Arnaldo has one of the best properties you’ll find in Costa Rica. A gated property with fully furnished homes, heated pools & sloths on property. Every morning was a delight to wake up to see Toucans & macaws floating around & that early morning coolness. Wonderful stay!!

The property easily accommodated our whole family, 6 adults and 4 kids (ages 8-11). We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The 4 bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, was ideal for our party. The kids had a blast in the large swimming pool and on the trampoline. The kitchen was easy to work in and the two dining areas, one indoors and the other on the covered patio, overlooking the pool were convenient. We enjoyed using the BBQ grill for making dinners and eating outside on the patio. The kids enjoyed spotting birds and animals (sloths and lizards) on the property. The managers were very responsive and quickly took care of any questions. The property is located some 5 to 6 miles south of La Fortuna on Route 702, but the map seems to indicate it is close to town.

This property was an outstanding stay for us! Two adults, travelling with 1 adult child. Clean, well kept, modern build house, with a spectacular pool/waterfall and a well manicured yard. This property is a great place off the beaten path but close to everything. We would definitely come back!

We were 3 couples staying here. It felt like we were staying at our own personal hotel. Super Clean and Very Comfortable. We had Arnaldo and his wife cook us dinner the first night and it was wonderful. We drove into LaFortuna and did a couple excursions and ate at a couple different places including a great Soda. Saw lots of birds and the lawn/pool guy showed us two Sloths. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub!! Everything was amazing! We will definitely tell our friends that this is the place to stay!! Thanks Arnaldo, Great Communication!! Pura Vida!!

Great house. Lots of room. Clean. Nice pool. Must have car. Tough to get ride share service to come to house to take you to La Fortuna, otherwise very nice property and house. Enjoyed our stay.

The property was beautiful and secure. The home was amazing and cannot say enough about the pool. The groundskeeper showed us sloths every morning. The house is a little bit outside of La Fortuna (15 minutes) but we were ok with that. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

My husband and I stayed with our four 20 years old children . The property was beautiful and it was nice to have the privacy of the four rooms. The rooms were extremely spacious and all had their own bathroom ! Renters be aware that the entrance to your rooms is on the outside in courtyard like a hotel . I don’t know that I would want this if we had young kids with us and then have access to the pool. But for our group, it was fine. The pool was beautiful and big enough for a swim. The hot tub was great as well. The property had a nice open area to walk around and backed up to the jungle. It wasn’t immediately on top of the jungle which we liked. There seems to be a resident Sloth in one area on the property, which was kind of cool.. it was great to have the air conditioners and they worked well. The villa was very clean and modern. There wasn’t much in way of inside furniture, but we did spend most of our time outside so that didn’t bother us much. I did have to comment though that check in and check out instructions were not clear to me. I was an hour and a half from the property and didn’t have directIons to the house yet only an area. But everything else really was great. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.!!

The living room is small but plenty of chairs at table and bar. The pool was nice. AC works great! Arnaldo was very responsive. House was very clean. Highly recommend. You will need to drive into La Fortuna and at night the drive can be bit tricky with people walking along the narrow roads. Don’t be surprised with bugs visiting you..you are in the rainforest!

Great home. It's one of those places that you instantly start thinking about when you might return there again. We came with kids this time but the house is so nice and with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms we thought it would be perfect to return with a group of friends. The pool was great and we spent a lot of time in it. We also saw 3 different sloths right there on the property. This was by far the nicest and best equipped home we stayed at during our trip.

Clean, well-equipped house 15 minutes south of La Fortuna. The veranda was spacious and the pool spotless. The kitchen was good for breakfasts and simple dinners. The beds were comfortable with ample storage. There was a generous supply of bath and pool towels. This was one of the cleanest VRBOs I've ever rented; BUT there are lots of bugs in Costa Rica and you need to clean every cup and counter asap to keep the gnats at bay. The AC was great. Having a washer-dryer was fantastic, but it was a surprisingly noisy (so no loads after bedtime). The house is one of three rental houses on a private, gated drive. The photos don't show the newer houses - but you can't help but see them when you sit by the pool, and they can't help but see you as they come and go. The other houses on the court that face towards the woods (Casa Esmerelda looks awesome this way) - but Casa Colibri parallels the driveway so has limited privacy. The views beyond the neighbors are an orchard, forest with bird life, and very distant mountains. The volcano is not visible from the house (but can be seen if you walk a bit uphill towards the entrance gate). We saw toucans every afternoon, and one morning there was a sloth that the workman showed my family. The property manager was quick to respond to any questions, and when asked, sent the gate and door codes the day before we arrived.

