Travelodge by Wyndham Shamokin Dam/Selinsgrove

We absolutely love this place. The swimming was amazing.

The room is your standard room. You can tell it’s been refurbished. Surprisingly, the bed was comfortable. The toilet wobbled and the bathroom door showed where a kid did their doodling. For an older motel, it was relatively quiet. There was a pool, but was closed for the season. To get ice, we had to go across the courtyard as the closest machine wasn’t working. Overall, it was ok. As for the check-in, it was awful. I prepaid in full and I was informed that a surcharge for prepaying. What?? I never heard of such a thing. Absured!

The room was okay. There was a stained chair. There was a fly in the room which I killed, then hours later another fly showed up. The next day another fly showed up. They were getting in somewhere, and not the front door. The bed was soft, and it turned out to be comfortable. The pillows were horrible, just bring your own if you want pillow support. The water pressure in the shower was ok, the shower / toilet area was pretty small but for the price it was ok. The fake wood floor they use gets ice cold when you run the air conditioning which we did because it was 90 degrees outside. Ended up putting on socks to help with a very cold floor. The AC worked great, no issues. The room was also quiet, didn't hear anybody else, and the rooms were occupied next to us. The swimming pool was great, big for a cheaper hotel, and the water was pretty clean. The guy cutting the grass wasn't the greatest, he ended up using a weed wacker, and a lot of grass ended up getting in the pool floating around which nobody would clean until the next day, and this was around 3pm.

loved the pool in the middle of the property, didn't love the fact that we had to call the local police at 3am to complain about a party at the pool when the pool was supposed to be closed at 9, they had alcohol and food and loud music. Beds were hard, we were only offered a 23 dollar refund when we didnt even sleep that night and weren't even there half the day that day

It was very easy to access. Parking is great and right in front of our room.

Check in was easy. Lots of weeds on grounds. The sidewalks were not flat but cracked and raised. Parking lot spots need to be repainted.

The place is clean and friendly staff. Just note there is a $2.00 fee to park.

Housekeeping was always available for towels, toiletries, etc. Pool and grounds were well maintained. Many restaurants in area at various price levels. Near shopping malls.

The room was clean and the price was good. Two floors with no elevator with outside entrance.

2nd time staying here..2023& now 2024. Much 💗 improved property and room upkeep. longtime front desk employee from last year still thete an d very helpful...clean well maintained pool., and area.

The pictures on the website are not what you are getting when you arrive. The furniture is old and stained. The floors and walls are gross. We got into our room and I requested a new one because there were dry urine stains on the toilet and crumbs on the floor. I didn’t even want to sit in the bed. There were several mattresses out by the dumpster, I am not sure why that was. I felt very dirty staying there.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was filthy inside and outside. My husband and I were in town to visit our son at Bucknell and the location of this hotel was satisfactory for that. I knew once I pulled up to the hotel that I had made a huge mistake. The property is not well-maintained. The hallways were very dirty - q-tips on the ground as well as other debris. There were abandoned cars in the parking lot. The room had new flooring, new looking bedding, new looking wood furniture, and the mattresses were comfortable. However, the pillows were simply throw size pillows wrapped in pillow cases. The walls had not been wiped down so there was schmutz and dirty marks all over them everywhere. The surfaces hadn't been wiped down well so we could see finger prints all over everything. Both bathrooms had hair - both head and pubic hair - on the toilets, in the showers, and in the sinks. The furniture in the "suite" was filthy - we wouldn't sit on it. The couch was tiny with stains all over it. Then there were 2 stained wood chairs. There was one sad floor lamp that didn't come close to lighting up the room. The air conditioning did work well which was the highlight. The trim and corners of the room were dirty. We slept, touched as little as possible, and got the heck out of there. There were some fellow Bucknell parents but mostly guests that appeared to be living there. I will never stay there again.

The exterior has not been painted or washed for, maybe, years. The bed was great, but the bathroom and floors haven’t been mopped in some time. I will never return.

Friendly front counter attendant. Most rooms ive stayed in over the past few months at this place seem semi-clean at first, thats until you find your first roach. Most rooms have an odor, i do understand you get what you pay for so that is why i have written this fair review.

Bedbugs!

I called before making reservations to make sure we could have connecting rooms and that thebpool was open. Was told yes to both. We get there and no the pool isnt open and no to connecting rooms. Get what rooms they give us and it had bed bugs.. told them. They said a mangaer would call us. Nothing. Went down again with a cupfull of bugs and still nothing. Offerd us new blankets was all. Checked out and still asked for manager and still nothing. Bed bugs everywhere!! The one room was so dirty. They didnt wipe down anything. We had 2 rooms for 7 people. We had to stay in one of the rooms that didnt have bugs.. that we saw. Had to come home and detail car and throw away all our clothes because i dont want them. We still havent heard from anyone.

I requested king bed, room had a full bed. Was not very clean at all. Missing cabinet doors. I requested extra towels and sheets that were never brought. Not worth the money we paid at all. Room was supposed to have crib also and did not.

