Microtel Inn Georgetown - Lexington North

Property conditions on the outside of the building were pretty good and had many options around for food and gas. The front staff were helpful and checked us in quickly. 2nd floor hallway did have a smell to it, something similar to a damp smell. The room itself was cozy for 2 queens, a big plus was that the bed sheets were hypoallergenic. The only thing I would mention is that there is no microwave in the room (There is one on the 1st floor where breakfast is served), and the fridge is not too big with no freezer. Breakfast is basic, such as a waffle maker, cereal, fruit yogurt. (No eggs or sausage) There seemed to be no do not disturb sign for our door for housekeeping to know, and we noticed sometimes housekeeping would be outside our door, conversing. Also the only laundry is on the first floor and only has 2 machines available for washing and 2 machines for drying. Overall, the stay was fine; it was very budget-friendly.

Clean, friendly staff, great parking, great food options nearby, convenient to interstate, room seemed newly renovated, and lots of electrical outlets. Our main "negatives" were that the rooms are tiny (but efficiently laid out) and no coffee or ice (supposedly, renovations on 1st floor has their ice machine down - ok, newly painted vending areas on other floors also had no vending or ice).

This is listed as RV/trailer parking available. That’s not the case. Bathrooms are dated and breakfast room very small. Staff was friendly.

They were replacing the carpet while I was there. Which made the place more up to date. Very clean and friendly staff.

Our room was a bit small, but adequate. It was very clean and we had daily housekeeping. I wish the room had a coffeemaker (it did have a fridge). When we checked in we were not informed that the hot water heater was not working and, although it was being worked on, we still had no hot water for bedtime showers. Given that this was probably a one-off, we would stay there again.

Elevator was broken and they couldn't provide us seniors a room on the first or second floor but only on the third. No greetings coming or going and no apology for the inconvenience. Use to be much better in the past and friendly.

We stayed in the 3rd floor. No vending, no ice, no nothing. Had to go back down to first floor just so we could get a soda

Worst stay I can ever remember!! Room, which teamed of mildew smell, was right next to stairwell with paper thin wall. Elevator was broken, no information about when it would be fixed. No way to drown out heavy stair climbers all day and night! Key wouldn’t work very first time tried to use it. After checking, mechanism was broken and needed replacing (day1). Needed to have desk clerk let us in every time. Replaced mechanism 2nd day. Still didn’t work. Was weekend so out of luck! Key NEVER WORKED the entire stay!! No other room available first 2 nights. Roughed it out 3rd night and ran out of there in the morning, never to return!

The elevator was down and we had a third floor room. This was just so inconvenient and not acceptable. It's one thing if you have no luggage but it's another if you do and you're trying to deal with a healing foot. It would've been nice to know in advance so we could've changed hotels. When we finally got to our room we found that the ice machine was broken and appeared to have been for quite some time. So we had to go down to the first floor to get ice and then back up again. During our stay I became I'll with a stomach virus. I called down to inform the front desk we would be going out for the day and wanted to know if housekeeping would mind to come by at some point and change the sheets and replace the towels. Some hotels do not do a daily cleaning if you are staying multiple nights so I just wanted to be sure. I was met with the front desk staff stating, "She's working as hard as she can. You have to realize that she has 18 rooms to clean. She's probably down the hall now." I said, "Sir, I was only asking for you to pass along that we are going out and would like ONLY these two things done so as to save your staff some time. We do not need the entire room cleaned. I was not sure if anyone would be coming at all." I do not understand why everyone has to be so ugly and defensive all the time. One thing for sure is we will never stay here again. The front desk staff left a lot to be desired and the back door that we went in had been busted and did not even require key entry

Dirty sheets stains on the sheets hair in the bed a couple dirty towels and ant’s everywhere! Tons of them we have several pictures! Will never stay here again!

Shower was filthy and floors in bathroom were gross they need to clean the mildew out of the shower and replace the curtain was super gross.

The staff were super nice! The rooms were fairly clean but in need of a DEEP CLEANING! The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable! The musky smell in the hallways was horrible!!!! Overall the stay was okay.

There was mattresses all down the hallways , in front of the elevator. The tv was so very small, and they had the volume locked, so you could barely hear the tv. The refrigerator has paper cups holding it level. No microwave in room. Blood droplet on my sheet. Sheet has a tear on it. I'm so glad i took a good smelling candle, because it stunk. But i guess you get what you pay for.

Carpets in the hallway and in the room are filthy. Sour smell in the room. Stayed two nights and was planning on staying two more. Moved to another hotel.

Roaches in the bathroom. Smells like cat piss on the first floor. Ended up leaving early after I seen the roaches. You can only shine a turd up so much.

Room was small but that's expected. No problems. Breakfast options are limited.

I booked this hotel on a whim and was a little nervous because I had never been to any of their hotels. But it was a good stay overall, things were clean and service was good which is really all that matters. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the air was off when we got to our room, we did turn it on but it took half the night to get comfortable in there. However, the bed was super comfy!

Clean and relatively updated rooms. Pillows were terrible and internet service was basically nonexistent. Television system is older and channels don’t match the labels. Room walls are ineffective at blocking out noise from neighboring rooms.

The room was tiny. A/C was loud and dusty. Phone made a weird clicking noise. Breakfast contained very little hot food. I won't be returning.

