Nice place to stay. Comfortable bed, long hot shower, nice TV, cool new mini fridge, spa and pool, laundry machines, dog friendly and very clean. Staff was also very courteous and helpful.

Construction was being done in the room next to us and on the property around the motel. The room was clean and basic, There was no coffee in the room but there was a fridge. No breakfast in the mornings, but not too far away from options. It was clean and a decent bed. I'd stay there again if I needed to.

Great stay when you're in a bind and/or on a budget. My girlfriend, dog, and I had to fumigate our house so we needed a place to crash for a couple nights without breaking the bank. Honestly, when we saw the price we were expecting the worst. However, the staff was beyond friendly, the room and linens were clean, the pool looked up-kept, and house keeping was constantly present. I wouldn't say this is a vacation getaway, but if you need a place just to lay your head for a bit, you can't go wrong! Also, they have a small dirt area you can walk your dog to relieve themselves, but if you're dog is annoyingly fussy like ours, a 5-minute walk north is an animal hospital with a huge grass area. Overall, lucky to have found this place. No complaints!

Room was very clean big nice big TV lots of room they even have a small dinning table plenty of setting every thing about this place is more then 5 star also there pool is very clean and the hot tub is very clean there is only one small problem parking it's hard to find with a little bit more parking it would even better👍😁

I’d give this motel 2 stars. Very bare bones. Top blanket almost as thin as a sheet. Room was clean but smelled like disinfectant. Would not stay here again.

Old building that needs rennovating, but i understood that with the price point. Waited 10-15 minutes after contiously ringing the bell to check in. I could hear people in the back (seemed to be a family who lives there) but another older gentlement came in through the front door. He was very friendly. Room was not good. Gnats were in the room, beds were very cheap and on cheap bed frames to where if you move it make a lot of noise. I could hear the same noise from the room above. Only a sheet and a very thin blanket on the beds. I opened the microwave to heat some food and the smell inside the microwave was so putrid i almost vomited, so i couldnt use it. I was afraid to open the mini refrigerator so i didnt even try. I will not stay here again.

We ended up leaving in the night. The room smelled way too strong of cleaning solution. We aired it out for hours when we arrived (hard to breath) and went to our concert and when we returned it still was strong. Would suggest you not use what you’re using to clean room anymore. Noticed others opening windows and doors when they checked in and it was raining.

The hotel is located in a redevelopment area under construction. The hotel is fairly old but recently remodeled and very clean. Access from the highway is convenient and located less than 30min from the beach.

Staff was great at check in and check out, along with helping get out of our room when the door wouldn’t open. Should have known there was a problem when we had a hard time entering the door. Room is upgraded. Road noise as it is just a motel. Base board piece missing in bathroom. Power went out and no phones were charged over nite. No coffee machine in the room and the coffee in the lobby was horrible. Well better we didn’t drive home from a local Christmas party but otherwise probably won’t stay here again.

I didn't like that room was not as it was online. Beds made a lot of noise. The bottom of mattress was all metal so any movement it would make noise. My 5 yr old even complained of the noise. I wouldn't go back. Not a good experience .

At check-in, the gentleman was delightful. My room was very modern & stylish, comfortable, clean, and fully equipped with microwave, fridge/freezer, iron, lots of space to put personal belongings, nice work area, nice eating table area with chairs, plenty of outlets with USB ports. They have great channels and nice big TV, great working AC. Most of all I felt safe. Great location near the freeway and main drags. Their coffee in the morning in their lobby is good & strong and tastes great. I highly recommend Escondido Lodge. I will definitely be returning.

I had a wonderful stay at Escondido Lodge. The manager was welcoming and the housekeeping staff kept the rooms clean. The rooms were comfortable, good Wi-Fi. A great choice for an affordable and pleasant stay in Escondido!

