Sonesta Simply Suites Columbus Airport Gahanna

Went for 4 days, 3 nights. Staff was nice and attentive. They took care of every question I had. I enjoyed Palmer Fitness & Kroger being about 4 minutes away. Truly convenient! Room was clean & stocked appropriately, ( although I travel wl cavi wipes to wipe down countertops, leather couch and toilet for more comfort), gym was small but I was able to get my daily 2 - 3 miles in as needed. I was able to meal prep; as all cooking ware needed was available for me. The shower pressure was amazing. I would definitely stay here again when I’m in town

Free guest laundry, clean rooms, enjoyed my stay. Every time i come to Columbus ill stay here. Love it. Staff is awesome..

Really nice and helpful employees there is no pool as advertised on Expedia and just wish things were a little more updated as they were shown to be on the site but overall great time

The staff that assisted when arriving were friendly and kind, very informative and helpful. My wife & I found the accomdations to be comfortable and we could easily stay here again. One displeasure was the hotel charged $10 to park, unless one joins their Sonesta Travel program. The location didn't appear to warrant such a fee (it wasn't, for example, located (downtown), and the parking lot could withstand some slight improvements.

Just northeast of Colombus, this property is located in a residential suburban neighborhood. Yet it's just two blocks from I-270 and within a short drive to the airport, shopping, and all of Colombus. The place was packed (OSU gameday), but quiet ruled. I was a late check-in, just passing through town. The front desk staff was wide awake, very friendly, and very heloful when I drove up at 1:00am. Most rooms are extended stay suites with a long built-in desk/work spaces and come with kitchens containing full refrigerators and stoves, prep areas, and all the required appliances and dishes, etc. And the hotel kept a library of appliances for free use if you needed something: crockpots, toasters, waffle gizmos. Towels and linens were clean and soft. Very decent fitness center, mini-market, and laundry facilities. The entire property was spotless, odor-free, and well-maintained. I was very surprised to pay $85, tax included.

There were pros and cons to the location. It was nice and quiet, but options were limited if you wanted to walk to stores or restaurants.

First thing at check in you are told parking is $10 unless you join their rewards club. Then, internet didn’t work as described. Broken tiles with sharp jagged pieces sticking out in the bathroom. Uncleaned areas in the room. Broken parts of the air conditioner.

It was good however I’m disappointed with a few things. I wish they had a breakfast in the morning. It would be nice if they had a pool, too. Their dryers were all out of order. The biggest reason that upset me is that they were not very family friendly. We requested a bottom floor but they couldn’t accommodate I guess so we were on second floor. The people below complained during the day and night about my kids footsteps. They weren’t being too excessive like jumping, just running around playing hide n seek. I have a 6 and 2 year old. My 2 year old RUNS everywhere. He’s wild. It’s hard to keep them calm. So to constantly have the phone ring for us to keep it down for the people downstairs was very uncomfortable for me with my family. So I’d choose elsewhere if you have kids!!! We just needed a kitchen so we chose this place over others in the area. Very kind staff though

They didnt have a good selection of snacks and drinks. And they didnt offer a shuttle service being that close to the airport. I had to pay 44.00 for a 1.5 mile ride. Kinda ridiculous

Service was fine. Condition of the property not good. Stains on the carpet everywhere. Room smelled like a smoking room that they tried to cover up with some type of room freshener. Everything very worn. Would not stay here again. Very overpriced for the condition of the hotel.

Business trip with my wife. We did 18 hotel stays this year, this was the best experience we had all year. Clean, smelled good and clean, staff was very friendly, always smiling, and talkative. We will stay at this location again. I will recommend to fellow business travelers.

Pictures do NOT match what was shown on the Expedia website. Older property with stains on the carpeting in the hallways, multiple areas. Bathroom door was broken as if it had been kicked in at some previous point and poorly repaired. Strong smell of chemicals upon arrival as if trying to cover up some hideous stank. Overall, just overhyped on the Expedia website, had the website truly been accurate, I would not have stayed here.

