Great location, on the waterfront, walkable to everything, but still quiet. Wonderful staff, could not have been more attentive and hospitable. We loved the Mainstay Social Club, too. Rooms were spacious and well appointed.

The remodeled room was wonderful. Unfortunately the pool was closed for maintenance, even though we had called to check it would be open before booking 2 days prior to our stay. Kids were happy just playing in the room.

In the heart of historic Salem. Minutes from a number of sites. I would have given it 5 stars in all categories- Except that major renovations of the lobby and dining room made it a bit tricky to get in and out. And the only food option in the hotel was room service.

we had a 5 star stay! The hotel is the perfect location for visiting Salem. We walked to everything, and were able to leave our car safely parked right out front in their free lot (for guests only). There’s a ferry nearby you can take to Boston. Restaurants and shopping right behind our hotel and a beautiful harbor that had benches and Adirondack chairs for relaxing and taking in the view. The hotel and our room were immaculate and had beautiful nautical themed decor. The regatta pub downstairs had a great menu for breakfast lunch and dinner, you had the option to dine in (or outside) or order from their mobile website for to-go pickup. We chose takeout for breakfast, placed the order easily and paid online, and it was ready at the exact time it indicated and perfectly packaged to bring back to our room. They have fruit infused water in the lobby, it’s such a small detail but really something we looked forward to upon returning from walking around all day or heading out in the morning. We would absolutely stay here again, the location, wonderful staff and entire experience were 5 stars for us.

Wanted a very nice, clean, quiet, and comfortable hotel within walking distance to the center, and BINGO - found it! They even have their own private parking and a small restaurant. Wonderfully helpful smiling staff, coffee maker fridge, etc. Could not have been any better - perfect!

Very clean and spacious rooms with large comfortable beds, bath tub and shower combination and pleasantly decorated. It was very conveniently located near all the main attractions in Salem and a very short walk to the ocean, there were also plenty of restaurants near by to choose from. The indoor pool was a nice size and heated, and large clean towels were available to use once you entered. The reception staff were incredibly welcoming and pleasant and helped us get settled in slightly earlier than official check in time. The warm cookies available at reception were a lovely homely touch too. The only criticisms I have are that there wan any a fridge in the room and also the service in the onsite restaurant, main stay local, was lacking as we had to wait almost 40 minutes for our breakfast and it was slightly frustrating watching other guests who had ordered after us get their food before we did…I don’t know wether our order had been forgotten about but it wasn’t until after we asked the waitress that it appeared. Other then those points we had a lovely stay and if we were to be staying in Salem again we would definitely stay here again.

So very disappointed. Hotel was under construction; no restaurant, no gym, not any of the extras experienced at Halloween. Staff not friendly or helpful. Housekeeping basically only makes your bed. Not at the service or high quality experienced in the past. Will certainly try other places for next trip. TV had minimal services during the week. No streaming, no gaming, internet sketchy with phones. Over weekend TV was up to full capacity. Booked room with water view was told only King bedrooms get a water view. Vending machine was broke, tons of sodas were at the bottom blocking and one from obtaining their purchase. Very disturbing for a blind convention attendees unaware of where their purchase went. Reported to a Crystal who refunded our funds. She was consistently more professional & helpful than other staff. No directions provided at checkin no book left in the room for guidance on hotel policies. Lacked the friendliness I've come to expect at this hotel for the price you pay. Bragged to friends it was the best in all of Salem but truly disappointing. Hotel had about 3 months to warn us they would be under construction but failed to update us that service would be limited. Based on the lack of cheer the staff presented one can only assume they are unhappy and not treated well by employer. Curious if their are new owners. Was very bespoke in the past now just a typical Sheraton vibe.

Beautiful property, gorgeous nautical theme, easy walking to everywhere. We got gift cards to their restaurant which is excellent. We ate there all three days we were there and everything was wonderful. Great cocktail menu. Will definitely return.

Arriving 23.12.24 our first two nights constantly woken by most noisy AC/Heating unit ever experienced in a hotel (frequent travellers) Informed reception on Christmas Day morning they couldn't fix AND ADDMITTED OUR ROOM 203 HAD AN OLD AC UNIT so had to take and hour and a half moving rooms on 25th December over supper time on Christmas Day !! Promised refund for the two night broken sleep, only given one in the end. That apart an essential problem with the hotel is the sporadic standard of cleaning. The bathroom floor had the same rubbish and dust evident in the corners the whole time we were there and the rug the bed rested on was never cleaned. The same bits of lint and soil was there throughout our stay. I don't know is it is usual for the bedding to be left 3 days in a row unchanged. Very strange.

