We came to stay the weekend to visit friends. The whole place was very nice and clean, but there was a weird chlorine stench to the whole place despite them not having a pool. It was not as bad in the room, but still very disturbing. I'm just assuming this is from too much bleach use but don't really know. I still highly recommend as it is really nice!

Beds were very comfortable, breakfast was good. However, there were men hanging out in the back parking lot, drinking and playing loud music, it kept us awake for most of the night. I call front desk about it and was told they would try to make them turn their music down but it didn’t work! They were pretty much wasted. When I pay $175 a night for a hotel I would love to have a peaceful nights sleep. I understand that it’s not the employees fault but it was a very restless night. Also, people roaming up and down the halls at 3:00 in the morning, yelling and screaming at each other!

Beds were very comfortable, breakfast was good. However, there were men hanging out in the back parking lot, drinking and playing loud music, it kept us awake for most of the night. When I pay $175 a night for a hotel I would love to have a peaceful nights sleep. I understand that it’s not the employees fault but it was a very restless night. This hotel did not have Wyndham signage on the building instead it had vinyl signs indicating that this was in fact the Wingate hotel. The clerk at check in was rude and unfriendly. She seemed as if we were bothering her by simply checking in. She did not tell us our room number or anything about the facility at all. The smell in the lobby was equivalent to the smell of a chlorine supply house. The smell was so strong and overbearing that it gave us headaches. The elevator was provided a dirty, noisy, very slow and scary ride to our floor. The buttons were caked in some substance that I opted to use a tissue to press the button to get us to our floor. Our room door only opened about 45° because it was not properly hung on the hinges so we had to shimmy in and out of our room with our bags. The shower curtain was disgustingly pink with mold and the shower head provided a trickle of water for our showers which we were provided only 2 towels that smelled as if they were not dried fully and smelled spoiled. The comforters were brown from filth or someone else’s body oils so we threw them onto the floor and only had a sheet to sleep with. The pillows were old and floppy and smelled awful as well. This was by far one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. I am so very disappointed. Absolutely Terrible.

Strange that they allow visitors company vehicles to occupy the driveway/drop off area. Crew members drinking beer and grilling out front. This behavior brings down the establishment a bit. Should have a side area for that not the main entrance.

I grew up here and was excited for the town when this property was built. However, in a very short time, this property has aged rapidly. I attribute some on the build quality and the rest on care and poor maintenance. It just didn't feel clean. The elevator made some worrisome noises. My bed was comfortable and appeared to have new sheets which was the one positive. I've attached some pics from the room (311). I didn't feel unsafe as it resides next to the Sheriff's department. The survey photo upload feature isn't working for me. I'll try to add them after I submit.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at here because it is decently close to the Ruston Ball Park. This time I was disappointed. Room smelled of cat urine and there were dirty spots on the comforter. Air was completely off when we got into the room. Just felt unclean and unkept. People on the third floor were constantly running around at 12:30- 1:30 at night. Nothing was done about it. Smelled of smoke in the hallways. Breakfast area was disgusting the next morning.

Filthy rooms and not secure facility. My bathroom was FILTHY. I was so uncomfortable I went to the store and purchased cleaning items and gloves. After the manager tried to hand me a single bottle of shower to shower. I have never seen a hotel this unkept. Also I locked my key in my room. The desk person gave me another key without even asking for my ID. Worst of all I found a hookah pen in my room that was not in the spot it was found when I checked in. All I know know that after I left my room and returned during the evening I came back and a vape pen was in the middle of the floor. I will never stay here again. The hotel from the lobby to the room smells stale. And simply things like doors and windows are also filthy.

This place is dirty and only one employee tending to the entire place at check in 6:30 pm. There was only one person again in the morning servicing the desk and cooking breakfast.

I’m not hard to please but between the front desk worker smoking and talking outside while we walk in with luggage to check in, the ac wasn’t on in the room when we got there (hot and smelly), toilet stains, really tiny pillows, and coffee supplies in the breakfast area not stocked properly, I wouldn’t go back

Hotel did not have our reservation when we arrived. Lady at front desk was very nice and apologetic. Called Hotels.com and they had to resubmit the reservation. This process took about 45-60 min. It was already 10:30 at night. We were so tired. Got to our room and it had a dirty diaper on the floor by the bed. Just terrible. We stayed and just left early. Again, the lady at the front desk was very nice and did what she could ti help.

