Great location just across from Haymarket station. Very busy area with lots of coffee shops. Tram stop is less than 200m away. As far as hotel is concerned, when we arrived there exactly when we advised we would there was a sign on the door to call a mobile number to gain access. Had to wait 15 mins until someone arrived. Was advised that they had an emergency but this was not the case as the sign was up in more than one place and throughout our stay. We were about to be shown to our room when the receptionist decided it would be better for her to check the room first. This took 5 mins so something hadn't been ready. When we eventually got access to the room it was bright, airy and looked clean enough. The bed was super king size and looked very impressive. Unfortunately the continental quilt was not super king size which looked odd and I could already envisage the fight my wife and I would have that night! We did not have breakfast at the hotel (£18) on use the bar as it didn't ever seem to be manned. Receptionist was the only person we ever saw. She was very polite and helpful. Oh, and as an aside, parking is on the street and we had to pay for 2hrs before the Sunday free day. This cost £14!!! As from 11 April parking charges will be extended to Sundays. If you stay all weekend parking may cost as much as the hotel !! There are lots of other hotels in the area including a Travelodge which all looked busy. Return tram to Princess Street was £4.80 pp return.
