We stayed in the studio annex which came with a small kitchenette (stove top, sink, and fridge) and air conditioning. You can see the colosseum from the hotel and it was within 15 min walking distance of major sites and surrounded by food and shopping options.

We enjoyed our short one night stay at the Artorius hotel and really appreciated that the staff let us into our room early as we arrived very tired from our overnight flight. Our room had everything that we required and the terrace was lovely to sit on. The only downside to be aware of; the wifi was pretty much non existent. We would connect and try to use it but it kept disconnecting immediately.
We enjoyed our short one night stay at the Artorius hotel and really appreciated that the staff let us into our room early as we arrived very tired from our overnight flight. Our room had everything that we required and the terrace was lovely to sit on. The only downside to be aware of; the wifi was pretty much non existent. Our 4 night stay was very disappointing. The double room photo on both Expedia and the hotels own website is misleading. There is only one photograph of a double room and It clearly shows an outdoor seating area, one of the reasons we chose this hotel. Our room was on the front with a standard window. They told us that only 2/10 rooms actually had the outside seating. The hotel also does not post room size in sq.m. The photos posted made the room appear much more spacious than ours actually seemed. The room itself was clean, recently renovated and comfortable enough except for the ( sagging) bed and the cramped space. The bathroom was good. There really are no amenities. There was a mini bar, but it was not fully stocked or maintained. Reception availability was part-time. The hotel does not provide breakfast, there is no coffee service and although there are many restaurants in the area, it is a several blocks to find coffee or breakfast in the morning. WiFi was a total disaster. We seldom had connection in our room, and regularly has to sit in the hotel stairway to have adequate connection. Our one attempt to have the hotel book a taxi was met with both a lack of enthusiasm and lack of confidence that we would actually get one. The hotel was not able to provide information on nearby taxi stands, even though we found one a few blocks away on Nationale. Toiletries…bring your own..two small bottles for 4 nights. There are so many better choices that Artorius.

Wir hatten das "Studio, Annex". Es handelt sich um ein großes Doppelzimmer mit kleiner Pantryküche und Bad im Hinterhaus eines Gebäudes in der Parallelstraße. Das Zimmer ist etwas dunkel, aber dafür auch sehr ruhig gelegen. Die Küche ist rudimentär ausgestattet. Bis auf ein paar bröckelige Stellen hinter der Gardine ist eigentlich alles in einem gepflegten Zustand. Das Hotel haben wir nur zu Check-in und Check-out betreten, weswegen wir nicht viel dazu sagen können. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

The house is just wonderful with an old-style elevator. The rooms are large and the bed is comfortable. The staff is so helpful and really friendly.

Wonderful place to stay, convenient for everything, very clean. Disappointed no breakfast served as we were expecting and there was no bar or courtyard to sit in as described. Plenty of places in the same street for dinner but not for breakfast. Had to walk a way for that. Would stay again

Hotel is small and quaint. It boasts the city’s oldest running elevator. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The only downside is that 4 different keys are required to get to your room at night. But you feel safe!

Very friendly staff, super clean, and comfortable room. The hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood, close to the major attractions. We walked everywhere, and if tired, we took the bus. The bus stops are only a few minutes' walk away. There are very nice restaurants, cafés, minimarkets, and shops in the area. We definitely recommend it and we'll come back for our next trip to Rome!!!

I booked 2 rooms for 4 nights for my husband and I and one other couple. We couldn't have been more happy or more impressed with the quality for money, the location, and the meticulous cleanliness. The hotel staff were outstanding! They were in constant communication with me about our stay, which was very reassuring. They sent us recommendations for dining close by and helped us navigate the bus route to the Vatican City. They booked our airport transportation to and from the hotel. They made sure our every need was taken care of. I highly recommend and would return to this hotel when we visit Rome next time.

