We could not fault our short but immensely enjoyable stay! The Parkway ticked all our boxes - from the excellent and discreet level of service in all areas to the dining menu and options. The spa was particularly good as we've often found that such amenities offered in a hotel package are lacking or incur addiotonal costs: not so here - decent pool, steam and sauna plus a welll stocked gym

We were generally pleased with our accommodation. It is surprising that the sauna and steam room are one and small compared to their capacity. The staff are very friendly and do their jobs well. The cafe by the indoor pool was not very active. It was noteworthy that they only gave water as a complimentary treat. The towel sizes were quite small. Still, it is an ideal place to relax.Thanks.

We had a wonderful stay at the Parkway Hotel & Spa in Cwmbran. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The facilities were fantastic, we especially loved the steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi, which were all spotless and incredibly relaxing. It's clear the hotel takes great pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always happy to help, which made our visit feel even more special. Our room was very comfortable, and the bed deserves a special mention – it was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in, perfect for a restful night's sleep. The food options were also excellent. Breakfast had a wide selection, from cooked items to fresh fruit and pastries, all beautifully presented. We also tried the evening meals and were impressed by the quality, flavour, and service. Whether you're after a full meal or something lighter, the restaurant has something for everyone. Some negative experience. We spent two days in their garden terraced, king sized bed room. - room was very hot and bit dirty, specially shower. - although I asked 3 times for cleaning the room, they didn't clean it till my wife asked too. Some comments been made and my wife got very sad how she been spoken to. Finally I lady came to do some quick cleaning thankfully and got us shampoo and coffee too. - the breakfast plentiful, but nothing special. But finally some helpful, smiley staff. - receptionist wasn't very helpful when we arrived, checked in. - swimming pool is nice, but overcrowded. No chance to get treatment in spa.Overcrowded maybe doesn't do justice, So many people just standing and chatting in the pool. No chance to swim. And children are jumping in the water, where it clearly says no jumping. some quieter period evening time when you can swim. - the bar is overpriced, specially the alcohol. But least some of the staff are smiling. - one of the worst experience is the checkout. firstable early/10.00/, if you have breakfast you have to rush to check out. Secondly again about receptionist - she's not smiling and no questions about how was our experience. - the whole place is very busy all the time. People come to swim from morning till evening. - they changed the lock on our door and no one bother to tell us. positive comments: - we had our privacy in our room, far from noises and crowds. - we had a weak fridge and we could sit outside. Not worth the paid price.

This was a terrible stay and we wouldnt go back again. The room was filthy, dust covered all frames, the plug socket was hanging off by the bed dangerously, the floor had two sweets wrappers on it and hadnt been hoovered at all. At dinner we ordered a beef burger and chicken burger which came to £33. They were grim, the beef burger was grey and the chicken was a dry tasteless and something you wouldnt feed to a dog. I got vinegar but in both bottles appeared to be dead bugs. See pic. The shower had no power and the shampoo dispenser was hanging off. Drains smelt awful and it stank like poop in there. The cream cakes from the day before were still in the cabinet in the morning. Breakfast was equally disgusting, and everything was dirty, which resulted in just eating a yoghurt. Lastly the bed was so uncomfortable and because nothing was clean we slept on top. Would never go back. Avoid.

A short trip over a very hot weekend in September when I could explore the grounds and enjoy the Sun. In addition the lunch and evening bar food menu is very good as is the selection of beers and ales. Disappointing that the draft cocktails were off-line and had been so for sometime and yet the pump was still illuminated inviting guests to take part.. the room and public areas are very clean and tidy and the friendliness as was the attentiveness of the staff. Excellent. The only minor drawback was the bar area around the pumps and soda dispenser had visible signs of sticky residue which of course invites fruit flies and houseflies and it’s a very easy fix, the only thing that detracted from otherwise excellent stay is the selection of non-cooked items of breakfast which seemed quite poor. Quite oddly. The fact that the entire hotel area is not covered by Über so only a regular taxi service is available . All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay

Lovely hotel overall. Room was comfortable and pool was nice. Bar area was great with lots of seats and food was very good - we ate in the restaurant on one night and the bar on another. The only let down was some guy of the bar/restaurant staff. It was obvious that some weren’t wanting to work and were lazy - who brings out a meal with condiments on the side of the plate next to the food!!! Just because she ‘couldn’t carry it’! That’s unhygienic and lazy - take 3 trips if you need to but that is grim. Why the staff in that area felt they should finish every sentence with ‘guys’ was baffling and rather annoying. Bit more professionalism would have made this a 5 star review but it was still pleasant.

Nice garden view room with seats outside and fire pit. Hotel is sometimes busy with special events. Had to wait until exactly 3pm for checkin. Room was missing robes, and coffee machine did not work. Bar staff were very nice. Reception staff a little indifferant.

The room was well equipped including 2 chairs and a small table. There was a fan, iron and a room safe which is rare in the uk. The hotel was great value for money. The pool looked very enticing but we didn’t have time to use it due to outside commitments. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Rooms far too hot - and there is no means to change the setting - nor did the window open more than a crack .. Bar menu OK, but not accurate as to what was actually served, and to not to be able to swop out chips/new potatoes etc seems a little weird!

The whole place feels very dated. Our room was spacious and comfortable, no complaints. Breakfast was ok, the filter coffee was terrible, the poached eggs were so vinegary, I couldn't finish mine. The spa is ok, again very dated. Overall it was an ok stay but for £220/night I think there are better options.

