The room itself was spotless and had excellent tiles and flooring - all in good condition. The outside of the hotel is in need of repair, especially the office area. There were building permits, so it is hoped that their remodeling is to be done soon.

Looks like a recent remodel. Appearance from the street didn't look to inviting, grounds need work. Room however was well equipped and clean. House cleaning staff was very friendly and accommodating. Parking is a bit tight. Appears that there is no on site manger but wasn't an issue for us. Good value for the price.

While the rooms were clean, they were VERY basic and certainly not updated. The exterior of the motel was not very inviting either. Tiny parking lot with overgrown weeds. We needed two inexpensive rooms for 1 night. What we got was CHEAP rooms. Glad we weren't staying any longer.

This place was excellent, very clean throughout with all the basics bed, bathroom, seating, table, fridge, micro and coffee making fully functional. This is not fine dining, more like a favourite diner and priced accordingly. I arrived late, and after snowfall to a warm room with the parking and doorway cleared.

got there they have a keypad, pressed numbers and whole device fell on the ground. Used the key behind it. No person managing property. Weeds growing so high had to kick away to get out of our car. paint peeling in total disrepair. Been to motels alt the way to Alabama, Texas, this has to rate one of the worst. Sorry Click Clacks should not count as beds.

Rooms are great, outside is a bit run down. Parking is very tight.. But love the convenience of checking in and it is close to Itasca state park and other cute towns. I would stay here again.

Honestly, I could not ask for a better experience at a small inn in a small town. Not sure why others are not picking. We were very happy with the whole experience. It was off the main road. Easy to get to, very easy parking, the keys are easy to get after getting your contact email. There's loads of places to shop and eat within a 10 minute walk. The room was clean. The shower was hot. The bed was comfortable. The TV has all the channels you want. The wifi is fast. The bathroom towels were comfy. We would come back.

Room was dirty, stained and dirty carpet. Bed was very squeaky, used soap bar in shower, yet no toiletries provided. TV not set-up or connected to wifi. The shower pressure was great and check in with staff was easy and friendly. Probably will not stay again.

Shopping and dining options close by. While the room initially looked clean, the flooring was very dirty. Our white socks were black on the bottom. The people in room next door were very noisy. No staff on site. No reception desk. The day we were leaving, the water in the tub and sink was cold. The bathtub was filthy.

This room was dirty and busted. The door was filthy, the blinds were broken, there were nondescript stains on the shower curtain, torn screens on the window. We called on the second day of our stay and reported a broken TV and a need for toilet paper. I was told they would call TV service and call me back and that someone would come with toilet paper within the hour. Never heard from them again. We booked a deluxe double because it advertised a desk that I needed to do some work and there was no desk. I would never stay here again.

It's a clean and in a location central to much of the towns commercial/retail. Very simple with a great bed. Small with very little noise dampening between rooms. Weird eye level window outside bathroom, with no shade or curtains???

We stayed here for a week recently for a family trip. It is a basic no frills motel that has a vintage appeal to it. We were without WiFi for a few days however but that was due to a storm that came through. I would have liked to have my linens changed more frequently than they were, but I suppose that is my only real gripe.

We enjoyed our stay at the Rustic Inn. The room was spacious and felt like a cabin in the woods. The bed was very comfortable, and we had enough blankets and pillows. The shower was a great size and always had hot water, and they had included dispensers with soap, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower. They had a tv that we could login to our own streaming services so we had what we wanted on tv in the evenings. There was a small wardrobe with hangers, and a separate coal hanging area, which was great for winter coats. There were plenty of lighting options. There was a microwave and fridge, a coffee machine, and a table with two chairs. The only con we had for our stay was that the coffee machine in our room was very dirty and we didn’t feel comfortable using it. There’s a gas station half a block a way, but it was an extra effort in the mornings. The lockbox holding the key was tricky to open the first time, but we were able to pull the box out with a small tool. We would definitely stay here again!

Before checking in, I received a text that my motel door would be open with a key inside. This concerned me because what if someone else got inside the room in the meantime? When I arrived at the room, it was tough to lock my door. The door did not line up with the door frame very well. I sent a text to the motel to let them know this, but there was no response. In addition, the room was freezing the entire night. The heater did not seem to work well. And, my room was situated near a main road, so I could hear traffic most of the night while I was trying to sleep. The room was clean and affordable enough, but work needs to be done to ensure guest safety and comfort.

The sign saying check in phone # had no lighting to indicate its location. I walked around the bldg twice. The room was clean, good bed, good temperature, however the walls so thin and light coming thru the locked adjouning door. The neighbors sexual acts sounded like rape when she kept yelling stop, it hurts. Seriously. The price was right but after a 13 hour drive sleep would have been nice. We left at 5:40 am.

