We stayed at this house for our company Christmas party, and it was great! The communal area was clean and spacious, providing plenty of room for everyone to mingle. The cozy bedrooms offered a comfortable retreat after a fun-filled day.The location was prime. Not on the busy Main Street of Galena, but close enough for easy access with a short walk. Nice and quiet.One of the highlights was definitely the hot tub, which was a delightful treat in the middle of winter. It added a special touch to our stay and was enjoyed by all.Overall, this property exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely stay here again.

Hadn't been to Galena in years and it was certainly worth the trip. We had a great time, the house set up was great, everything we needed and it was an easy walk to downtown. We enjoyed the hot tub and the dogs loved the fenced in backyard!

Stayed here for a girls weekend. Very cute little house with fun artistic touches. Clean, nicely furnished with special extras like robes in the rooms. Hot tub worked well. Great location in a quiet neighborhood within 10-15 minute walk of the Main Street with shops and restaurants. Hosts were really responsive, easy check-in.

This home was soooooo convenient!! The house is very charming and beds were comfortable. The back yard is huge and would be so ideal for dogs. We enjoyed the hot tub as well. The house is a little small. We had 5 adults staying, but probably wouldn’t recommend for any larger group.

Clean, comfortable, and exactly as listed! Phillip was a great host who was easy to communicate with. We loved the convenience of the smart lock for check in and check out. House is in a great spot for walking over to main street for food and drinks. Backyard and hot tub were fabulous! Perfect house for a little getaway with our baby and dogs

The Nook is a super cute house in a great location in Galena. Only about a 10 min walk from Main Street. The hot tub was a great bonus and we loved using it. Loved the convenience of the smart lock for accessing the house. There is a train track that runs right by the house both during the day and the middle of the night. It didn’t bother us, but may bother some. There were a few housekeeping issues that should have been taken care of prior to our arrival which is why I gave cleanliness a 4 star rating. However, Phil was quick to respond and got everything taken care of right away. There was a big storm that moved through prior to our arrival, Phil made sure our comfort was prioritized prior to any clean up happening during our stay. Zach and the tree crew got the downed trees cleaned up and someone will luck out on some firewood if they can handle the mosquitos! Would stay here again.

We loved our stay! It was such a great location, so easy to walk to downtown Galena. We loved having the large backyard for our pup and the hot tub in the cold weather!

Cousins getting together for a weekend in Galena. We found the Nook to be a perfect base of operations for our exploration of Galena. The Nook was clean, perfectly appointed with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We didn’t even have a chance to enjoy the fire pit or the hot tub. We highly recommend the Nook!!!

We spent 5 nights at the Nook! It was perfect for our stay! The home was clean, cozy and Phil’s communication couldn’t have been better. We loved the hot tub. The kitchen was fairly large and equipped. We enjoyed the coziness of the living room too. We drove to town which took about 5 minutes. We would definitely return!

Property is located with a train track right next to it! Train was permanent going on and off thru the night. Owners wanted to charge us $20 per hour for early or late checkin. Upstairs bathroom drain not working. Cute place but not as cute as it looks!

The house was super clean, the beds are excellent, very nice linens. Some suggestions for improvement: the kitchen is lacking (no wine glasses, no rock glasses), broken pans, nothing extra (like no coffee). One of the beds didn't have a top sheet, only one towel and wash cloth per person for 3 days. Also both bathroom sinks didn't drain well and seemed to be backing up. Galena had a boil water order when we arrived and we didn't know until we got a notice delivered that the order had ended. We drank the tap water no knowing this was happening. The television was impossible to use.

I liked putting up the notes on the fridge it was nice of you to let me do that! it was small and cozy and the vinyl sounded nice for 5 seconds before my dad told me not to go on it anymore because i could break vinyl easily XD! very cool place 10/10 but the train was very loud O_O That was my daughter, we had a great time. We would stay here again. Thanks for the hospitality, Parks Family

Phil was a helpful host and the Nook was as advertized. It was clean and included the necessities, like shampoo and towels. We appreciated the living room area where we could sit and talk as a group. The kitchen is a bit small for multiple people doing multiple kitchen tasks, but we managed. I would recommend this place and host.

