The pool was closed but you didn't know that until you got there and there was a written note on the check in door that said it was closed for maintenance. BY the looks of it, it is always closed for maintenance. Bedroom was not very clean. Bathtub was gross. Half the hotel seemed to be permanent residence. I would not stay there again especially for the full price. Staff was ok but not super friendly.

I liked the pool but it was very cold

Was given a room on second floor. However, only way to het there was in pool area with narrow steps. Not the safest.

Nice location. Two story no elevator but not a problem. Could maybe of had first floor if I asked. Good value.

Average Super 8. Small area to walk the dog and they charge $30 on top of room rate for a pet.

Pretty dirty, pool was broken , no towels in our room , one of the beds seemed broken, it was really saggy. Will not stay there again

Clean room, comfy bed & pillows. Room had fridge & microwave. Fairly quiet. A little noisy if you are looking to sleep in past 8am. Didn't have the free breakfast but coffee in lobby was good and always available. Free Shuttle available to downtown Petosky was great! Great value in staying here.

The young woman at the desk was polite and much friendlier than many I've encountered. The bed was wonderful, and I very much appreciated being able to park right outside my unit. However, the cleaning left a bit to be desired. There were hairs from previous guests in the shower and on the toilet. Coffee was still in the sink around the drain. The most frustrating situation was the noise and behavior of other guests. While everyone was friendly and polite whenever I saw them, there were loud verbal arguments, at least one barking dog, and the frequent odor of pot being smoked. No room phone to contact the office left me no options. I was not satisfied with the experience and won't stay another time.

The staff was friendly which was good. But they had way too many flies and the room was clearly not kept clean for example . The coffee maker in the room that I was staying at was dirty and the shower had hair in it.

The bathroom was not clean. The baseboards are coming off the wall. The tub floor creeks and the exhaust fan is noisy. The sink is cracked. Cars were parked outside our door so we wouldn’t open our curtains. The tv remote didn’t work. The bottom of my white socks were very dirty after walking on the carpet. The bed and pillows were comfortable and our room was straightened and replenished daily.

So sorry to say, I ignored other reviews The property / rooms were very Dirty.. Sheets were clean but Floor and counters not so much.. Did not even shower because it had hair and a bug in it Had to stay 2 nights.. I asked maid if she could clean it while I was gone,,,came back bed was made and garbage removed...she never touched the bath or toilet so very disapointed... They are building 3 new Hotels around this Super 8...I believe they are just waiting to be purchased by a Corporation and will be demolished

Do not stay here. I knew it was not a luxury hotel, but I expected cleanliness. The loŵr level linoleum floor was filthy. It didnt look to be until I took my shoescoff. Grit and sand/ dirt particles all over the fllor. I could feel it on my bare feet! My feet turned dark from the filth on the floor! The The overflow drain on the sink was also disgusting! I had to clean it. The bathroom fllor was dirty. We losr somethinh and moved the head of the beds away fro. The wall...extreme filth, hook. dust and hair. Also debris. A Bible/ church missle was lying on its side and full of dust and dirt. My sheets hot full of dirt/dust from my feet on the floor. Soon afterI kept shoes by my bed for when I had to use the bathroom in midfle of the night. etc. I told the office manaher after the first day and adked that the floor be cleaned. The manager, Lindsay would not give me hervlast name. This was after I was checking out after a 3 night stay. She was condescending and after every complaint of mine about room 121/ she repeatesly praises the heas housekeeper. Lindsay also claimed that the head housekeeper went into our room after we went out..and redid the floor. I told her that it was still full of hritty filth on the floor. She never said sorry that you had an unpleasant stay. Lindsay said pets are allowed on the lower level on that side of motel. I remarked that I can imagine the state of those other pet friendly rooms. She said." Have you been in those other rooms??!" Nasty rude classless young woman

Major work needs to be done on the tub/shower. It is disgusting and pulling away from the wall with mold around the edge.

If you plan to stay here bring cleaning supplies. You will need to clean the room, especially the bathroom, first. Bring your own towels, pillows and sleep on top of the bed. Add in price gouging to what should have been a $50 room!

The hotel needs a remodel badly. The room was dusty the heating unit has lots of dust and dirt on the edges. Bathroom floor molding was off in spots. Bathtub spicket not attached well, tub felt like it was moving. Honestly didn’t even want to shower there. Carpet needs to be replaced needs a good cleaning.

It was VERY small. They put me in the upstairs corner. No elevator that i found. To get to the lobby you have to go outside or scale the stairs by the pool. Not convenient what so ever. My comforter had white spots on it which i worked in a hotel and thaf def hadnt been washed. Sheets were clean though. It had only two towels that were well used and very small. The front desk wasn't friendly really at all when I asked where my room was she was kind of rude about helping me locate it. Am desk lafy was very kind though. Breakfast was cereal and frozen breakfast sandwiches Muffins were frozen and the only friut was apples. I went to grab stuff out of my car and there was a drunk guy that was trying to talk to me even though I was trying to ignore him. He was also with a another car that was blaring music and partying. I'm a single woman so it was a little intimidating. Sm tine the same man was up at 6 am slamming doors and yelling. Room is clean for the most part but the bathroom needs a good scrubbing. The shower curtain was tattered and somebody used the toilet and didn't flush before so that was kind of gross. Anyway it was cheap and definitely got my money's worth. Sleepless and hungry.

