Holiday Inn Detroit Northwest - Livonia by IHG

Hot tub and restaurant was advertised on website. When we got there for check in we were told that they didn’t have either. The hot tub a restaurant was the whole reason I booked at that location. In the future I will not be booking at this location

This property was in a good location and clean the only problem that I had was the pool wasn't in service and that was one of the reasons why I got the room

No whirlpool and bar was closed a year ago. Breakfast buffet for $10 was great.

I wish I could upload photos of this place. The Expedia pictures must be WAY out of date. There is no restaurant/bar service.The entire area is just a mish mash stack of chairs/tables. The breakfast which you have to pay extra for is terrible mostly because the area is filthy. Garbage bins overflowing, food on the floor, was told by staff "we don't have any more plates" apparently they ran out of the styrofoam. It took a manager to find something so we could plate our food. It looks like they haven't washed the table clothes under the hot plates in weeks. The ongoing adjacent construction was less disturbing than the filth. As a long time Expedia member I have never seen such misrepresentation of a property by their website. One bright spot, the bed was comfortable and room reasonably clean.

Hot tub was broken, parking was free but chaotic the hotel was great!

Hotel was under construction so pool was not usable until later in the day and the hot tub was not usable at all while we were there. Pool is very small. Charged$10/person for a normal hotel type breakfast and half of it was Luke warm to cold

We booked this hotel because it had a hot tub- we had a long drive and a nice soak is what we needed- hot tub was out of service -

There is no shuttle service offered or proposed. There are no dining facilities.

Upon arrival there was a notice at the front desk that said hot tub was out of service. I asked how long the spa had been broken and the girl replied about 2 months. I asked why wasn't that info posted on their hotel listing and she said she wasn't sure. The other women at the front desk interjected and informed me that maintenance had just been there the day before to fix the heater so it would be very warm but not the normal 104 degrees. In the room, the beds were not very supportive or comfortable. The fridge was barely cold. There were only 3 towels in the bathroom, even though we had a booking for four... There was conditioner, lotion, and a bar of hand soap, but not any shampoo or body wash in the the bathroom. Well once we got to the pool, low and behold, the spa was cold to say the least. The pool was actually warmer than the spa! And there were no towels whatsoever. Not only that, but the bar/restaurant that they advertised all over their site had apparently permanently closed! The only good thing I can really say about the hotel is that it was very clean and looked very nice. Bottom line, they withhold information and lie about what's happening on their property so that they won't lose customers. People are paying a lot of money to stay at these hotels, so they really need to start informing guests about maintenance issues or closing/changes to their properties, or stop advertising these amenities on their websites!

Bathroom shower could have been cleaner, mold at drain and seams, not my hair in the tub.

The toilet was not cleaned from prior patrons. Disgusting!

This was an okay place to stay for the price. Breakfast was fine although they only had one waffle maker which made getting food slow. Our door key repeatedly did not work so we had to get it replaced at the front desk 6 times during our 3 night stay. The bathroom was not super clean either. It was a fine place to sleep but it felt like a low budget operation.

Nice area. Conveniently located. Stayed here after a golf outing nearby. Unfortunately my room was not cleaned properly (food on floor near the bedding area, the bathroom had a dirty wash cloth hanging over shower head , as well as something sticky all over the floor). We were also booked next to a room with a dog which barked all night. Not sure why there was a dog in a room, but at the very least, precautions should have been taken to other guests stay into consideration (it appeared that there were others booked next to and across from this room as well). There were only HAND towels stocked in the pool area (which would be expected on a weekend, but my stay was in the middle of the week). Breakfast is $10 if you want it. Other than that, there is NO complementary coffee or tea (in the morning) offered in the lobby.

TERRIBLE cleaning service!!! We had to call all 3 days for towels and trash bags. Never vacuumed never straightened beds! Very disappointed

Great amenities! The restaurant is excellent and bar open until 10PM. Staff is available and accessible, clean rooms and timely service. Only issue - the free Wi-Fi does not work in this hotel. Bring your hotspot or put your phone into mobile hotspot mode if you need Internet access for your laptop.

I loved the way the room looked. It seemed updated and modern. I do wish there was some signage in the room with basic information like breakfast times, check out times, etc... But overall great stay and would stay again

Large modern rooms, good lighting and clean. Comfortable temp controls. Good breakfast of eggs, meats and that awesome waffle maker. Carpet was probably not one I would go shoeless on but that is just me in every hotel. Nothing to complain about at all.

I was happy with everything except the heating A/C unit in my room. Arrival first night was after 11:00 PM and the unit blew cool air all night and developed a whining noise after awhile (belt issue) At this point it was 2:00 AM and switching rooms was not convenient. Next day, told Mgmt about noise and they were going to investigate and fix. Came back to room after 11:00 PM and told it was fixed. After 30 minutes, heat was better and then the sound came back even worse. Third night it was supposed to be fixed. It was not. Finally had room change. Very surprising that a hotel this new and nice has issues like this with heating units. My first 2 nights were with very uncomfortable temps.

