We loved the area it is located in. You can walk to almost everything. There is a free trolly that takes you to the Breakers and back The Inn is very quaint. There is a wonderful roof top area to sit and relax at. The only negative thing, the mattress was a little uncomfortable.

We had a wonderful time at the Yankee Peddler! Room was large, clean and decorated beautifully! The continental breakfast was great! The staff were great and helpful and the parking was a definite plus! Thanks for a great stay!

Nice historic house with close proximity to Thames Street. Good walking distance to restaurants and shops and very quiet at night. We walked everywhere and got uber to mansions and the cliff walk when needed. The hotel has a rooftop and sitting area around the house where we enjoyed our morning and afternoon rest. The bedroom was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. We had a good night sleep after a long walk every day. Although the bathroom was a little tight, but it was not a problem for us. Breakfast was standard with fresh fruits (my highlight was fresh berries!), oatmeal, cereal, bread, boiled eggs, muffins, croissants, etc. They also had almond milk available. All staff were friendly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a clean & cozy hotel to stay in Newport.

Overall we had a great time. We really liked the rooftop area, the continental breakfast was better than expected, the room was very nice for an Inn, albeit very light on outlets, the front desk staff were very helpful. The best thing about it is the close proximity to the Newport waterfront, shopping, dining and mansion areas.

First off, great location. Very close to Thames and pretty central for walking anywhere in Newport. Older place but clean and well kept. Very friendly staff. Our room was not very big and was really just a good place to sleep, not hang out. Continental breakfast was pretty basic. Would recommend if you are looking for a bed & breakfast place.

Had an infestation Of small ants Air conditioner very noisy. no refrigerator in room . Plugs were run on extension cords Bed uncomfortable had a valley in middle Sink and shower was not able to drain properly standing in a puddle while showering and had to wait for sink to drain when in use? I am not putting the blame on staff I wanted a small cozy feeling in but the overall conditions not acceptable for

The staff was extremely helpful throughout our stay and there were many amenities within the property. The room itself was dusty and there were many insects and webs around the corners of the room when we checked in. The corners of the room and walls could have been dusted and vacuumed. Otherwise, we had a great stay and we would stay again.

We decided last minute to stay in Newport for 2 nights. This was one of the last available places for a fair price. We were pleasantly surprised. It is a bit dated but the staff was very friendly and our room along with common spaces were very clean.

Lovely stay at Yankee Peddler for two nights while we visited Newport. Easy check-in, cute rooms, front desk were very helpful in resolving our heating issue and on-hand to answer any questions we had. Continental breakfast was standard with cereal options, muffins/pastry, oatmeal and fruit (I'm there for the fruit) and available for a good duration. Rooms could use a new mattress and new sheets (getting a bit old). Can't beat the location as it's a short 4 min walk around the corner to the main downtown street of Newport.

The property was just ok. It’s a small older inn. The room was clean but the bathroom was extremely small. It is close to downtown but there is a hill that you need to walk up and down. The staff was interesting. The front desk agent was barefoot when we arrived. The continental breakfast was ok and the cookies in the evening were great.

First time to Newport. We chose this property based on location/cost. Once parked we walked into town for lunch/dinner sightseeing. We stayed in the carriage house. Room was small but adequate. Shower is small. This is to be expected when converting a property into a small Inn. Meg at the front desk was very helpful. Breakfast was included. The warm cookies in the afternoon were a treat!

Beautiful property with strong history. If I was rating strictly based off of the inn it would be scored much higher. The lady that checked us in was helpful and very nice, however we didnt have the same experience the following morning. My husband who is Hispanic went down for brrakfast first and the two ladies working were very rude and unfriendly to him. It was pretty disappointing because besides that, this would have been a great stay.
Beautiful property with strong history. If I was rating strictly based off of the inn it would be scored much higher. The lady that checked us in was helpful and very nice, however we didnt have the same experience the following morning. My husband who is Hispanic went down for brrakfast first and the two ladies working were very rude and unfriendly to him. It was pretty disappointing because besides that, this would have been a great stay.

