Fantastic location. Great promise but not upto it's original glory. Mix of excellent and not so polite staff. Gradual decline over the years of staying at the Embassy Suites. Room carpet not vacuumed - remnants of previous guest on floor. Smell in room likely from carpet. Shower soap attachment broken. Given Suites, could have basic cutlery and dishes but this is a lost opportunity. Evening social hour food options have steadily eroded over the years. Used to be a nice evening charcuterie' at the social hour and half, but now no more cheeses, just chips, veggies and ranch, nuts, and trail mix. The chips were fresh but they did not refill or refilled with over 20-30 mins wait and was never refilled in the 45 mins of a 75 min total social time. Drinks were good but top shelf liquor costs extra. This may be site specific, but we stay enough at Embassy Suites to have noticed these changes over the years. For this location, parking spaces are tight and do cost $20 self park for now. May choose valet for $40 pd instead. Both have in-&-out privileges, but the method of parking validation is cumbersome (get ticket, get it validated at lobby which may be a wait if crowded, for each time going in/out). Overall, will stay again because the rooms are spacious. Staff at front desk and around were friendly, always present (a plus) and helpful. But if quality or amenities for which Embassy Suites is known for continues to decline may have to consider other places.

We booked this hotel for 8/9/25 because the Neat Restaurant and Burbon Bar was supposed to be really good. It took forever to get the bartender's attention (it was not a very busy time). We had to get a waiter who was passing by to get us a food menu only to find out that it was extremely limited that day. They had 2 options for appetizers, 4 or 5 Salads to select from and under sandwiches a double bacon cheeseburger was the only option. That was it!! I took a picture of the menu because I couldn't believe it compared to the full menu on display that was by the lobby. They said they were about out of food. I had to rely on the bartender to order my drinks but she would rather be on her phone. When I asked for our drink bill and that we wanted to charge it to our room that took almost a half hour to get accomplished! (Our waiter for a food was great though, too bad he couldnt handle the drink potion since we were sitting at the bar). We stayed for our 20th anniversary and ended up ordering a pizza later that night. This was a very disappointing experience. We should've just stayed next door at the Marriott.

The first room we received had an awful mold & mildew smell. The air conditioner also wasn’t fully working and the air felt wet. Upon further inspection we found black mold above the vent by the kitchenette. There was staining on the rug throughout the room and the bathroom needed a good cleaning. We requested a new room and that room still had an odor of mildew, but it was way better than the first. Also no mold on the wall. Both rooms were very run down. Lots of stains on furniture and curtains, the fridge barely worked. The tv stand had the full front panel off and resting on the floor, and the bathroom was still pretty gross. There are no fans in the bathroom and the shower rod holder is on an upwards angle, so the curtain doesn’t close. The ice maker on our floor was broke, so we had to go to another floor for ice. The kids went swimming and the pool area had some algae, along with an overall unkept area. We opted for the stairs a bit as it was quicker to get from the lobby to outside and there was garbage on the floors. There was an abandoned dustpan and broom sitting in there most of our stay too! We loved the setup of the hotel with all the rooms facing the open atrium but overall the hotel was as a dump. We spoke to several other customers there and they commented on the poor upkeep and smell. It is very hard to believe Hilton has their name on the hotel. We would never stay here again and would never recommend the hotel to anyone.

Hotel itself was nice and convinced location. Walkable to couple restaurants, quick trip to aquarium. Nice view of the river. Pool was over chlorinated. Eyes burning, strong smell. Pull out couch was horrible. Toilet was clogged and notified desk but maintenance wasn’t available. Asked for plunger so we could handle ourself. Not sure when it was actually brought as staff just sat it outside the door without notifying us. Found as we were leaving for breakfast the next morning.

Wonderful staff, and great breakfast. Great view and lobby was clean. Absolutely awful filthy room. Door was broken to the point the kids couldn’t shut or open the door, phone was broken, ice bucket dirty and broken and coffee pot dirty. Bathroom, kitchen area both unclean and destroyed. Needed a lot of updates. Also smelled like cat pee. Overall the room was a downfall compared to the rest of the hotel. The pool was also cold and disgusting. Hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. It was gross to walk in the pool area. We were disappointed for how much we spent.

so disappointed we left a day early. in bad need of an update. dirty, stained sheets, hair in bathtub. NOT mine mine is short and gray - these were long and dark. breakfast was great - not good enough to stay longer, but they do have that going for them. inconvenient to get from street level to go up 4 floors to check in. the two individuals working the desk when we checked in were not friendly at all, not helpful as explaining breakfast reception times, location, breakfast times, etc. later we had reason to talk to other staff members who were great. I would not recommend this hotel - there are too many others around the same area. stay away!!

