I would say the only issue we had was the car park over the road we had parked in only takes card and not cash now I had lost my bank card the night before and only had cash, thankfully a kind lady used her card to pay for the parking and I had given her the cash. So if you do use the car park either make sure you do take another card just in case of my circumstances.

Spacious rooms, clean, breakfast good, front desk staff tried to be helpful however no authority. Noisy club music? til 5am, for us Oldies too much and little sleep. A couple of exterior booking sites state free parking which is incorrect. These last 2 comments would encourage us not to stay again.

Nice clean hotel that included free cooked breakfast. Comfortable and clean bedroom Location was perfect with off site parking and the train station both a minutes walk away. Close to Newport market with its incredible food court and close to music venue Le Pub which was reason for our stay

Lots of car parking areas and the train station all within a few minutes walk.Great selection for breakfast-Scrambled eggs,Sausages, bacon, hashbrowns,mushrooms ,tomatoes. Toast,,cereal etc.Very polite staff.slight noise from bar or nightclub next door but it didn't affect us at all.Great price-really easy to get into Cardiff.Would definitely stay again

So bad it was laughable. Impolite welcome from the staff, no facilities open in the ground floor i.e. coffee bar /drinks machine, stains on the bedroom wall (not human, but we had to check), and t-bags thrown onto the table with no coverings /box. Bed linen was clean, as was the bathroom, but we were awake most of the night due to adjoining nightclub, and thereafter fellow guests talking and banging doors at 4am. Plus, no staff in reception on departure - so we couldn't get back into the hotel after we'd been out for a coffee.

First impression of the hotel was terrible, 3 guys sitting at the front desk very intimidating, hardly spoke word of English and not very friendly. Bar wasn't open and downstairs was all closed off. Room itself was nice but only one mug and a tea bag for 2 people. I asked for more but never received. Overall the reception people made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed.

Room was very spacious. Bath was a bonus. Parking next door in NCP carpark was only £7.95 for 24 hours. Literally on Newport high street next to all the shops. Only one complaint, the breakfast could have been hotter

No welcome on arrival. Smashed card machine. Room was dirty, moved the bed to revover something dropped, disgusting under there, so much rubbish. Chewing gum in the sink plug hole. Loud music til 0400 thanks to a club outside, admittedly not the hotels fault, but dont go there expecting a decent nights sleep.

The area is very central, so can be quite noisy, there is a night club near the hotel, it was very loud on Friday night. Our room was not very clean tbh, the trash bin was not emptied after a previous guest and the bathroom required a better clean. But overall it was ok, bedlinen were clean, towels were new and fluffy, thank you for bottled water in the room, it's a very nice thought.

I suggest avoiding that hotel if anyone needs to stay over in this area for a few reasons. 1. It's well situated if you're going for a night out, there are clubs and bars just around the corner which start at 10:30ish and you get the low base sounds even up on the third floor. 2. The shower is as powerful as a hose pipe if someone kinks it, but this is good considering the shower drains incredibly slowly, turning into a foot spa after a couple of minutes. 3. The room cleanliness is somewhat to be desired with hairs on the pillows, and in the bed itself but worst of all in the foot of the bed what appears to be flakes of skin. Needless to say, I slept with coat covering a pillow and used the remaining dry towels as a blanket.

Arrived at hotel to terrible stench which I am guessing was a drainage smell. This smell continued up to the third floor. Thankfully we could not smell it in our room. We did not go for breakfast as the thought of sitting down to eat in the smelly environment would have made us sick. Apart from that, hotel is very central and room was clean & comfortable.

Hotel poorly managed staff rude cannot take responsibility. Was put in a severely damp room with damp patch hidden by spair bed and curtains. My clothes that were on spair bed damaged by mould over 4 days. Staff took no responsibility and refused contact details of managers - extremely rude and uncaring. Second time around was put in a room with no signal then moved to another with broken chair that they failed to change 2 days. Room NOT cleaned as policy is clean after 3 days. Disguting!!!

Not recommended. Very noisy nightclub music until around 3 am. Room was boiling hot with no AC and windows which are unable to be opened. Initially no toiletries in the room until I asked. Bed was comfortable but bathroom had not been cleaned prior to check in. Disappointing experience.

Decent, if basic, hotel. Room was clean, modern and well decorated. Bathroom and shower also fine. However, despite being booked in for bed and breakfast, no food was to be seen when I went to the dining area and there were no staff around (including at the very basic reception desk) to take this up with.

