Our stay at Prescott House was a delight. The house is unique, cozy, and welcoming! The onsite manager was friendly and available, and we had everything we needed. The large bathrooms are shared, but the doors can be locked for quick showers, and there are also a few private half-baths (and one private shower) scattered throughout the building. Our room was a little bit musty and had not been updated like some of the other rooms, but it was clean and very affordable and met all our needs. We appreciated the coffee station and porches, the window a/c unit for the hot nights, the opportunity to meet other guests, and the fascinating history of the house. I would be glad to return. Thank you!

Great alternative to a hotel. Sharing a bathroom was fine-never an issue. Clean and comfortable, affordable setting with interesting history. Not posh or luxury and would strongly recommend!!

Clean room, easy check in. Basic room but access to fully equipped kitchen. More suitable for younger people doing sporting activities than a senior couple touring. Quirky. No issues at all.

Room had fridge, tv and very comfortable bed. Bathrooms were very clean.Caretaker on site if you need him.Free coffee was nice. Such a beautiful facility and qalking distance from town and major hike. Loved it, cant wait to return.

This was a clean Hotel and comfortable. check in was very easy as there was no staff to interact with. I just checked my email for instructions which told me my room number and key location. the shared bathrooms/showers was interesting but doable and there was adequate number of house slippers to get to our room.

We loved most everything about this place. From the historical building, to our room (The Baker Mountain Room), to the added touch of Starbucks & Dunkin Donuts K-cups & a Keurig in the front room 24/7. John, the caretaker, is amazing. He helped us out when our car got stuck and he is a great host. We visit a relative in Saranac twice a year and we definitely plan to stay there again.

A charming place to stay! Very clean and comfortable. A quiet neighborhood, but close to things to do in Saranac Lake. Very friendly and helpful staff. John went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again!

We spent one night in Saranac Lake, where hotels run from posh resorts, to a little scary looking. This place is fine - nice room and great rec room downstairs. Our caretaker was friendly and helpful. The only downside was we visited during a heat wave and there was no AC in our room, only a fan. I recommend this place for a short stay.

Absolutely amazing value for the price! We booked this pretty last minute for a concert in town we were going to and we loved it! Super comfortable and cozy, walking distance to down town, clean, quiet. We loved it so much we booked another stay for the end of October! This will definitely be our go to place to stay anytime we are in the Sarnac Lake area!

The manager ( John ). Was very rude when questioned about getting clean towels and overall lack of housekeeping. Furnished with Vintage furniture in poor repair, the desk litterely collapsed while sitting at it. TV didn’t work, Manager claimed that was bc our room doesn’t have cable, despite there being a cable attached . Undoubtedly one of the worst places we have ever stayed

John is very personable. It would be helpful to have internet and passwords in the rooms (added to the guests notes sheet?), and listed in the front “coffee” room. Otherwise, quiet and comfortable. It may be challenging, though, to reach someone if there is a problem.

In its previous life it was a tuberculosis sanitorium. Rooms are named for the mountains in the ADK. There is a property manager, John, on site, but check in is dependent on receiving an email with information about your room #, etc. I found the confusion of guests when they first arrive is calmed by guests who have already gone thru the process and help them understand how it works. Outdoor shoes are to be left in the main porch, and only indoor shoes are to be worn inside. Do not lose your key or lock yourself out of your room; there may be no one on site to help you. No one enters your room to empty trash or make beds or change out towels during your visit. The parking lot is rough, so it's best to unload your car at the door and then park. I opted to pay at the facility, however there isn't a way to pay there. They should remove that option on Expedia, because I am still trying to find a way to pay for my stay after I have departed. They have yard games and a pinball machine in the basement. They are located very close to the Adirondack Rail Trail, so it was a great place for us to be.

My 12 year old son and I stayed here as part of a trip to Lake Placid. So quiet and peaceful, while being so convenient to restaurants and shopping in Saranac Lake. Very clean, and the caretaker could not have been nicer. Would absolutely stay here again!

