My husband and I stayed on a quick one night stop on our way to the Oregon coast. Owner was kind, but I had to reach out to her to specifically get the code for the door. Upon getting there, the property is a little unkempt, and the stairway getting to the back door was a little tricky. There were other guests (or maybe owners?) in the living room watching television when we arrived and we immediately went to our room. The room looked clean and well kept, but our door wouldn't stay closed and locked, and we had to place a chair next to it so it wouldn't pop open. There was a window AC unit, but no matter what we tried it would only blow room temperature air. The shared bathroom was okay, although the toilet is very very low to the floor. When we got up in the morning a guest was sleeping on the couch, maybe a person from the night before? The breakfast was sparse, with cereal, bread, and

I wasnt sure what i rented until i got there and realized it was a house. I didn't have my code but they were nice about it. It is a bit confusing to find because the house was painted but you could do far worse then ending up here for the price. Nice TV but the room is small.

We worried about the safety of our car out on the street, and looking back, the advertisements didn't represent the true nature of the site. We left a night early as we didn't like the air quality or sharing the 1 bathroom.

Before you book, understand you will be staying with other tenants. The other tenants weren’t bad at all, and the shared amenities were clean. The surrounding lawn needed to be cleaned up. The owner was very responsive as well.

I arrived on a Wednesday and before i even got to the property amy the owner reached out to me and welcomed me . Gave me instructions on how to get into property… once we arrived we were very impressed felt like i was staying at my family’s home … whenever i needed anything amy was super quick to answer questions or get me what i needed …. Clean linen clean bathroom … my room was upstairs, but due to my friends disability, they were more than gracious to accommodate us with the room downstairs without us even asking they went ahead and switched us rooms, which was very amazing. We are very grateful for that. They are very friendly…. You have full access to kitchen and living area …before we checked out on friday amy blessed us with her beautiful smile and thanked for our stay .. we in return thanked her hospitality and for her, opening her home to us…when i come back to Washington i will definitely not stay at any local hotels i will be staying at amy and dales homestay.. me and Chiquita give this 2 thumbs up .. we can only imagine how beautiful it is in winter time…

Amy was a wonderful host and the check in process extremely easy. She was very quick to answer questions and tend to any needs. The house was very clean which is important to me and my room was cozy. Just note you have to share the bathroom with other guests but it wasn’t a problem at all.

They overbooked (which I don't think was their fault). The poor girl who runs the house was very nice but seems very inexperienced. There were dirty dishes with dried up food on the countertops when we arrived (10pm). There were people there that she seemed to know, smoking weed outside in the their car and then came I'm to watch TV with her. I did not feel comfortable there, so I gave my room to the other couple and left. She did not know how to process the refund to me, but we figured something out. I truly hope they figure out how to make a more hospitable experience for their guests so they can be successful with their Bed and Breakfast.

I got to the place and I was trying to find my room. Naked people having sex in “my room” rapidly left and got in the bathroom. I called the number and requested my money back. I was told that it was ok and I could send a report to Expedia. That it wasn’t the first time. They laughed at the matter instead of canceling my stay. Horrible place. Stinky, smelled really bad.

On the road, after a 14 hour day, I stayed at the Tacoma Homestay. Clean, comfortable, and most importantly, peace and quiet. I was not disturbed by other guests nor the sound of traffic. Got a great night's sleep and left early. Did not take advantage of breakfast.

Room: I stayed in the "comfort" room on the top floor. The room smelled bad and was cramped. It had a low and slanted ceiling so I couldn\'t use half the room and I am not very tall. The restroom made the bedroom feel like a penthouse suite. An average adult wouldn\'t be able to standup straight. No hand or bath towels were provided. There is a larger restroom on the first floor, which has a shower. Host: She was supposed to send me the access code to enter the house but i never received it. She didn\'t pick up my call so i asked my gf to contact her before i boarded the flight. Host texted her links to a digital lock app. The link worked on my gf\'s iphone but not on my Android. The app uses Bluetooth to unlock the door so i needed it to work on my phone. I texted the host but she didn\'t respond. She asked my gf to let her know when i reach the property so she can unlock the door. I had booked the room for 3 nights; I ended up leaving the next day morning because the host wouldn\'t respond to my messages and I still didn\'t have an access code. Worst experience and Hotels.com refused to refund me because they couldn\'t also reach the host. Never coming back to this site.

Found out at the very last minute that this property was actually not available, contacted support just for them to tell me that they could refund me(which would take 7 business days) and that was it. Absolutely atrocious treatment.

I experienced the same as a few other reviewers mentioned - I didn’t receive any check-in instructions via email and the property didn’t answer the phone or return my voicemail. Expedia was also unable to reach them. After some wasted time waiting outside, I went somewhere else. This place might be okay if booking 2 days in advance, maybe they need more time to send the check-in email but they’re not responsive at all by phone if there are any issues.

