Riverside Apartments & Hotel

We have had multiple issues when we checked in. Two of the major issues were as per below : 1) The Down lights in the rooms were not working. 2) The gym and pool area was locked all three times when we went there.

Fantastic position next to the river . No gym on site but they give a pass to a fantastic full gym 100 mtrs away. Excellent reception staff . Older building but well maintained. Clean

Property is old. Back street view

Only problems very few cooking utensils and no barbecue. Hair dryer needs updating.

There was so much noise from ill fitting windows, ancient refrigerators, exhaust fan that can’t be turned off, street cleaners at 3.30am, rubbish collection bins at 4.30am and the playground opposite the building I didn’t get any sleep at all The toilet wasn’t cleaned properly and the manager had no idea how to run the bookings We paid over $300 per night for the worst experience we have ever experienced

Good location in the town. But only dejected rooms have water view. A little tired, uncomfortable bed , but detail edge cleaning poor. Have a look under your bed if you dare . Gym and pool was closed and no reception out of business hours

Property was excellent however the pool needed possibly to be a bit warmer for a heated pool.

Our 2 bedroom apartment on 1st floor was clean, well maintained and had a nice big spa bath. Nespresso coffee machine with plenty of capsules provided. Some noise at night, as this is in the centre of Ballina.

Feels like someone’s little apartment. Blinds were so dusty. Room was fine. Location is great.

Probably the biggest one bedroom apartment I've ever stayed in. Great location in the heart of Ballina. Cleanliness was an issue. The bin in the bathroom had not been emptied and there was hair on the bathroom floor. The place could do with a good dusting. However the good easily outweighed the bad including a huge balcony and we would definately stay here again.

The room was a good size and very clean. Shower was pretty good with plenty of hot water. Probably the best part was the large balcony which was great for a relaxing drink in the late afternoon. It wasn't a great view just overlooking the main street, but we didn't pay for a view so didn't care. Great location in Ballina very handy to shops and restaurants.

Great view and good layout for families. Plenty of space and very convenient. Some parts of the unit were filthy. Dining table had built in grime we had to scrub to get off before we could eat. There was not enough dinner plates or cutlery despite checking with management before checking in as we were having a family dinner.

I found this to be a great location and nice place to stay. There were 2 things that stopped me from giving a 5 star review. Firstly, Throughout the place there was a very strong smell of tobacco. This was an obvious smell inside the lifts and walking through the corridor to my room. I had to close my windows and doors to stop the smell from entering my room. Secondly, I found clothes hanging on the back of the bathroom door from the previous occupants. This raises questions to how much attention the cleaners take when preparing the room for the next guest. Besides the two negative feedbacks, I would book here again hoping for a better experience.

Staff at reception excellent. Very professional, ed and helpful. Large apartment, very clean. Walking distance to everything you need.

3rd time staying at the hotel, nothing changes! Great view of the Richmond river. Convenient location. Will stay again

The room was clean and comfortable. Requested a water view by email and also asked questions about check in via email but did not get a reply. When I telephoned about check in the person was helpful. The water view was lovely from the front of the hotel, unfortunately we had a car park view from the back of the hotel.

We stayed in a two bedroom unit with river view. It was huge and very comfortable. Air con was great as well.

The size of the apartment exceeded our expectations. Great position looking over the river and no need to use the car. Would stay again.

Nothing like it used to be under previous management! Arrived late at night to a room with about three sheets of toilet paper in roll and no more in cupboards and no free-to-air tv channels. Mentioned to reception next day … two rolls of paper delivered and put on desk near door, but no effort to address tv other than put “instructions” (which don’t match the tv controls by the way!) on top of the rolls! Really poor effort! Daily Housekeeping was supposed to be included - it occurred once only in a three night stay and consisted of making bed and changing towels - no vacuum, cleaning bathrooms etc. Hygiene not a priority at all. Room 405 was incredibly noisy. Industrial bins emptied in alley behind the building at 4am each morning and could hear band at hotel until midnight as well. None of these things are necessarily the hotel’s fault, but these were nothing compared to the 630am wake-up from a fire alarm in the building. After 10 minutes of not seeing a fire warden or getting any instructions, I called the emergency reception number … they did not even know an alarm was going off so I had to hold phone up for them to hear it. Their response - “you can head to the street if you are worried” … but can’t use the lift and no way to get out of fire stairs until basement … which then has no way to get to street unless you are in a car so it triggers the automatic door! No fire warden, no instructions - they just didn’t care! Used to be so much better … not recommended now!

Loved the Sunset, Great service by the Manager he was a great help.

We liked the secure parking. We booked through Expedia, but we needed to shift our booking to the next night. We contacted the property to change the booking, rather than through Expedia. Big mistake. The property accepted the change, but sent us no confirmation. I requested a confirmation via email. No answer. I called them and then received a confirmation email, but it claimed we would be charged for the room on check in. We had already been charged by Expedia. We emailed the property and requested a confirmation that the room was fully paid. No responce. We contacted their head office, who called the property and verbally confirmed that no money was owing. We arrived after their front desk had closed. A sign on the front door stated that late check ins would receive a text telling them how to access their room key. We had received no text. Finally, by contacting their 'emergency number,' we were able to access our room. A lot of hassle!

This hotel is very well situated near the town centre, restaurants and the sea. The room was very clean Dated decor but comfortable, we had a large outdoor (without the sea view) and that was nice Bed comfortable Friendly arrival
