Our room was small butt livable. There is no elevator to get to upper floors.(It is an historical building, probably at leas 200 years old, so room size and lack of elevator is not surprising.) We enjoyed our stay and it is a great walkable location for enjoying Nantucket town and waterfront restaurants.

Perfect location,convenient and easily walkable to all downtown areas. Staff and service are excellent- helpful and kind. The attached outside restaurant/bar is a welcome addition. The room was spacious and clean. Would like to have had an outside area to lounge and read but overall enjoyed our stay.

Since this was a solo getaway...I had one of the smaller rooms with a twin bed (still had my own bathroom) and I couldn't have been happier. Great staff and amenities (beach chairs and towels at the front desk!...and continental breakfast each day! And the location can not be beat! Right in downtown and fast walking access to everything as well as all the bus routes.

Fantastic stay in the heart of Nantucket. Cozy Inn in a perfect location. Delicious continental breakfast, convenient shuttle service to local restaurants and complimentary bike rentals. We will be back as our stay was ideal. The staff was very very helpful

Excellent location. Great atmosphere and the service was fantastic. We used the bikes to ride around the neighborhoods and to Brant Point lighthouse. We also used the car service to the ferry.

The location was perfect and the staff at the hotel could not have been better. Offered free bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels. They also had driver that could take you anywhere within mile of hotel. Cookies and lemonade were served every afternoon and was always such a treat after site seeing all day. I already miss it! Would definitely stay here again!

This property is quaint and just steps from all the restaurants and shops. The bed was very comfortable. The staff is so friendly and attentive! We asked for several items that weren’t included in our room, and they had them delivered very quickly. The Tap room on site is a perfect place to sit outside and watch the world go by! Bikes on site for free. Sasha and Richard stood out as outstanding employees, but all were phenomenal!

Lovely stay. Staff was very friendly and went above and beyond. Hotel is old but well maintained. Very close to shops and restaurants in town. Continental breakfast was a nice touch! Rooms are small, and walls not sound proof - those are my only complaints. Room was still very comfortable and clean. Overall I recommend this place, maybe bring some ear plugs.

Have stayed on island many many times. First time at Jared Coffin, the staff was amazing and incredibly kind. The room itself was dirty, the shower was dingy, dust in the corners, the rug had visible first spots all over. Could definitely use a facelift. Blew the fuse with just a hair dryer. So if you’re looking for an updated place look elsewhere. Very outdated for the price. With that said- the staff was beyond kind and amazing

Staff is wonderful. The space is beautiful and classic. The rooms are clean and comfortable. This is our "go-to" on Nantucket. Stayed at other places when this property is sold out, so now we book as early as possible!

The king room was surprisingly large, with a couch, desk and large TV. Spacious bathroom, though the tub/shower combo could use a face lift. 24 hour coffee, tea, water and snacks. Not a giant selection, but nice to have the option. Location is excellent - right between ACK Bar and Brotherhood of Thieves.

This property advertised bed and breakfast; however, the breakfast consisted of stale bagels and microwave cereal. The dining area floor was dirty and full of crumbs, the common area dining table was not wiped down, the room temperature was impossibly hot (78 degrees!), the thermostat in the room was unresponsive, there was no ice in the ice machine, the hallway carpeting was dirty and stained.

Excellent customer service, cleanliness, and historical atmosphere. However, our room was quite noisy, as we could hear the person in the next room, as well as a lot of banging of doors and people talking in the hallway. The walls must be paper thin.

The Jared Coffin House is a historic property with a lot of character. We enjoyed the ambience and the service was excellent. Our room was small. It had the essentials, although it did not have an in-room coffee-maker (which is fairly standard these days). The bathroom did not have space for toiletries or a place to have a robe. They really should put a stand by the sink to place toiletries and a hook on the wall or the door to hang a robe. On the positive side - the shampoo/soap provided was of high quality. We prefer firm mattresses and found the bed a bit too soft, though the bedding was of high quality. The hotel provides a complementary continental breakfast with juice tea/coffee, yogurt, cereals, and lovely fresh baked goods. The space for sitting to eat (in the drawing room) was somewhat limited. We didn’t have any problem, but I imagine that in high season it could get tough to find a seat. The location of the hotel is fantastic- right in the middle of Nantucket town and within easy walking distance to all the in-town’ sights.

Twin bed room. Was tiny. Bathroom and toilet cramped. Window unit air conditioning made it so I had to choose between closing the blinds (and restricting airflow) or keeping blinds partly open (and letting bright light in). Great location. Friendly staff.