Beautiful home with great views. Home was very clean and well kept. My family and I were able to see a sloth on the property. Home is very close to many attractions around the La Fortuna area, so it makes for a easy commute! Arnaldo and his family are some of the best host we ever had. We will definitely be back, Pura Vida!

Casa Calibri Rubi is a beautiful and spacious home in a private gated community, extremely clean, upgraded throughout. Comfortable beds, plenty of towels, great A/C units, very nice bathrooms with shower gels/shampoo/conditioner provided. We appreciated that Arnaldo provided detailed instructions on how to use security codes, appliances, A/C, etc. He is a great host. We really liked the wonderful outdoor living space. Great pool, huge covered patio with very nice dining table and chairs, comfortable upholstered furniture set. We preferred that Casa Calibri Rubi was located just outside of town, surrounded by nature, a lovely large, lush yard and grounds—all the sights and sounds we love about Costa Rica! We rented a car, it’s an easy 10 drive to downtown La Fortuna. It was convenient to all the fun adventures we planned.In the early morning hours I loved our Costa Rican “alarm clock” howler monkeys! Luis, the groundskeeper showed us a couple of sloths in trees right on the property as well as a family of howler monkeys—-so awesome!We will return to La Fortuna and we highly recommend this house.

There are so many things that went wrong and understand some things were not in their control. 1) due to storm power went out and we slept with no ac and it was very humid - we didn't get any sleep that night 2) bugs everywhere- they mentioned there might be a few but they were in our beds, got in our luggage in the kitchen it was horrible 3) Netflix issue - it was 50/50 chance the tv worked it wasn't the best 4) pool lights - would go on and off while we tried to night swim - we ended up not using the pool very much 5) stray dogs - we were running from our house from the taxis because the stray dogs would run up on us - this also effected our pool stay 6) room lights - would flicker when using 7) bathroom doors didn't lock

We felt very, very safe in this gated little neighborhood with the owner living within the neighborhood or at least his daughter was there to help us out. The house was immaculate!

We were impressed with this beautiful property! It is in a quiet area and was very clean, well stocked and had comfortable beds and linens. We enjoyed hanging out in the pool and patio area, especially for breakfast. We saw many birds including Tucans. One of the grounds keepers even showed us a sloth on property. It was a highlight for us! We would definitely stay here again!

Stayed for four nights and absolutely had an amazing time in the La Fortuna area and at this property. Everything was very well maintained, clean, and cared for. Property grounds are immaculate - as others have mentioned - photos do not do it justice. We saw large iguanas and a sloth on the property, which was an unexpected treat. The separation of the rooms/casitas gave everyone privacy and plenty of room to spread out. The location was close to everything - chocolate tours, night walk, and not far from downtown. Would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again!

Big house, lots of beds and bath for multiple couples. Tucked back in a gated area with lots of surrounding nature. Could use some bedside lighting and a few more pieces of furniture, but that is literally it. Map on listing shows property RIGHT on the edge of La Fortuna (maybe their office) but it is actually about a 15 minute trip into town...especially at night and in the rain.

Casa Colíbri is wonderful! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. We were celebrating my 40th birthday. The house is one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. The hosts went above and beyond to educate guests about the property and the area nearby. They even provided videos of how to do or use certain things, like the stove, which was actually really helpful. Someone came by every morning to clean the pool and one day, he spotted a sloth on the property and took us to see it!! We loved the various wildlife we could see around the house including the sloth, toucans, lizards, butterflies, and of course, hummingbirds (not called hummingbird house for nothing!). A couple heads up for people that are tourists: the first night, I arrived before my friend and I didn't have access to a car. I asked the hosts for help ordering delivery. They helped me order traditional Costa Rican Arroz con Pollo. It cost $50USD for 2 portions AND a $15USD delivery fee. The entire week, I never saw Arroz con Pollo cost more than $10USD so clearly the delivery was exceptionally inflated. Definitely rent a car, you will need it, even though we were pretty close to everything. There is also a rooster on property that will crow pretty much all night. Nights I was exhausted, I could sleep through it but, it did wake me up several times. It would not stop me from staying here again but, something to keep in mind. Loved this house! Plenty of space for everyone with the courtyard design of the bedrooms, we loved it! The photos don’t do it justice! We saw monkeys on the first morning and a sloth later in the week right in the backyard! Amazing stay, we highly recommend this home!