I did not realize this was an Airbnb until I got to the house and I couldn’t get in. I tried and I tried and I tried to contact the Host with no luck after having to go to the bathroom badly. I left, got in touch with Hotels.com they of course could not get a hold of the host, so two hours later I finally ended in a hotel down the road with the help of Hotels.com. The host finally got back to me (AFTER i found another place to stay) and she or he told me I was being rude because of my frustration of being stuck outside with ZERO response for hours. I recommend you not not waste your time or money unless you want to be stranded outside a unkept yard waiting on a Host that never gets back in touch with you because their phone is “out of service while at work” and then you finally have to leave, You’re told your the rude one. Full disclosure I probably was rude after sitting there for two hours and not getting a response

I paid in advance and when we got there we were told by an exceptionally rude woman that she had double booked the room and we wouldn't be able to stay there. She then lied by saying she would phone Expedia and arrange alternative accommodation, this didn't happen. I see with the more recent reviews this is becoming quite a habit for this place, it looks like it's a scale to me. Luckily Expedia were very good and refunded us very quickly.

I arrived on a Wednesday and before i even got to the property amy the owner reached out to me and welcomed me . Gave me instructions on how to get into property… once we arrived we were very impressed felt like i was staying at my family’s home … whenever i needed anything amy was super quick to answer questions or get me what i needed …. Clean linen clean bathroom … my room was upstairs, but due to my friends disability, they were more than gracious to accommodate us with the room downstairs without us even asking they went ahead and switched us rooms, which was very amazing. We are very grateful for that. They are very friendly…. You have full access to kitchen and living area …before we checked out on friday amy blessed us with her beautiful smile and thanked for our stay .. we in return thanked her hospitality and for her, opening her home to us…when i come back to Washington i will definitely not stay at any local hotels i will be staying at amy and dales homestay.. me and Chiquita give this 2 thumbs up .. we can only imagine how beautiful it is in winter time…

Amy was a wonderful host and the check in process extremely easy. She was very quick to answer questions and tend to any needs. The house was very clean which is important to me and my room was cozy. Just note you have to share the bathroom with other guests but it wasn’t a problem at all.

Our stay was great. The host is very good at communicating, tremendously accommodating & made sure we had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. I will definitely book again if I ever need to stay in Tacoma.

Loved the cozy home atmosphere! Very quiet, clean and safe. Great experience. Needs to have food actually available to eat. There was cereal but no milk, coffee but no cream, no protein items. Needs milk, eggs, coffee, coffee creamer, cold ceral, bagles, almond butter (because peanut is a bog allergy), orange juice and bananas available as just a basic breakfast.

The homeowners are absolute beauties! Super hospitable and kind. The homestay is clean, smells good, and is really nicely decorated. My room was clean and tidy, the sheets smelt like fresh laundry and the bed was super comfy. Good walking distance from a lot of cute shops, pub/restaurants, and fast food. I came for a show in seattle and there was adequate transit to get to and from the show. I would highly recommend this place if you need somewhere to stay in Tacoma. For the price and the experience its definitely worth it!

I wasnt sure what i rented until i got there and realized it was a house. I didn't have my code but they were nice about it. It is a bit confusing to find because the house was painted but you could do far worse then ending up here for the price. Nice TV but the room is small.

On the road, after a 14 hour day, I stayed at the Tacoma Homestay. Clean, comfortable, and most importantly, peace and quiet. I was not disturbed by other guests nor the sound of traffic. Got a great night's sleep and left early. Did not take advantage of breakfast.

We worried about the safety of our car out on the street, and looking back, the advertisements didn't represent the true nature of the site. We left a night early as we didn't like the air quality or sharing the 1 bathroom.

My husband and I stayed on a quick one night stop on our way to the Oregon coast. Owner was kind, but I had to reach out to her to specifically get the code for the door. Upon getting there, the property is a little unkempt, and the stairway getting to the back door was a little tricky. There were other guests (or maybe owners?) in the living room watching television when we arrived and we immediately went to our room. The room looked clean and well kept, but our door wouldn't stay closed and locked, and we had to place a chair next to it so it wouldn't pop open. There was a window AC unit, but no matter what we tried it would only blow room temperature air. The shared bathroom was okay, although the toilet is very very low to the floor. Property owners was nice to begin with, was having sex above room. When I contacted them at 230am they read the message but did not respond. Around 7am they was moving again slamming doors as they left the house. breakfast food was expired and moldy beyond belief. When I approached her about the situations her got aggressive and defensive. Never again will I do a home stay! Thought it’d be fun and something new and turned out to be a nightmare! If I could post pics I would!!!! It was terrible

Listen to the “too good to be true” voice in your head. As of this writing, I’m the second review, and in both cases, our reservations were cancelled without notice. I got a five word in-app text AFTER checkin time when I was already en route, no explanation, no apology. Maybe the owner is struggling with their booking system across platforms, but either way, I won’t chance it again. The host was super rude and took no accountability when I expressed frustration.

Room: I stayed in the "comfort" room on the top floor. The room smelled bad and was cramped. It had a low and slanted ceiling so I couldn\'t use half the room and I am not very tall. The restroom made the bedroom feel like a penthouse suite. An average adult wouldn\'t be able to standup straight. No hand or bath towels were provided. There is a larger restroom on the first floor, which has a shower. Host: She was supposed to send me the access code to enter the house but i never received it. She didn\'t pick up my call so i asked my gf to contact her before i boarded the flight. Host texted her links to a digital lock app. The link worked on my gf\'s iphone but not on my Android. The app uses Bluetooth to unlock the door so i needed it to work on my phone. I texted the host but she didn\'t respond. She asked my gf to let her know when i reach the property so she can unlock the door. I had booked the room for 3 nights; I ended up leaving the next day morning because the host wouldn\'t respond to my messages and I still didn\'t have an access code.