It's a lovely property, great location for walking, catching a free bus or riding a bike. Have stayed before, this time I had a single room that was very clean but disappointing because of a very noisy bathroom fan and the only window was blocked by an air conditioner ( that was very noisy ) so I didn't use.

It’s a beautifully maintained, historic property over 150 years old. Located within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping choices. The free continental breakfast was nice, with nice food options. My room was very small. King size body pillows on a twin bed were a bit difficult though deal with. Bathroom was very tiny as well. But for a 1 night stay it was fine.

The mattress on our bed was very saggy. Also our room was hot and there was no way to control the temperature other than to run the noisy air conditioner. The bedding was a heavy duvet. We did not sleep well.

Just left and was SO impressed! This is an older hotel so no elevator and smaller rooms BUT it’s so charming and in the perfect location to see all the sights. The best part by far is the staff! Everyone was beyond helpful and friendly! You can tell they take pride in their job. I’ve stayed in some pretty higher end hotels and this staff out did them all! Shoutout to Tevin for hauling luggage with a smile every time! And the front desk staff was incredible!
Just left and was SO impressed! This is an older hotel so no elevator and smaller rooms BUT it’s so charming and in the perfect location to see all the sights. The best part by far is the staff! Everyone was beyond helpful and friendly! You can tell they take pride in their job. I’ve stayed in some pretty higher end hotels and this staff out did them all! Absolutely wonderful here at the Jared Coffin House! Such a gracious and warm staff! So sensitive to detail and considerate, they make you feel so welcome from the onset. We love the rooms—the lobby and sitting rooms. Just perfect.

We enjoyed our stay at the Jared Coffin House. The hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful. The pre-arrival concierge arranged a ride for us from the Hy-Line ferry terminal which was much appreciated. The room was different than I expected, but it was large, comfortable and had a recently renovated bathroom. Bikes (and helmets) were available free of charge for guests, which was another nice perk. The only negative was that the outdoor courtyard area was only for the restaurant patrons and unless you wanted lunch or dinner you were out of luck. We tried to request a table to have drinks and appetizers but were turned away by a rather snooty hostess. Although the hotel was nice and the location was great, I think on our next trip I'll look for a hotel with a balcony or outdoor courtyard in which we can relax and enjoy.

The accommodations were nice, but old. It's wonderful to get that colonial experience, but we prefer the updated 2020 something version of that, which is not here. That's ok, great for others, just not us. Also, for those driving this place is great with ample parking. One thing that again- for us- missed the mark is the front desk and staff are not overly friendly or trained in high end customer service. If you asked a question or asked for something, they responded, but they didn't offer any information if not asked. From the time we checked in, where you would expect that they would tell you about the accommodations, the services like free continental breakfast, beach chairs, bicycles, etc, all they could tell us was that our room was not ready and their obligation is to have it ready by 3pm, that was it. Again, we expect more of a friendly greeting, all the amenities that are available to us, and what suggestions they may have for things to do while we waited. We have been to Nantucket before, so we were fine, but to us this we expect way more. We stayed just down the street last year at a much friendlier, much more updated boutique hotel and favored that quite a bit more. This was just 'OK'.

Lovely stay. Staff was very friendly and went above and beyond. Hotel is old but well maintained. Very close to shops and restaurants in town. Continental breakfast was a nice touch! Rooms are small, and walls not sound proof - those are my only complaints. Room was still very comfortable and clean. Overall I recommend this place, maybe bring some ear plugs.

The hotel is great, staff very friendly. Love the location and the beach chairs and umbrellas. I do not like the breakfast- the fruit is old- not many options, bad coffee. The bled good should be fresh and have mixed fruit This really needs to be improved

This was a nice, affordable spot in Nantucket. Staff was friendly and helpful. It’s a central spot for walking anywhere in town. The morning breakfast was good. Walls are thin, so just be prepared to hear people coming and going, etc. Also, our shower was super tiny. It works, but might not be the easiest for bigger people.

This property advertised bed and breakfast; however, the breakfast consisted of stale bagels and microwave cereal. The dining area floor was dirty and full of crumbs, the common area dining table was not wiped down, the room temperature was impossibly hot (78 degrees!), the thermostat in the room was unresponsive, there was no ice in the ice machine, the hallway carpeting was dirty and stained.

The continental breakfast is plenty.Their biggest issue is that the walls are paper thin so it’s difficult if you have a noisy neighbor or someone with a tv on. The price for a room in-the summer is ridiculous but that is Nantucket.

For how expensive the hotel is, it is extremely dated and needs renovation. Furniture is all old and worn, bed was unconfortable, and bathroom was dingy and very old. Other hotels in the same price range and even in the same hotel ownership group are much nicer.
