I liked the location of the property and the bed but that was it. The pool was filthy (algae, dirty water), the tv didnt work, meaning it turned on but we couldn't access any channels whatsoever. We had to watch "TV" on our phone. I called the front desk numerous times but no one ever answered. The shower curtain didn't close all the way on both ends so the shower floor was getting soaked. You stepped out into water puddles. Parking is very limited.

Parking was easy and free, although the parking lot needs to be repaved. Free parking in that neighborhood is pretty remarkable so I was really happy. The room was clean and functional. The A/C kicked in quickly and cooled the room down very fast. Free breakfast was good, a little carb heavy, but for the price of the room, excellent value. The outside of the motel has been recently repainted, but the walkways are dirty and rundown, which affects the look of the place. The staff is quiet until you are friendly, then they are very friendly . Unfortunately, our TV didn't work, although someone did try to fix it. Also, the ice maker did not work. I loved not needing to pay for parking at the Moody Center since it was only a 15 minute walk. Excellent value. I will stay there again next time I go to the Moody Center.

Pool was out of order and no notification received. The rooms were not great. Shower curtain did not close properly and room in general disrepair. The only redeeming feature of our stay was the location, it was a short walk to downtown bars and tourist attractionns.

I mean, this is not a "nice" hotel. It's a real throwback to motels typical in the 70s, doesn't look like it's been updated since then. The room was kinda smelly, bed not very comfortable and a few things (pool, ice-maker) did not work. However, location is excellent if you want to be near downtown, the capitol and 6th st nightlife. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was super basic (waffle-maker, cereal, yogurt and coffee) but free. Parking also free, which is rare in Austin hotels - most charge $30-40 per nights. Place is about half the price of hotels in the area so if you're looking for a place to explore Austin a weekend or something and don't plan on spending much time in your room, it's a GREAT option.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! Left with bad bedbugs bites all over my body and backache due to the old mattress condition. Couple of their clean towels had pubic hairs in it, so disgusting. And the smell of the room was a mix of cigarettes and paint.

After we checked into our room, we found two live Ticks on our beds. I killed them and brought them to the front desk and asked for a refund. The front desk clerk said I would receive a refund and the manager would call me, the following day. The manager never called and we never received a refund.

We booked this hotel through Expedia but when we arrived at the hotel, it looked nothing like the advertised pictures. The area was horrible and under construction. There were lights hanging out of the ceilings and walls by wires, we had stains on our beds, pillows, and the bedding. When we looked at the covers, there was hair (not from ourselves) all over the sheets. The staff was very friendly and helpful but this is one hotel we will NEVER book again!

There was mold/biogrowth throughout the unit. The light shield of the lamp had mold on the back. The restroom has it throughout. Also the door lock was very loose. The pool dirty. Front desk customer service not to par. Housekeeping was very nice.

The good: • Water pressure was decent • the bathroom sink faucet was normal, not one of those annoying “fine mist spray” styles • The towels are better than the normal hankie-sized non-absorbent type we find in many motels - not overly luxurious but pretty good • the Bed was fine • Decent sized TV (though whoever the provider is, they could use an updated user interface) The not so good: • The facility seems to have been crammed into an odd corner; certainly an unorthodox parking lot and access/egress but that of course cannot be changed at this point. • Not sure about the immediate area - looks sketchy but I could be wrong. • More directly, it seems maintenance might be an issue - as in: • walking into room, the single ceiling light’s bulbs were dead (the wall lamps between the beds were fine, and they replaced the bulbs immediately) • shower - a 3+” L-shaped crack in the floor of the (one piece fiberglass style) tub • shower - the shower plunger works, but still allows plenty of water to spray out of the faucet rather than diverting all the water to the head • shower - drain was a bit slow, but did finally empty the tub • hair dryer switch completely inoperable, which explained why it was left unplugged (as plugging it in was the only way to turn it on)

Great location for accessing downtown, UT, and East Austin and is walkable to all those places. The noise from I-35 was so loud, my window faced the highway and did not block the noise at all. The outside of the hotel looks very bad but inside my room was clean and comfortable, so overall it was a pretty good value.

Check in people were nice Got there early and they were willing to hold our bags for a couple hours until our room was ready location is outstanding to downtown, the university and places we had to be east of the interstate. walked everywhere with no problem would have been nice to have a couple more towels since there was no service between days we stayed. breakfast was convenient but we passed as it was not to our liking. door to the room had gaps and road noise was very loud. internet cut out every 5-10 minutes for 2-3 minutes which made working a bit of a problem. Asked the desk for help with it and they had no solutions. tv controller didn't really control the menu on the tv so we had to scroll through all the channels to see what was on

Pretty mid motel. Our room was small. There were several non-crucial but ugly maintenance issues. A hole in the drywall, loose fixtures on the wall-mounted lamps, broken lampshade, bent shower curtain rod that had obviously fallen and been repaired in a hurry. Dim bathroom. Bad breakfast. But clean, as far as I could see, and comfortable enough to sleep, which is the important thing with a motel.