We liked the updated furnishings. The bed was very comfortable. The only problem we had was that the room is quite small and all the furniture just barely fit in the room.

This is an older hotel that has had some cosmetic updates. The room wa comfortable but the bathroom is tiny. It is close to plenty of shopping and dining options and farther away from the main traffic in town.

Needs some TLC. Daylight seen below door, not a tight seal. Room smelled of old cigarette smoke. Bed very comfortable and shower enclosure clean.

Room was outfitted well. No grab bars in a very slippery shower. Pricey as compared to other properties.

Staff was nice. Room was small and needed repairs in the bathroom.

The Super 8 is a good value for the money; it is reasonably clean, reasonably quiet - considering a lot of construction vehicles were coming and going. The only thing that bothered me is in the bathroom the tub is a step up to get in and a step down to get out - and there are no safety bars anywhere. I consider that a safety issue, and should be addressed. I had to grab onto the door to get out of the tub, otherwise I may have fallen. Other than that, it was good.

I didn't care for the fact that you had to go outdoors to access the pool. Wi-fi was not strong enough to reach our room.

The room was very clean and had just what we needed - nice beds, hot shower, microwave and fridge, and coffee :). I'd stay there again. Staff at the front desk were very friendly also.

Not bad over all. The front desk guy was not friendly. Acted like he hated his job and super depressed. Cleaning lady was super friendly.

Room blankets and bedding are not washed. One bed had red looking blood on the corner of the comforter. Notified the office and asked for a new blanket and an extra blanket. First night we froze because they said they “couldn't find” anymore blankets. The only bedside lamp did not work right, flickered and didn't turn on. One outlet next to the bed didn't work to maintain chargeable items like a phone. Toilet clogged during stay and staff took forever to find a plunger. Customer service was terrible. One worker on during our check-in and Saturday morning appeared annoyed, like I was a bother. Playing on her phone was more important. We requested additional towels, never received them. We have stayed in other areas hotels and this was by far the worst customer service. I understand the high turnover rate and trying to find solid candidates to work and clean a hotel. I have also worked in customer service in the cleaning industry, and many other areas and understand hearing complaints can be unsettling but to be rude, condescending, and have an unfriendly demeanor and presentation is undesirable and makes for awkward interactions without resolution for many of our concerns during our stay. Overall, I'd give 1 star. Won't be staying again and we will search elsewhere for accommodations for future trips to the area.

Staff was friendly and helpful! Our room was clean, the place was really out dated but staff was amazing and the room was clean! I would return.

Stayed for 3nights did not have maid service one time they never took out the trash or offered us any new bags never made the beds or took the used towels. Had to get towels from the pool area. the room was only stocked for one night and that is as long as I would recommend staying. Front desk was not happy not a smile at all. Maids around in the morning our room was never cleaned in 3 days. The area is very nice this hotel was very disapointing!

Restaurants and shopping centers, for the most part were across the street and down the road not more than a 1 1/2 miles away. Also it was quiet peaceful for relaxing

Room was very clean and comfortable. The property was in a very convenient location, right on 131 with Walmart and Bob Evans across the street and Meijer store and gas station nearby. Reasonably priced as well. We didn't utilize the pool or visit the breakfast room.

Pleasant experience. Hotel is near a lot of eateries and also a short 5 minute drive to their adorable downtown area with a great view of Lake Michigan.

This property needs a face lift. I think the carpet is new and the bed is fine but the toilet and shower area is a bit grubby around the edges and in the corner. And the room smells like smoke. There’s also construction next door which doesn’t help.

Nice cheaper spot in petoskey. Short drive to downtown, casino and any stores you need are right there. Boyne Mtn, Highlands and Nubs all within 30 mins. It’s pet friendly which is nice. The only bad thing were the pillows. Bed was fine, room was clean and warm even in the winter. We will book again.

It was conveniently located and the staff was nice. Although the room seemed clean it looked like there was a cheap attempt to partially update. Room was very small and too much furniture in the space. I never stayed in a hotel that had lamps and such plugged into power strips. The included breakfast was located in the office with no seating areas.It was adequate for the 1 night we stayed but would not stay again.

Room was fine, bed was comfortable. But didnt like that you had to go outside in your swimsuit to get to the pool. Or else bring your suit to the pool and change clothes there. Breakfast was better than expected.

Check-in was fine, not a lot of chitchat. The rooms were what you expect, nothing more, nothing less. I’ve stayed at worse places for more $. One thing I found interesting is they had cleaning crews come in during your stay which hasn’t happened anywhere else in this area/ at most motels I’ve ever stayed in. There is nothing wrong with the place and nothing to talk about. It is an older building that is in need of some routine maintenance. The room was clean but smelled musty. The shower dripped as did the sink. Their pet fee was one of the more expensive but the room did not justify that. Breakfast was nothing special but the coffee machine they had was new up to date model with many coffee options.

Expected a few options for breakfast no cream cheese for bagels no fruit no juice staff was not very helpful with this said they ran out
