The parking lot is strange and ways to reach it seem as though you should have an off-road vehicle as the terrain is very rough. The wait for check in was long, but staff was nice. The room itself was mediocre with a musty/damp smell. It had some cosmetic damage to the walls in the bathroom, the shampoo and conditioner wall containers were not stocked and there wasn't enough towels or washcloths for two people. The breakfast room is small and we had to wait in line outside the door. The food was average. There was coffee and infused water in the lobby which was a nice touch. However, the lounge area in the lobby was dirty. The table contained spilled beverage and had a beverage container left on it for more than 24 hours. The pool and hot tub area was the highlight of the stay. The hot tub was the perfect temp and had a lot of space. The pool was cool, but clean and refreshing. In a room just off the lobby, there was an "arcade" that had 3 claw games and another unique string cutting game. Have never seen a room like that before in a hotel. This hotel is close to many stores and places to eat. It is also less than 20 minutes from Canal park.

You get what you pay for. Very outdated and not the cleanest. Paper thin walls and rude guests will ensure a terrible nights sleep. The back security door is broke and anyone can walk in after they make it past 30 pot holes in the parking lot. Overall we survived and the location is excellent being right next to a Mexican joint, a DQ, and a Subway. 12 min drive to Canal Park.

Ran out of food. Pool and hot tub closed. Many things out of order. Even door handle to lobby entrance was falling off. Water from shower ran across bath floor. Inadequate lighting and light switch by door did not work. Uncomfortable bed.

Ok for the price. Parking lot is still a disaster. Wi-Fi wasnt working the first day. Hot tub wasnt full enough so the water was at my waist when seated and the jets werent fully under the water. Girl at the front desk didn't seem to give a crap about anything. Last year we stayed there and there was a water main break so no running water. Big inconvenience but they offered a significant discount. I ended up getting about $20 back. So i likely will not stay here again.

This place was terrible.....there was a cockroach in our room....the hotel is a mess....outside appearance is horrible....scarry looking people hanging around....the breakfast was a joke ...the toaster wouldn't work....very bad place...extension cords all over the place....I would not recommend this place to anyone..

Front desk was rude checking in, eating while checking me in. Talking with a mouth full of food. Keys didn’t work so I went back to the desk and it was an inconvenience for the lady to activate the keys. When entered the room it smelled of cigarettes badly!! Used toilet paper in the microwave, was not vacuumed, shower had gunk and hair stuck to the walls, poop around the toilets, mud splattered on the ways. Only two lights worked. Switched us rooms and the next room was just as bad. Dead bugs in the drawers, sheets were covered in hair and crumbs.

Breakfast was very poor. The sausage was undercooked. Eggs were instant. Very disappointing. The bathroom was not very clean.Especially the floor around the toilet. The back entry we came in , had all kinds of construction materials and plaster , laying all over. The trash receptacles were right outside that door and they were totally overflowing , and I saw no recycle containers. The grounds around the building look like a waste land. The air conditioner was very loud.And also the exhaust fan in the bathroom. We did not sleep very well at all. Would never stay there again.

There was hair and stains still in the bathtub. I'm only hoping the sheets were changed. The entrance to the back parking lot was a dirt road with huge potholes you needed to try to avoid. We started in a room downstairs… cockroaches fell from the water-damaged ceiling onto my girlfriend as she took a bath. There were also cockroaches in the vanity cabinet. After killing two of them, we took them to the front desk. Staff was very helpful and moved us to another room upstairs. That room had an unmade bed and garbage in the bins. They then moved us to a third room which was mostly fine, though there were stains on the bedspread.

I found live bedbugs in my room, which was absolutely filthy. The hotel refused to refund me. I had to treat my belongings for bedbugs for weeks. Expedia would not refund my money either and I ended up going through my credit card company. Bedbugs. Stains everywhere, horribly dirty. Do not stay here.

It was okay. Room had gym stuck on the floor. The sheets were stained. Comforter was stained. Floor was dirty. TV and AC worked well. Pool and hot tub made up for it. Nice people.

The lady at the front desk was very nice at check-in. However, the room was dirty and we couldn’t shower because we couldn’t get water. A housekeeper came and worked on it and she had problems getting the water to come out. Never again and I don’t recommend you staying there either.