Nice room with everything you might expect in a hotel: bed, desk, en-suite shower room, kettle with tea/coffee. The TV was new enough to work with my Android phone so could play content off that. It was all clean and shiny as it appeared to be newly opened. My view from the 3rd floor looked over rooftops but went quite a long way into the distance so not unpleasant. There was food available, but I didn't try it. It is very conveniently located for the town centre amenities: Rail station, shops, restaurants, and was a very short walk to the river. While not the cheapest in town, it did seem pretty good value when I stayed (weekday, just before Christmas).

This hotel does have some superb benefits not least the excellant location: whiich is in the city centre and 2 mins walk from Newport train station. The matrress was so comfy that it was easy to get to sleep (bar Friday, see below) The room was very spacious, a genorouss size with an accessable toilet. This was just what i asked for with handy hand rails in the bathroom. The staff were mostly friendy and polite, however as i found out on morning of departure, the front desk is not always manned, so help from hotel staff can be hit and miss. Unfortunatly the emergancy call button beside the bed was hanging loose from fitting, and the leg on the bottom of the toilet hand rail fell of when trying to lift thiss up. Housekeeping did not put a protective sheet over matress, therefore i had to sleep on the matress itself. The noise from the night club, wich was outside my winow, was intense. As a result i did not get to sleep until 4am., i later discoveredd that the outer sash window was open with no way for me to close it. Finally there was a section of crpet on the main stairs that was peeling of, this is a major trip hazard and i can not believe was left in this state.

Got the job done for what I needed, but I can see every reason for people not to like it. Staff seemed like they didn't want to be there, the fittings in some of the fixtures and furniture in the room where loose, no WiFi password given despite access being advertised. Noisy area, but it's a Saturday night in Newport and I don't sleep well travelling anyway.

Breakfast was ok, but it would have been nice to have more variety. The coffee machine only dispensed hot water, leaving instant coffee as only available option. It would have been great to have a coffee machine that brewed fresh coffee or at least a simple coffee maker with whole beans. However, there were hot food options available for a traditional British breakfast, which I found to be very nice. The hotel is conveniently located near the train and bus stations, as well as a shopping center. The hotel itself is Ok. The room size is adequate, but the quality of the mattress leaves much to be desired; it is quite soft and not very comfortable. Nevertheless, considering the price, this hotel is a good option due to its strategic location and the availability of facilities to heat your food if you choose to bring meals. Not recommended. Very noisy nightclub music until around 3 am. Room was boiling hot with no AC and windows which are unable to be opened. Initially no toiletries in the room until I asked. Bed was comfortable but bathroom had not been cleaned prior to check in. Disappointing experience.

Checked into this hotel yesterday, I mean the hotel doesn’t even look like it’s completed work! The rooms are exactly the same design as premier inn. Air con wouldn’t work in my room. I was literally suffocating in the room as windows don’t open, and air con was faulty! I then called the receptionist who was extremely rude, asking me why I came there then! I mean you say crap like that to guests!

This hotel does have some superb benefits not least the excellant location: whiich is in the city centre and 2 mins walk from Newport train station. The matrress was so comfy that it was easy to get to sleep (bar Friday, see below) The room was very spacious, a genorouss size with an accessable toilet. This was just what i asked for with handy hand rails in the bathroom. The staff were mostly friendy and polite, however as i found out on morning of departure, the front desk is not always manned, so help from hotel staff can be hit and miss. Unfortunatly the emergancy call button beside the bed was hanging loose from fitting, and the leg on the bottom of the toilet hand rail fell of when trying to lift thiss up. Housekeeping did not put a protective sheet over matress, therefore i had to sleep on the matress itself. The noise from the night club, wich was outside my winow, was intense. As a result i did not get to sleep until 4am., i later discoveredd that the outer sash window was open with no way for me to close it. Finally there was a section of crpet on the main stairs that was peeling of, this is a major trip hazard and i can not believe was left in this state.

So bad it was laughable. Impolite welcome from the staff, no facilities open in the ground floor i.e. coffee bar /drinks machine, stains on the bedroom wall (not human, but we had to check), and t-bags thrown onto the table with no coverings /box. Bed linen was clean, as was the bathroom, but we were awake most of the night due to adjoining nightclub, and thereafter fellow guests talking and banging doors at 4am. Plus, no staff in reception on departure - so we couldn't get back into the hotel after we'd been out for a coffee.

As other reviews indicate, the hotel management changed recently so the photos on the website are not accurate Check-in was bizarre. No one there in the morning so I came back later. Guy handed me a card in letter envelope and pointed to the door. Did not ask me my name or anything else. Room was fine, but did not feel very clean or safe. No remote control for TV. I had a look for cutlery downstairs and found a very grimy cutlery tray. I booked two nights but I left after the first night.

