Beachfront Inn and Suites at Dana Point

Spacious very clean room with balcony & decent ocean view but a bit noisy. No swimming pool but large hot tub used mostly as a “ warm water pool” for kids which was near our room so noisy. Not far from walk over bridge to get to Beach so convenient for that a good restaurant. Also could hear foot steps from n room above. staff was great. Overall, rate good

Nice space and location. The hot tub was broken and didn’t heat. It would have been nice to sit in the hotel at the end of the day.

The hot tub heater was not working. They charge $10 a day for parking

The pool spa area was closed.

There was construction going in the entire time. Even on the weekend. There were boards up everywhere. Plastic taped areas. It was pretty low quality. The hot tub facing the sunset would have been even better if the hot tub worked properly.

Resort claim to . have a pool and spa. At check-in resort officials had a big prepared story of how the pool was down due to health department. At checkout another representative indicated the resort never had a pool at all. Left confused, frustrated and think it might have been a bait and switch situation.

Great value for the price, this is not fancy or best of best but the pieces are all there, it is clean and had great parking. Elevator needed a tune up.

Rooms were clean but outdated. Continental Breakfast was good. Across the street from the beach; railroad tracks and PCH. No pool just a larger spa. Nice but wouldn't stay there again!

The room was not at all as presented in the pictures. They did some new flooring but the rest was awful, needs complete update. The bathroom was dirty and disgusting. So old and when they did repairs on sink, tub etc it was as if a toddler repaired. The toilet was so old the enamel was worn completely off and ... was in the cracks. We had to clean it. I would not ever recommend staying there. I have lots of pictures to substantiate what I am saying. The two young men at the front desk were very nice. We never said anything because they know what's wrong. The entire hotel is in disrepair. Whoever does the maintenance doesn't know what they are doing it looked like a toddler tried repairing. Same throughout the entire hotel from walkways to elevator. No sense going into more detail because if needed I took pictures. Horrible.

Everything about the place was great until I got in the bathroom and it was looked like it had not been cleaned and had hair all over the place.

The upstairs neighbors were heard loud and clear. The unit was dirty and floor looked like it hasn’t been mopped in a year.

Sofa bed was dirty, had to beg for sheets, bathroom was moldy, and no cleaning service. Nice view but, the beach was thousand steps away as you have to cross the railroad tracks via tall sky bridge. Staff was not friendly kicked everyone out from the breakfast area at 10am sharp.

Rooms are very old. The AC was extremely loud and it woke us up several times during the night. There were stains in the sheets. We paid for an ocean view room and despite the fact that the property was very empty, they gave us a corner room were the only partial view was from the balcony.

Had two TVs in the room and neither one of them worked at the time of check-in. Front desk came turned on the TV with their own remote and once we turned off the TV you couldn’t turn it back on or change the channel. Mold around the bathtub and the floors were extremely gritty.

The property is in a beautiful location. Bedsheets had sand in them and new sheets had what looked like blood on them. Sink in bathroom was plugged and faucet was leaking. Hot tub heater was out. It appears management is unwilling or unable to maintain the property adequately.

there were three of us staying in a three person suite. The king bed mattress was completely shock. I wouldn’t let my dog sleep on it. The full out full-size in the living room was even worse than the king mattress. Just not a great place for humans to sleep. flor was dirty and our feet were black when we walked without our shoes. There was black mold in the bathroom and even though there were three of us on the reservation, there was only one cup for coffee, one cup in bathroom and we had to scrounge up the sleeping sheets, pillows and blankets for the hideous pull out bed. On the bright side, the management company hires wonderful people. They were totally sweet and helpful.

This property is very beautiful and the rooms are huge but we noticed the bed sheets were not clean they have a stain and then when my husband went to go grab the blankets in the closet those were dirty as well it looked like candy or something pink was stained

It was affordable, the breakfast was simple but it hit the spot. The bed was comfortable and overall the room felt clean. There was mold around the single pane window. We were on the top floor but would hear intermittent thumping every night on the ceiling which seemed like pipes. Very thin walls, very small towels but that’s expected at the price. If it weren’t for the mold and noise I’d give it a much better review. Parking was limited and I had to go to the lobby twice to ask where to park. They had to ask a group of visitors (non guests)to move their cars each time. So they did handle it.

The ocean view was a partial ocean view. The fold out couch was very old and very uncomfortable but king bed and pillows were great!