I stayed alone without my family so I could handle the poor overall quality of the hotel and room. Everything worked fine in the room, however I did experience water seeping up through the seams of the artificial wood floor boards. Definitely strange, but I was settled and it was not flooding. The entire hotel had a dingy appearance. However the price allowed me stay a couple of extra days and for my purposes, the location was quite convenient. I indicated that it was noisy but many similar locations would almost certainly be just as noisy with all of the traffic from the nearby highway and streets. The staff were friendly and helpful, no issues there. The restaurant that shares the location was quite good and not terribly expensive. Plus Bob Evans was just next door an easy walk from my room.

USB ports and outlets only work if the light switches are on. Not a good thing. Should be independent from lights and switches.

Power outlets by the beds did not work, key card stopped working the next day, all would’ve been fine if the price wasn’t that high for the value

I loved being able to have a drink at the attached Mexican restaurant and watch our teens hang out by the pool at the same time. Having a deck in front of every room was perfect for those needing to step out for a smoke or a vape. Love that the place was pet friendly. As a big family, the connecting rooms were perfect! Housekeeping left a little to be desired - in one room there were 2 used bandaids in the ice bucket so we just used the one from the other room. My daughter had wrapped up her watch in a rag and put it on the nightstand and forgot about it. When we went back to get it, the room had already been cleaned, but the rag had fallen between the bed and the nightstand and was still there. Also, don't bring an Xbox or streaming box or anything with you - the TV's do not allow you to change the input, so sadly you're stuck watching whatever is on the TV. But that's a minor annoyance.

No hair dryer in room, shower sprayed water out to the sides onto the wall and the curtain hardly any to the front making hair washing and rinsing soap off annoying. Door was warped and hard to open and close.

Looks bad from outside but the room was very clean and spacious for the price. Nearby restaurants are convenient (Texas Roadhouse, Mall, Chipotle). Internet was slow as usual at any hotel but good for the budget

Waited a LONG time to check in, approx. 20 minutes standing at the counter along with 3 other people waiting to check in. Room was pretty good, older but in ok condition. A/C worked good. Little loud in the room from other people coming in late, guy above me dropped his cell phone in the middle of the night and woke me up. Did not have any breakfast, only coffee, was a Mexican restaurant inside. Price was high compared to other similar hotels I have stayed in.

Extremely basic & worn - not worth $139 /nite! TV didn't work even after notified front desk (stay was 2 nites). No daily maid service or fresh towels - learned at checkout had to request. 1 small bottle of shampoo & 2 small soaps, had to request hairdryer. Parking near units limited which was unconfortable for single woman at night. Despite booking thru Expedia for pay at checkin which did not afford lower prepaid rate, desk called a week before checkin & informed me via vmail that they would charge card 2 days b4 checkin & if didn't have credit card on file for same, reservation would be cancelled & no discount for the prepay. Due to multiple local events there were no other rooms available at other hotels.

Rate quoted was not what I was charged. Only $2 more, but issue dismissed by the front desk. Also, left key in room at checkout since front office locked. Room had smoke smell and dead roach. Will not come back.

Staying here again and everything is fine. It's a nice place to stay and close to a lot of stores and businesses. It's the cheapest hotel overall and meets all your needs.

It was very easy to access. Parking is great and right in front of our room.

Location is good though at times exiting the parking area, you had to be very careful of vehicles coming from your right. The hill on this side is like a blind spot.

We stay here a couple times a year when visiting family. It’s nothing too fancy, but the staff is always kind, the rooms are clean, and the location is really convenient with grocery stores/restaurants nearby

I chose this hotel for the fair price and a pool for the kids which was all good. Their ad and even at front desk claimed to have breakfast, well they had granola bars and some other nasty thing on a tray and called it breakfast. Very disappointed.

The rooms were nice, the property was nice. The owner needs to pay to have the parking area cleaned up and the bushes/shrubs trimmed. Then it would look good. The staff were outstanding! Very friendly, helpful. Good answers to questions. Wonderful recommendations for food. Attached Mexican Restaurant is good/fun. Coffee/doughnut shop right across the street is outstanding!!

We were on vacation heading home when the engine in our vehicle decided to go heels up in the middle of PA. Staff very helpful, quiet here, and restaurants within walking distance. Recommend the Mexican Restaurant attached to the hotel.

Excellent service and a great on site Mexican restaurant. Halls need cleaning and rooms are basic. Clean rooms and towels. It’s was a good nights sleep nonetheless

Clean room, easy access, lower priced hotel for the area. Room was clean and comfortable, quiet, got a good night's sleep. No breakfast anymore, had to eat at Bob Evans next door. This is my third stay at this hotel, was a good experience.

It was a good stay. We had a truck with a trailer with UTV so they upgraded us so we could keep an eye on our equipment. Very nice service. Ice machine didn’t work. They had a small grab an go breakfast which was welcomed. Clean and affordable
