I realise that gushing about somewhere on a review site gives the impression that you are motivated by something other than the quality of the place but in this case, the Smaragdi Hotel was fantastic on every level. Primarily, it was Maria and Christina on the front desk - as well as their blonde-haired collage whose name I never got - who were so friendly and helpful to myself and family that it really made the holiday. The place itself has an amazing pool, handy bar and library and is in a really peaceful setting; the attention to detail (room fixtures, air-con, kettle, fridge) is also exceptional. Frankly, I'm loathe to let more people know about this place in case I never manage to get another booking but there you go, I have to be honest: it's an absolute treat of a hotel.

Such a beautiful hotel with a truly boutique feel. Rooms were lovely and very clean, the pool is fantatsic, always space available on sunbeds. 2 minutes from the beach and all of the wonderful local restaurants. Staff could not have been nore friendly and accomodating.

L'hôtel est un havre de paix tout en étant placé à 2 pas de plage et 5 de la rue commerciale (restaurant, commerce en tout genre). Un point d'honneur au partenariat avec le restaurant Safran où l'on peut bénéficier de réduction et de transats gratuits. La propreté est de mise et les installations sont très bien (bar ouvert presque à toute heure, coin piscine agréable, extérieur fleuri et bien agencé). Enfin, l'accueil par Maria doit être souligné car elle est au petit soin avec les touristes pendant tout le séjour avec de précieux conseils). Merci !

Best hotel for a quiet stay in Santorini directly on the beach and with easy access to bus to visit all the other villages. Maria, the owner of the hotel, along with all the staff, are so kind and will help you with anything you need. Beautiful site and rooms. Very clean hotel and super professional team. Very nice to have sunbeds for free at Safran restaurant as a guest of Smaragdi. Lots of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner in just a 2 min walk to the beach with a beautiful view. Perfect location to have best of both worlds, relaxation and exploring the island. Will definitely be back!

The staff are so friendly and attentive. We arrived well before check in but they still found us a room within an hour. Beautiful balcony view overlooking the pool. The rooms are clean, air conditioned and has a small fridge to store water and some food. The property is just steps to the beach and close to lots of great restaurants. The morning of check out, they accommodated a late check out, which was very appreciated. You can always store your luggage and still use their bathroom or shower. Do not hesitate to book here!

One of our favourite places we stayed during our vacation. Pool area was beautiful and well kept. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful (showed us how to get around, hired us transportation, etc.). Location was very convenient; a 5 minute walk to all the restaurants, shops, beach, and bus stop. Plus, by staying at this hotel you get a discount at one of the local restaurants plus free sun beds. The area is also a lot less crowded than other areas on the island. Highly recommend!

The hotel is so convenient for the beach and tavernas yet situated on a quiet back street. The staff are amazingly helpful and really make this hotel. Our ( standard) room was spacious and clean. Perissa is not the pretty side of the island but staying here is affordable and the hotel is well situated for the bus stop to take you to Fira and Oia . Staff were great at arranging taxis too - we visited pretty Red Beach (15 min taxi ride) The hotel has a lovely pool with bar which never felt overcrowded and we were able to use it and the showers after we had checked out and were awaiting our flight , a very thoughtful touch

Staff at the hotel were super nice! Hotel was clean and daily cleaning was good. Definitely recommend the hotel. Close to the beach. Only thing I would suggest to improve was that they only served toast at the bar, maybe adding fruit or something would definitely increase the convince.

La struttura è ben curata con una grande piscina sempre pulita e impeccabile,le camere vengono pulite tutti i giorni con cambio di biancheria. Personale gentile cordilale e sempre a disposizione del cliente. La proprietaria “Maria” ci ha fatto da guida turistica per tutta la settimana, ogni giorno ci ha consigliato qualcosa di nuovo da visitare,ci ha organizzato noleggio moto proprio a fianco alla sua struttura e i -Transfer- (in più parla in italiano). Absolutely best choice we could make picking this little gem. The pool area is peaceful, clean and lovely. There are always sun beds available. Toilets are exceptionally clean and also all areas. Daily housekeeping provided. The staff are very helpful and they are very pleasant and kind. The beach is 1min walk away. We have stayed in the economy room for 8 nights and it was more than enough for us. Highly recommended this hotel. Best wishes!

