Western Inn & Suites

I will never stay at the western inn and suites in Osage, Iowa again. The people that was running the hotel weren't friendly at all. Could hardly understand what the man was saying because he sounded like he had a mouthful of rocks, and spoke English fast and was unfriendly to talk to. The woman was more understanding of the English language. The carpets in the room were nasty, hardly vacuumed and the carpets outside in the hallway had holes in it. The push bars on the back door handles had clear tape on it, stuck almost all the time. The front doors were hard to open. The breakfast sucked big time, waffle maker was nasty kept, the waffle mixture was nasty. The people that ran the hotel were not very helpful in getting the breakfast. The breakfast tasted nasty. The cereal was never freshen or changed, orange juice tasted nasty, coffee was weak. The rooms were not very comfortable and the mattress needed to be changed out. The sheets had holes in them and the room service had to be told change the sheets or the sheets never got changed. I would fire the Camel Jockeys that are there and hire English speaking people. They charged me for a extra day that I wasn't supposed to be charged for. I had a stay from Monday the 8th until the Monday the 15th, so they charged me for an extra day on the 15th. We checked out on the 15th and no one was at the front desk to get the keys. Had to call them from the front desk to check out

If you like a great price, this is the place to stay. The building generally needs fixing up and modernizing, but it was acceptable to me because I just wanted an affordable place to sleep overnight. The desk guy was nice and very accommodating. Breakfast was decent and most of it was unofficially available even though we had to check out at 5:15 am.

If you are looking for a decent clean room, a fairly comfy bed and hot shower for a low price, stay here. It was about half of what the other motel in town wanted and was just fine. The breakfast was pretty good, though the juice machine wasn’t working. It was in a good location. A long walk or short drive to Subway.