In its previous life it was a tuberculosis sanitorium. Rooms are named for the mountains in the ADK. There is a property manager, John, on site, but check in is dependent on receiving an email with information about your room #, etc. I found the confusion of guests when they first arrive is calmed by guests who have already gone thru the process and help them understand how it works. Outdoor shoes are to be left in the main porch, and only indoor shoes are to be worn inside. Do not lose your key or lock yourself out of your room; there may be no one on site to help you. No one enters your room to empty trash or make beds or change out towels during your visit. The parking lot is rough, so it's best to unload your car at the door and then park. I opted to pay at the facility, however there isn't a way to pay there. They should remove that option on Expedia, because I am still trying to find a way to pay for my stay after I have departed. They have yard games and a pinball machine in the basement. They are located very close to the Adirondack Rail Trail, so it was a great place for us to be.

A charming place to stay! Very clean and comfortable. A quiet neighborhood, but close to things to do in Saranac Lake. Very friendly and helpful staff. John went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely amazing value for the price! We booked this pretty last minute for a concert in town we were going to and we loved it! Super comfortable and cozy, walking distance to down town, clean, quiet. We loved it so much we booked another stay for the end of October! This will definitely be our go to place to stay anytime we are in the Sarnac Lake area!

Our stay at Prescott House was a delight. The house is unique, cozy, and welcoming! The onsite manager was friendly and available, and we had everything we needed. The large bathrooms are shared, but the doors can be locked for quick showers, and there are also a few private half-baths (and one private shower) scattered throughout the building. Our room was a little bit musty and had not been updated like some of the other rooms, but it was clean and very affordable and met all our needs. We appreciated the coffee station and porches, the window a/c unit for the hot nights, the opportunity to meet other guests, and the fascinating history of the house. I would be glad to return. Thank you!

Clean room, easy check in. Basic room but access to fully equipped kitchen. More suitable for younger people doing sporting activities than a senior couple touring. Quirky. No issues at all.

Room had fridge, tv and very comfortable bed. Bathrooms were very clean.Caretaker on site if you need him.Free coffee was nice. Such a beautiful facility and qalking distance from town and major hike. Loved it, cant wait to return.

We loved most everything about this place. From the historical building, to our room (The Baker Mountain Room), to the added touch of Starbucks & Dunkin Donuts K-cups & a Keurig in the front room 24/7. John, the caretaker, is amazing. He helped us out when our car got stuck and he is a great host. We visit a relative in Saranac twice a year and we definitely plan to stay there again.

Beautiful old building, nicely redone. Very basic amenities, but very clean and well-kept. Bring your own TV service (Roku, FireTV, etc.) as there are TVs in every room but no TV service. WiFi is free, though. Location is very close to downtown Saranac Lake and in a very quiet neighborhood. We loved sitting out on the 2nd floor porches.

Please be aware. This 122 year old facility has a community/shared bathroom, not a bathroom in each room as typical in today's hotels. This means you may have to wait for another guest to finish in the bathroom before you get your turn. Carpets need replacement. Some renovations are in progress. Rooms are clean, but small. Staff was accommodating. Parking was fine.

We primarily choose this hotel because of the access to the kitchen, the location and price. This property is being renovated and the building is architecturally interesting and has a storied history. This is a unique property. I had interesting conversations with the onsite manager who was very friendly. The kitchen was great as well as the game room. If you prefer a boutique experience over corporate uniformity, this place is for you!

Rustic kitchen so bring your own breakfast, fabulous fireplace in room, comfortable bed, staff minimal but very friendly and helpfull, plenty of parking, walking sticks available, comfortable heated rooms, nice decor. We definitely would go back again.

Very cool old historic building. Great atmosphere. Nothing fancy but nice. Very helpfull, for example they stored my bicycle in the garage as it was raining. I had no problem with the shared bathroom/shower as they were always empty. A short walk/bike ride from the Adirondack rail trail.