My family of 5 enjoyed our stay at Casa Colibri. The house was much bigger than we expected. Kitchen was well stocked to prepare your own meals and the outdoor grill was in excellent condition. The property is well maintained, especially the pool. We saw it get cleaned every day. It is a short drive to La Fortuna on a paved road. It can get loud early in the morning with nearby roosters, so I recommend earplugs if you are a light sleeper. We would definately rent this house again.

My husband and I stayed with our four 20 years old children . The property was beautiful and it was nice to have the privacy of the four rooms. The rooms were extremely spacious and all had their own bathroom ! Renters be aware that the entrance to your rooms is on the outside in courtyard like a hotel . I don’t know that I would want this if we had young kids with us and then have access to the pool. But for our group, it was fine. The pool was beautiful and big enough for a swim. The hot tub was great as well. The property had a nice open area to walk around and backed up to the jungle. It wasn’t immediately on top of the jungle which we liked. There seems to be a resident Sloth in one area on the property, which was kind of cool.. it was great to have the air conditioners and they worked well. The villa was very clean and modern. There wasn’t much in way of inside furniture, but we did spend most of our time outside so that didn’t bother us much. I did have to comment though that check in and check out instructions were not clear to me. I was an hour and a half from the property and didn’t have directIons to the house yet only an area. But everything else really was great. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.!!

We loved this place, and would definitely stay here again! The bathrooms were well-appointed with extra towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash. The beds and linens were very comfortable. The shared space had everything you need for cooking. All the appliances were new, and well maintained. Included a washer and dryer, and even a swimsuit spinner. The host was very responsive. The pictures don’t do this place justice! It was incredible! We saw sloths and other wildlife on the property.

Lots of bedrooms & bathrooms for 6 adults (3 couples) & 2 teenagers to stay. Pool & outdoor dining area were beautiful, we spent most of our time outside when we were there. Easy drive into La Fortuna for activities & dining. Lots of parrots in the nearby trees & even a sloth for a few days! Main negatives were the daily visits by random dogs in the area. One of our party members is afraid of dogs & was constantly on alert for them & had to go inside multiple times a day when they would wander over. A/C unit did not work in one of the bedrooms, alerted property owner but as it was over Christmas holidays, not much could be done. Would stay again!

We drove from Tamarindo up to La Fortuna and unfortunately, I did not open the documents before we left so I was having a really hard time finding any information about how to check in. Luckily the host was very quick to respond and helped us getting clear directions and even offered to guide us into the property. won

Great place! Pictures don't do it justice. Owners were very responsive. We loved the stay. Just far enough from the town of La Fortuna to enjoy some peace and quiet, but close enough to enjoy all that is offered. Check in was a breeze. Would highly recommend.,

We had a little confusion in the beginning with the Waze app . Such quick response time !! The property is lovely. Highly recommend ! Pool lights hot tub beds perfect for a family trip !! We had 3 adult kids and us !! So fun to see all around La Fortuna! When the door got locked !! We got it fixed asap !!! Thank you ! Even had a sloth in the tree !!! Birds and wonderful jungle noises !! Great restaurants just 7-10 mins away by car !!

The home is beautiful, and while we didn’t use any of the suggested services… our friend did use the private airport transfer and said it was great!The host is responsive and lives on the adjacent property, we had two small issues and he addressed both quickly and effectively.Overall great experience in an amazing property!

Casa Calibri Rubi is a beautiful and spacious home in a private gated community, extremely clean, upgraded throughout. Comfortable beds, plenty of towels, great A/C units, very nice bathrooms with shower gels/shampoo/conditioner provided. We appreciated that Arnaldo provided detailed instructions on how to use security codes, appliances, A/C, etc. He is a great host. We really liked the wonderful outdoor living space. Great pool, huge covered patio with very nice dining table and chairs, comfortable upholstered furniture set. We preferred that Casa Calibri Rubi was located just outside of town, surrounded by nature, a lovely large, lush yard and grounds—all the sights and sounds we love about Costa Rica! We rented a car, it’s an easy 10 drive to downtown La Fortuna. It was convenient to all the fun adventures we planned.In the early morning hours I loved our Costa Rican “alarm clock” howler monkeys! Luis, the groundskeeper showed us a couple of sloths in trees right on the property as well as a family of howler monkeys—-so awesome!We will return to La Fortuna and we highly recommend this house.