This hotel did not have Wyndham signage on the building instead it had vinyl signs indicating that this was in fact the Wingate hotel. The clerk at check in was rude and unfriendly. She seemed as if we were bothering her by simply checking in. She did not tell us our room number or anything about the facility at all. The smell in the lobby was equivalent to the smell of a chlorine supply house. The smell was so strong and overbearing that it gave us headaches. The elevator was provided a dirty, noisy, very slow and scary ride to our floor. The buttons were caked in some substance that I opted to use a tissue to press the button to get us to our floor. Our room door only opened about 45° because it was not properly hung on the hinges so we had to shimmy in and out of our room with our bags. The shower curtain was disgustingly pink with mold and the shower head provided a trickle of water for our showers which we were provided only 2 towels that smelled as if they were not dried fully and smelled spoiled. The comforters were brown from filth or someone else’s body oils so we threw them onto the floor and only had a sheet to sleep with. The pillows were old and floppy and smelled awful as well. This was by far one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. I am so very disappointed. Absolutely Terrible.

Filthy rooms and not secure facility. My bathroom was FILTHY. I was so uncomfortable I went to the store and purchased cleaning items and gloves. After the manager tried to hand me a single bottle of shower to shower. I have never seen a hotel this unkept. Also I locked my key in my room. The desk person gave me another key without even asking for my ID. Worst of all I found a hookah pen in my room that was not in the spot it was found when I checked in. All I know know that after I left my room and returned during the evening I came back and a vape pen was in the middle of the floor. I will never stay here again. The hotel from the lobby to the room smells stale. And simply things like doors and windows are also filthy.

Our stay was great overall. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and it was a comfortable place to stay. Breakfast wasn’t the best, but it didn’t take away from how enjoyable our stay was. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect place to stay. A family member has lived in this town for over 30th years. I was so glad they had this hotel. Very convenient to my needs.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at here because it is decently close to the Ruston Ball Park. This time I was disappointed. Room smelled of cat urine and there were dirty spots on the comforter. Air was completely off when we got into the room. Just felt unclean and unkept. People on the third floor were constantly running around at 12:30- 1:30 at night. Nothing was done about it. Smelled of smoke in the hallways. Breakfast area was disgusting the next morning.

I like that it was pretty pleasant stay wasn't any noise had a Walmart next door had a police station next door. I would have preferred a tub instead of a shower. But I would definitely stay here again.

I grew up here and was excited for the town when this property was built. However, in a very short time, this property has aged rapidly. I attribute some on the build quality and the rest on care and poor maintenance. It just didn't feel clean. The elevator made some worrisome noises. My bed was comfortable and appeared to have new sheets which was the one positive. I've attached some pics from the room (311). I didn't feel unsafe as it resides next to the Sheriff's department. The survey photo upload feature isn't working for me. I'll try to add them after I submit.

The rooms were nice, beds comfortable but breakfast was below par. Very few options with moldy bread out to be served. No one replaced anything that ran out between 6:30-9:00 window.

I’m not hard to please but between the front desk worker smoking and talking outside while we walk in with luggage to check in, the ac wasn’t on in the room when we got there (hot and smelly), toilet stains, really tiny pillows, and coffee supplies in the breakfast area not stocked properly, I wouldn’t go back

We've stayed here 3 times now and there is still a very strange smell in the bottom floor and lobby of the hotel. We usually have to wait for staff to check us in as they have disappeared somewhere and 2 out of the 3 times we've stayed here the rooms have been clean. I think the staff is just not used to having so many people there and we usually come for holidays so they are a little unprepared for how many people come. But it's a decent stay for the cost so beggars can't be choosers.

The hotel appeared to look clean, but not clean. Bathroom was nasty tub was nasty. Carpetwas nasty and they showed us five rooms. All those is dirty and they have them out to be rented for someone to Sleep Inn. The only reason we did not leave because we were tired from driving and I was emotionally drained from getting ready for a funeral.

I want to thank the staff for allowing me to check in early so I could attend a funeral. Their kindness and accommodation during a difficult time were greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, when I returned later, I was very disappointed to be greeted by a strong marijuana odor as soon as I stepped off the elevator. The smell was overwhelming and detracted from what had otherwise been a positive experience. While I am grateful for the compassion shown by the staff, management should address this issue to ensure a comfortable environment for all guests. Because of the mixed experience, I am giving this stay 2 stars.
