Room was perfect for a family of grandfather 2 children and their mother. The staff was friendly responsive to guests need and very helpful. The two pools were ideal for children and adults. Being right on the beautiful beach was great. Parking was a bit tricky on the week ends because of additional attendees for the entertainment. Otherwise convenient. Highly recommend the Thunderbird

The resort is older and smaller than most but pretty well maintained. No restaurant on property but looks like it will be done soon. Several restaurants are within walking distance. Our kitchenette room was great! Clean and comfortable. We had poolside room. Music every day and night is nice. Pool is pretty big and in good shape. Lots of loungers. Overall a great little place to stay.

The Thunderbird was a great resort, perfectly situated on the beach with a tiki bar and pool. The rooms were nice and clean. But, you can hear the visitors next door pretty clearly through the walls. The hot tub was not working and unfortunately the night we arrived there was so much rain the area outside the rooms flooded. The staff was great and got it cleared away after the rain. I wish the area around had a few more food options. I would recommend it for a nice beach getaway!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Thunderbird. The view from our balcony awesome. Live music every day from around noon to nine. The tiki bar was great.Close to everything. The room and facilities were very clean. Beach was great. The best thing was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating and Nicole at the front desk was really nice and helpful.

The rooms were very nice, and well stocked. The staff was wonderful and Rosa our cleaning lady was amazing! The man sitting outside the resort for parking was great! The grounds were well maintained. Very nice to have music all day and bands on Sunday. The Board walk was nice and lots of eating and shopping options in walking distance. The beach is beautiful. A long walk to the water and no resort chairs. Quite expensive to rent every day. Now for the issues. The pools are in dire need of repair. The pools are peeling and at times dirty. I asked if they would clean the pool. They need to be cleaned better, and checked more frequently. Was there for a week and only seen the pool cleaner once and he didn't do a complete vaccum of the pool. A little shocked!!! Children in the Hot Tub and eating even though there is a clear sign that they are not allowed in the hot tub. Would be nice if they had a foot shower when you get off the beach so people don't use the pool to wash the sand off. Also, people used the pool that was not staying there which was quite upsetting. We did enjoy ourselves, but it would have been much better if the pools were updated, repaired, cleaned better and if adults could use the hot tub.

Staff was very helpful, friendly, and available as needed. Location near beach, boardwalk, and restaurants can't be beat. Two pools, live music, and bar on site are a plus. The new renovations made the "suite" rooms look very nice. However, we experienced at least 15 live and dead palmetto bugs (cockroaches) throughout our time.

We love the Thunderbird and have been coming here for years for our celebrations. The new rooms are beautiful, but I did see a couple roaches in the bathroom. The floor was quite Sandy.We had to keep our shoes on the whole time to keep our feet from getting filthy. So i'm guessing the floors weren't swept or vacuumed. That was kind of disgusting. But the rest of our stay was quite fun. We love the bands and the music and the bar!

Staff was friendly and the area is nice. Hotel room had nice bedroom and living room area. However, floor was extremely dirty as well as the bathroom. Hair in the shower and on the floor in the bathroom. After walking around the room, feet were very dirty. Cleaning staff could use some work. Wouldn’t stay again.

Came for some family time and the experience really exceeded my expectations. Front desk was super friendly and helpful with my questions. Too bad the restaurant wasn’t open yet but plenty of restaurants walking distance. Sloppy joes and R Bar were the two we went to and food was amazing and great prices. Just all around great place to go I’d love to go again. It was my daughter’s 21 bday and both bars out back had the nicest and welcoming bartenders . The room was very spacious and the kitchenette was bigger than expected. I brought dishes incase and they had dishes and pans everything you need. Just well worth the price of the room.