Everything was good except for the coffee you had to go to the front desk for coffee. When I got there, there was no coffee. Looks like the guy was asleep behind the desk some kid. He said oh sorry I’ll make some right now. Went back 30 minutes later. The coffee was not even lukewarm and it was awful. The hairdryer in the room did not work at all my girl needed it. Went to the front desk to see if they had another hairdryer. The same kid at the front desk said I will find out I will call you. I never got that call went back up to the front desk just to hear him telling me no they don’t have another hairdryer. Why don’t they check that stuff before they rent the room out? Why do they have the hairdryer hanging on the wall.
Everything was good except for the coffee you had to go to the front desk for coffee. When I got there, there was no coffee. Looks like the guy was asleep behind the desk some kid. He said oh sorry I’ll make some right now. Went back 30 minutes later. The coffee was not even lukewarm and it was awful. The hairdryer in the room did not work at all my girl needed it. Went to the front desk to see if they had another hairdryer. The same kid at the front desk said I will find out I will call you. I never got that call went back up to the front desk just to hear him telling me no they don’t have another hairdryer. Why don’t they check that stuff before they rent the room out? Why do they have the hairdryer hanging on the wall.

This has been by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. The smell of pine sol and bleach was terrible hurt my nose and throat. The bed uncomfortable and loud, everytime i readjusted it squeaked. Sounded like aluminum sheets. The walls thin as paper. There is nothing around there, no dining nor shopping. It seems like it's a long term hotel. Please stay away the reviews it has must be fake. This will definitely go on my never again list

Good value for the money and the staff were all very friendly. Area had lots of construction but still pretty nice surroundings and felt safe. We walked our dog up the road and went to the grass patch in front of the animal urgent care, which was good since she can be picky where she goes potty. Room was recently remodeled but the shower setup got water all over the bathroom floor by the toilet. That definitely could have been designed better. Beds were a little loud when moving around but nothing unbearable and were comfortable. Room was mostly clean but the floors left our socks black so they could have been cleaned a bit better. Overall we had a good stay and were happy with the location and proximity to good local restaurants in downtown Escondido. Would stay again next time we’re in San Diego.

The hotel is located in a redevelopment area under construction. The hotel is fairly old but recently remodeled and very clean. Access from the highway is convenient and located less than 30min from the beach.

Staff was great at check in and check out, along with helping get out of our room when the door wouldn’t open. Should have known there was a problem when we had a hard time entering the door. Room is upgraded. Road noise as it is just a motel. Base board piece missing in bathroom. Power went out and no phones were charged over nite. No coffee machine in the room and the coffee in the lobby was horrible. Well better we didn’t drive home from a local Christmas party but otherwise probably won’t stay here again.

Construction was being done in the room next to us and on the property around the motel. The room was clean and basic, There was no coffee in the room but there was a fridge. No breakfast in the mornings, but not too far away from options. It was clean and a decent bed. I'd stay there again if I needed to.

The rooms are very cheap and not at all the way they appear in the pictures plus I called and asked if there was breakfast and they said yes and then we got there and there was absolutely nothing

At check-in, the gentleman was delightful. My room was very modern & stylish, comfortable, clean, and fully equipped with microwave, fridge/freezer, iron, lots of space to put personal belongings, nice work area, nice eating table area with chairs, plenty of outlets with USB ports. They have great channels and nice big TV, great working AC. Most of all I felt safe. Great location near the freeway and main drags. Their coffee in the morning in their lobby is good & strong and tastes great. I highly recommend Escondido Lodge. I will definitely be returning.

This place is intimate! The pool and Jacuzzi area were immaculately clean and refreshing. The whole place is quiet no noise whatsoever. The rooms are very cozy, water pressure was good and hot!! The AC worked magic and we slept good on the comfortable mattress

There were ants in the bathroom. The smell of the room was super harsh. The cleaning products or air freshener they used was super strong. Our head was hurting our noise got inflamed so we couldn’t stop sneezing and our nose kept running. We opened the front door and windows and had the fan blasting to get it out but it was still so strong in there we had to leave the window open all night and the smell was still there. When we left our clothes and items we left with still had the strong smell on our clothes. It was a very toxic environment to sleep in and breathe in all night. The blanket super thin. For a king size bed they gave us 3 pillows that didn’t even look like they were standard size. Normally for a king you get 4 king pillows. at all the other places we’ve stayed it’s 2 pillow per person for a king bed. So you can use it to sit up on the headboard and lay down. I wouldn’t stay here again. When we checked out the Persian at the front desk wasn’t friendly either. He just said checking out? No good morning, no how was your stay, now have a great day ect. The night time man that checked me in was more friendly and welcoming.

The room we were given was not well maintained. Though it seemed fairly clean, the bent in the restroom was falling down, the door frame was coming apart, and the vent in the bedroom was spitting. Additionally, the floor was not very clean.