This was our first stay in a Microtel. It was what I expected as far as not having the extras. The overall experience was just fine for our overnight rode trip stay. Breakfast was good, just the basics. The hotel is nicely remodeled, new carpet, new beds, which were very comfortable! We would stay there again

Everything was top drawer, tho' the room was smallish, which we knew in advance. The problem - a pitiful breakfast! Got there 30 mins before its closing and found one tiny, wrapped blueberry muffin which was like eating paste. No other sweet rolls. The Belgian waffle maker made one side crispy and the other doughy, so it was all doughy. Coffee was just so-so, yogurt tasted like sweet slime. Only the banana was okay. A for the room, D- for the food.

The room I stayed in had one very comfortable queen bed with MyPillow type pillows (fantastic), was tidy and efficient with a desk that actually had a USB charging port (the last 4 hotels I stayed in this year did not). The frig was nice and cold; there was no microwave in the room but I believe the one on the first floor was accessible. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was continental. I really liked the way the room was appointed, the AC was quiet, and the shower had mounted bodywash, shampoo, conditioner containers. Kudos.

Staff is very friendly. While the room and common areas were overall clean, the rooms are needing updates and repairs. My toilet had a piece of stacked soap carton to shim the toilet from rocking back and forth. There were 2 switches in the room that did nothing, and no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so each shower made the room very humid.

I stay here several times a year. The staff is awesome. This stay was forced by a migraine as i was traveling by and could not go any further. They were able to give me an early check-in & were so helpful. Good property.

The front staff was on a personal call and NEVER spoke a word to me the whole time I was checking in. The rooms were clean but no coffee pot. The bed was comfortable and it worked fine for 1 night.

Reserved handicapped accessible room, which was not ready when promised. Desk clerk refused to allow service dog in handicapped accessible room, so I was placed in a 3rd floor room (which I could not have escaped from if there had been a fire). Was promised a shower chair which was never provided. One grab bar by the commode, none by bathtub (no shower). Overall, room was nice and the full hot breakfast was nice. But I would never stay here again, and would strongly encourage anyone with physical or emotional disabilities to boycott this particular hotel NOT any other Sleep Inn I have ever stayed at.I will be filing a claim with the ADA.

"creepy" is the first thing my daughter said when we walked it. The outside is okay but the inside is definitely creepy and claustrophobic. I did not even attempt to try their breakfast. I'm okay with basic I'm okay with small..I'm okay with simple.. I'm not okay with the horrible check-in experience that me and my daughter had to go through. I get my room card and go to my room and when I go into the room there is no power.. I had to go out front to explain this so the lady who put the customers that were there on hold to come back with me and magically there was power. She said something about they're supposed to turn the power on before I arrive and I'd have no idea what that means. I decide to go out and drive my car closer to the side entrance to bring my items in.. but as I have all my stuff in arms and my daughter I can't open the side entrance because there's no power to the side entrance for the card to activate it.. I have to go all the way back around to the front to let them know that I cannot get in. She reactivates the card and says that phones and keys can deactivate it.. as if this was my problem..I simply had it in my pocket near nothing that could deactivate it. This was extremely inconvenient and hectic. I would consider the staff extremely unprofessional and the building outdated. When I left the guy at the counter just said put your key card in the bucket and you can go.. zero hospitality. Will never be back.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Despite pre-payment and advance notification of my service animal, I got to the property and was denied check-in. The desk clerk did not ask to see my service animal certification, just sent me out at 11:30pm after a 6 hour drive. My service animal is 15 pounds and well behaved. It felt like racial discrimination.

I had to wait almost 30 minutes in the lobby for an employee to come check me in. When I got to my room, most of the lights did not work and the one that did was so damn I could barely see in the bathroom on top of this. The room was humid, and the bed was uncomfortable.

Safe quiet area with a lot of food options.

I went in knowing this wasn't a fancy place and my expectations were exceeded. For the money, it was a good clean, comfortable, safe place to stay that is near everything. I'd stay there again.

Easy to get to from I75, with gas station and dining options very close by. Breakfast available at 6am, great choice for travellers.

We have stayed at alot of hotels and by far this one was the most comfortable. The room was a little small then what we are used to but the beds were great and the have the best pillows. My daughter loved the window nook with the cushion in it to where she could lay. Location is right in the middle of some good restaurants, walmart, and the interstate. Will stay here again.

Convenient to go see the Ark Encounter. It was clean, comfortable, breakfast was enough to get us going each morning. Would definitely stay again.

Great experience, the breakfast area was small , only cereal , bananas, toast and waffle maker. I could not get the apple juice to dispense only O.J. Check in was a breeze along with check out as well .. chatty housekeepers outside our room at 8:00 a.m. could hear them talking and laughing. The elevator worked flawlessly, and very convenient just steps from front door ..

Good stay overall. Very clean and nice place to sleep. The only complaint is the breakfast is not hot breakfast. The thing got is a waffle maker the rest is just cereal, danishes, and white bread. Not a big selection either.

The “free breakfast” was cearal, yogurt, and waffles. The apple juice was “broken”. The coffee pot was broken. They couldn’t even offer coffee.

This is our second year to stay at the Microtel in Georgetown for BreyerFest. Our room was very comfortable, with cool air conditioning, clean towels every day and super comfortable beds. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There’s a free breakfast down in the lobby each morning, simple things like cereal, oatmeal, fruit, danishes yogurt, and waffles, but plenty filling also juice, milk and coffee are available as soon as I can get logged back into my account. I’ll be making my reservations for next year. It’s close to the Kentucky horse park, and there’s tons of things to eat in a Walmart within just a mile or so of the hotel. Would definitely recommend.