While other rooms in the hotel Artorius might be ok, we have got Studio room in Annex Building. The entrance was behind the corner on Via dei Serpenti. The door led to a long corridor with another lock door and tiny courtyard with almost no sunlight since it was more like a well inside the building. The room window opened into this patio, not outside the building. After entering the room, I immediately mentioned humidity, musty smell, and luck of ventilation. No iron, no safety box. In my opinion this part of the building has never been a living space, but rather a ground floor storage, converted to “hotel rooms” by owners to maximize the profit. They apparently have no shame in setting up such a tourist trap. Ok, here comes my one star review as a payback.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Artorius. The location is ideal for its proximity to all of the major attractions with many dining options nearby. The front desk staff were all great; so helpful and accommodating and assisting us with our transportation needs. The hotel itself is unique with it’s stained glass peacock at entry and it’s antique working elevator . The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. We will definitely be back!

Nous avions réservé une chambre-studio pour 5 nuits, nous ne sommes restés que 2 nuits. Chambre 113 sombre, humide et froide, à la propreté douteuse. Il y a des traces d'humidité (moisissures) sur les murs, les joints de la cabine de douche sont noirs de crasse et de champignons... Le frigo de la kitchenette était très sale... Le sol était froid et sale. A fuir.

Stay at property had some high and low points. Room was clean and extremely quiet. AC for room worked great. Bathroom had interesting issue with sewer odor. We realized to cover shower drain and smell disappeared. beyond that room was nice and clean. Bed and bedding however were past their prime. The location was incredible for local food and service. Grocery across the street. Colosseum , Pantheon, termini train station, metro and Trevli all about 10 minutes away. Note there is no breakfast in the hotel but many places within a block with breakfast service. Be sure you go over the mini bar if you stay there with the desk. Mine was not stocked fully and I I got charged for items that were missing. Not really worth fighting about but left me with a bit of negative on my last day.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The location was amazing! So many places to eat and shop! Anything you need is close by. We walked all around and found so many amazing places. The hotel staff was so nice and helpful. They sent so many recommendations for restaurants and places to go. The room was very clean. They cleaned every day around noon and restocked the towels and essentials. I would stay here again and I would highly recommend this wonderful place.

I was pleasantly surprised at the size and condition of the room given the fact that it was in Rome with old architecture :) The bathroom was very clean and spacious but throughout the day there was an outdoor that seem to get stronger. If was tolerable, just weird. Staff was amazing and very helpful!! Location was perfect, easy to get to nearby attractions and the subway :)

Staff are great. Great location. 700 metres to Colosseum and about the same to Trevi Fountain. Great food and breakfast options within minutes. Clean rooms. Weekends can be noisy after 12am. The property could stand upgrading the Wifi a bit. The Wifi drops at times or has low speeds at times.

Clean room, facility could use some sprucing up- looks worn. AC didn’t seem to cool much and bathroom fan ran 24/7. Room was quiet , Great location with easy dining, walking to all attractions, safe and check in / checkout was simple. Good communication thru what’s app Would stay there again if or Rome

I am 63 and walked all over Rome with my husband from this lovely hotel. We took tours of the Colosseum, Forum, and Vatican, along with Rick Steves walking audio tours on our own. Can't beat the location! The room was nice and quiet. We liked the local grocery marts, especially the one right across the street, for its prices and variety of products. The only negative was a big one for us, the mini split air conditioner was not cooling well. The front desk spoke English perfectly and advised us on the remote settings. But still, we had 4 very hot days and 3 hot nights.

Good location - 20 minutes to main places to visit. Quiet, with good restaurants close by. Very good staff - friendly, helpful. I loved that they used WhatsApp to communicate - especially when scheduling a taxi to the airport. The amenities were very good - updated bathroom, air conditioning!!, patio. The rating would be an excellent if the mattress and bedding were updated.

Hotel Artorius was lovely and very affordable. The room was clean and spacious. The bathrooms were accommodating. I definitely would recommend staying there if looking for a great location without four or five star hotel budget.

