It is situated on the Romney Marsh, a unique and beautiful area of flat, low-lying land that stretches from Kent to Sussex. The village is known for its long, sandy beach, which is backed by dunes and overlooked by the imposing presence of the Dungeness nuclear power station to the west. The beach is popular with families and is a great spot for swimming and sunbathing. In addition to the beach, Greatstone-on-Sea has a number of other attractions for visitors. The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, a miniature steam railway, has a station in the village and provides a scenic and unique way to explore the area. The nearby Dungeness National Nature Reserve is a must-visit for nature lovers, with its diverse range of plants and wildlife.
