I recently stayed at the Red Roof Plus Hotel and had a very disappointing experience. Upon arrival, I discovered that the elevator was broken. After reading other reviews, I found out that it had been out of service for months, which is unacceptable. The front desk initially informed me that only rooms on the third floor were available. Unfortunately, I had just had surgery on my left arm and was unable to carry my suitcase and manage my two young children up three flights of stairs. After explaining my situation, they finally offered me a room on the first floor. However, this room was filled with the strong odor of marijuana, which made our stay very uncomfortable. After driving for six hours and arriving around 11 PM with two exhausted kids, we had no choice but to sleep with the window open to mitigate the smell. Overall, this stay was far from pleasant, and I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience. The issues with the elevator and the poor room condition need to be addressed promptly.

The peoperty was very clean amd upgraded. Staff were helpful. My only complaint was that the elevator was out of order and my room on the 3rd floor. This was not a new development and i didnt see any information about the non working elevator. I am a senior citizen and climbing those stairs with my luggage at the end of a long drive was difficult. The young man at the front desk did not offer any assistance.

For the price, it was exactly what I expected. Clean and a place to sleep for the night. Glass was all over the parking lot, so not sure what happened there. Elevator was broken. Outside of that. It was worth the price I paid!

Check in was smooth and easy! Room was not the cleanest; hole in the bedsheet, hair visible under the fitted sheet and corners of the room had accumulated quite a bit of hair and crumbs. Fine for a one night stay with reasonable price!

We chose this location based on good reviews. It was to be a quick trip and we were traveling with our dog. After a very early morning and a busy afternoon, we checked in and dropped our stuff. The property was a bit rough, but seemed clean enough. We went to meet our kids for dinner. When we returned, late & exhausted, we turned down the covers on the bed and it was FULL OF BUGS AND HAIR. We were out of there in less than 5 minutes. DO. NOT. STAY. HERE.

I’ve been staying here for three years now whenever I’m visiting the Columbus area. The building is older but the property is well maintained and the rooms were recently updated. They are some of the cleanest rooms I’ve seen at any hotel in the Midwest.

When driving into parking lot I had a bad feeling.. even the windows were dirty. Went inside and was given room … upon inspection of bed sheets there was hair within the bed sheets, mold in the bathroom… was shown another room and the room smelled of cigarettes but was told it couldn’t be because there is no smoking on the property… left the property to get another hotel, paid more but it was clean.

The room was spotlessly clean and fresh and the front desk personnel were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They greeted us by sight as we came in and out and asked follow up questions to things we'd mentioned earlier. Honestly in some ways it felt more like staying at a bed and breakfast. Some of the exterior and hallway were pretty dated, but the room is what you're really there for.

There was no notice prior to booking that the elevator was broken. We had to walk up flights of stairs and I’m am disabled so stairs are quite difficult for me. The room had cockroaches and when I I formed the hotel staff they tried to accuse me of bringing a roach into the room!

Clean, quiet, and priced right. Common areas are a bit dated, but rooms are fairly new and very clean. Unlike pricier area hotels, RR was quiter and did not reek of marijuana.

The bathroom was disgusting. It had mold and rust. The walls were stained and looked like they have never been wiped down. The floor in the bathroom had hair on it and needed to be mopped. I guy at the front desk wasn’t even there for me to check in when I arrived and then we he finally came out of wherever he was, he was RUDE! Do not recommend this place. Will never stay again.

The hotel itself was nice. I requested a room on the end opposite of the freeway running by it, so it was very quiet. The man who checked us in was very hospitable and friendly. Unfortunately, the blackout curtains are too far from the wall to make the room dark. There was so much light coming in around them that I didn’t get much sleep at all. And I hate the doofie little pillows hotels are switching to. I was expecting there to be some kind of breakfast since it’s a Red Roof + hotel, but no such luck.

Awful experience. Upon arriving, there was issues with Expedia being in contact with the hotel. Not the hotels fault, but front desk was asking me to call Expedia while they were on the phone with them to try to figure out the problem. After 20 minutes of waiting in the lobby, we went to our room on the third floor. Elevator was out. The second we got onto the third floor, the temp went up 20 degrees and became humid. We paid for a smoke free room. The room REEKED of smokes. Like someone had just smoked a pack and walked out. We talked to front desk to ask for a different room or just a refund. He showed us a few other rooms that had a weird smell and he said they put air fresheners in to cover the smoke. What happened to smoke free room? After an hour of nonsense, we were begging to just get a refund, even partial because the rooms stunk and the hotel did not meet expectations. I accidently booked a non refundable room. They have no mercy with this. You will not get a refund no matter what if you get non refundable. I understand there’s policies but the rooms were just unbearable. We wanted to contact the manager, but was told she was off even though the front desk person kept calling her, but refused to let us speak with her. We ended up leaving and staying a hotel nearby that was a million times better. I tried calling the hotel when the hotel manager was suppose to be there to speak about this, but got no answer. The pictures for the hotel are extremely deceiving.