The front desk staff was really helpful, i do not recall his name, but his last name was also Gutierrez. He informed me of all the current activities occuring in the area and gave me suggestions on where to dine when i asked about a particulular cuisine

Please STOP rejecting my review. I'm complying with the criteria or call me to discuss. We decided to cancel our reservation because the GM was upset because Expedia/Orbitz allowed us to select to pay at the hotel upon arrival, but the GM wanted payment in advance. He didn’t let me talk and would not have it any other way. He claimed that Expedia was not being truthful in their advertising. We’re glad we canceled and just went to another hotel for our 5 day stay.

This Hotel overall is below average. I stayed there for 4 nights, and they didn't give fresh towels or make up the room until the 3 day, and after asking them to do it twice. Two of the nights there were loud parties going on after 2 am.

I couldn’t pass up this stay for the price and positive reviews. The exterior looks a bit shabby, but the staff are very helpful and kind. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable.

When we wanted to check in, no one was in the office; it was a fairly long wait. When we wanted additional towels around 9pm, the office was closed for the night. We later got the towels, but there is only one person running the hotel, and with all good will, he is spread to thin. The outdoor pool was dirty, not only leaves but also trash floating in it. The room was clean, but the toilet seat was loose. As a cheap hotel for one night, it is ok, it is in 15 min walking distance to the capitol, it has parking and it is cheap, but I think next time I would invest the money for a better hotel.

Great location for accessing downtown, UT, and East Austin and is walkable to all those places. The noise from I-35 was so loud, my window faced the highway and did not block the noise at all. The outside of the hotel looks very bad but inside my room was clean and comfortable, so overall it was a pretty good value.

Very convenient location to DT Austin and tourist attractions w/o the high price. Short walk to Franklin Bbq. Location may seem sketchy due to graffiti and residential area that isn’t considered high end, but it’s an affordable option to other DT Austin high lodging prices.

Very clean room and parking lot. It is in downtown Austin and we had a view of the state capital building. Breakfast is served until 10 and check out was at 11. We were only an exit from the Moody Center, which was perfect for the concert!

This place is very meh - a cheap motel, not terrible, but nothing special. Very basic, amenities workable but in poor condition, stained curtains etc. you get the picture. Pictures appear to be old or 'enhanced'. Was fine for a brief stay but would not stay again. Nb, if planning to walk to downtown from here, the motel is on the other side of the i35, an extremely busy multi-lane freeway with often non-functional pedestrian lights.

Traffic noise wasn't nice and it was tatty, however, we were moved to a different room when the window wouldn't shut and our second room was much better. Breakfast was good but they kept running out of items.

Don't judge a book by its cover, or the downtown Austin Super 8 by its exterior. Paint is faded and the property doesn't look great, but my one-queen bed room was clean and in decent condition. If you're a no-frills person like me who just needs a place to sleep, you'll find Super 8 perfectly suitable. Breakfast wasn't much to write home about. There was an ice bowl where yogurt had been, but by the time I arrived at 8:15 (breakfast from 6-9), it was empty and didn't get refilled. Other options were carbs (Texas waffles, toast, cereal, mini muffins, oatmeal packets) and a few apples, and one too-green banana. That said, breakfast was included, and it filled me up until I got home a few hours later, so I can't complain. At $90, it was a great price for easy driving access to downtown. I would stay here again.

Check in people were nice Got there early and they were willing to hold our bags for a couple hours until our room was ready location is outstanding to downtown, the university and places we had to be east of the interstate. walked everywhere with no problem would have been nice to have a couple more towels since there was no service between days we stayed. breakfast was convenient but we passed as it was not to our liking. door to the room had gaps and road noise was very loud. internet cut out every 5-10 minutes for 2-3 minutes which made working a bit of a problem. Asked the desk for help with it and they had no solutions. tv controller didn't really control the menu on the tv so we had to scroll through all the channels to see what was on

Really good breakfast options (waffles, cereal, apples, etc). Coffee was also good. Front desk staff were friendly. Ice machine was out of order (oh well) and the wi-fi connection varied in strength from hour to hour. But for the price I paid, it was a really good deal.

They advertise "breakfast included"; this should be changed to "continental breakfast" (as it is extremely limited to just waffle machine, cereal, coffee and juice). Pros: Excellent location: Walking (15 min) distance to the Austin Convention Center. Walking (10 min) distance to big-box and grocery stores. Other thoughts: In essence this is just a middle-of-nowhere Motel 8 that has been transplanted into the center of a big city. The agency that did their photoshoot should be nominated for Oscars in the Best Picture category. The reality is way more "spartan".

The room was kinda smelly, bed not very comfortable and a few things (pool, ice-maker) did not work. However, location is excellent if you want to be near downtown, the capitol and 6th st nightlife. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was super basic (waffle-maker, cereal, yogurt and coffee) but free. Parking also free, which is rare in Austin hotels - most charge $30-40 per nights. Place is about half the price of hotels in the area so if you're looking for a place to explore Austin a weekend or something and don't plan on spending much time in your room, it's a GREAT option.

the beds were comfortable - however the lamps were missing bulbs in both of our rooms - breakfast was bare minimum at best - definitely could be updated, but it served the purpose we needed.

The room was clean but the curtains were half off the rod at the top the door that covered the refrigerator was broken the commode where you flush it did not work at all my son had to fix it when we could at least flush the toilet outside was not very clean at all and people were talking out in the parking lot loud all night sounded like they were drinking the beds were hard as rocks would not go back.
