Staying at Azzurretta was the highlight of our trip to Puglia and we couldn't have been happier with our choice! We spent 5 days there exploring all the wonders of the area. The hotel has so much charm and history, the rooms are huge, comfortable and are kept incredibly clean. The rooftop terrace is a wonderful space to relax, have a cocktail & enjoy the views or like me, do early morning yoga in total peace. The owner, Tullio is a wonderful guy who is super knowledgeable about all things Puglian and loves to share this knowledge with his guests and make recommendations for places to go and restaurants to eat at. I've actually never stayed anywhere with a nicer or more helpful owner than Tullio. Breakfast on the terrace was our favourite part of the day. Not just because the variety of delicious homemade foods, but the woman who serves them, Sedita, is delightful and greets you each day with the biggest smile ever. She's an absolute gem. We spent 4 days in Monopoli before Lecce and actually wish we'd spend the whole 9 days at Azzurretta and made day trips from there. Very good quality room restored in historic building. Spacious room, very clean, good bed, good shower (except it was quite tiny). Good location in Lecce old town. Nice rustic roof terrace for lounge area and breakfast. But definitely the best was our host Tullio, his heart warming attitude made us feel so welcome and special. He really makes this accommodation stand out from the rest.