It was OK but a bit hit and miss. Keys kept failing and one of our parties room's toilet was leaking. The receptionists didn't make it to the desk until midday so a lot of waiting around. Asked for tea and coffee for the room but it never came and some guy with an can of lager kept hanging around in reception! Clean though and the break fast was good.

Excellent service from the staff always pleasant with a smile. Good choice for breakfast which is included in the price. Rooms kept clean and comfortable beds. Easy access to the railway station which is about a 5/10 minute walk away. There is a NCP car park nearby although we did not use it as we had a rail rover ticket. Overall a very good and well positioned hotel to base yourself from. We have stayed here a number of years now and always find it good value for money and you are well looked after.

Breakfast was ok, but it would have been nice to have more variety. The coffee machine only dispensed hot water, leaving instant coffee as only available option. It would have been great to have a coffee machine that brewed fresh coffee or at least a simple coffee maker with whole beans. However, there were hot food options available for a traditional British breakfast, which I found to be very nice. The hotel is conveniently located near the train and bus stations, as well as a shopping center. The hotel itself is Ok. The room size is adequate, but the quality of the mattress leaves much to be desired; it is quite soft and not very comfortable. Nevertheless, considering the price, this hotel is a good option due to its strategic location and the availability of facilities to heat your food if you choose to bring meals. Nice clean hotel that included free cooked breakfast. Comfortable and clean bedroom Location was perfect with off site parking and the train station both a minutes walk away. Close to Newport market with its incredible food court and close to music venue Le Pub which was reason for our stay

The area is very central, so can be quite noisy, there is a night club near the hotel, it was very loud on Friday night. Our room was not very clean tbh, the trash bin was not emptied after a previous guest and the bathroom required a better clean. But overall it was ok, bedlinen were clean, towels were new and fluffy, thank you for bottled water in the room, it's a very nice thought.

I stayed here for 2 nights. Thursday and Friday night. The hotel is in the middle of town so it is very noisy because of the pubs and clubs playing their music until 3am. The hotel was a very nice place to stay and the room was very clean and modern. Breakfast in the mornings were continental but there was a good selection to choose from. Apart from the music in the early hours of the morning I would stay here again.

Very close to station & city centre but surprisingly quiet . Checked in in afternoon then not returning until after midnight was worried if key didn't open outside door wouldn't be able to get in but key was fine. The breakfast very basic but for overall price still cheap if you have to buy breakfast elsewhere

Room was very spacious. Bath was a bonus. Parking next door in NCP carpark was only £7.95 for 24 hours. Literally on Newport high street next to all the shops. Only one complaint, the breakfast could have been hotter

Newport was busy as there was a conference being held at the time of my stay. My usual hotel was fully booked so I stayed at the Belvilla, I could only book the assisted room as it was all that was available. It was very clean with a nice size bed which was very comfortable, room was clean and well presented. Good quality bed linen and towels, loads of coffee and tea . I had a great nights sleep and had a nice cooked breakfast in the morning which was included in the room price. Staff were very friendly and check in was a dream, breakfast was very well run even though the hotel was busy with all choices available and freshly cooked.

Rooms shabby NO breakfast which was included in price and nobody there to discuss this matter with. Central location but very noisy at night from local bars etc probably better suited for people just wanting a place to crash after a night out rather than a family.

Uma estadia bem tranquila, ficamos em 11 pessoas em quartos próximos, passamos dois dias e fomos super bem atendidos pelo Apinz que fez de tudo para melhorar a nossa estadia. O café da manhã foi muito bom, várias opções, muito bem feito. Nada a reclamar

Windows sealed shut, no fresh air in the room. Air conditioning didn’t work, reception would not provide us with a fan. Room booked for 3 people but only enough amenities for 2 people. Asked for extra pillows as only 1 provided per person, got told by reception they would give us some but when returning to the room nothing had been left and no one on reception. A staff member in the morning was rude to me as I had propped the door open with the chair as it was boiling inside. This was 10:30am when check out was 11am. The housekeeper demanded we shut the door as there were ‘guests sleeping’ but then proceeded to use the Henry Hoover in the room next door which was a lot noisier than we were. Overall an unpleasant experience and would not recommend.

It was all it needed to be... We were welcomed by friendly staff and they explained where to get our breakfast in the morning. Room had tea/coffee/ biscuits for us to use and a hair drier next to a lot up mirror which was nice. Location was very convenient as close to the train station. Breakfast was basic but I enjoyed it, staff were ready to cook eggs by request and other cooked items were available in the buffet. The beds were very comfortable.
