I absolutely loved my stay here. It’s on the banks of the Nile River and my room had a beautiful balcony right in the water edge. The big windows made the view from my bed a 10. The property also has a free boat ride at 6:30. The breakfast was amazing and all the staff were first class. Very kind, helpful and hardworking. I enjoyed my one night here but wish it would have been more. Refugio from Washington State.

excellent staff - effective, friendly, funny, caring. pool and pool area was great. bar area by the water was superb. quiet and interesting with great views. rooms are small but compact and fine. (windows need more security - easy to “break” in). i avoided leaving the property.

Really nice hotel but it doesn’t have a gym, you’d have to cross the river and go to the Movenpick and use their gym instead. The pool is also small but the staff are really nice and the restaurant overlooks the Nile so breakfast is amazing

Stunning location on the Nile, couldnt have been happier to arrive here after 2 nights in Cairo. Everyone helpful and friendly, lovely swimming pool, dinner, and breakfast. You can take feluccas directly from the hotel. Highly recommended, would return here and to Aswan any time. Amazing.

This hotel has an excellent location on the Nile, pretty landscaping, and a nice pool and dining overlooking the Nile River along with a good Italian restaurant. That said, the rooms get a lot of noise from next door with loud music and some sewer smell, and bathrooms flood easily. A more helpful staff, better towels, and a few quick fixes would make this a better hotel.

Really enjoyable stay at the Nile Obelisk. View over the Nile whilst eating in the restaurant or sunbathing by the pool is second to none. Great VFM and I’d happily stay here again.

The lower end rooms looked old and worn bit overall clean. The shower head didnt stay up and water did not drain properly. The nice restaurants, great staff, nice pool, complimentary nile cruise and good secuirty makes up for this. All restaurant prices include tip and taxes. Price and quality were reasonable

Lovely property on the Nile river. Great views. Gardens and pool area were beautiful. Staff in the hotel and restaurants were fantastic. Rooms were a tiny bit small but still comfortable and overlooking the garden which I loved. Overall great stay and would definitely come again!

Very friendly and accomidating staff. They exchanged my money and there was no tip expected. Dining options were great and the location was perfect next to market and the Nile. The only disappointing thing was the cleaningness, there were hairs all over our bathroom when we walked in. If they raised their standards of cleaning then it would be a 5 stair to me.

Não gostei. Hotel caro, mas extremamente sujo e antigo. O quarto estava muito sujo com um tapete nojento que tinha pedaços de unhas e outras coisas grudadas, se via que não era aspirado há muito tempo. Cheiro de esgoto no banheiro e ralo do box entupido. Lençol de péssima qualidade e desgastado. Tv do quarto sem acesso à internet e sem canais disponíveis. Café da manhã ruim, com tolhas das mesas sujas com restos de comida e muito caro para o que oferece. Só a localização é boa. Mas não recomendo de jeito nenhum!

Very poor condition. Rooms are not clean and renovated. Shower broken, window to the garden was broken, lock behind the door was broken and in the late night the stag tried to secure the window with nail and hammer. Breakfast food quality very poor. I wasn’t happy with my choice of this hotel.

The property was not well maintained. There were food dirty plates outside the suites for 2 days. Stairs were extremely dirty with debris. Carpets were not vacuumed for days. The hotel charged us $100 per person for New Year’s Eve dinner even though we told them we cannot attend. The price they charge for foreigners is 10 times more than locals. Very unfair!

This is a very nice, well kept property. The rooms are pretty nice, the breakfast buffet has plenty of variety and the hotel is located at the edge of the Nile so the views are pretty nice. Staff is also very helpful in arranging transportation to local sites. On the downside, the AC isn't strong enough to keep up with the intense summer heat and the WiFi in the rooms is pretty much non-existent.

Our room was spacious and had a large balcony overlooking the Nile River. Our room had everything one could ask for including a large, comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge. Service at this hotel was excellent. We were really pleased with our choic.

This hotel is right on the Nile, and is very pretty. The neighborhood around the hotel is fairly rough, and full of hustlers. The on site restaurants are decent, the pool is nice. The rooms are nice sized

Great, beautiful and unique location straight on the Nile. Easy to walk to many things from there. The staff was all really nice. Also, the pool area is pretty big. The breakfast was alright. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Shower flooded a bit when in use. And it was very noisy also inside the room from people walking by and children playing right outside. Families apparently go to the pool on day passes and this can be a very loud affair, also inside the room if close to the pool.

Restaurant and other staff were wonderful. Room layout was great. Air conditioner was loud and had a very bright light which made it difficult to sleep. We booked two Nile view rooms and were given one that had an obstructed view. The manager moved us to a new room that had a Nile view after we complained. The bed pillows were not comfortable at all. Overall though, it was a good stay.