Let me start by saying the front desk staff here is always 100%. They are very kind and open to helping when they can. My partner and myself have stayed at this location a few times on the last 6 years (under his name and under mine ) and I'm sad to say it seems to have gone downhill in the last few years. We tried another hotel across the street last year and opted to give this one another shot this year due to the full kitchen. (We come into town for Lost Lands and prefer to have the option to cook for ourselves) This most recent stay was not great. Unfortunately the room was very very damp and had a strong musty odor coming from the carpet, very similar to an old sock, which we assumed was due to the air conditioner and general lack of ventilation for the room. We did ask the front desk if they happen to have any of those odor absorbing gel buckets or moisture removers and they did happily provide a dehumidifier to help us. We did have to pick up a room spray while we were grabbing groceries. Which helped make the room tolerable while we were there. The overall cleanliness of this location has gotten worse. This stay for us did have is cleaning kitchen surfaces and dishes before use. This hotel just needs a deep thorough cleaning and it would be 10x better, to be honest. The walls are very dirty, there is just dirt/grime build up in cracks and crevices. Almost every surface seems to have a film on it. Anything that circulates air has significant dust buildup.

Room was dirty when we arrived, huge bite out of couch made by a dog or something, just a worn out facility with several washing machines out of order and had to beg for TP and clean towels. Place smells bad too. Some workers were ok, others were bothered by requests. Will never consider one of these dumps again. Very disappointing. 6 nights of hell.

This hotel stay was great from the start. As soon as you walk in the lobby at the front desk we’re the most polite people Ive run into in quite some time. The hotel was very clean, rooms were clean bathrooms clean and overall good stay! Well done!

Guy checked me in was great. . Service was great . Was there a breakfast ? I never heard of one. The shower didn’t get hot , barely warm and the soaps were the worst I’ve seen yet

The staff were very friendly. The hotel was dated but relatively clean and nicely well kept. The room was large and had everything I needed. Great price!

What we liked best was the comfortable beds we really slept well during our stay. What i didn't like was the elevator it was a little shaky when we rode it. I recommend someone check it out because it did get stuck once.

Don't waste your time and money on this property. Its beat up and run down. Not sure why Sonesta would think it meets their standards. Needs a complete redo - sink coming off the wall in bathroom, chair not working, 1980s decor at best. I stay 100 nights a year in hotels - this is on my dont stay again list for sure.

Check-in was easy and friendly. Staff was great. Was told there was a daily rate to park (the site is very suburban, so was take aback). Upon review of my bill at checkout, there was no charge. Did have a small issue with the handicapped parking. A non-permitted car was in a marked space when we returned to the hotel late at night. The employee who was notified did nothing as the same car was in the same space the next morning (after 10am). Also, no housekeeping if you stay longer than 1 night. No straightening of the bed or refreshing of towels, checking of necessities such as tissues or toilet paper. No option for 2 separate beds. Can do a bed and pullout. If you stay with someone who isn’t comfortable sharing, this won’t be the place for you. Terrible Wi-Fi. Limited cell reception with Verizon both 4G and 5G.

Staff was friendly. Sonesta seems to think they should charge $10 for parking unless you agree to sign up for spam e-mails from them. Bigger issue was AC unit in room would not cool room adequately (in November). It was late when I arrived, and I was leaving early the next morning, so I didn’t have time to realize it wasn’t functioning properly, and get a different room. Didn’t sleep well as a result.

