The White Hart Hotel Lincoln

Beautiful period property in the heart of Lincoln. The cobbled streets are so beautiful. No car parking onsite so need to park in a public car park about 2 minutes walk away. Quite noisy on a Saturday night on the street. Breakfast was OK but service slow and bacon, sausages and black pudding over cooked to state of dryness. Very nice decor - particularly in common areas.

Stayed for two nights at the White Hart. The hotel had just re-opened and the staff were inexperienced (but still excellent, friendly and efficient). Fantastic location but the hotel is still undergoing refurbishment and there is still a lot of work to be done. The Bar area, toilets etc were immaculate but the breakfast room was clearly temporary. The restaurant was not open as work was still being carried out. We were there with friends and they were in a refurbished room which was excellent, ours had not been refurbished and was a little disappointing. There is still a lot of work to be done at the hotel but it is moving in the right direction. It has the potential to be a fantastic hotel and we will probably be back at some point when it is fully finished and has the same high standard as it's staff.

Everything was really good, bar staff particularly good. Only disappointment was the lack of the claimed parking.

Grave Misrepresentation on Property :(((. WEB SITE & Expedia follow by Adverizing PROPERTY that "ON SITE PARKING " ( qualified by " Hieght limitations" BUT no issue as I had medium size car. BAD BAD. On arrival C/in told HOTEL NO ONSITE Parking. Next morning ASKED in OFFICE and girl repeated "NO ONSITE atm becaused CLOSED for works in adjacent property. ". I daid

The hotel is in a lovely position in Lincoln, very close to the castle and Cathedral. A few dining options close by too. The hotel offers free parking, unfortunately it is not clear when booking that this has to be pre booked as space is very limited.We had to park in the Westfield car park which was an added expense we were not aware of until we were checking in. Also the car park fills up very quickly and is a 7 minute walk from the hotel.

A beautiful recently refurbished in a very attractive art deco style. Close to the cathedral it is perfectly placed in the heart of old Lincoln. Excellent breakfast and a very good dinner. Unfortunately there was no live tv in the rooms during our stay, for which we were reimbursed with a bar and restaurant credit. The room was cold due to a boiler problem, but we were provided with a mobile heater. There is no onsite parking, but public parking is readily available.

Food was good in the Antler Restaurant and breakfast was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was nearby for a charge.

Poor service when asking for WiFi and told it wasn’t working in our room, booked a king bed and had two poorly pushed together singles. A real shame as the hotel could be so great.

Excellent hotel, accommodation, staff and bar and restaurant. Very friendly staff especially with our little dog! Centrally situated. Great cocktails! Reasonable prices. The guest WiFi was a bit weak in some of the rooms, but fine in the foyer. Highly recommended.

Pleasant Hotel with an Oldie world feel with modern touches in best location for visiting the Magnificent Lincoln Cathedral. Friendly Service Staff. Welcoming Reception Area. Comfortable Beds, fresh linen. Clean room with refreshing Elemis products in the bathroom for Guest use. Breakfast was Great. Service Staff friendly with positive vibe, happy to help.

A really gorgeous hotel with a beautiful room which was sparkling clean, including the bathroom. This hotel feels very luxurious at such a good price and the staff even upgraded us to a better room when we arrived as they had it available. We’d definitely stay again.

Dust everywhere which aggregated my asthma, pubic hair in shower, bodily fluid on clean towel and dirty marks on headboard. So disappointing

On the hottest day of the summer the long walk up Steep Hill seemed never ending. It was worth it when we reached this hotel. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The communal areas were inviting and beautifully decorated. The stairs and corridors to the room were like a rabbit warren but spotless and classically decorated. The room was stunning, it looked so inviting. Beautiful bedding, lush carpet, thick blackout curtains, a couple of chairs, a side table and drink making facilities. Two steps up to a landing with wardrobe space and then the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel with luxury towels and Elemis toiletries. The shower was easy to use and powerful. We ate in the bar on the first night; lovely staff and beautifully presented delicious food. My husband said the pie was one of the best he had tasted. I missed breakfast the first morning due to being unwell but my husband enjoyed it. The second night we ate in the restaurant. I had the the pie that my husband had enjoyed and yes it was delicious. My husband decided to push the boat out and have the lamb. He sat watching all the large portions coming out for other diners, then his small portion of 'nouveau cuisine' lamb dinner came out. His face dropped, he is good at maths and worked out that each mouthful cost £3. I suggested ordering a side of vegetables but he didn't want to cause a fuss. I gave him half of my pie and pudding as my portions were too big for me.

A great overnight stay with family in a lovely hotel. Recently refurbed and in a perfect location sandwiched between the castle and the cathedral, within walking distance of pubs and restaurants. Parking is close by (2 minute walk), friendly staff and lovely breakfast. Highly recommend and will definitely be staying again.

Clean room, great view, very quiet, good breakfast, nice bar. Excellent staff.

Was disappointed as this is a premier hotel in Lincoln. We arrived late to find no lift to get our luggage up several steps to our room. Whilst the room was comfortable it was dark with the lamps a problem-solving exercise to actually turn them on. Most disappointing was the lack of bedrrom servicing on our 2nd night. First world issues I know but still not what you expect.

Very little outside noise to bother us though. Parking wasn’t a problem as the car park (and several others) were close by. Would highly recommend this hotel if you like to stay somewhere with character.