We were extremely disappointed by this property mainly due to being misled about the location. The owner messaged me three different times with the wrong address/pin location. He led us to believe the property was in town (Fortuna) when it is actually about 15-20 minutes away. When confronted he continued to say “I don’t know. This hasn’t happened before”. He’s the one that sent me the pins not once but three times. Even on VRBO the location is absolutely incorrect. His answer to that “I don’t know….hardly anyone uses VRBO. We were debating between two properties and picked this one based on the false location provided. Also there are several stray dogs that camp out T the door waiting to be fed. Hot water runs out after about two showers.

We had a great experience at this property! It’s nestled in the lush country. I was impressed with how clean the property was, and the groundsman kept the outdoors in great shape. He even showed us a sloth on property.My son left an important item, and the owner coordinated a driver to drive it 3 hours to Tamarindo.Communication and check in was easy. We would stay here again!

4 of us came on a work trip and decided to spend a couple days ziplining and rafting before getting to work. This house was ideally located for our visits to both activities and we really enjoyed the layout of the house and the pool. My only wish was that we could have spent the entire week here rather than only a night or two. Arnaldo was incredibly helpful when I had user error with the lock and he provides a fantastic house manual. When my family returns to Costa Rica for a vacation I plan on staying here.

Arnaldo was a fabulous host. He assisted getting us to the best tours. We had a wonderful 5 days, the pool was a great way to unwind each night. We also did the personal chef for an evening meal. Best money spent. Five stars for all! We would woulddefinitely stay here again.

Could use some bedside lighting and a few more pieces of furniture, but that is literally it. Map on listing shows property RIGHT on the edge of La Fortuna (maybe their office) but it is actually about a 15 minute trip into town...especially at night and in the rain.

Wonderful accommodations and great location. The kids felt like royalty and were so impressed with the house and the pool. We drove into La Fortuna daily for restaurants and wandering and did a bunch of activities as well. Nothing was more than a 20 minute drive.

Kids loved the good-sized pool with waterfall. Property manager promptly answered any questions we had. The property was beautiful and secure. The home was amazing and cannot say enough about the pool. The groundskeeper showed us sloths every morning. The house is a little bit outside of La Fortuna (15 minutes) but we were ok with that. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful time here. House was well equipped, had everything we needed. We were 2 families with both young kids and teens. The kitchen is fully equipped. The living room is small but plenty of chairs at table and bar. The pool was nice. AC works great! Arnaldo was very responsive. House was very clean. Highly recommend. You will need to drive into La Fortuna and at night the drive can be bit tricky with people walking along the narrow roads. Don’t be surprised with bugs visiting you..you are in the rainforest!

Clean, well-equipped house 15 minutes south of La Fortuna. The veranda was spacious and the pool spotless. The kitchen was good for breakfasts and simple dinners. The beds were comfortable with ample storage. There was a generous supply of bath and pool towels. This was one of the cleanest VRBOs I've ever rented; BUT there are lots of bugs in Costa Rica and you need to clean every cup and counter asap to keep the gnats at bay. The AC was great. Having a washer-dryer was fantastic, but it was a surprisingly noisy (so no loads after bedtime). The house is one of three rental houses on a private, gated drive. The photos don't show the newer houses - but you can't help but see them when you sit by the pool, and they can't help but see you as they come and go. The other houses on the court that face towards the woods (Casa Esmerelda looks awesome this way) - but Casa Colibri parallels the driveway so has limited privacy. The views beyond the neighbors are an orchard, forest with bird life, and very distant mountains. The volcano is not visible from the house (but can be seen if you walk a bit uphill towards the entrance gate). We saw toucans every afternoon, and one morning there was a sloth that the workman showed my family. The property manager was quick to respond to any questions, and when asked, sent the gate and door codes the day before we arrived.

The other houses on the court that face towards the woods (Casa Esmerelda looks awesome this way) - but Casa Colibri parallels the driveway so has limited privacy. The views beyond the neighbors are an orchard, forest with bird life, and very distant mountains. The volcano is not visible from the house (but can be seen if you walk a bit uphill towards the entrance gate). We saw toucans every afternoon, and one morning there was a sloth that the workman showed my family. The property manager was quick to respond to any questions, and when asked, sent the gate and door codes the day before we arrived.