We have stayed at this hotel several years back and was excited to get a great price on Embassy Suites Riverfront, Covington, KY. We checked in and there were 2 front desk people. DJ kept telling the lady helping us to take the room, did you get the room? Hurry take it. My husband and I both caught what he was saying but didn’t know why. Well we got to our room and figured the why. The door to get into the room was very difficult to get into. You had to use your shoulder to open the door and to make sure it closed. The sink in the bathroom was a constant stream. We dealt with it and did not complain. We went to the reception that night at 6:00 and they were out of most snacks and what was there was very stale. Also plates and silverware were often missing from reception and breakfast. Speaking of Breakfast no plates, no bowls, no silverware and the only hot food was if you got an omelet. The poor cook doing the omelets, was all alone and it took him so long doing them one by one. I felt sorry for him. French Toast was hard, scrambled eggs were cold and sausage was floating in water. We ate and left for the day. Snacks the next night look much better, we ate dinner before so we weren’t hungry. Breakfast on Saturday was much more presentable, food was hot and very good. My husband got an omelet so we ate seperately. I went to refill our drinks and a helper came out yelling “sorry about that folks, just look away. He took the broom and swept up a cockroach off the counter. Gross

Our room was absolutely disgusting. I reached out via the Hilton app to start a claim and still don't have any response from them. There was mold, stained carpets, bed bugs, a nasty smell, and extremely overpriced.

We opted for the stairs a bit as it was quicker to get from the lobby to outside and there was garbage on the floors. There was an abandoned dustpan and broom sitting in there most of our stay too! We loved the setup of the hotel with all the rooms facing the open atrium but overall the hotel was as a dump. We spoke to several other customers there and they commented on the poor upkeep and smell. It is very hard to believe Hilton has their name on the hotel. We would never stay here again and would never recommend the hotel to anyone.

The staff I interacted with was very nice and helpful. One of the associates I spoke with even offered Hilton honors points for my inconvenience and that was sincerely appreciated. That being said, my room was clearly not cleaned prior to my stay. I saw red residue that looked like food or vomit on my ice bucket lid, there were insects in my room, there was a strong musty odor in the air instead of cleaning products, the shower water was cold, hair and oil on the seat in my room, and it was difficult finding an ice machine that wasn’t out of order. Overall, I expect more from the Hilton brand and I was extremely disappointed with my stay. I ended up just checking out and going home Sunday night instead of staying until Monday because I was so uncomfortable.

Wonderful staff, and great breakfast. Great view and lobby was clean. Absolutely awful filthy room. Door was broken to the point the kids couldn’t shut or open the door, phone was broken, ice bucket dirty and broken and coffee pot dirty. Bathroom, kitchen area both unclean and destroyed. Needed a lot of updates. Also smelled like cat pee. Overall the room was a downfall compared to the rest of the hotel. The pool was also cold and disgusting. Hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. It was gross to walk in the pool area. We were disappointed for how much we spent.

It was very loud all night, you can hear everything! The rooms were ok a little dated and very dirty! We had stains on the sheets, on the carpet and couch! The fridge never got cold, and the last straw that made us leave was the mouse we saw run across our room and hide in the sofa! Won’t ever stay here again

There was a large cockroach in the breakfast area, the hotel staff propped my door open with the deadbolt lock, the hotel room was in general disrepair, and my room was never cleaned during my stay.

When I checked the sheets, there was dried blood on the bottom corner. It seemed like they still used dirty sheets putting the soiled area towards the bottom hoping customers wouldn’t peel back the top sheets and see how dirty it was. We discovered this before we went to bed at 11pm and called to get housekeeping to change the sheets. An hour and a half later, no one came so we called again. After waiting at least an additional 30 minutes, someone came to give us a sheet (which didn’t fit) and we had to put it on ourselves.

Loved my spacious room and the gorgeous view of the Cincinnati Skyline across the River. Perfect location for me and a short walk to the Great American Ball Park to watch the Reds win an awesome game. Breakfast was fantastic and the Lobby is breathtaking.