This is budget hotel so keeping that in mind, it was an alright stay. We stayed only for a night passing through. The issue for lower score was the condition of the room. The air conditioner was broke and didnt cool well, it was also clogged with dirty filter grime and the filter door was hanging off when we walked in lol right off the bat husband actually had to clean it when, and try to fix it closed. Also, the smell :( room had a strong odor. The air that blew out of the ac was also stinky, regardless his efforts to clean it. Im a budget traveler so im not looking for nothing fancy, just clean. a new air unit (atleast) and ripping the old carpet out would probably do it wonders! Apart from that- check in was good, the complimentary breakfast had really good selection, loved the waffle maker for staying with kids! The pool was small but was nice to have, always a plus with a pool! theres a subway across the street. walkable. All in all, I would stay again if i had to.

TV did not work. Shower/toilet area very small. Waffle maker not functional. No eggs or sausages. Breakfast very spartan. Parking lot was in a large state of disrepair. Desk staff was excellent. A/C was noisy. Curtain needed to be fixed. Noisy guest without shirt in hallway yelling at others in room to let them in.

The TV, and the A/C in our room didn't work. The desk clerk attempted to get the TV working but was unsuccessful. The A/C filter was filthy, and as an HVAC Tech, I cleaned it and the coil, but it never really worked well, and needs to be fully serviced. We didn't spend much time in the hotel, so neither issue was a deal breaker, merely an inconvenience. All of the staff we dealt with were polite and very helpful.

Awful!! I was told to upon arrival that I had to pay an additional 50.00 fee for processing which I refused to pay , explaining to the manager that there was no mention of this fee anywhere online and it wasn't mentioned when I had called earlier that day regarding check in. I was told this was a new policy and that I needed to vacate the room because the fee would not be waived and that I should be grateful that he wasn't going to charge me for canceling the reservation. I left with no place to stay.

Please don’t stay here. Don’t let the price entice you. We had to be checked in to 3 rooms before we got one that wasn’t occupied by people we did not know. Took that as a sign to lock our door from inside immediately. Good thing because at 9pm and midnight two attempts to enter our room. Front desk blamed two separate reasons. She was very nice to us for not getting angry, but I had to strongly persuade her to come up to the floor to make sure our 3rd try at a room was vacant. It wasn’t, but at least she was present to finally find us an available room. Good grief. Plus we witnessed two other groups experiencing similar problems.

Worst service, we stayed there for 4 days they never changed the bed sheets or towel, never came to check we need more towels or some napkins. We were out of toilet paper rolls.

Nothing fancy here but it was clean and was a perfect location to access the airport. The staff was great and very helpful when my car wouldn't start at 3:30 in the morning. A cab was called so my Grandson made his flight on time.

The front desk staff person was excellent and very competent. She was basically running the entire hotel by herself. The maintenance staff were non-existent and of little assistance for a broken TV and the request of a rollaway bed.

when I arrived at about 6 p.m. there was a long line of visitors all waiting to check in. they did not have anyone to clean the rooms and the group had to wait until late in the evening to check in. I had friends waiting to meet for dinner so not a big deal for me, but others were very upset. The front desk people were as helpful as they could be, but it was a very bad situation. they confirmed my reservation and let me drop my bag behind the desk which was very nice. after i returned at 11:00 p.m. I still had to wait to get checked in.

I had a nice stay while I was here, they were able to make a few accommodations for me and my partner which we really appreciated and they were at no additional charge. Got there earlier than check-in but they were able to switch our room so we were able to get ready at the hotel before our event. We even woke up late and they allowed us to have an extra hour to pack up so we didn’t have to scramble.

The property smelled like weed, the front desk guy was smoking a bowl when we walked up, the room was dirty, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, there were only a few towels given, our keys didnt work on the exterior doors. I wouldnt recommend anyone stay here.

The parking lot is strange and ways to reach it seem as though you should have an off-road vehicle as the terrain is very rough. The wait for check in was long, but staff was nice. The room itself was mediocre with a musty/damp smell. It had some cosmetic damage to the walls in the bathroom, the shampoo and conditioner wall containers were not stocked and there wasn't enough towels or washcloths for two people. The breakfast room is small and we had to wait in line outside the door. The food was average. There was coffee and infused water in the lobby which was a nice touch. However, the lounge area in the lobby was dirty. The table contained spilled beverage and had a beverage container left on it for more than 24 hours. The pool and hot tub area was the highlight of the stay. The hot tub was the perfect temp and had a lot of space. The pool was cool, but clean and refreshing. In a room just off the lobby, there was an "arcade" that had 3 claw games and another unique string cutting game. Have never seen a room like that before in a hotel. This hotel is close to many stores and places to eat. It is also less than 20 minutes from Canal park.

This property was one of the few remaining in Duluth during a busy fall weekend. It was adequate and met our needs. Getting to it through old pot-holed back roads and old parking lots was a bit of adventure. There was a busy Mexican restaurant next door that probably added to the noise and drunk guests in the building.