The ocean front room has a wonderful ocean view. Please note that it is also directly over the Pacific Coast Highway which has a lot of traffic noise.

Beautiful spot to stay and cute inn. However the room I stayed in, 328, was a bit loud with a machine running below the room There was an off and on buzzing sound all night. The room also didn't have much of a view.

Staff 5 Stars!!!! Love the view of the ocean. They also had Boogie Board for the kids. The room was very roomy! They just have to update the sofa mattress.

This is such a great place to stay. Friendly people. Rooms are huge, clean and the beds are extremely comfortable! The breakfast included oranges, bananas, yogurt, sweet rolls, oatmeal and waffles! Wow! Checkin and checkout super easy and no charge for parking.

We would stay here again. The two king beds was the reason we booked at this location. Room was spacious which was nice for our family of 4. Room had an ocean view, Unfortunately the AC unit was incredibly loud and would wake us up throughout the night and the breakfast was pretty weak, those kept me from eating it 5 stars.

Great beach access. Hotel room door would not close properly. Ceilings very thin. Beach front view came with view of 3 other patios and people.

My room's TV was not working. The person who came to my room to help me told me that if I was not happy I should leave, when I told him that was a very bad customer service, he totally changed his attitude, he changed my room and was then very helpful but it was a very bad experience for me; when he could not fix the TV he changed and upgraded my room however, the bathroom did not have shower curtain.

My check in was painless. I was greeted by DJ amazing personality he is perfect for the position. makes you feel like he is welcoming you to his house. Answered all questions and made suggestions. I was able to upgrade to a beach view with discounted rate. My departure was with Carlos. He was very kind and helpful. Took extra time to explain the bill and made adjustments for the room upgrade. He made the adjustments before I left and showed on my statement before I got home in AZ. Hotels .com did an exceptional job of booking and Beachfront came through with their product as described. If anyone from Hotels.com is reading this, I do have a complaint with your website in profile changes - I am changing providers. I can't change my email - I have reached out to your customer service - they transfer calls to deadlines and your website is constantly saying system error try back later. Hotels.com need to fix their house to keep my business.

Old, in disrepair, reception a joke, Breakfast included what breakfast? Never ever stay here again. Expedia should remove from their website.

The location of the hotel is excellent, being close to the beach, several restaurants, and local shops. However, my experience was marred by significant issues. Despite reserving a room with a beach view and a balcony, I was given a different room upon arrival. When I raised this with the manager, he claimed there was nothing he could do because I had booked through a third party. His response was dismissive: “That is why we tell guests to book through us directly, sorry nothing we can do. Call Expedia and have them change hotels if you aren’t happy!” My daughter and I decided to stay because she didn’t want to go through the hassle of changing hotels. Unfortunately, our room had a noticeable odor, requiring us to keep the doors and windows open to air it out. On the bright side, the cleaning staff was very attentive and concerned about my asthma, ensuring the room wouldn't exacerbate my condition. Overall, I was deeply disappointed with the manager’s lack of empathy and the poor service. The lack of front desk staff, the wrong room assignment, and the smell in the room all contributed to a frustrating stay. I will not be staying here again!

The staff was friendly and helpful, the property itself was beautiful and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was appreciated i would highly recommend this place to stay. The view was amazing from our balcony!

We absolutely loved our stay here, from the minute we got here, we liked it more and more every day. DJ and his crew at the front desk were very accommodating, taking care of our every need. After a long day of exploring L.A. and the beaches, we looked forward to coming back to the comfort of our little ocean-front pad. The breakfast in the mornings was just what you needed to start your day, a nice variety. We stayed here for ten days, and loved it every day, and would definitely come back again in the future.

We recently stayed here for 5 days in one of the biggest rooms w/ocean views. Our room was nice but there wasn’t any dish soap, paper towels or trash bags in the kitchen-WHY??? Got the runaround from the rudest girl at the lobby check-in ever! Terrible customer service and she didn’t care!!! I will probably never visit here again!

The hotel was pleasant overall, and I would recommend it despite a few issues. One major drawback was the thin ceilings, which allowed significant noise from the room above us. We were woken up on both nights of our stay—on the first night from 3:30 AM to 7:00 AM, and on the second night from midnight to around 1:30 AM—due to very loud guests upstairs. This was quite disruptive. On a positive note, the staff working Friday and Saturday were friendly and accommodating, which enhanced our experience. However, the staff member on duty Sunday morning was noticeably different. He came across as unfriendly and unwelcoming, and it felt like he wasn’t suited for a customer-facing role. It would be great if the hotel could ensure a consistent level of friendliness across all staff. Despite these challenges, I still found the stay enjoyable overall and would consider returning in the future.