Hotel JUST CHANGED owners and cleaned out the GREAT management team there and it is VERY APPARENT that they do not have a clue. We have used this hotel for 5 years only for this terrible experience. I PERSONNALY requested a room near elevator because of my back and Patrick, the manager guaranteed that. When we arrived, the untrained employee put me in a room THAT WAS OCCUPIED ALREADY!!!! Then he put me almost at the end of the longest hallway in the hotel. TERRIBLE service. When we checked out on Saturday, the clerk tried TO CHARGE US again and said our rooms were not paid for through hotels.com

I came to attend the wedding of my cousin. I was booked at a hotel across the street but when I arrived after driving 8 hours in the rain I was told that they couldn’t find my confirmation and had no room for me. I went online and booked at Sonesta and went across the street. The front desk was surprised I was there so quick so I explained what happened. They all were so nice and telling me how sorry they were that I was treated this way. This was not their fault yet they were apologizing for another hotel’s mistake. I checked into my room and quickly changed and joined my family for a rehearsal dinner. When I came back I again was warmly greeted and asked if everything was OK with my room. It was. The next afternoon I was dressed and on my way to the wedding and was told by the front desk ladies that I looked beautiful and to have a great time at the wedding. Warm greeting when I returned for the night and asked if I enjoyed the wedding. When check out time came I was asked if everything was good and told to drive carefully and to come back again. After the wonderful care I received I definitely will come back to Sonesta in the future.

Everything was perfect. The staff were professional and super friendly. A great room and smiling staff who want you to feel welcome.

Poor Customer Service at Check in

The room was decent, but service was trash. I reserved 1 room for a family of 4. We got there, and they only gave us enough towels and washcloths for 3. When we asked for another towel and washcloth, the front desk clerk refused and said we had to bring one back first before he'd give us another set. When it was time for bed, we realized there were no blankets for the sofa bed. We asked the clerk for a blanket and was denied. He told my husband, "I don't know what to tell you. There are no extra blankets." I ended up having to buy one from the store. The stove in the kitchen cooks at one speed: SLOW! The lady at the front desk when we checked out was really nice. However, I would never recommend that place to anyone!

The hotel was very clean and a great no-frills option for a clean place to rest. Conveniently located near grocery and food options, as well as highways.

We liked the location of hotel for what we were doing. The hotel staff was friendly and the room was very well maintained. It was a bit older, but looked to have been recently renovated. It had several food options within 1/4 - 1 mile away and a Kroger right down street for snack/drink option after hours. The parking lot was well lit at night. Itseemed to be in a quieter area, but was easy access to main highway. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Suited our needs for a three day graduation event. Good location, adequate in most ways. Solid B or B+.

Staff is amazing! However there were a few unsavory individuals hanging out in the parking lot meeting with others. A little unsettling and didn’t feel safe. I think the hotel is ok, but the management should consider adding security officers on the grounds.

Price and proximity from the Airport was favorably good

Rooms were nice and large. Several places to eat close by and close to the airport. Front desk very friendly and helpful. Room had frig, stove top and microwave but was just a little shabby.

Overall, a great location but as close as it is to the airport, they do not offer shuttle service.

This place was exactly what I needed! The small kitchenette and available appliances was very handy! Will totally stay again if im in the area!

The location was great, close to different eateries and a grocery store was a plus because the hotel store was very lacking. The hotel itself could use some renovations. The cleaning staff I encountered was rather rude. I was grateful that was able to extend unexpectedly, but it was at a ridiculous higher rate. I felt like the person in room above me was going to come thru the ceiling, stomping slamming cabinet doors. I probably wouldn’t suggest this property.

Location is generally good. Rooms and decor are very dated. Disappointed with lack of complimentary continental breakfast. Coffee only.

This was an easy stay after a flight to Columbus, close to airport. Hotel was very clean, room spacious and clean, plenty of parking. Had a full size frig, microwave, dishwasher and cook top.also had a very comfy recliner and lots of desk and closet space. Had a yummy restaurant and bar right next door, so an easy walk to the Hickory House. No hot breakfast or pool but I didn’t need that. Most reasonable priced hotel for what you get, I will stay here every time I fly to CMH.

This is a great place, full kitchen item are all ready in the room. Coffee maker , toaster plates etc. The management and staff are wonderful they are so nice. I really recommend this place if you ever need a extended stay hotel.
