Hotel Eden Palace au Lac

We've stayed at Eden Palace for two nights, liked our spasious room and balcony, king size bed. Great location, near the lake, casino, ferry terminal, a lot of shops and restaurants around. Parking is limited, we got lucky, there was a spot available. Do recommend!

We booked a Family Room to have some extra space but we were allocated a Standard Room at check-in. It took much insistence that we didn't want to be downgraded (unless we were offered a discount) and the hassle of being assigned a second Standard Room before the receptionist begrudgingly offered us a Deluxe Room instead. The Deluxe Room was very nice, but a lot of time and energy was spent going back and forth to rooms and the reception desk to get it sorted. We picked the hotel as it was a short walk away from the Montreux Jazz Festival which would be running during our visit. We wanted to be away from the noise and chaos of the festival but still have good access and the hotel is ideally located from this perspective. However, the Casino next door was holding an all-day pool party on the day of our arrival and had loud music blaring all day (sadly not jazz!). It was impossible to relax by the hotel pool, enjoy lunch on the terrace or relax in our room due to the excessive noise. Whilst clearly not the hotel's fault, it was a scheduled event and we should have been pre-warned about this before our stay as it severely impacted our enjoyment. Service was so-so. Some of the staff were OK, others clearly not suited for customer service roles. Check-out wasn't much better, we were charged for Tourist Tax despite having paid it on arrival, luckily we still had the receipt. Again, was resolved but it took work to achieve.

Stod att parkering och gratis men det fanns bara 8 platser som var tagna. Ingen aorconditioning bara en fläkt högt ljud från gatan sov med öronproppar gör att dämpa något. Man ska be om rum mot havet det sa de vid utchecknkng

Die Reservation des Parkplatzes hat leider nicht geklappt.

The location on the lake is perfect. The hotel is showing its age. The main Stairway is dangerous since the last step has a different height wich makes it a trip hazard!

Sehr nettes Personal, Zimmerpreis und Ftühstück teuer, teuer. Hotelbeschreibung heisst Parkplatz vorhanden, jedoch nicht kostenpflichtig. Sollte im Prospekt aufgeführt sein.Balkon desolater Zustand. Badezimmer altmodisch.

Heruntergekommenes historisches Hotel. Die Hygiene ist fatal und das Management umprofessionell und absolut nicht gästeorientiert. Sehr sehr schade - dieses Hotel wird vom Management heruntergewirtschaftet und die Gäste tragen den Schaden mit einem sehr enttäuschenden Aufenthalt. Das Hotel wirbt mit einem Pool, was der Grund für unsere Buchung war. Dieser ist jedoch ausser Betrieb (steht nirgends). Das Hotel sagte, sie hätten diesbezüglich immer enttäuschte Gäste und wir sollten doch das Frühstück geniessen. Naja, das Frühstück ist sehr spärlich, nicht schmackhaft, die Eier trocken wie Sand aus der Tüte und auf unserem Tisch befanden sich ca 10 Ameisen. Auf den Tischen lagen Papierfolien (auf der Stofftischdecke) welche mit einem dreckigen Lumpen nach jedem Gast abgewischt wurden, statt ersetzt wurden - ekelhaft. Ich unterstütze Nachhaltigkeit sehr, aber Hygiene geht einfach vor. Da vergeht einem der Appetit und erklärt auch die Ameisen. Zudem: Die Badewanne war voller Haare (anscheinend Hundehaare). Der Hotelmanager wollte uns dafür nicht entgegenkommen, da wir dies erst am Morgen wo wir duschen wollten sahen. Sie sagten wir seien selber schuld, da wir dies erst am morgen bemerkt haben. Dass es bei fehlender Hygiene kein Pardon gibt, scheint der Manager nicht zu verstehen - als Hotelier sollte er es besser wissen. Ich hoffe das Hotel gerät bald in die Hände eines professionellen Managements - denn es wäre schade wenn dieses Hotel weiter degeneriert.

Flott beliggende hotell! Vi hadde juniorsuite med balkong mot innsjøen og rommet var stort for 2 voksne og et barn. Hotellet bærer preg av fordums prakt, men det trenger en oppussing: teppene og møblene generelt er veldig slitt, badet er gammelt (men fungerer greit). Aircondition fungerte dårlig. Veldig imøtekommende ansatte og alle snakket engelsk. Fint basseng! God frokost med meget godt og variert utvalg.

The location is the best thing about this hotel and makes up for being average in other ways. Beautiful views and right in the centre- we stayed here to be close to the Christmas market. Rooms are norhing special and our bathroom wasnt cleaned properly. The second night we were awoken about 4am from the staff talking loudly in the corridors and moving things around which went on for hours! The reception areas look pleasant, we didnt eat in the restaurant.