Hôtel propre et personne à l’écoute. Proche de la plage, des restaurants commerces etc. Il y a un arrêt de bus à 5 minutes à pieds de l’hôtel. La chambre était propre et correcte, cependant elle n’était pas bien isolée la porte d’entrée ne se fermait pas complètement et on entendait beaucoup le vent.

We had a fantastic week's stay in the Smaragdi hotel. Maria and her team were really welcoming And friendly hosts , greeting guests with genuine Smiles and so polite and helpful. The rooms were very nice and cleaned daily. The pool was lovely with plenty of sun loungers, and just a 5 minute stroll to the beach and taverna's. What more could you want for a week's holiday 😉 Thanks Paul and Siobhan McGarty.

The staff could not have been kinder. So helpful. Offered use of the property even after check out as our flight was late, including a shower area. Very quiet, sunny, beautiful property with private balcony. Very clean, comfortable beds, large rooms and painted beautiful. No coffee in room though but sweet little bar downstairs! ❤️

Smaragdi hotel is a great hotel! Our favourite part was the pool area and the dinning options nearby. The area around the hotel was a bit quieter and we had to walk down the beach to get to a more lively area. The staff were amazing and super accommodating! The only issue we had was the noises coming from the room above us. However, the staff happily moved us to a new room!

Cama e travesseiro mais confortável em toda minha vida. Quarto silencioso, amplo, frigobar ótimo, cofre grande e cabia meu laptop dentro sobrando espaço. Banheiro grande. Tudo funcionando, condicionador de ar, TV, WiFi, piscina com jacuzzi na sobra da árvore. Protegido do vento e pertíssimo da praia e mini mercados. Todos muito gentis. Tudo decorado e organizado nos mínimos detalhes. Esse é o hotel.

The property layout and pool area were great. Our room was large with a nice deck. The real icing on the cake was the friendliness and helpfulness of the reception staff! Maria tutored us on basic Greek phrases and couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our holiday from advice on the best places to visit to organizing bookings and transport.

Best hotel for a quiet stay in Santorini directly on the beach and with easy access to bus to visit all the other villages. Maria, the owner of the hotel, along with all the staff, are so kind and will help you with anything you need. Beautiful site and rooms. Very clean hotel and super professional team. Very nice to have sunbeds for free at Safran restaurant as a guest of Smaragdi. Lots of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner in just a 2 min walk to the beach with a beautiful view. Perfect location to have best of both worlds, relaxation and exploring the island. Will definitely be back!

Bella struttura, pulita e accogliente. Il personale è estremamente gentile, disponibile, proattivo, che ci ha dato anche ottimi consigli sull'isola e i dintorni. In reception c'è sempre qualcuno a disposizione. Nelle vicinanze c'è la fermata dell'autobus per Fira. Super consigliato!

The staff are so friendly and attentive. We arrived well before check in but they still found us a room within an hour. Beautiful balcony view overlooking the pool. The rooms are clean, air conditioned and has a small fridge to store water and some food. The property is just steps to the beach and close to lots of great restaurants. The morning of check out, they accommodated a late check out, which was very appreciated. You can always store your luggage and still use their bathroom or shower. Do not hesitate to book here!

The hotel is extraordinarily nice. We were there the first time (also first time on the island) and were happily impressed by our room, the service and everything else. The hotel is about 3 minutes away from Perissa Beach (the long black beach) which couldn’t be any better really. The staff of the hotel really goes the extra mile to meet customer satisfaction. When we arrived they were happy to get our room ready 4 hours in advance to the usual check-in time. They even helped us with our transfer back to the airport which we privately booked with Expedia - the hotel didn’t have anything to do with it - but still the reception staff helped us contact them when needed and provided their mail address for communication as we needed it - which really isn’t something they are obligated to do, but still they did to help us out quick and uncomplicated. We will definetly come back again!

The property layout and pool area were great. Our room was large with a nice deck. The real icing on the cake was the friendliness and helpfulness of the reception staff! Maria tutored us on basic Greek phrases and couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our holiday from advice on the best places to visit to organizing bookings and transport.