The room itself was fine but the electronic door entry was malfunctioning. We received two key cards, went to the room and tried each card several attempts before the door unlocked. After we settled in I left the room for a minute and was unable to get either card to unlock the door. Went to the front desk where the cards were re coded but neither would work again. Went back to the desk, cards were replaced but still didn’t unlock the door without multiple tries. Went back to the desk, room maintenance accompanied me back with newly coded cards which didn’t work so he tried his master which also didn't unlock the door without multiple tries. He brought batteries to replace in the lock which seemed to work but we left later and didn’t return until after midnight. Neither of the key cards would unlock the door until after about a dozen attempts. Very frustrating

Great location, not much air conditioning. Temp in room was 79 when first got in and was the same temp when left. Maintenance said they were having a chiller problem. Sounds believable but apparently it's been going on for a year because there are reviews from a year ago mentioning the same issue/excuse. The maintenance guy did bring a box fan which made it mostly bearable. The room also had an odor that smelled like pet fresh had been dusted on the carpet. Again, I should've read the reviews but hey it's embassy suites and I've stayed in several and never had an issue.

Our room was spacious but a little rough around the edges. We only stayed one night so it was fine. Best free breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel! Sign in parking garage were very confusing on how to access hotel from elevator.

Good location and the breakfast plus manager special in the evenings really set Embassy Suites apart from the competition. However, this particular hotel needs to be fully renovated, we tried 5 different rooms and each one smelled of mold, not very healthy for any guests or cleaning crew that tends to each room.

I ended up changing rooms four times the first two rooms smelled like mildew the third room there was no hot water and the shower bar was off of the wall, our last room was much better. Brian, Cherish and Tanesha took very very good care of us those three are amazing!!! To the Owners of that hotel you all charge a lot of money for those rooms to be in the shape that they're in. Its time to up grade those rooms the Embassy Suites Brand is huge so the rooms need to match. Thanks if anyone wants to reach out to me they can I'll be more than happy to talk.

This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. My family and I arrived at hotel and checked in. We got to our room and room was hot (81 degrees). We just thought the AC was turned up so we adjusted it. About an hour later still not cool. I went to front desk to talk to them since our room phone wasn’t working. I get there and a different person then the one who checked us in said they knew rooms were hot and did I not hear them announce that AC wasn’t working and was being worked on and that the phones were out. I informed him I wasn’t told this at check in. They said they were actively working on it. We decided to go out to eat and see if when we got back it was better. We arrived back to hotel. I then spoke with another person and asked if we checked out and went to different hotel if we would be charged since we had been there for 3 hours they said we would get charged an early check out fee. He told me that they had just fixed the chiller and the rooms would be getting cooler. Long story our room never got cooler still stayed around 75-80 degrees. The room itself smell musty, had cracking in the bath tub and just was very dated. We were told that at checkout if we were uncomfortable they would issue a discount but because I booked through a third party I would have to contact them for discount. Horrible horrible experience. Would never stay there again.

Heating and cooling system did not work correctly. Room would never get below 75°. And the air conditioner made loud noise periodically throughout the entire night disrupting sleep. I informed the front desk and I’ve seen no compensation.

We booked this hotel for 8/9/25 because the Neat Restaurant and Burbon Bar was supposed to be really good. It took forever to get the bartender's attention (it was not a very busy time). We had to get a waiter who was passing by to get us a food menu only to find out that it was extremely limited that day. They had 2 options for appetizers, 4 or 5 Salads to select from and under sandwiches a double bacon cheeseburger was the only option. That was it!! I took a picture of the menu because I couldn't believe it compared to the full menu on display that was by the lobby. They said they were about out of food. I had to rely on the bartender to order my drinks but she would rather be on her phone. When I asked for our drink bill and that we wanted to charge it to our room that took almost a half hour to get accomplished! (Our waiter for a food was great though, too bad he couldnt handle the drink potion since we were sitting at the bar). We stayed for our 20th anniversary and ended up ordering a pizza later that night. This was a very disappointing experience. We should've just stayed next door at the Marriott.

The staff was amazing! I'd specifically like to recognize Brian at the front desk and the gentleman who made the omelets. Every request that I made was met with a smile and great customer service. The property can use some updates. Our carpet was ragged, and the bathroom needed caulk work. Overall, I'd stay here again and ask for an updated room.

Two disappointing things. Firsly housekeeping had to be requested which they didn't tell us when we checked in. Secondly, they refused payment in cash. I find this totally unacceptable! Cash is legal tender. What if people have no other option? It would have been a perfect stay otherwise.