This little gem, for me, is an excellent location. I have a sisiter and 3 neices inbthebarea and I love havung the anikitybto be comfortable feeling of my own space.

Location is great

The property is older and across the beach which can be reached from an overcrossing on PCH. Be in good health to do that though, as there is a fair number of steps. They have an underground parking garage that costs $10 per night of your stay, which for what one pays for a "premium room" I'm taken back somewhat. The view from the room was as advertised as we had a ocean view. Room size was comfortable, but aside from the bed and TV's, furniture was outdated. Room acoustics are questionable, as PCH is right in front of the hotel and traffic is constant, except for most of the overnight hours. There is also a train track adjacent to the beach, which around midevening when the freight train passes, you will feel the room shake like a mild earthquake. (Our room was on the second floor). The best part of the room was the view from the balcony, as we could enjoy the ocean views from there. The complimentary breakfast was adequate. Hard boiled eggs, dry and wet cereals, make your own waffles from a batter, and some fruit and danishes. One of the employees that assisted us throughout our stay, Carlos was very friendly and helpful. That made a impression on us, as customer service is always important. For the price of the room, I would perhaps consider another Motel, based mostly on the "aged rooms and the traffic noise" But understanding when you are looking for an ocean view stay, you will pay a premium in most places.

This was a great stay for the price and location. There are restaurants and bars within walking distance. It’s about a 5 minute drive to Dana Point Harbor to the north and San Clemente to the south. The staff was helpful and kind. Our room was clean but nothing fancy.

The facility looks nice on the outside. Parking is great. Front desk staff were friendly. However, the rooms & furniture need updated and cleaned pretty badly. Breakfast is sub-par and the breakfast area is minimal. The beach view is nice but the beach itself is hard to access due to railroad tracks and fencing plus two very long sets of stairs that would be very difficult for young families or anyone with physical limitations. I have included a picture of one set of stairs as well as the view of the hotel from the beach access point.

Renovated older hotel, room were clean looking, freshly painted. Bathroom was painted but very small, floors and baseboards were dirty. Nice view of the ocean, but beach is not easy access.

Great location near the beach!

Stayed here 1 night before catching an early ferry to Catalina. We had a front facing room with private balcony with a great very of the ocean. Hotel is clean and staff is very friendly. Located close to many shopping and food choices. Also very close to Dana Point Marina. Would stay here again

Liked the view from the room. Didn't like that the beach was so hard to acess because of construction. Staff was great Frank and DJ really tried their best to help throughout all out mishaps.

Property is a little older. Bad continental breakfast (pretty much just sweets and sugar filled cereal). Small hot tub on property was nice. Literally right across the street from the beach. Walls and floor super thin, so neighbors can be loud. Would stay there again.

It was okay. Didn’t have a working phone and wanted to take a hotbath but didn’t work out as I couldn’t plug the water as the drainer stopper didn’t work. I called from my phone, as room phone wasn’t working, to request WiFi password instead of getting it I was told that it was provided at check in and then given to me as if she was doing me a favor. However, location is good and I enjoyed beachfront view, but wish the hotel was given some love and breakfast provides options.

The places has not sound proof ceiling or walls, you can hear everything from the neighboring rooms or upstairs rooms. Air filters are filthy full of dust, the AC thermostats don't work. The breakfast was not continental and very poor on choices. Mario the front desk attendant was very understanding and accommodated us to another room, but still you can hear everything. This was a business trip.

We go here every year for Thanksgiving. Hotel is reasonably priced with great ocean views. Staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel could use an exterior update as it’s starting to look a bit run down. There weren’t screens on the windows in our ocean front room which made it a bit unsafe to open the windows. The breakfast options are definitely in need of a change. Not much choice or options. Could offer a variety of juices in a juice machine and some bread with a toaster would help. It was pretty scarce. Overall I would stay there again, it just needs some upgrading.

Loved the location! Exceptional customer service! Spacious King suite. Could use an update to the bathroom. The continental breakfast was lackluster. I would definitely stay there again.