The location is incredible - right next to the Christmas markets and the views of the lake and mountains are unbelievable. The staff was very kind and helpful as well. The rooms were quite stark and sterile however. Nothing on the walls, no coffee maker or refrigerator - really bare bones. Some of the tiles on the balcony were broken, which made a bit of a tripping hazard. The bathroom was functional but nothing special but the worst thing was the awful smell of urine and pet dander that would not go away. Our room literally smelled like the worst part of a hospital. The hotel is lovely but it really needs a good facelift!

Our booking was for three. The room was absolutely not set up to accommodate three. Extremely tiny room. We were promised a third bed as per our booking. There was no space in the room to out the third bed. There were Flies in the room- terrible.

Super clean and well maintained hotel. Rooms are pretty, spacious, and bathrooms are a little outdated, but clean, well maintained, and fit the charm of the old building. Right on the strip where you can exit the back of the hotel right onto the lake. Walking distance to everything.

Bra läge. Stora rum. Wi-Fi uselt, både på rummet o allmänna ytor.

Great location for this retro looking hotel. If you depend on air conditioning, this is not your hotel.

Amazing view and the really comfortable beds the receptionist was really helpful and friendly overall really good experience

Great staff. Comfy bed. Large room with balcony facing the lake. Breakfast was good but not outstanding. Poor WiFi (slow), inconsistent hot water in the showers.

Lovely property but older- a/c is loud and right next to bed and it ran all night but kept the room reasonably cool. Even though I was on the 1st floor I had a lovely lake view. Nicely located on the promenade- close to everything. Very pleasant stay overall

Ein schönes altes Hotel an einer super Lage. Im Zimmer gibt es keinen Wasserkocher und auch keine Kaffemaschine. Dafür jeden Tag Wasser.

Good location, 15 min walk from Montreux train station. Lakeside. Comfortable room,very clean. No tea and coffee facilities in the room however which was disappointing.

Had a bit loud room from street noise. Probably the rooms vary a lot depending on the floor if it's facing the lake or the street.

Lovely old style hotel on the banks of the lake. Big airy rooms. Staff were all very friendly and breakfast was good.

We loved everything about this hotel! Greeted by George who was terrific as was the other staff. Room was beautiful with a small but gorgeous view of Lake Geneva. Close to the Promonade, the bus, shopping, etc. We highly recommended!

Ich habe alles im Voraus bezahlt. Beim check-in wollten sie alles nochmals einkassieren ! Dann musste ich alle Daten nochmals aufschreiben, obwohl ich das schon gesandt habe. Das Parking wurde schlecht erklärt, als ich ein 2. Mal fragte wurde die Frau am Empfang arrogant. Ich hatte den Hotelschlüssel aus Versehen im Auto gelassen, fragte an der Réception um einen 2. Schlüssel. Eine andere Frau sagte, sie gebe mir keinen 2. Schlüssel, ausser ich würde ihr Fr 500.- bezahlen. Der Receptionist gab mir dann doch noch den Ersatz-Schlüssel. Beim Frühstück war ich sehr früh, die Chef de Service hetzte die Mitarbeiter herum, sie rissen alle Tischtücher von den Tischen, um neu aufzudecken. Dabei hetzte sie die Mitarbeiter mit Worten herum - ich hatte keine Ruhe - es war total unabgenehm.

Fabulous hotel with a fabulous location. Staff was amazing, room was large for a european hotel and the breakfast was delicious.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We received a free upgrade to room with sea-view (Thank you!). The location is awesome. It's convenient for shopping, dining, bus stops, railway stations. And most of all, it's right next to the lake! The view from balcony is unbeatable. Breakfast is served with a big varieties, and dinner is superb. Would love to stay next time in town.

Receptionist was unfriendly, not welcoming, caused many people were arguing very loud around us.

This was a short walk from the train station and right on the lake front, even though the hotel looks old it has been kept lovely inside. Our room was fairly modern and maybe the bat

Netjes, maar wat ouderwets. Bedden waren prima. Personeel aan de receptie uiterst vriendelijk, personeel op het terras niet alert en niet snel. Ontbijt was niet bijzonder. Wel vers brood, maar koffie en sap uit een automaat. Gekookt eitje was groen.

Great breakfast, helpful staff. Room is bright and spacious. There is spacious dining room and hotel sitting area. Outside dining overlooking the water. Step outside the door and walk by the Lakeside for miles. Very nice hotel, we love it here.

Very friendly and nice staff. We booked last minute and they made it work out well! Amazing breakfast! Lake Geneva is right there, with great options for dinner. We walked to Cathey Chillon and took the train back. Beautiful place. Great and clean room.

We check in and noticed 1 room had broken AC. Went to lobby to request change and manager thought he was doing me favor in providing fans!! We did not pay almost $500 per room per night to have fans when they are advertising as they are a 5 star hotel and AC has been broken for days!! Guest were complaining for this issue at front desk and they were just giving excuse that AC broke the day before. BULLsh….!Breakfast was nasty, not even my kids could eat. The only good thing about stay was view from room. NEVER AGAIN!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!