The staff was extremely helpful throughout our stay and there were many amenities within the property. The room itself was dusty and there were many insects and webs around the corners of the room when we checked in. The corners of the room and walls could have been dusted and vacuumed. Otherwise, we had a great stay and we would stay again.

I have been to Newport many times and stayed at other B&Bs. The service at Yankee Peddlar was awful. The front desk staff was rude on multiple occasions, there was noise on the front deck until 2am and despite booking and paying for a superior queen room they gave me one room with a double bed. They even inappropriately accused us of taking a bottle of wine from their wine tasting. When we showed them the bottle of wine we were drinking on the roof was wine we brought ourselves (because their wine was so bad) they made another snarky remark about a bottle being missing and didn’t apologize for the accusation. We were extremely disappointed in this stay and would never recommend this B&B to anyone. There are plenty of other options in the area.

Overall excellent experience, beautiful place historic neighborhood within walking distance of most attractions and restaurants. Staff were helpful and friendly with the exception of one woman on Tuesday morning who must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed. She glared at me when I told her we needed toilet paper. Eventually our room was made up and it was fine.

The Yankee Peddler gave us a perfect stay for a few relaxing days in Newport. The room was comfortable, quiet and attractive, the staff were friendly and informative, the continental breakfast was superb (broad, healthy and attractive), the location is an easy, safe 4-block walk to the waterfront (we didn't use the car once during our stay), and the free city buses stop right at the front door. Staff gave us great suggestions on places to eat and things to do. Our stay was totally enjoyable.

Nice historic house with close proximity to Thames Street. Good walking distance to restaurants and shops and very quiet at night. We walked everywhere and got uber to mansions and the cliff walk when needed. The hotel has a rooftop and sitting area around the house where we enjoyed our morning and afternoon rest. The bedroom was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. We had a good night sleep after a long walk every day. Although the bathroom was a little tight, but it was not a problem for us. Breakfast was standard with fresh fruits (my highlight was fresh berries!), oatmeal, cereal, bread, boiled eggs, muffins, croissants, etc. They also had almond milk available. All staff were friendly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a clean & cozy hotel to stay in Newport.

The location is excellent - you can walk to everything from this place. Parking is included (in an area where parking is an extremely scarce commodity and often costs extra). The staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable but could use a bit of updating.

First off, great location. Very close to Thames and pretty central for walking anywhere in Newport. Older place but clean and well kept. Very friendly staff. Our room was not very big and was really just a good place to sleep, not hang out. Continental breakfast was pretty basic. Would recommend if you are looking for a bed & breakfast place.

We had an amazing stay here while attending my son's graduation from the Navy ODS class. This is perfect, quaint, quiet inn to stay in Newport! And the breakfast is amazing!

First time to Newport. We chose this property based on location/cost. Once parked we walked into town for lunch/dinner sightseeing. We stayed in the carriage house. Room was small but adequate. Shower is small. This is to be expected when converting a property into a small Inn. Meg at the front desk was very helpful. Breakfast was included. The warm cookies in the afternoon were a treat!

We had a wonderful stay at the Yankee Peddler Inn. The Innkeeper and staff were welcoming from the moment we arrived right until we left. With daily hello’s and have a great day out in Newport. The InnKeeper gave wonderful recommendations for sight seeing, free transportation around NP and local restaurants. The Inn had a delicious breakfast every morning with several options from fresh baked goods, fresh fruit, hot and cold cereals. Coffee, Tea and Lemon water was available all day along with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies for a sweet treat. Our room was clean and spacious, bathroom was smaller but extremely clean and had extra toiletries for use. The Inn is from the 1800’s it is beautifully decorated well maintained and simply charming. The only change that I would make for our next visit is to request a room not near the front door. If you wanted to sleep in or nap before going out for the evening you hear the coming in and out of the other guests. Otherwise the YPI is deserving of 5 stars overall. See you next September!