I don't think I've ever been more happy to leave a hotel. Too many outdoor bars, drunk people and way too loud live music. I guess the owners want to make even more money from all of that rather than investing in a property that is getting horribly deteriorated. Bathrooms are awful, with our 2 queen room having a 2 foot wide sink counter with no room for toiletries. The bathtub drained slowly when having a shower. Mattresses feel like they should have been replaced 10 years ago and pillows aren't much better. Cleaning staff were great but, for some reason, would only give 2 washcloths per day (not much for 2 women in a 2 queen room.) I found the front staff slightly arrogant and not horribly friendly. Coffee, in an urn is offered in the lobby, but sits for ages before more is made (and just powdered creamer.) The front entrance door does not automatically open and you struggle big-time to bring your luggage through. Parking is minimal and chaotic if the hotel is full. Overall, it was not a great time.

We stayed at Thunderbird this past week. The rooms are nice and clean. The bed was not very comfortable. I woke up every morning with a stiff back. I liked that it was right on the beach and there was music every day which kept us entertained. The next time I go to Florida, though I will look for a place that is closer to the water. It was a pretty long walk to get there from the Thunderbird.

From the front desk to the cleaning staff, everyone was helpful and nice. Cleaning staff was always around and kept our room supplied and clean. We had a minor mix up on the room based on accessibility for our 91 year old mom and the front desk made adjustment's and all worked out well. Thank you to the front desk!

The young woman that checked us in was not very nice to say the least. She gave us two bottles of water in a gift bag. Told us how to get to the room. No mention of the tiki bar, live music or that they even provide towels at the pool. We loved the property its self, old Florida smaller hotel, bright colors, well worn: that was fine. As someone who is in management for customer service, this was unacceptable. Smile, greet the customer, inform them, thank them. It was actually very sad; we didn’t really feel welcome,. I was just an inconvenience she had to deal with. My grandparents owned the Buccaneer that was next door to the thunderbird back in the 60s&70s. I went for an experience of nostalgia, couldn’t even get a smile. Was checked out by the same girl - still a delight(sarcasm). For almost $300 off season, I would expect a kinder, more welcoming experience, to say the least.

If you're good with a no frills stay this is the place. We have been here twice, first visit we had a room on the 3rd floor. The elevator only goes to the 2nd floor so we had to carry our luggage to the 3rd floor. Second trip we had a suite on the 2nd floor, again no elevator because it was in the older building. On our first visit the service was better. The second visit we had to call several times before we got help. We didn't have maid service 3 out of 7 days and had to call multiple times before they had someone clean the room When we came back to our room there was no toilet paper and again it took 3 calls to get some. The pool area is great and the beach was wonderful.

I liked the live music, seating area was good for relaxing and very quiet at night which was nice. Front desk was very rude and snippy for everything. Was charged another $197 when I checked in and that was to use the pool, WiFi, beach, etc. I’ve never heard of such thing and never had an issue like that before. Everything was already paid in full and it included all amenities in my total price when booking months ago, as it should. I thought at first maybe it was a deposit and just needed a card on file in case of damages, cleaning, etc and I had asked if that’s what it was for but nope. Went down to ask for a paper that I had signed and they would not give it to me and told me I’m not allowed to see it or have it. Went down before checking out to get a coffee that is complimentary and supposedly offered 24/7 and I was trying to make a cup and the lady shouted and said that it was empty and she turned it off already. Parking is an absolute nightmare! Very limited and hard to get a parking spot. Could barely drive through the parking lot due to cars being parked in front of other cars and very tight squeeze. Pool was absolutely disgusting and was never once cleaned during the whole trip. Never got my receipt from checking out, which they asked if I wanted, I said yes. Other than the rude front desk staff and the dirty pool, it’s overall a good stay.

Most of the hotels at St Pete/ Treasure Island beach have been there for 50 years. The rooms have been updated and it was a great place for our Thanksgiving stay. Love the walkway on the beach and Publix is short walk.

This property was better than expected. Super clean and the room was beautifully updated. We had a golf front view and it was gorgeous. The balcony is very large. The staff could not have been nicer and the pool area was fantastic. We enjoyed the Tiki Bar each night. The only thing that would have made it absolutely perfect would be to have a little breakfast options to eat in the morning. We will definitely be back!

Was not a terrible experience, had two nice pools and several activities on site. Really enjoyed the water aerobics, great instructor and class. Access to beach was close by and easily accessible. But the hotel really needs upgrading and there’s no restaurant on site