Very pleasant weekend away at the White Hart hotel. Our room, number 104, was very comfortable with the only exception being the the early morning delivery’s were directly beneath our window.

Location is good and very friendly staff. Room is dated - pillows are very flat and uncomfortable, hot water is a storage heater and quickly ran out of hot water (not enough for one quick shower and one bath), wifi did not work well at all, and walls got wet after the shower if you didn’t shut the door and put the fan on. Amenities provided were basic but serviceable - it is fine if you plan to only use the room to sleep in, but if you want to spend anytime there then it isn’t ideal.

We had the king Edward suite, & frankly, it was perfect. The view of the cathedral was breathtaking.

Lovely hotel in a fantastic location with great staff The only criticism was the temperature of the room….like walking into a sauna!!! We were on the 3rd floor with a 10cm opening in the window and no air conditioning A fan was provided but it just pushed hot air around for 2 nights making sleeping very uncomfortable A Dyson cooling fan would’ve helped I’d would definitely stay again if I had a guarantee to be able to open a window!

Lovely attentive, helpful.and very patient staff. Our bed was really comfortable. Our room did look over the cathedral, which does mean the bells do wake you up at 7am! Still, it is lovely to be close to this amazing, historic building. Location amongst individual shops, which are a bit different, the cathedral and the castle is a real bomus.

Beautiful hotel with outstanding decor and fantastic location. The hot weather was an issue in the bedrooms - three rooms were stifling and as a listed building air conditioning was not allowed to be fitted apparently. Hot night and although a small desk fan provided- but had little effect. Food was lovely at breakfast but not all available- service a little slow. Would stay again in the cooler months.

Gorgeous period hotel. Not as cramped as many others in the UK. Lovely modern and updated rooms. We had a view of the cathedral from our window which was gorgeous.

The room was clean and well appointed - (we had a deluxe double - but it was 2 singles with a topper but it was clearly two single beds you had a gap down the middle which does not normally happen in this kind of situation. Was noisy but I expected this due to location - come midnight it went silent so all good - breakfast was ok.

We could hear people in the streets talking and laughing until about 3am.It was a Saturday night in the town centre so we expected some noise but not that much. We could also clearly hear people coming back to their rooms after a night out. We got very little sleep. Staff were polite and did their best but breakfast was not very organised. They have a system with 2 breakfast sitting so a lot of people arrived for breakfast at the same time which probably wasn’t the best system. We went for the 8-8.15 sitting. People were queuing up to go into the room when we arrived. We didn’t have to wait to long to be seated but the people sitting next to us described it as fawlty towers! We were offered tea and coffee on arrival but we had to remind them twice before it arrived. Staff were bringing food out and taking it to the wrong tables so ended up wandering round asking different tables if that was what they had ordered. The waiter managed to knock the lamp off our table. The people at the next table asked for porridge (off the menu) assuming it would be made onsite but were told they could only have the gluten free porridge which came in a premade pot that they had to add water to themselves. However our breakfast (when we eventually got it) was very nice. Overall a nice hotel but we wouldn’t stay here again due to the noise

First impressions of hotel lasted throughout. Lady on reception was very helpful in regards to organising car park and directions on arrival. She was also happy to store our luggage due to our arrival being 4 hours before check in time. Upon check in time gentleman on reception was not very welcoming or informative in regards to where our room was and access, did not explain where breakfast would be or anything in regards to an evening meal. He seemed totally uninterested. Room and bathroom very spacious and newly renovated, only negative in room is lack of lighting as the room was very dull/dark with all lamps on. Lady taking orders during breakfast was lovely and friendly, polite and helpful. Full English Breakfast was superb however, veggie breakfasf tasteless. Overall would recommend hotel which is situated perfectly for visiting the castle and cathedral, and would return.

Staff bent over backwards to help at every opportunity. They were friendly, easy to talk to. They dealt with mishaps in an efficient and kind manner that put me first. The menu is well provided with food for dietary requirements and staff are well informed about them. Everything is provided for and the hotel itself is beautiful. Highly recommended.

A good central hotel with friendly staff. Next to Lincoln castle and Cathedral. One of the best breakfast choice menus that will give a fantastic start to the day. Downside is going up a very steep hill from the railway station to reach it. Plus being central can occasion be impacted by the street especially in the morning. Earplugs advised

Wonderful hotel right next to the Cathedral, the steep hill and the castle. Close to everything else. Lots of shopping and eating options right there. Nicely appointed room, large clean bathroom, and a great shower. Front desk staff member was very helpful and attentive. Our room was facing the cobble stone street, which was lovely, maybe a little bit noisy with revellers (but it was a Saturday night). Would definitely stay here again.

Had a fantastic overnight stay at the White Hart. The room was spacious and well maintained, bathroom was huge and the bed was so comfortable! Breakfast was amazing with a wide choice. It’s perfectly located if you want an evening around the Bailgate area. Can’t wait to return!

The room was noisy, both from inside and outside the hotel. The room that slept 4, has one sofa bed which is unfit for purpose. Breakfast was included but it was awful with very small portions. We had to wait a long time for the food, tables were not laid properly and no staff around to ask to sort it out - we shared 1 spoon between 3 people. I'll never go back or recommend this to anyone. There is also no on-site parking as advertised. You need to pay £10 per 24 hours nearby and walk to the hotel.