The Nook was perfect. The yard is perfect if you have dogs and the host catered to our four legged friends with beds, toys and treats. Although the railroad tracks are nearby it wasn’t as loud as expected. They are that frequent and fun to watch. Close proximity to town and could walk downtown if preferred.

Phil was a terrific host. He responded to all my questions quickly and followed up with us after we arrived to make sure everything was okay. It is a very cute, comfortable house.

Clean, comfortable, and exactly as listed! Phillip was a great host who was easy to communicate with. We loved the convenience of the smart lock for check in and check out. House is in a great spot for walking over to main street for food and drinks. Backyard and hot tub were fabulous! Perfect house for a little getaway with our baby and dogs

Property is located with a train track right next to it! Train was permanent going on and off thru the night. Owners wanted to charge us $20 per hour for early or late checkin. Upstairs bathroom drain not working. Cute place but not as cute as it looks!

Phil was a helpful host and the Nook was as advertized. It was clean and included the necessities, like shampoo and towels. We appreciated the living room area where we could sit and talk as a group. The kitchen is a bit small for multiple people doing multiple kitchen tasks, but we managed. I would recommend this place and host.

The Nook is a super cute house in a great location in Galena. Only about a 10 min walk from Main Street. The hot tub was a great bonus and we loved using it. Loved the convenience of the smart lock for accessing the house. There is a train track that runs right by the house both during the day and the middle of the night. It didn’t bother us, but may bother some. There were a few housekeeping issues that should have been taken care of prior to our arrival which is why I gave cleanliness a 4 star rating. However, Phil was quick to respond and got everything taken care of right away. There was a big storm that moved through prior to our arrival, Phil made sure our comfort was prioritized prior to any clean up happening during our stay. Zach and the tree crew got the downed trees cleaned up and someone will luck out on some firewood if they can handle the mosquitos! Would stay here again.

We stayed at this house for our company Christmas party, and it was great! The communal area was clean and spacious, providing plenty of room for everyone to mingle. The cozy bedrooms offered a comfortable retreat after a fun-filled day.The location was prime. Not on the busy Main Street of Galena, but close enough for easy access with a short walk. Nice and quiet.One of the highlights was definitely the hot tub, which was a delightful treat in the middle of winter. It added a special touch to our stay and was enjoyed by all.Overall, this property exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful girl’s weekend at this adorable home! Clean, cute, good gathering space, and located in an historic neighborhood. Large yard with BBQ, fire pit, and hot tub. We didn’t have a dog, but noticed that it was well outfitted for a pup. Deck gate, fenced yard, dog bowls, bed and treats. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the host’s great communication. We hope to be back!

This property was great for a weekend Galena visit with friends! Close enough to downtown to walk, but far enough away to stay quiet at night. The hosts were communicative and helpful! Would stay here again.

We spent 5 nights at the Nook! It was perfect for our stay! The home was clean, cozy and Phil’s communication couldn’t have been better. We loved the hot tub. The kitchen was fairly large and equipped. We enjoyed the coziness of the living room too. We drove to town which took about 5 minutes. We would definitely return!

The Nook was perfect. The yard is perfect if you have dogs and the host catered to our four legged friends with beds, toys and treats. Although the railroad tracks are nearby it wasn’t as loud as expected. They are that frequent and fun to watch. Close proximity to town and could walk downtown if preferred.

We loved our stay! It was such a great location, so easy to walk to downtown Galena. We loved having the large backyard for our pup and the hot tub in the cold weather!

We loved the location. It was private but still surrounded by other houses. It was a very quick trip to town. We had everything that we needed. The beds were comfortable and the house was quiet. The host was there if we needed him!

We had an amazing stay. Owner checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit. Went with to of my high school classmates. 45 years later still going strong. Close walk to town. Also went to goat yoga and had a great time. Thank you for the use of your home.

Overall we liked the Nook. Beds are comfortable, communication with host was very clear and helpful, the hot tub was great and robes in the house is a nice touch. The space is clean and decoration and layout was great. We would have appreciated more towels specifically since we used the hot tub. The only negative is the odor in the house. We walked in to an overpowering scent that I believe was a very powerful diffuser of a cedarwood oil. It filled the house and was unpleasant. It was so strong that everything I brought into the house had to be washed when I got home. When we turned down the diffuser, unfortunately a pet odor became apparent. It is a shame because this house was great in every other way. I sadly wont book this place again due to the smell.