This property is a bit dated, but overall it was clean. The check in was very orderly and quick. The Mexican Restaurant next door is convenient and had good food.

This property is a bit dated, but overall it was clean. The check in was very orderly and quick. The Mexican Restaurant next door is convenient and had good food.

The hotel was clean and and staff waa great. There was a bar and lounge just across the parking lot. Alot of noise from the bar patrons all night including a loud fight. Not the hotels fault, but definitely made it harder to get rest. Otherwise would stay again.

There are limited amenities in the area around the property. It's also not safe to walk around the neighborhood due to the severe lack of sidewalks. However, the property itself is clean, in good condition, and the service was excellent. For the price, the overall experience is good.

Good stay for the value. Part motel and part hotel(doors opening to inside). Our outside facing room was comfortable and clean. Tub showed some wear. Comfortable king bed. A little skunky smelling when we stepped outside. Across the parking lot is a great Mexican restaurant.

The hotel itself was nice. I requested a room on the end opposite of the freeway running by it, so it was very quiet. The man who checked us in was very hospitable and friendly. Unfortunately, the blackout curtains are too far from the wall to make the room dark. There was so much light coming in around them that I didn’t get much sleep at all. And I hate the doofie little pillows hotels are switching to. I was expecting there to be some kind of breakfast since it’s a Red Roof + hotel, but no such luck.

It's a Red Roof Plus..... what is the plus? There was no breakfast not even continental style. Although I did appreciate the coffee and tea option always available, no decaf or hetbal tead for evenings though. Our door opened to the outside and the gasket was missing for about 2.5 inches on the bottom.

The location is convenient. The beds clean and comfortable. The bathroom was prettybeat up with some crumbly drywall. No breakfast. Vending machines only. Did have free coffee but it was very bad. Just need to plan on going somewhere to get food and coffee in the morning. Not a bad experience but will find somewhere else next time in the area

Basic, but decent enough. I had the upgrade for the "better bedding and bed sheets," or something like that. The room, mostly the bathroom, smelled like somebody had been smoking in there and the employees did their best to get rid of the smell but there was just a little bit still lingering there. There is no breakfast, there's a coffee maker in the lobby which looks like it has some pretty low-end coffee, but the room was mostly clean and the bed was also clean and comfortable.

This hotel has an overinflated rating. The exterior screams cheap motel. I requested a 2nd level room and it was "barely" on all items. It was barely clean with the bathroom that smelled so bad, that I bought lysol and sprayed the entire room/bathroom to be able to stay there. The main culprit was the shower curtain. It smelled so bad that the room itself was terrible. I think the reason for the mildew smell was lack of venting. The vent fan in the bathroom while very loud, did not remove any steam due to the thick layer of dust clogging it up. The bathroom stayed damp the whole time. I don't know if this is their model, but they NEVER cleaned my room. I had to get fresh towels. The person working was not happy to be there and was inconvenienced by us checking in. We were there for parent's weekend and homecoming so choices were slim. The only redeeming feature was the bed which was not awful. This is the reason for the 2 and not 1 star rating. We stayed far away from the hotel except to sleep because it was not clean enough to be comfortable to hang out. On the final day as I was packing, a cockroach scurried across the desk which made me rapidly pack and depart as fast as possible. I just prayed that there were no other bugs sharing our room. If you want a super cheap place to try to rest, this is not the place. Next time I'll try the Hampton down the street. I which I had done that.

Cons: - Soap scum on shower surfaces, dust on top of light fixtures over bed - Chipped tub, rust stains in bottom - Speaking of the bed, it was more like a cot, which was unkind to my old man back - Bright as the sun lights outside for back parking lot, and the light just came from all corners of the window Even for the price I got it for, not gonna be back.

The door lock was broken. Other guests were up all night running in and slamming doors and drinking. Very loud. The place looked more like an extended stay rather than a traveler’s hotel. I feel like their original ratings/reviews that I based my pick on were fabricated