Given the fact that there are very limited choice of main stream clean hotels in Aswan, this hotel falls somewhere in the middle. On one end you have high class hotel like Sofitel, on the other hand there are numerous "hotels" in unmarked street near a rubbish dump.Within that context, Obelisk was very clean, convenient, next to the corniche and staff, particularly Ahmed Khadari were very polite and courteous. Whether, it was worth £80 per night is a different issue. Breakfast was non descriptive. Rooms were adequate and came with some cheap toiletries such as shampoo, gel....

We booked the property for the 1-bedroom suite with the Nile view. We were going to be in Aswan during the high, high season between Christmas and New Year. I normally usually stay in chain hotels (for example we stayed at the Hilton in Luxor) because I want a consistent and reliable product. But during high season, the price for Aswan’s Old Cataract hotel was an eye-watering $1200/night and Mövenpick in Elephantine island was $600/night which was more than I wanted to pay so I had to consider other options and decided to book Nile Obelisk’s 1-bedroom suite with Nile view. It turned out to be the best decision. Well-priced and arguably the best room in the Easy Bank. The room is renovated and very well-appointed. The Nile views overlooking Elephantine island are gorgeous. I booked this hotel not having high expectations but it was a sleeper hit. If you can pay a little more for the 1-bedroom suite with a balcony and Nile views (limited availability), you won’t regret it.

This hotel claims to be 4 stars, but it feels more like 3. The suite overlooking the Nile was comfortable and relaxing — definitely the highlight of my stay. However, service fell short. The front desk staff were not very friendly, and the concierge quoted high tour prices, then tried to bargain, which felt unprofessional. At breakfast, I had to clear my own table and find silverware. The common areas also need an update. With better service and a refresh, this could be a true 4-star hotel. For now, it’s a nice stay with a great view — but manage your expectations.

We did not need airport shuttle. We used private transfer from Luxor to Aswan. Humbling experience during the stay. People were so amazing, our laundry was done for the next day, super affordable. The staff was incredible, we celebrated our anniversary during the trip. The hotel gave us a cake which we shared with the staff. The sunset boat ride was expectacular. For sure the beat hotel we stayed in Egypt

The best thing about the property is its location! It is right on the Nile and within walking distance to the Aswan Bazar. This combination is the most important thing in Aswan. Having said that, please note that the rooms are slightly dated, but very functional and clean. The breakfast area is amazing with breathtaking view on the Nile, what else do you need?! If you have the right expectations about the room conditions (dated, but clean and functional), you will have a great stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

Probably the best location on the east side of Nile, right in front of the Aswan Souk, and right next to the docking area of cruise ships. Layout of the hotel premises is very unique. Excellent buffet style breakfast with tons of varieties. Breakfast hall right on top of the Nile. In short, you can't go wrong with this beautiful hotel. Our only regret was not being able to stay for more than one night.

Excellent stay, and very well looked after. We were sceptical having read some reviews, but in comparison to similar stays across the country it is in line with expectations. While the furniture in the bedroom was slightly dated, it was spotless, comfy bed, and excellent shower. Air con was great. Pool area was wonderful, especially after a long day. There were some bugs but this is normal considering it is next to the Nile. Didn't put us off getting in during the 45 degree heat! Breakfast was okay, but similar to other stays at the price bracket, it lacked fresh options. Lots of processed cheese and meats and some pastries. Drinks were great, main highlight was the ability to fill up our own water bottle! They also provided a breakfast bag when we went to Abu Simbel. Honestly a great stay, and we struggle to see another hotel with the same appeal and right on the Nile. We'll be back!

That said, the rooms get a lot of noise from next door with loud music and some sewer smell, and bathrooms flood easily. A more helpful staff, better towels, and a few quick fixes would make this a better hotel.

It’s all you need for a stay in Aswan. The pool is 24 hours which is nice. The restaurant is not good - go somewhere else for food. But it’s ok, if you’re out during the day sightseeing and all you need is a decent room, this place does the job. Don’t expect luxury

Beautiful property and rooms. Checkin and checkout service was excellent. Dining is next to the Nile which has beautiful views. Breakfast buffet was just ok compared to other places I have stayed and options/service was very lacking at breakfast. Overall and excellent stay and value and would recommend it.

Wow, did I luck out with this hotel or should I say resort? It’s located right on The Nile at water level. All the other hotels in Aswan are behind the Corniche, with the exception of the famous Old Cataract which is out of my budget and actually set further up on the cliffs. My favourite spot was out on the lounge swing at the water’s edge with a view of the West Bank. My room was set along the riverfront in a long line of rooms. It was spacious with a comfortable bed (not always a given in this region); large washroom (with too short a glass wall to stop the water from flooding the floor); kettle, coffee and tea; TV; a short bench for carry-on size luggage only; and a work desk. There are two restaurants, a waterside cafe and a huge pool deck with music and a bar. Breakfast was included with my booking and the array of dishes on offer was impressive. It’s a good location for shopping and was also just a short distance down the bank from my Nile cruise boat. This is the place to stay in Aswan, unless you can afford the Old Cataract!
