When we booked this stay we were expecting a pool to relax and unwind. We changed and prepared to visit the pool to find it covered and not ready for the season. This was a HUGE factor for us. We have not used Expedia to book a trip, and this has given us little faith with wanting to use the service again. We are hoping for at least a partial refund as this was not what was advertised or expected and ruined a bit of our planned vacation.

Lots of amenities at the property (continental breakfast with long hours, washing, pool, multiple elevators) A bit of an older hotel but well maintained. Very secure. Hotel has everything you need and nothing you don't. Great value.

It is an older property and parking is very tight, but it is well kept and clean. Staff is very nice and check-in was easy. Breakfast is OK nothing hot but breakfast sandwiches and waffles. The problem with our room was it was facing the road and it was Fourth of July. We heard nothing but cars and noise all night long

The location of this hotel is what sells this place imo but there are hotels in better places. The pool was absolutely disgusting and unusable when we visited in late May. The elevators are definitely not serviced at all and probably are not up to code so beware.

Best price for the location. Parking is kind of tight and limited but its free. Plenty of walkable resteraunts. Has a pool. Personally, don't like that they allow pets but if rooms are separate from them then its fine. Elevator can be slow if checking in with everyone else. Not much bad to say.

Great location for walking to a show at Harrah’s and perfect spot to walk and eat. So many spots to walk for coffee, breakfast and dinner! Parking area is smallll and smallll! Get there early for a spot.

Good value, parking, room condition. Very clean. Quiet enough. Pool under repair but was told should be operational soon. Breakfast ok - Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich, cereal, waffles, yogurt, bagels and usual drinks. I’ll fine. Convenient! Walking to restaurants, venues, transvestites and other weirdos.

Very good location. Dated & needs renovation. Clean. Breakfast was adequate. Staff was friendly. Parking was tight & limited on-site but overflow was not far away. Overall, just too old & in need of updating so I would probably not stay again. But excellent location in the heart of downtown.

It’s pretty gross here. The room reeked of cigarettes. Just take a look at the streets view, it’s pretty run down. Plus the traffic noise is really loud and you can hear everything your neighbors are doing

When I stay at a hotel, I just don't want to see bugs or past guest pubic hairs and...yeah. unfortunately, pubes on one of the towels and a small roach or roach like creature was crawling on a pillow of the bed I was about to get in. I couldn't stay there again or recommend it for those two issues alone.

The room was clean! The staff was very friendly and informative. The whole hotel was very clean. The amenities are very basic, but they’re what you need to get through the night and get your day started in the morning.

The hotel is downtown, but the area is sketchy, lots of homeless people. The hotel is very run down, needs repairs and the pictures are deceiving. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast minimal and they do not do housekeeping on a daily basis.

Good spot for the price. Common areas were clean. Staff was nice. Great location. Looks a bit rundown from the outside but not as bad when on the property. Room smelled like perfume whe we checked in, like someone tried to mask an odor. My wife is a breakfast eater but she did not like the options. Said it was basically the waffles and not much else. She didn't partake. There is a Wifi password provided, but when asked about which wifi name to connect to we were told the name and that it did not require a password. I ended up not using the wifi because i didnt trust it. Other similar wifi names showed up when scanning to connect and that leaves users exposed to security issues. I recommend not using wifi until this place provides a specific wifi name to connect to with a password that changes.

I booked this hotel because of its proximity to downtown & the low price. I was disappointed when I got to the hotel & was told there was not daily housekeeping. They were very accommodating when I had to check out a day early due to an ac problem at home.

This is a motel with doors opening to the outside. As a result (and because the door wasn’t airtight) it was quite loud. The place is dated and basic but did have a fridge and microwave. The room was clean and we appreciated that it was downtown and had parking. Breakfast was fine.

Parking very limited when motel was more than half occupied. Arrangement available for overflow lot nearby. Lobby/stairwells need aesthetic upgrades (chipped floor tiles add charm). Traffic & mufflers in adjacent 4-lane street (on north side) are noisy at night—in 5th floor room on north side, noise was no problem.