Booked for two rooms for one night only following the Coldplay concert in Cardiff. Unfortunately wasn’t allowed to check in early but expected as it was only 12:30, offered to store our luggage which was a nice touch. Rooms were nice although both had issues with the TV, either remote not working or no signal to receive Freeview. Aircon didn’t work but a fan was provided. Booked for two rooms for one night only following the Coldplay concert in Cardiff. Unfortunately wasn’t allowed to check in early but expected as it was only 12:30, offered to store our luggage which was a nice touch. Rooms were nice although both had issues with the TV, either remote not working or no signal to receive Freeview. Aircon didn’t work but a fan was provided. Staying at the hotel was nice from a property condition and cleanliness, the hotel was very empty the night we stayed as the hotel policy was for breakfast to be finished by 9.30am and checkout by 10am we asked twice for an extra hour and were granted a 30min extension at 9.45am based on the emptiness of the hotel and even if it was filled the next day there would be little amount of rooms to flip for the next day an extension to the 11.00 that we asked for would have been a great gesture and helped the customer experience. As it stands we left thinking would we come back here as its not thinking about its customers.

Receptionist was great on check in. Room was spotless and fabulous. The carafe of sherry was a really nice touch, together with the pringles and biscuits. I didn't actually use the pool but looked lovely. Food in the bar was great. The only real criticism was that the cooked breakfast buffet on my first morning was almost cold! 2nd morning I chose a cold breakfast because of that.

Nice hotel, good food with spa facilities. Can't complain for the price. Hotel in a quiet area with well kept outside areas. Only downside would be the bar staff. Quite rude and not very friendly.

Hotel was lovely pool was great staff wasn’t the best not really welcoming didn’t explain how to get to rooms and when leaving didn’t ask if we enjoyed was really nice but staff welcome needs to improve booked restaurant starters was best ever but carvery was the worse we ever had the meats was so dry and the staff serving veg on a table spoon was embarrassing we needed to ask for more I did also get overcharged by bar every time we went for drinks the price would go up when I question it i did get refund but they made me feel that I was in wrong and in morning the girl behind bar didn’t even look at me hotel fab room spotless spa stunning staff left the hotel down apart from blonde women in reception she give us more information in 10 minutes that all the staff give us in 24 hours

Extremely poor evening meal and service, and not surprisingly largely empty restaurant. Food served was cold and the bar shut just after 11pm even to hotel guests. Attitude of managerial staff left a lot to be desired and certainly not what you would expect from an alleged 4* establishment. Having stayed at this Hotel on a few occasions, standards of service have sadly declined and this was reflected in the largely empty public areas. The rooms however were to a very good standard, it was the rest of the support functions in this establishment that let this hotel down.

Car park was full when I arrived so had to park in the overflow car park and walk a bit if a trek while carrying bags. And was met met with a queue for check in. My room smelt like cigarettes and the cups had lipstick on them. Had a terrible night sleep there where children running and screaming in the corridor until midnight, followed by someone loudly banging and shouting at someones door around 1am...pool was lovely though although no staff when I arrived and two children wondering around looking for a member of staff as one has cut themselves. So was left to find my own way to the changing rooms and around the facilities.

Stayed at this hotel for a dance weekend. The food was good and and the room comfortable and spacious. We had upgraded to a Junior suite. The pool was good with a hot tub,steam room and sauna. Good location about 20-30 mins from Cardiff and 10mins from the M4. Overall a good hotel with good food.

What we liked: Nice property with very friendly reception staff especially Pippa. Never used the spa and swimming facilities but it’s great this is on offer for all residents. What could be better: Lounge bar does not serve coffee after 9pm. Food in the lounge bar could be better. What we didn’t like: Breakfast at £31 Food in the Ravelles restaurant is overpriced.

Nice hotel but dated. Could do with refreshing to bring Upto modern day standard. Bit more expensive than would expected and definitely didn't like the restaurant food standard wasn't good. Even under cooked chips and that's a something simple to cook.

Spacious room with comfortable chairs to relax and good desk space to work. Pool / Spa very nice although tiled floors are a bit slippy and towels are considered very small. Breakfast well presented and plentiful but coffee (& Tea) need to be requested each time and staff are often busy with clearing / relaying, etc - consider placing pot where guests can help themselves?? Evening Bar Food menu ok.

Disappointing that a 4 star hotel would shut its restaurant on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening and expect guests to eat in the bar and order from a limited menu?! At 6:30pm there was a queue of 10 guests ordering food from the one guy serving drinks and taking orders. The food was mediocre as well.

The entrance is spacious and the rooms are average size and comfortable. We had breakfast and dinner. The food was of high quality and it was always service with a smile. The spa felt really relaxing especially with the decor and light color's. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was lovely especially at peak times. It did get very busy as there were 2 parties and 2 corporate events whilst there for a weekend.

We find this hotel to be friendly efficient with staff that are genuinely helpful and keen to provide a good service. For us it is ideal position to meet with friends and family. Will be booking again.

Have stayed here many time. It’s due a refurbishment (no air con, old shabby decor) but it’s convenient and they have a gym and pool. However the prices are climbing alarmingly, I was paying @ £90 last year and this week it was £129. more booking direct with the hotel. When I got there the pool was out of order - main reason for staying. No partial refund was offered even though I complained. It’s worth £100 with the leisure, otherwise stay in Newport for that figure and you are closer to other eating places