Overall our stay was wonderful! Our air conditioner didn't work the greatest in our room, but we did have a private balcony so we were able to open to door in the evenings. We were a 10 min walk from the Colosseum, 15 min walk from the Trevi Fountain and a 20 min walk from the Pantheon. There are bus stops close by or Uber does pickup right at the hotel. Highly recommend getting the Lime scooters or bikes to get around the city. There are great restaurants within the hotel and great location! We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to Rome!

The Artorius is perfectly located for the majority of sights in Rome and there were many, many, cafes and restaurants in the area. The rooms were spacious and had all amenities we required, we were able to get extra shower gel etc from reception with no fuss. The receptionists all spoke good English and were very helpful. Rooms were cleaned every day, beds made etc, shower was powerful and hot and the safe was an added bonus. The hairdryer wasn't the most powerful but I took my own in any case. The price was very reasonable and I really couldn't find anything to complain about, rather everything to recommend.

Our 4 night stay was very disappointing. The double room photo on both Expedia and the hotels own website is misleading. There is only one photograph of a double room and It clearly shows an outdoor seating area, one of the reasons we chose this hotel. Our room was on the front with a standard window. They told us that only 2/10 rooms actually had the outside seating. The hotel also does not post room size in sq.m. The photos posted made the room appear much more spacious than ours actually seemed. The room itself was clean, recently renovated and comfortable enough except for the ( sagging) bed and the cramped space. The bathroom was good. There really are no amenities. There was a mini bar, but it was not fully stocked or maintained. Reception availability was part-time. The hotel does not provide breakfast, there is no coffee service and although there are many restaurants in the area, it is a several blocks to find coffee or breakfast in the morning. WiFi was a total disaster. We seldom had connection in our room, and regularly has to sit in the hotel stairway to have adequate connection. Our one attempt to have the hotel book a taxi was met with both a lack of enthusiasm and lack of confidence that we would actually get one. The hotel was not able to provide information on nearby taxi stands, even though we found one a few blocks away on Nationale. Toiletries…bring your own..two small bottles for 4 nights. There are so many better choices that Artorius.

Overall the stay was comfortable in the hotel. What I didn’t like is; there is an additional checking fee of 30 eur if you are arriving the hotel after 20:00, even the staff is at the hotel after 20:00. So if your flight is arriving late, be aware of this.

Really nice hotel that was within walking distance to all main sites (colosseum 10 mins along one straight road, other main sites 15/20mins away). Room was a decent size for a family of 4 and the elevator was a beautiful old one (one of the 1st in Rome). Staff helpful and sent over list of nice food places etc. Only negative was that we were charged a fee to check in ‘late’. We have in the past been charged to check out late but found the fact that we arrived at 10pm (having paid to sleep that night) a little unfair. We were told the fee was €30 and this was only mentioned to us via messenger after we had booked.

Amazing experience in Rome. Perfect location in a charming neighborhood full of narrow streets and cozy restaurants. We walked everywhere — only 8 minutes to the Colosseum, 15–20 to the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain, around 40–50 to the Vatican. There’s a small market right on the street, which was super helpful for grabbing snacks and drinks. There’s also a public water fountain just around the corner where we could refill our bottles. The hotel was beautiful, super clean, and full of nice little details. Staff was friendly and helpful. We loved that they gave us a key so we could come back anytime, even after the main door closed. The closed entrance made us feel really safe.

Very nice , the room was clean and comfortable , and an easy walking distance to all the major attractions and train station . Lots of little restaurants nearby to choose from. I would absolutely stay there in the future.

Zimmer sauber; Klimaanlage ist vorhanden (haben nur die Heizfunktion benötigt, was gut funktioniert hat); Forum Romanum und Santa Maria Maggiore sind bequem zu Fuss zu erreichen; Reichlich Restaurants in der Straße und ein Supermarkt gegenüber; Metrostation ist auch recht nah.

Great location. Amenities and facility were good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good value for money. The most valuable feature was the proximity to every historical site we wanted to visit and the amazing number of restaurants just a few steps from the hotel.