Samaragdi Hotel was an absolute pleasure to stay at. Friendly staff, clean rooms and less than 2 minute walk to the beach. They can assist booking excursions such as the Santorini volcano boat tour, which I highly recommend. I was upgraded to a pool view suite and it was stunning. They do not offer breakfast, but with so many options nearby, it’s not a problem. I would absolutely stay here again!

Struttura situata a circa 20 metri dal mare, sul lungomare più lungo dell’isola (Perissa Peryvolos). La struttura è ben curata con una grande piscina sempre pulita e impeccabile,le camere vengono pulite tutti i giorni con cambio di biancheria. Personale gentile cordilale e sempre a disposizione del cliente. La proprietaria “Maria” ci ha fatto da guida turistica per tutta la settimana, ogni giorno ci ha consigliato qualcosa di nuovo da visitare,ci ha organizzato noleggio moto proprio a fianco alla sua struttura e i -Transfer- (in più parla in italiano). Qualità prezzo penso non ci sia struttura migliore. La consiglio

L'hôtel est un havre de paix tout en étant placé à 2 pas de plage et 5 de la rue commerciale (restaurant, commerce en tout genre). Un point d'honneur au partenariat avec le restaurant Safran où l'on peut bénéficier de réduction et de transats gratuits. La propreté est de mise et les installations sont très bien (bar ouvert presque à toute heure, coin piscine agréable, extérieur fleuri et bien agencé). Smaragdi hotel is a great hotel! Our favourite part was the pool area and the dinning options nearby. The area around the hotel was a bit quieter and we had to walk down the beach to get to a more lively area. The staff were amazing and super accommodating! The only issue we had was the noises coming from the room above us. However, the staff happily moved us to a new room!

The hotel was lovely and in a fantastic location. The beach was a very short walk away (at the end of the road) and the choice of restaurants / bars, all within a short walk, were great. The hotel was lovely and the staff extremely helpful and welcoming. If I ever go back to Santorini, I wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again.

One of our favourite places we stayed during our vacation. Pool area was beautiful and well kept. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful (showed us how to get around, hired us transportation, etc.). Location was very convenient; a 5 minute walk to all the restaurants, shops, beach, and bus stop. Plus, by staying at this hotel you get a discount at one of the local restaurants plus free sun beds. The area is also a lot less crowded than other areas on the island. Highly recommend!

The hotel is so convenient for the beach and tavernas yet situated on a quiet back street. The staff are amazingly helpful and really make this hotel. Our ( standard) room was spacious and clean. Perissa is not the pretty side of the island but staying here is affordable and the hotel is well situated for the bus stop to take you to Fira and Oia . Staff were great at arranging taxis too - we visited pretty Red Beach (15 min taxi ride) The hotel has a lovely pool with bar which never felt overcrowded and we were able to use it and the showers after we had checked out and were awaiting our flight , a very thoughtful touch

Staff at the hotel were super nice! Hotel was clean and daily cleaning was good. Definitely recommend the hotel. Close to the beach. Only thing I would suggest to improve was that they only served toast at the bar, maybe adding fruit or something would definitely increase the convince.

Petit séjour mère fille, nous avons passé 4 jours extraordinaires… l’hôtel est très bien situé, son partenariat avec le restaurant aegean safran nous a permis de bénéficier gratuitement des beds beach… Personnel très agréable, toujours disponible et a notre écoute Le plus diffest d’en repartir ❤️

Really great hotel. Clean rooms, nice shower, and amazing friendly staff. Only 4 minutes walk to the beach, with complimentary sunbeds. Only minor issue is there is no onsite restaurant. They have an arrangement to get food delivered, but it would be nice to have a restaurant serving breakfast on site. Didn't spoil our stay, and would stay again.

Room was clean and exactly what we needed. Walking distance to the beautiful beaches , food and a mini mart. Staff helped me find a laundry service in town that was a fairly close walk that was amazing and a quick turnaround on my clothes ! Property itself was quiet and relaxing the pool was nice.

A beautiful hotel run by lovely people. Spotlessly clean. There’s no bar but the vending machine was well stocked with cold drinks. The lack of a bar means it’s very quiet in the evenings and at night so we weren’t kept awake and slept really well. I have to say, our room was lovely and had the most comfortable bed we’ve ever had in Greece! Just 2 minutes walk to the beach and lots of restaurants. Mini supermarket with cafe and bakery less than 10 minutes away. Highly recommend.
