Marenaz Oceanfront Resort

I will start with the good: nice, quiet location with beach access and good-size rooms with nice furniture and good beds. Courteous and helpful employees. The bad: the road to the resort is in extremely poor conditions, with 8 ft. diameter potholes that made driving there very difficult. At one point we thought we had taken the wrong turn...Water in rooms not potable (in spite of there being a coffeemaker) and no notice to warn guests. Restaurant is mediocre and mostly seafood and the kitchen is understaffed, so on Christmas Eve we had to wait 30 minutes in between dishes. It claims to be a resort, but there are no activities for guests (except for massage, which was good), which is a shame, because with such a nice beach it would have been great to do yoga, or surfing lessons, or paddle-boarding. No on-site shop for snacks or necessities, and we were lucky to have a rental car to go to the next town to get our shopping. Under good management, this place could be great...

Amazing resort we were thrilled with so many aspects!!! Perfect location, quiet beach, lovely grounds and amazing bungalow!!Fabulous staff and great food!!!

Wonderful beachfront hotel. Tranquil and relaxing. Good restaurant for breakfast and the evening and if you have a car there are many roadside restaurants and bars close by. We did have a slight hiccough in that on arrival for a one week stay, we found out that our last night was a double booking. However, thr hotel put us up for that last night at a very nice closeby hotel that they also owned. Not ideal, of course, but the hotel staff handled the whole thing very professionally and helpfully, sometimes you just have to roll with the hiccoughs on holidays and the staff made it almost seamless.

Nice views Staff friendly Rooms are nice

Excellent food and service , staff very friendly. Close to the beach. The one negative was lots of bonfires on and off site but left a horrible smell which stopped us been able to sit outside a couple of nights. Would be nice to have a shuttle bus to local amenities for those not hiring a car.