The Econo Lodge is easy to find in Duluth next to the Miller Hill Mall. It is located next to a highway but the room we had, which was on the end and nearest to the highway, was very quiet. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the room too. The clerk who checked us in was very sweet and even suggested a Mexican restaurant, Maya, which was next to Econo Lodge. We’d recommend this hotel!

You get what you pay for. Very outdated and not the cleanest. Paper thin walls and rude guests will ensure a terrible nights sleep. The back security door is broke and anyone can walk in after they make it past 30 pot holes in the parking lot. Overall we survived and the location is excellent being right next to a Mexican joint, a DQ, and a Subway. 12 min drive to Canal Park.

A little more old-fashioned/simple design. The staff is very nice, overall quiet when we stayed, and breakfast is provided. Parking is easy and the location is right in the middle of everything (wells fargo, grocery stores, food, etc).

Staff where very nice, continental breakfast was good. It was quiet even though there were a lot of people staying there. We did not use the pool so can't comment on that. We got there at around 9 pm and left by 10 am so there wasn't a lot of time there.

Staff was very nice. I chose the lower price hotel because they still had one hot item on the breakfast buffet...waffles. Well no waffles on Wednesday. They said they ran out. No waffles on Thursday and Friday. Same story. It was obvious the waffle maker had not been used for some time. Finally on Saturday....Waffles!! If they are only serving a hot choice on the weekends, they should say so. Otherwise everything was good.

This is a great budget option. The room was spacious and had everything needed, except it was missing hand and shower soap! There were hairs in the shower and the walls had areas of gunk. The breakfast was minimal with no hot items (trays were labeled but empty). No hot water for tea and only apples for fruit. There was a wait at check in with 4 people in line. The gentleman was nice and professional. In the morning the desk was vacant once and the other time had 2 girls that didn’t acknowledge us. Overall the property is aged.

The price was reasonable. The first room we were given was not made up yet. The second room was clean, but had a slight smell like wet dog. The TV remote did not work. The hot tub and pool were nice. We had a comfortable and restful night. Would stay again for the price.

Staff was friendly at check in, and it went quick. The roads around the property were terrible a lot of pot holes. Our room had a weird odor to it and the beds had miss matching sheets and bedding. The shower was confused to run. But otherwise it was okay. It was noisy with the doors closing. But not terrible. Overall. The pool and hot tub were running efficiently and they have a continental breakfast

Breakfast was very poor. The sausage was undercooked. Eggs were instant. Very disappointing. The bathroom was not very clean.Especially the floor around the toilet. The back entry we came in , had all kinds of construction materials and plaster , laying all over. The trash receptacles were right outside that door and they were totally overflowing , and I saw no recycle containers. The grounds around the building look like a waste land. The air conditioner was very loud.And also the exhaust fan in the bathroom. We did not sleep very well at all. Would never stay there again.

The staff was very friendly and the area was nice. There was a Sam's Club and places to eat within walking distance. The toilet kept running after it was flushed until I fixed it. The toilet seat was very loose. The breakfast was marginal at best and they ran out of many things 45 minutes before it ended.

AC did not work ... they fixed it and then broke again... TV did not work, shower hot - cold did not work well..... no stopper in shower.... no elevator.... Parking lot was in fair condition.... Breakfast was very minimal...but the room was clean. $110 sadly does not get you much.

Security issue dont stay on bottom floor. No window locks on any rooms on main floor. Safety concern of theft, assault, child abduction or squatters. Room is nicely decorated, clean and bed is comfortable. They have spent money on decorating and flavor creamers but staff is aware so owners have chosen not to fix windows. I can understand windows are costly to replace but a lifting safety bar is cheap. Everyone should check their window locks when staying on bottom floor as this is not the first hotel we have encountered with this problem. I have found similar problems at motel 6 in Minneapolis. We also previously stayed at a superior wisc hotel who had a squatter. Hotel burned down and is no longer there, possibly related to squatters. So the wind picked up a lot early in the morning on my last night there. The wind made the windows rattle and kept me awake for over an hour. The rooms were clean but otherwise could use an overhaul. Also the website says that they serve breakfast, which they said that they don’t and were trying to take it off of the site

Room initially looked nice and clean. Found someone’s hair nicely balled up on the wall of the shower and the bathroom light was flickering about to burn out. Mattresses could be replaced, it was old and ended up with a sore back in the morning. Over all decent stay for what you’re paying.

TV remote didn’t work and was taped together. Shower drained poorly, with a visible hairball stuck in it. Shower curtain had black mold in it. Staff was very helpful though, just you get what you pay for in some regards.