Stay was fine at first despite the somewhat rude check in guy. The next morning however I went to shower and there was no running water at all. Called the front desk and they said it was maintenance related. No warning at all and wanted to charge $50 for a late check out. Disappointing that the front desk seemed to care at all.

The front desk staff were very nice, but we had to change rooms twice. First because the bolt did not work second due to the noise. The kicker was that or room was never made up over three nights. I could tell that the room had been entered, but nothing cleaned for the first two nights, on the third we received fresh towels, but still the beds were not made. Inexcusable.

Front staff were just average. Wasnt rude but also not overlt friendly. When i had a few questions the front desk staff made me feel kind of stupid. First time ive ever been detroit and staff wasnt overly welcoming. The hotel itself was pretty good, constructuon made it hard to get to, and thats where the front staff wasnt helpful and what to them theyre used to, as a first time visitor to bith the city and hotel, i was not. Not very welcoming. Also signage for holiday inn could have bene set up by the road because the official sign and trance was blocked off and looked like was under permanent construction. Again, looked run down and not welcoming. Gotel should really make extra effort to fix these easily fiaxable things. Beds were fabulous and rooms were good condition. The only lacking was a fan in the batjeoom which tends to get hot from both showers ajd just having to sit for any length more than 2 mins...no air flow whatsoever. And we made rhebmaitqkr kf leaving it closed off after someone's shower and 2 hours later was still steamy and hot in bathroom. Rhe inside hallways also felt like the bathroom like no air flow and hot. Feels like the hotel is being cheal bot to air condition the inside hallways at all. This isnt motel 6. I paid extra for holiday inn even over best western and other decent average hotels. I would NOT stay here again with all of these issues desite the clean rooms and comfortable beds. Unless the price was lower or issues addressed.

Our bed was very comfortable. The front desk employee was not friendly during our interactions. Our window shade was broken which let in the light from the always busy expressway. We requested the shade be fixed twice, to no avail. Maintenance came once, but the shade was not fixed. We did not have hot water for baths or showers. We also requested this be fixed and it was not. The hot tub was broken which was the sole reason that we chose this hotel because my spouse has Rheumatoid Arthritis and travel leaves her in an incredible amount of pain. The hot tub was key. In the absence of the hot tub, a hot bath would have worked but the water in the bathtub would not get hot and was also broken. In email, the GM offered to refund one night of our six-night stay. When we mentioned it to the front desk as we were checking out, she was once again unfriendly and not helpful. As we drove away, the GM called and denied offering to comp one night but finally acquiesced and said he would agree to comp one night of our stay. I was here for very important meetings and thought I could rely on this hotel for a stress-free stay. That is not what we experienced.

From checking to check out, all the staff were amazing!!!! Super nice, friendly, professional, knowledgeable and more. I loved how the front desk was always attended by someone and they were always saying hi and how are you, is everything ok. The room was pretty clean, pool was nice and breakfast was a very decent size. Not just muffins. Will definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. We got married and the Manager Billy went above and beyond during our stay. We will definitely stay here whenever we’re in town.

I enjoyed the hotel it’s self but the lady at the front desk was very rude and judgemental and made me and my guest feel very uncomfortable and unwelcomed you guys should look into getting better staff to greet your guest I actually plan to call corporate regarding the issue because that was not a great feeling felt like I was giving a harder time due to my race

Clean, & comfortable two priorities for business travelers. The only slight drawback is the highway noise, but not major so would certainly stay again.

Great room. Restaurant is closed down and there is no breakfast available. You are given a small muffin, an apple and a granola bar. The information on the web site is wrong.

I reserved this hotel because of the bar/restaraunt and they decided to close it last month. The picture of the bar is still on expedia website.

way to pricey for what you get. no restaurant or bar at this site. charged $10 for continental breakfast that Marriott properties typically include with room rate. rooms were clean, roomy and comfortable. staff was friendly and helpful when they could be found.

Room was nice, the girl at the front desk was awesome..! Initially they wanted to charge us for the breakfast… ($10 each), but the girl just let us go eat w/o charge.. every hotel I ever stayed at gave free buffet breakfast, accept this one..? Why..? If we have paid for the breakfast I would have been pissed, because it was really bad. No plates, lack of food.. lack of juice. Not good at all.

The property was very clean and up to date. All staff were polite and professional. The pool was so clean and my kids were able to enjoy it all to themselves. My only issue was the $10 for a basic continental breakfast buffet that didn’t have many options. The eggs were really watery and not appeasing to the eyes. Other than that stay was great!