I would have given a 5 star. However there was some goop stuck to the mirror in our room and haie on the floor in the bathroom. Otherwise it was clean. the front desk girls were except for one was not very friendly i had to remind her of things like i had a parking ticket. The food certificate i paid for. Then the restaurant. Friendly waitress the food was not that great. Very bland and not fresh.

Beautiful decor, parking right on the property. The rooms were beautiful as well. my one complaint is finding 3 stickon eyelash clumps on my bed sheets. Makes me wonder how often the sheets are changed. I personally do not wear eye lashes, was very surprised to find them on the bed sheets upon getting into the bed.

Our room was dirty upon check in. There was an old grape and personal information on a folded piece of paper. We did let the front desk know. The restaurant is not good and the drinks all had floating black specs in it - which means mold. Even though it was convenient, I dont see us returning.

The grounds and lobby are fantastic. On-site restaurant was great. Room was spacious and clean - only minor complaints were that there is no light in the shower and no fan (or so weak of one we couldn’t hear it) in the bathroom, but everything else was perfect. Easy walk to everything in Salem. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is nicely appointed and clean. The room was large. The front desk staff was excellent. But..there was no water pressure in the older/tub shower. It was like showering with a garden hose. One of the beds squeaked. Walls paper thin. Door has to be slammed to shut completely. No one to help with luggage. The person stood there nodded to us as we dragged all our bags in ourselves. This is an expensive hotel and should be able to do better at this price point

This hotel was gorgeous, and the restaurant had truly incredible food. Location was fantastic. The room was bright and cheerful. Just so many good things about it. However, big however here, we got the junior room advertised as one king bed and one sofa bed. Yeah well I like my 13 year old was fine with the idea of a sofa bed. And even though the room presented like a sweet, it was not very well thought out because we had to move furniture around to open the sofa bed. Including a coffee table that was not on wheels. Once it was open there was hardly any room to get by it from the King bed to the bathroom and door. Worst part is it was one of the worst sofa beds in terms of comfort. And I've been on some doozies. I laid on it after they said it was uncomfortable and yep, that is a very thin and uneven mattress. You can feel every spring. Hopefully the hotel improves it, it's worth a call in advance, but just know that the sofa bed may not be a welcome addition. If you keep it as a couch, then you have a wonderful little living room for your awesome King bedroom.

The property itself was amazing and it was a beautiful room. It was pricey and for the price I paid I expected a nice bed however the bed was like sleeping on springs covered with a sheet. Absolutely horrible night sleep. You could even hear the springs creak with every movement. Was disappointed the hotel did not make any effort to discount the room or make it right.

Good location. Friendly staff. Room clean and comfortable. If your room is over the bar area it is very loud at night. Most of the room is carpeted except for area by bathroom to the entrance which is a laminate flooring. This area is extremely slippery and almost fell 2xs' when wearing socks.

Everyone seems so angry, no smiles, no greetings. The decor is fantastic but there needs to be some customer service class to show some pleasantness in that hotel. I heard the staff talking about the chef not showing up for work Monday morning, the elevators were down for a while too, saw one of the guys who was working on the elevator sit down in the lobby and devour a handful of chocolate… ladies at the front desk never looked up and only focused on the computer screens…

Miss Chris was super helpful at check in and Adam was such a gracious driver- helping to get us to dinner on time! The hotel was perfectly decorated for the season and the suite was clean and comfortable! We were able to walk everywhere and felt very safe. Each person we met was very nice and helpful!

The chamber maid service is not great. They come to make up the room terribly early, not ok if you are on vacation. If you do not fit into that window when they want to clean your room they do not come back, so you are left to clean up yourself. Difficult to communicate with staff significant language barrier.

Late night ~ 15 guests got a party at room 404 close to ours. Very loud in the room and hallway. For 10 minutes we tried the front desk and phone was always busy (suspiciously). I had to call from the cell to the hotel phone, as for guest support so someone responded to me. The employee could not have been less attentive to the complaint.

The hotel itself is very clean and in a great walkable area. Close to a number of good restaurants and great bars. Even a few secret spots if you know who to ask. The only problem I had was with the front desk announcing my room number in the lobby. That should NEVER be done for safety reasons, especially as a sometimes solo traveler. Please address this with the staff. If you have written it down on the key card it doesn't need to be said out loud.

