Wingate by Wyndham Kansas City

The first thing you notice is the trash, everywhere in the parking lot. Upon check in, the first thing I noticed was the paint chips on the floor. There was a sizable water stain on the ceiling that it had fallen from. The vents in the bathroom hadn’t been dusted in quite a while, just a guess. The baseboard in one corner was completely rotted. If my wife and I hadn’t been exhausted from traveling we would have checked out immediately and demanded a refund. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

The pictures shown for the hotel when booking do not reflect reality. The hotel is dated and not clean. Our room was dated, not clean and many obvious repairs to previous issues/damage. The bathroom was not clean. We booked the room with 2 adults and 2 children and the room only had three towels and two washcloth’s. Went to the front desk to ask for an additional towel and was told they couldn’t provide any additional towels. Terrible customer service. Breakfast was less than desirable and food was not replenished. Will never stay at this hotel again and will make sure family and friends stay away from this hotel.

unfortunately, the two rooms that we had one of the rooms didn’t have a shower curtain along with no TV remote, 3 inches of water in the sink, spiders in the bathroom, wallpaper peeling, a refrigerator that wouldn’t close and the previous guest’s eardrops on the floor by the window. The other room was out of soap and conditioner. The parking lot had a few parking spots full of trash. After asking for a shower curtain around 11 PM I was told it would be 10 minutes and then that turned into me asking again in the morning and getting it within a few seconds unfortunately the stay was not very good. Probably won’t be back there, it seems like there are other hotels in the area for the same price or less that may have a more attentive to detail driven staff. we are in that area every couple months for cheerleading competitions and hopefully the next trip will have lodging will be better then the last

The facility was nice and clean, and the check-in staff was friendly and helpful. My only issue with service was when I asked for extra towels before showering and was told I could come get them in the morning. I would have preferred to have them brought up or provided at that time since I didn’t want to have to come downstairs before getting in the shower. The hotel was overall very nice and quiet, except for some noise around 2am and again around 9am when people were loudly screaming either outside or in the hallway. Aside from that, it was a pleasant stay.

As soon as we walked into the hotel, we were hit with a putrid smell which lasted throughout the entire facility. The pool was closed by the health department. This was a fail on CS as we called before we came to verify the pool was open. They said yes. The pool had been closed by KCHD for several days at that point. The door knob to the first room was broken. It appeared the door had been kicked in and lightly repaired but the lock wouldn't work. The room had part of the ceiling laying on the bed. Many other spots on the ceiling were handing down, dripping as well as falling. The toilet was not attached to the wall. The wallpaper over the king bed had bubbled and was dripping a liquid down the wall. There was mold around the ceiling and vent area. The comforter had black mold stained into it. The sheets were stained. The bathtub was stained as well as the wall and floor had urine on it. We switched to a new room and it was exactly the same except the door hadn't been kicked in. We will NEVER go back to this hotel. I have emailed Wyndham and told them what how absolutely horrific this property is. Someone is going to get sick! We cancelled the second night and did get a refund after threatening to expose via social media. The 20 minutes we were in the room cost us $176 as it was not refunded.