I loved that the price was affordable for being in downtown Asheville. Easy to walk around and explore. The woman working at night was very sweet and helpful. I don't remember her name but she was on the young side. The downside? The carpet floor was stained and the blanket was more a sheet. I barely slept the first night and none at all the second night. I would get in the room and my nose got stuffy making it hard to breath. Second night was worse. I had to breathe thru my mouth. Had no issues outside of room. The toilet made noise all thru the night. Loudly. At intervals. Sounded like someone turned on a faucet at full blast. You could hear thru the walls. The microwave is old and heated unevenly. Cold and burnt. Yum. View was great outside our room. Mountains to the left and the right and downtown right in the center. Front row seating for the homeless people shouting and arguing from 4am to 5am. They were still quieter than the toilet

The room was small but clean and comfortable. It’s an older hotel and opens to the outside. The parking lot it really tight so don’t park in the back area! Very close to downtown and makes it very walkable. The breakfast is pretty lame though. It’s a good choice.

Really affordable, right in the middle of downtown so we got to walk around everywhere without worrying we’re too far from the hotel. Only complaint is noise. You are right off a somewhat busy downtown road, which is fine but some cars are particularly very loud. Random noises throughout the night in 2 out of 3 days of staying. Could be situational, since we went during the No Kings/Fathers day weekend. For the price and convenience of location, definitely worth it, even with the noises.

Pros: - Right on the edge of the downtown area so you can walk to tons of bars/restaurants/shops - Cheaper than other downtown hotels - Room was cleaner than I expected based on the overall vibe, although it was still the kind of place you would feel gross walking around with bare feet. Cons: - The parking lot was very difficult to maneuver in, with small spaces and a very narrow aisle. It also seemed to fill up quick, I got the last spot a couple if times. - Pets are allowed, which is good I suppose if you are travelling with a pet, but I was stuck listening to someone's poor dog howling it's head off all weekend. - On one side of the hotel you have to listen to the obnoxiously loud pool fountain, on the other side that I was on you get traffic noise and nightlife (I was awoken before dawn one morning to a man screaming repeatedly "WHO STOLE MY S***? SOMEONE TOOK ALL MY S***!"). Overall: Might be worth staying here if you want to explore the downtown area (especially if you're bringing a pet) and don't want to spend a bit extra for one of the much nicer hotels, and plan on only coming back to crash at night (and are a heavy sleeper).

Property was ok, check in was not good. We arrived at 4:30 (check in was 4:00) and were told that our room was not ready because we "were staying 3 nights and things need switched around". Said she would call us when our room was ready. After waiting close to a half hour, I asked again when our room would be ready and why many people checked in during our wait and the desk clerk angrily said "you\'re staying 3 nights, I\'m doing the best I can!" Didn\'t make a very good first impression......maybe she was having a bad day? Otherwise, it was a good location, very walkable, which was good. It is definitely an older property but it was clean. Asheville was awesome!

Didn\'t make a very good first impression......maybe she was having a bad day? Otherwise, it was a good location, very walkable, which was good. It is definitely an older property but it was clean. Asheville was awesome!

Convenient location, reasonably priced. Building is a little worn out but rooms are clean and ours had been updated. Only negative was surly, resentful desk clerk who acted like she’d rather be anywhere else. To make it worse, she had a screaming baby with her at the desk.

I appreciate the kindness at the front reception desk. I did not have a car and they allowed me to stay… I didn’t know you couldn’t stay without a vehicle. I used to live here, it’s been very upgraded, this hotel. I enjoyed my stay and will return.

I hit a deer on my way to the motel. So I couldn’t make it there. Expedia was awful!!!! Said I could not get a refund because I didn’t pay extra! I was 2 hours away I didn’t think I would hit a deer and not make it. Expedia no remorse. No care at all. I emailed downtown inn and within 10 mins they gave me a full refund!!!! I will be staying here every time I’m in Asheville from now on! Expedia….. I will not be using them unless it’s a last resort.

We enjoyed our stay! Location is perfect, no need to drive anywhere, many restaurants, pubs etc in walking distance. We had no prob with parking even with the hotel fully booked. It was everything we needed, no the breakfast was elaborate, there were waffles, fruit, yogurt cereal and more, however for the price it was great! Heather at the front desk was friendly and helpful, something we really appreciate!