We had a fantastic stay at the Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites. The hotel was exceptionally clean and well maintained, making us feel comfortable and at home right away. The staff were incredibly nice and welcoming, everyone we spoke to was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. They gave us great recommendations for local attractions and restaurants, which made exploring Salem even better. It’s also the perfect spot for families. The location is very walkable to many of Salem’s most popular attractions, so it was easy to get around without worrying about parking. We truly enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back again. Highly recommend!

This hotel was wonderful. All staff we interacted with were cheerful and courteous. It was extremely convenient to downtown. We parked when we got there and didn’t get in the car again until we were leaving. The room was beautiful and clean and had everything we were looking for.

The first discrepancy was that it's on the waterfront. It is not. It is walking distance but you can not see the waterfront from the property. Second, our airconditioner didn't work but they put in a portable unit the next morning that worked well. Our refrigerator also didn't work in our room. They were unable to fix or replace but wanted us to change rooms from a King Deluxe to a room with 2 queens. We also booked 3 deluxe king rooms and somehow, between Expedia and the Hotel, we had 2 king rooms and 1 room with 2 queens. We still have not received the price difference from Expedia. They said it would come from the hotel but we already paid Expedia and have not received any reimbursement. We loved Salem and the hotel was very convenient to the waterfront, restaurants, stores. The staff was nice and tried to accomadate as much as they were able

Phenomenal location, walking distance to all the major sites and great views of the water. Staff was friendly, parking was easy and plentiful. Several unique shopping opportunities and restaurants/bakeries within walking distance as well. We would absolutely return.

Very clean, stylish decor, a very comfortable stay for our first time visiting Salem! The location is great and walkable to everything you want to see in Salem. We really enjoyed the food from the one on-site restaurant, Mainstay Social, for room service and take out. I would stay here again!

We were very happy with our stay at Salem Waterfront Hotel and Suites. It appeared the be a fairly new property. The rooms were sparking clean, spacious, very comfortable, and well-equipped with toiletries, a fridge and coffee-maker. The location was fantastic. We were able to walk to all the sites we wanted to visit. We appreciated the fact that there was a restaurant at the hotel, where we eat breakfast. (The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner, although we ate those meals elsewhere.). The service was very friendly and helpful. The manager even printed directions for us. The only quirk was the temperature control in the room. There wasn’t a central air control for heat, but the room did have a space heater that was sufficient for the heat.

It was very conveniently located near all the main attractions in Salem and a very short walk to the ocean, there were also plenty of restaurants near by to choose from. The indoor pool was a nice size and heated, and large clean towels were available to use once you entered. The reception staff were incredibly welcoming and pleasant and helped us get settled in slightly earlier than official check in time. The warm cookies available at reception were a lovely homely touch too. The only criticisms I have are that there wan any a fridge in the room and also the service in the onsite restaurant, main stay local, was lacking as we had to wait almost 40 minutes for our breakfast and it was slightly frustrating watching other guests who had ordered after us get their food before we did…I don’t know wether our order had been forgotten about but it wasn’t until after we asked the waitress that it appeared. Other then those points we had a lovely stay and if we were to be staying in Salem again we would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful facility! The staff was friendly, and the room was very clean. My only complaint is that for a $500 per night room, the bed was horrible! I could feel every spring in our queen mattress. The Regatta Pub was terrible. I do not recommend eating there. Two of us ordered eggs Benedict and our eggs were extremely overcooked and the hollandaise sauce is nothing like I’ve ever seen or tasted. My husband ordered his eggs over easy and his were extremely overcooked as well. You’d can tell the ingredients used were frozen, not fresh. The pancakes appeared to be microwaved. I expected more for such a “fancy” expensive restaurant. I’m glad we chose to go our for dinner and waited until the morning of departure to eat at the pub.

The hotel room door and the bathroom door were sticky and askew. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable and they do not provide rollaway beds for families.

Our stay was excellent! We had a very nice room and the air conditioner worked well so we slept comfortably. Many restaurants and shops were easily within walking distance and if you fancy boats, the harbor was full of them to admire. History buffs or not there's plenty to see and do here. Great visit!

We had a great stay. The location is excellent. The hotel is well maintained and the staff was helpful. I appreciated that they offer a transportation vehicle even though we didn't get to use it. The hotel bar closed earlier than we expected, but we were able to walk to another one close by. They don't offer a complimentary breakfast, that would be my only complaint. I might add, the parking lot is remarkably small. I could see how parking could be an issue, but it didn't impact our stay.