Easy booking, no onsite check in, they text you code for lock box which is super convenient. Looks like a cowboy motel, not great looking on outside, and parking is a bit tight, but the location and cleanliness and comfort was great. Excellent mattress and tons of very hot water and great water pressure. Fluffy towels! Great value.

Given a different room than I reserved at first and told they were booked, so there was nothing else available. Thankfully someone didn’t show up, so I was able to get a different room. The person I talked with on the phone was nice. The room we stayed in had multiple lightbulbs out. One outlet that didn’t work and was sticking out of the wall. One front window was missing a lock latch. The smoke detector had no battery and was inoperable. The toilet seat isn’t secured to the toilet. Exhaust fan in the bathroom doesn’t work. Not even the “upgraded” room was worth the price I paid for something smaller, in my opinion. I didn’t have very high expectations, but pretty minimal maintenance and safety items were definitely lacking.

It was what we expected. We like a small place where we can park right by our door. We ride bikes and it is only a few blocks to the Heartland Trailhead. There were a few things missing in the bathroom like the TP and towel holders but they are minor. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.

The room itself was okay at best. There were exposed wires from popped out outlets, black gunk buildup, and the window by the sink had no curtain, so somebody outside could see everything in the room at all times. Customer service was bad, I called ahead of time to ask about checking in an hour early as I was coming for a wedding and she said yes. So I came in the day of my reservation from several hours away and when I got there I called and she said that they wouldn’t have a room for me until regular check in time, so we had to get ready in a gas station bathroom. Extremely unprofessional and the lady had an attitude with me instead of being properly accommodating.

So I came in the day of my reservation from several hours away and when I got there I called and she said that they wouldn’t have a room for me until regular check in time, so we had to get ready in a gas station bathroom. Extremely unprofessional and the lady had an attitude with me instead of being properly accommodating.

Very Clean. Did not receive information on how to check in until I called to ask. Was supposed to get an email with information so it was stressful not knowing if I would be able to reach someone. Also no information in room related to TV, heating/cooling or checkout. Parking was confusing and could have been a problem if there were more rooms rented. The room was clean and very adequate for the price. My concerns are basically related to communication

It's a clean and in a location central to much of the towns commercial/retail. Very simple with a great bed. Small with very little noise dampening between rooms. Weird eye level window outside bathroom, with no shade or curtains???

Easy booking, no onsite check in, they text you code for lock box which is super convenient. Looks like a cowboy motel, not great looking on outside, and parking is a bit tight, but the location and cleanliness and comfort was great. Excellent mattress and tons of very hot water and great water pressure. Fluffy towels! Great value.

Simple, clean rooms. Pleasantly surprised by the clean, updated bathroom! Dorm fridge and microwave. Walking distance from multiple shops and restaurants. Good for shorter stays.

Honestly, I could not ask for a better experience at a small inn in a small town. Not sure why others are not picking. We were very happy with the whole experience. It was off the main road. Easy to get to, very easy parking, the keys are easy to get after getting your contact email. There's loads of places to shop and eat within a 10 minute walk. The room was clean. The shower was hot. The bed was comfortable. The TV has all the channels you want. The wifi is fast. The bathroom towels were comfy. We would come back.

If you are looking for a nostalgic, comfortable, updated and safe place you need to try the Rustic Inn! We loved the fact we had a little living room area to relax in. When we requested items, they were responded to quickly. The Inn in easily in walking distance to downtown restaurants.

It was what we expected. We like a small place where we can park right by our door. We ride bikes and it is only a few blocks to the Heartland Trailhead. There were a few things missing in the bathroom like the TP and towel holders but they are minor. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.

Conveniently located on the main road through town. Shops, restaurants, convenience stores within a few minute walk or drive. Reasonably priced - fit my needs well. Will likely stay there again, if the opportunity arises.

The Rustic Inn appeared to be unmainained and pretty run down. My recommendation: there are other Park Rapids lodging options that would be much better.

I arrived early to the motel having let them know I’d be coming at noon, but was unable to get an early check-in because the codes are pre-programmed for 3 o’clock check-in only and no one on site has the ability to override. There was no mirror in the room, which made it hard to get ready for an event we were headed to. Air-conditioning would only run for about 60 minutes at a time and then we had to stop it and start it in the middle of the night. There were not outlets on both sides of the bed and only a table on one side. The mattress had some sort of heavy plastic covering on it, which made it very uncomfortable in the middle of the night as the body temperature grew.. the toilet looked like it was designed for a toddler not a full-size adult. All in all it looked like a Handyman, who shopped at the clearance section at Menards, put together the hardware and design of the room.. I definitely recommend looking for something else if you’re staying in Park Rapids

Room smelled like smoke even though it was non-smoking and there were no mirrors in the room to get ready in the morning. Owner was responsive, but they had no other rooms to move us to.