The property easily accommodated our whole family, 6 adults and 4 kids (ages 8-11). We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The 4 bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, was ideal for our party. The kids had a blast in the large swimming pool and on the trampoline. The kitchen was easy to work in and the two dining areas, one indoors and the other on the covered patio, overlooking the pool were convenient. We enjoyed using the BBQ grill for making dinners and eating outside on the patio. The kids enjoyed spotting birds and animals (sloths and lizards) on the property. The managers were very responsive and quickly took care of any questions. The property is located some 5 to 6 miles south of La Fortuna on Route 702, but the map seems to indicate it is close to town.

Casa Colíbri is wonderful! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. We were celebrating my 40th birthday. The house is one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. The hosts went above and beyond to educate guests about the property and the area nearby. They even provided videos of how to do or use certain things, like the stove, which was actually really helpful. Someone came by every morning to clean the pool and one day, he spotted a sloth on the property and took us to see it!! We loved the various wildlife we could see around the house including the sloth, toucans, lizards, butterflies, and of course, hummingbirds (not called hummingbird house for nothing!). A couple heads up for people that are tourists: the first night, I arrived before my friend and I didn't have access to a car. I asked the hosts for help ordering delivery. They helped me order traditional Costa Rican Arroz con Pollo. It cost $50USD for 2 portions AND a $15USD delivery fee. The entire week, I never saw Arroz con Pollo cost more than $10USD so clearly the delivery was exceptionally inflated. Definitely rent a car, you will need it, even though we were pretty close to everything. There is also a rooster on property that will crow pretty much all night. Nights I was exhausted, I could sleep through it but, it did wake me up several times. It would not stop me from staying here again but, something to keep in mind. What a beautiful property. The pool was warm and magical. The beds were so comfortable. Lots of warm water. Not within walking distance of town, but the magic of the place was a fine trade-off.

We had a little confusion in the beginning with the Waze app . Such quick response time !! The property is lovely. Highly recommend ! Pool lights hot tub beds perfect for a family trip !! We had 3 adult kids and us !! So fun to see all around La Fortuna! When the door got locked !! We got it fixed asap !!! Thank you ! Even had a sloth in the tree !!! Birds and wonderful jungle noises !! Great restaurants just 7-10 mins away by car !!

We were 3 couples staying here. It felt like we were staying at our own personal hotel. Super Clean and Very Comfortable. We had Arnaldo and his wife cook us dinner the first night and it was wonderful. We drove into LaFortuna and did a couple excursions and ate at a couple different places including a great Soda. Saw lots of birds and the lawn/pool guy showed us two Sloths. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub!! Everything was amazing! We will definitely tell our friends that this is the place to stay!! Thanks Arnaldo, Great Communication!! Pura Vida!!

My family of 5 enjoyed our stay at Casa Colibri. The house was much bigger than we expected. Kitchen was well stocked to prepare your own meals and the outdoor grill was in excellent condition. The property is well maintained, especially the pool. We saw it get cleaned every day. It is a short drive to La Fortuna on a paved road. It can get loud early in the morning with nearby roosters, so I recommend earplugs if you are a light sleeper. We would definately rent this house again.

Beautiful gated home with relaxing pool. The location is further from town than expected but not a concern. We loved the home and property. The home is well stocked with everything you need for your stay. The outdoor area is beautiful with a lovely pool and landscaping. Arnaldo responded quickly to any of our questions. On our last morning, the groundskeeper came to get us to show us the 2 sloths in the trees at the back of the property! We also booked the chefs for our last breakfast and they were amazing! Great experience.

Arnaldo was a fabulous host. He assisted getting us to the best tours. We had a wonderful 5 days, the pool was a great way to unwind each night. We also did the personal chef for an evening meal. Best money spent. Five stars for all! We would woulddefinitely stay here again.

Excellent property and exactly as advertised. Great location as long as you have a car. Property owner was excellent and very responsive to any questions and was always trying to help us with any of our tour/activity questions. Very clean property and nice grounds. Would highly recommend.

The casa is well located just a short drive from la Fortuna and all amenities. The private pool is a welcome cooling dip after a humid hike. The kitchen is well equipped and met our needs for basic meals. We did have a hiccup with one air conditioner unit leaking water into one of the bedrooms. We informed the owner and used a different room. Nearby construction of a house wasn' t too bothersome as our schedule was away from the casa mostbof the day. Would stay again and fully recommend.

My mother and I had the luxury of staying at this property while staying in La Fortuna. We enjoyed every morning by the pool with the sounds of surrounding birds and wildlife. The pool was beautiful and clean as well as the rest of the home. We felt very safe and secure in this location and the drive to surrounding attractions in La Fortuna, was very close and convenient. We can not wait to come back!