Minha hospedagem foi incrível! Logo na chegada já fui muito bem recepcionada , aliás todos da recepção são muito atenciosos . O hotel fica próximo aos principais pontos turísticos e estação Termini. Em volta tem muitos restaurantes e cafés maravilhosos , inclusive super indico o La Licata, bem próximo ao hotel com café da manhã variados e deliciosos, porque não peguei o hotel com café. Super indico esse hotel, e voltando a Roma sem pensar me hospedo novamente .

Very nice staff. Good with communication. Property was very nice and clean, but a bit hard to fine. Only a small plaque outside door and google maps did not do their job. Nice large room and bathroom. Wished they had breakfast or coffee, but overall good!

Got there and the staff was super nice and accommodating. However got to the room and heater was malfunctioning and cleaning staff left the window open in December. Room was 45 degrees and took still next morning to warm up. Spotty wifi when working and they dont offer breakfast buffet any longer like they advertised. Not the worse place to stay but i wont be returning.

Wonderful place to stay, convenient for everything, very clean. Disappointed no breakfast served as we were expecting and there was no bar or courtyard to sit in as described. Plenty of places in the same street for dinner but not for breakfast. Had to walk a way for that. Would stay again

The hotel was in the perfect location to the centre and we walked to most of the sites - the Collesium, Spanish steps, Fountain, Termini etc. There were excellent restaurants around it and a cafe (bar) just down the street for morning coffee and croissants. They do not serve breakfast anymore although the site may indicate so. They were kind and provided us with a kettle for the room on request. I would have given them a better overall review but everyday when we left the staff turned off the air conditioning so when we returned there was no relief from the heat. The wall unit air conditioning did not perform well in the heat otherwise. The one day it was on we could feel the room was cooler when we returned. Everything was great and convenient the only thing I was missing was the coffee pot. If you are a coffee drinker they don’t have coffee maker or microwave either! Otherwise the place is clean and spacious.

Fantastiskt läge mitt i Rom, flera bra restauranger på gatan utanför och minilivs mittemot. 15 min promenad till järnvägsstationen 15 min till Pantheon, spanska trappan mfl och 6 minuter till Colosseum. 2 min till stor shoppinggatan. Att då hotellet var lite enklare vägdes upp till 200 % av ett fantastiskt läge och mycket bra pris. 100 m att gå till närmaste frukostöppna Trattoria 10m till närmsta Osteria (restaurang)
Fantastiskt läge mitt i Rom, flera bra restauranger på gatan utanför och minilivs mittemot. 15 min promenad till järnvägsstationen 15 min till Pantheon, spanska trappan mfl och 6 minuter till Colosseum. 2 min till stor shoppinggatan. Att då hotellet var lite enklare vägdes upp till 200 % av ett fantastiskt läge och mycket bra pris. 100 m att gå till närmaste frukostöppna Trattoria 10m till närmsta Osteria (restaurang)

We arived on the street in darkness, around 7:30pm, and struggled to find the hotel. We tried ringing, with no success and started to panic, thinking the hotel didn't actually exist. We asked some local restraunt staff and they kindly helped us find the door to the hotel, it is very poorly signposted and has a very discreet entrance. The size of the room we were given was very different from the online pictures (our room was much smaller) and we never found the bar pictured on the website and the staff confirmed that there are no official communal areas to chat with other guests. This is a 2-star, no-frills, hotel that is perfectly situated to some of the major sights. There were several restraunts within 50 metres and a well stocked shop across the road. Our room was compact but clean with outdoor balcony space, refrigerator and, most importantly, air conditioning. The wi-fi wasn't very strong. I wasn't sure of the hotel when we first arrived but would stay here again due to cleanliness of the hotel, kind staff, air conditioning and excellent location. Once we started to walk around Rome, we began to appreciate how good the location was and how having a fancy hotel room was not crucial to our enjoyment of Rome. We would advise the hotel to improve its sign-posting, ensure staff are at the other end of the telephone and to remove misleading photos of communal spaces.