We were given keys to a room with people in it. My family walked in on a lady changing.. went down stairs and the staff kind be laughed it off. Took 40 minutes to get us another room, and in that time, 2 other rooms they went to check for us also had people in it. We didn’t even get a simple “I’m sorry about the mix up” we won’t be booking here again

Arrived for check in at 4:00 PM, waited in line for 30 minutes. Once we got to front of one they said our room wasn’t ready, they said to wait 45 minutes and get back in line. We waited in lobby. We missed the free drinks do to not being checked in yet. We ended up not being able to check in and take a shower before dinner and had to wear our clothes from game to dinner. Hotel never reached out to tell us room was ready. Was finally able to check in around 11:30 PM. As confirmed by the check in staff at that time this was completely unacceptable. In my 43 years on earth I’ve never had a check in go any worse. Rooms were clean and breakfast was great!

The decor is a bit dated, and the carpets smell of cleaner, but this hotel is conveniently located if you are in town for a Bengals or Reds game. A short walk over the pedestrian bridge gives you access to two cities with scores of bars and restaurants. The full breakfasts and separate living room areas are a nice touch as well.

Our check in was awesome and very smooth. Our room was clean, but the curtains would not close all of the way and there were no sheers to close to minimize the light coming in. We tried to order room service via the number from the room, and it kept saying their mailbox was full. In the morning we asked to have a late check out, and the front desk said, “housekeeping says no”. Then they said they could allow it only until 11:30am. This is the only hotel that has ever said that to me. Most hotels allow an hour late check out as a standard. The biggest complaint was about breakfast. The breakfast associate was standing guard at the door at 9:45am. The food was cold and some of it was out. The omelet maker was absolutely EXCELLENT and made the very best omelets, so there is no complaint about that. It was that the staff had taken utensils prior to 10am and they were pretty rude about it. Then they turned off the waffle maker before 10am. They also then locked the doors and we had to have them come and let us out. Out in the lobby, the coffee was out and not replaced. With these issues, it gave us the perspective that they really were not accommodating. We always love staying at Embassy, just not this one.
Our check in was awesome and very smooth. Our room was clean, but the curtains would not close all of the way and there were no sheers to close to minimize the light coming in. We tried to order room service via the number from the room, and it kept saying their mailbox was full. In the morning we asked to have a late check out, and the front desk said, “housekeeping says no”. Then they said they could allow it only until 11:30am. We booked this hotel for 8/9/25 because the Neat Restaurant and Burbon Bar was supposed to be really good. It took forever to get the bartender's attention (it was not a very busy time). We had to get a waiter who was passing by to get us a food menu only to find out that it was extremely limited that day. They had 2 options for appetizers, 4 or 5 Salads to select from and under sandwiches a double bacon cheeseburger was the only option. That was it!! I took a picture of the menu because I couldn't believe it compared to the full menu on display that was by the lobby. They said they were about out of food. I had to rely on the bartender to order my drinks but she would rather be on her phone. When I asked for our drink bill and that we wanted to charge it to our room that took almost a half hour to get accomplished! (Our waiter for a food was great though, too bad he couldnt handle the drink potion since we were sitting at the bar). We stayed for our 20th anniversary and ended up ordering a pizza later that night. This was a very disappointing experience. We should've just stayed next door at the Marriott.

Really large, spacious rooms. Very dated building. Happy hour was great, bartender was awesome. Breakfast was OK, omelettes were great but slow. Rest of breakfast was just OK.

We travel down every year for the fireworks we love the free drinks, snacks are just chips and salsa (they could do better) The breakfast is always good! The hotel does need to start updating the rooms. My room had 2 phones and neither one worked. The new manager was great with the issues I did have!

Loved everything about this place, especially the staff and the location. It perfectly sits between the old town charm of Covington and the beautiful city of Cincinnati. The staff was really too notch, everyone was so kind and friendly. The room was spacious and there’s a reason the Embassy is known for their top of the line breakfasts, because it is!! Will definitely be returning!

The suite/room was excellent, as was the morning breakfast. The gym and pool were fair but not remarkable at all. There was no hottub. In 5 days our room never had maid service. The A/C was limited and no one came to fix it when we called. The shortest route from the parking garage to the lobby elevator included a half flight of stairs to lug our bags

The breakfast was excellent and the staff was great. My reservation was messed up, my room had broken glass in the carpet, dirty bathtub, missing toilet paper holder rod, loose toilet seat, loose bathroom cold water knob, the front door was extremely hard to close, and the first TV remote didn't work. But the room had a great view and the bed was comfortable.

Mostly good fri. Was a better night then Saturday the woman at the bar was really kinda rude. The breakfast crew was awesome. Room ok the vent in the bathroom was filthy.,and the fridge didn't have any shelves in it .