The building is fine, it is dated but not a big issue. The check-in was a disaster, we arrived at 4:30, room was not ready. I asked how long it might be and was told “I don’t know, I just got here”, I was told I could wait in the lobby. Then I asked, after about 20 minutes, if I could go up and see if things were ready and was told no. We finally returned our bags back to our car and went to dinner, after being told they would text us when the room was ready. No text ever came. No apology was ever given.

The hotel is downtown, but the area is sketchy, lots of homeless people. The hotel is very run down, needs repairs and the pictures are deceiving. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast minimal and they do not do housekeeping on a daily basis.

Great location, easily walkable to most of downtown. Free parking. Quick check in. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The building is an older hotel and shows its age, but was in good condition. My only complaint would that lots of street noise can be heard, my room faced the road. Next I would request a room on the rear of the building.

Great hotel for the price. It’s older but the rooms are very clean. Super convenient to everything downtown. Parking was easy. Breakfast setup was very good. Several waffle makers. We stayed on a Friday night so it was a little noisy, not the hotel but the bars and road next to it, which is what expected being so close to the city. The convenience and cleanliness of rooms makes up for that.

Good spot for the price. Common areas were clean. Staff was nice. Great location. Looks a bit rundown from the outside but not as bad when on the property. Room smelled like perfume whe we checked in, like someone tried to mask an odor. My wife is a breakfast eater but she did not like the options. Said it was basically the waffles and not much else. She didn't partake. There is a Wifi password provided, but when asked about which wifi name to connect to we were told the name and that it did not require a password. I ended up not using the wifi because i didnt trust it. Other similar wifi names showed up when scanning to connect and that leaves users exposed to security issues. I recommend not using wifi until this place provides a specific wifi name to connect to with a password that changes.

Love the location. a little older but clean. Breakfast isn't great but not a big deal. one big problem that's easy to correct. THE COFFEE WAS TERRIBLE! It's not that hard to have decent coffee. fix this and it would improve the rating considerably.

The hotel is on the older side, but very good for the price. The parking is limited, but they have overflow parking available that is close. Breakfast was simple, but good. The location is right downtown and super convenient to walk to everything.

The room was very outdated like 1980. Our refrigerator was leaking in the floor. The power outlets which some were connected to surge protectors and some were fire hazards. The curtains were 1ft on the floor and laying on a receptacle that had a lamp plugged in. There were a half inch of dust when they pulled the fridge out to check it. There were no toiletries in the room you had to go and ask for them. This hotel's fire alarm went off 3 separate times in which we scurried to grab our pet and most important documents 2 times about an hour apart at 3 am. Then the clerk eventually cut off the alarms citing faulty sensors. Both times the fire department came and we waited in our pajamas until they cleared it for us to return. I got sick while there. Our Anniversary was ruined and had to stay an extra night because I got a food or water born illness. Urgent Care visit and 2 visits after returning home. There were ants in the sugar at the continental breakfast. The staff were nice. I highly recommend NOT staying at this run down hotel unless you just absolutely want to go party and crash. It was so loud from racing bikes to cars we got little rest. We thought we had a mountain view room. I wish I could post pictures that i took pf the room and the view. The only solace we had was a very attentive Heather and Cherish who worked there. The fountain shown on their . advertisement were only 1.5 ft tall. Did I mention ants in the food and how poorly kept the rooms were nourerated.s

I would not recommend staying here. Its only value is proximity to Asheville downtown. The room is comfortable but well worn. Our noise level, being in the front off the main drag, was awful. Going to get breakfast, the lobby had several buckets catching water from some unknown leaks. The also had several loud dehumidifiers in the lobby to control the excessive moisture. Breakfast was non-existent. There were cereal flakes, pancake batter waffles, and prepackaged Jimmy Dean sausage sandwiches that had microwave instructions. We were there 3 nights, and ate there zero times. Skip this place unless you have no other viable options.

The facility is definetly dated and I can't say it offered the most positive first impression. However, our room was clean and comfortable, and surprisingly quiet (we were on the side away from the street). Very affordable, especially considering the prices of competitors for the weekend we were there. There was a PGA tournament in town the weekend we stayed. Location is also convenient to shops and restaurants in downtown Asheville. Will consider staying here again on our next trip to Asheville.
