

This is the kind of place that makes everyone want to own a cabin on a lake! Such a cute house. We had a wonderful stay and slept so comfortably. Highly recommended.

Cute cottage in quiet neighbourhood. Since we were visiting family in the area, we did not use the bikes or kayaks. We did take walks to see the lake. Very nice VRBO owner.

The neighborhood is quiet and safe and the neighbors are nice. We enjoyed ice cream from the UConn dairy bar, had fun playing mini golf nearby, and mostly just enjoyed relaxing on the beach. The lake is really shallow which makes it great for kids!

Cute cottage that fit our needs. The lake is beautiful and close by. Kitchen was great. However, we had issues 2 nights in a row with chirping smoke alarms and finally got a new battery to fix the issue ourself. Was not happy with the manager not getting it fixed sooner. Also, the bikes were not as shown on the picture and we were not able to ride them since they were rusty, low tires, and had 2 children's bikes (we were all adults). That was a real disappointment since we wanted to ride. Overall, it's a cute property in a great location and wonderful yard, but there were some issues during our stay.

I had some concerns prior to my arrival and Joe was amazing, addressing them immediately. The property is very nice, neighborhood is great, lake was beautiful. Cottage had everything we needed, kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and utensils - even provided paper plates and plastic utensils if you don’t want to do dishes. Sufficient pots, pans and cooking tools, even included BBQ tools. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, was able to rest and relax as desired.

Just a one night stay to see our daughter perform at the UConn Dance Company spring showcase. Perfectly appointed 3 bedroom cottage in a quiet lakeside neighborhood. Joseph made sure we had everything we needed. Only a few miles from campus and a great alternative to the Graduate at a comparable price. Will be back for sure...!

What an adorable place to stay. The host thought of absolutely everything from a spare toothbrush to cushy towels. Everything smelled fresh and clean. We made a family birthday dinner for my 19 year old daughter in the kitchen that had everyhing we needed to cook it and we relaxed after with some birthday cake and a game of chess. My daughters attend UCONN and the New England Conservatory so it was the perfect central location for us to gather.

Cute cottage in quiet neighbourhood. Since we were visiting family in the area, we did not use the bikes or kayaks. We did take walks to see the lake. Very nice VRBO owner.

We had a nice 3 night stay at this cottage. It was comfortable and the AC worked great (it was hot that week). The lake is clean and we had the beach to ourselves the first day. The one major downfall was that the kayaks are not at the beach. In all the online photos the only kayak pic is at the beach on kayak storage racks, leading one to believe they are kept at the beach. This was a big reason I booked this location, only to discover the kayaks are at the house and it's not easy to get them to the beach (or back, since that's uphill). The owner was responsive and dropped off a couple kayak dollies which helped but still frustrating as I feel the listing was purposely misleading. The rest of the visit was lovely and enjoyable. This is a lovely spot. The blue and white theme was very cheerful. We found the beds to be very comfy. It was handy to have a bedroom on the first floor. It was a lovely neighborhood of cottages and some larger houses. We didn't bike or kayak, but it was great to have the option. It was a short walk to the lake, and there's a small parking lot if needed. I recommend the UCONN dairy bar for ice cream, and there was a pizza place very close by that was very good. UCONN also has an art museum and a small sports museum. Great trip, thanks !

The house was as advertised. Neighborhood is quaint enjoyed our morning walks to the lake. We were visiting our son at UCONN and location was convenient to campus, the Hartford football and basketball arenas (15 minutes to all). Loved the Woke Breakfast and Coffee spot in Coventry so much that we went both mornings. One "watch out", the house is an older lake cottage and may not be ideal for people with mobility issues. Stairway to second floor is steep and narrow and rooms are small and would be difficult for a cane or walker. That was not an issue for us, but have rented VRBO's with elderly family members so that information is sometimes important for us.

The fire pit was perfect. The location is peaceful and quiet. Restaurants and stores are a short car ride. Plenty of space upstairs where there are three more beds. The host provides lots of information about the surrounding area. Thank you!

The Host was very responsive. The home, however, was not as cozy as we had expected given the pictures online. There was also a strong unpleasant smell throughout the house that required us to purchase air spray and open the windows for ventilation.
