GrandStay Residential Suites Rapid City

Exercise room was closed for renovation and one of the dryers was out of order. Except for that the facilities were great. Location was central to all attractions around Rapid City. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this facility.

Good, but the condition of microwave was not good, and no glass plate in there. they must not have checked it when room cleaned. Have dishwasher, pots and pans, but no silverware or dishes? Heater out on the pool, would have been more enjoyable.

Unfortunately this property was being remodeled while we were there. Dishes were missing from kitchenette. The dishwasher didn’t work properly and left a puddle on the floor. There was construction dust yet on the windowsill. On the upside the staff was very friendly and helpful in acquiring items missing in our room such as dishes and dining chairs. The pool was average for a hotel and the hot tub was a nice bonus. I hope these issues will be resolved when construction is completed. Hotel was nice enough for the price that I’d give it another try if we stay in the area again.

Room was clean and spacious. Carpet was worn, but clean. Disappointed hot tub and pool were not functioning.

There was some remodeling going on that made the hotel dusty in the entrance and first floor hall areas. Also the elevator was down for a while to lay new flooring. Overall it was not a bad hotel and the stay was tolerable. The female front desk staff was very helpful. Breakfast was a 2.5 out of 5.

Hot tub was drained upon arrival. We don’t recall being notified that this wouldn’t be available.

This property is in a quiet area, easy to get to things. There was plenty of parking and the staff was so friendly and kind. Loved having a kitchenette in our room. The only real downfall is the pool area is tiny. It worked but it was crowded with about 10 kids. Would definitely consider staying here again.

We stayed on 2 different occasions because the location was convenient and the free airport shuttle was a plus. The property needs to be refreshed. The picture online is true, but it doesn't show the parking lot or grounds. The first night we were in a handicap room and it is basically clean, but plenty of small things that were missed. The second stay was in a typical room and there was black mold above the shower on the ceiling. The free Breakfast is average, but met our needs. For the price paid, I believe we could have done better in a different part of the city.

Very nice hotel, nice pool a nice hot tub and a good breakfast

We booked this hotel for 6 nights. Paid a pretty penny for what we thought would be a nice, clean, quiet suite. After arriving to our suite, we started unpacking and looking around our room. Half of the items that were advertised to be in the room, were not. The microwave was missing. The dishwasher was broken. No silver ware was available in the kitchen. We didn’t even have a garbage can. After about 30 min of walking around the room, unpacking, I sat down and noticed the bottoms of my feet were black. The hardwood floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped in weeks. I placed a maintenance request with the front desk, listing the missing items, cleanliness, etc. The next day, nothing had been corrected yet. My husband flagged down an employee in the hallway that evening, and by the next morning, we had a microwave and silverware. Both were filthy and I had to hand wash everything. This hotel only offers housekeeping if your request it. Otherwise, they stated to place dirty towels outside your sore, and fresh ones would be left in a basket outside of your door. We did this, left for the day, and when we returned, the dirty towels were gone, but no clean ones left in their place. The following morning, I stopped at the front desk to request housekeeping service. We left again for the day, and when we returned to the room, all they had done was make the beds. Counters still filthy. Floors still filthy. And still NO Towels.

The lobby and front desk area were clean. Our room had not been vacuumed, the dishes were still in the dishwasher (they were clean as they were still warm). Then when using the fold out sofa, we found garbage and an old sick. It almost felt like we were given a room that was unfinished, but the beds were neatly made and linens were stocked. I think they are just short staffed as the same person who was taking care of breakfast was also working the front desk and she was busy with check outs. The breakfast was out of many items. The need for staff is probably the reason for some of the uncleanliness as the detailed cleaning slips through the cracks. The pool is small and cold but kids didn’t mind. The hottub had green buildup around it and was kind of gross, which was a bummer because it was one of the reasons we picked this spot. The kids enjoyed the basketball court in the back and the plush green yard to roam around after a long car ride. The beds were very comfortable. It wasn’t bad but I probably would not stay there again.

Dirty. Mold growing in and around shower head. Dead flies in the window. Filthy floors. Not even trying.

The rooms were disgusting dirty all 3 rooms the floors have never been cleaned!! Plus several couples sat in the lobby waiting for over an hour for the front desk clerk to check in but no staff to be found so they came out to see if we knew where they were or what to do we tried helping the people but our hands were tied because no one could find the front desk clerk then he all of a sudden shows up to figure out they over booked so these poor people who had been waiting way over an hour did not have a room then later that evening we realized the guy with female in back parking lot where dumpster is located he had been back there working on a vehicle his hers who knows I know one thing he wasn’t at the front desk checking in customers. The coffee area was always a mess no creamers stocked garbage can overflowing just very dirty area the whole place was dirty then they leave an envelope to have you tip your housekeeper which never once entered our room we stayed 3 nights 4 days what a joke!! The outside is very deceiving!! So our the pictures online so be prepared if you stay there the bottom of your feet from your room will be dirty it’s disgusting!!

Towels were like sandpaper, Trash still in the trash cans when we checked in. The lights from outside made the room almost like daylight with the curtains drawn

The room was dirty. Refrigerator, microwave and shower hadn't been cleaned. Shampoo and body wash containers were empty.

CHECK YOUR BED. In our bed there was pubic hair, lipstick, and other stains, with smearing all over the head of the bed. Filling up the bathtub for my little girls I also found pubic hair floating around and in the corners of the bathroom. When my wife went to the front desk she was handed a new sheet and that was it. No other assistance. We were highly disappointed and only stayed because the foldout bed was brand new, but we used our own bedding from our camping trip. I emailed the hotel, trying to remedy the situation, with no response. I would not recommend.

When we entered our hotel the first thing we noticed was old scratched lottery tickets under the end table in the living room, meaning cleaning wasn’t well done. Then the dishwasher still had filthy dishes in it, and when we pulled the sofa bed out the first night there was dirty plastic cups under it. There was a cockroach in the bathroom next to the bathtub as well. Next issue was finding drunk people past out sleeping in the stairwells having to be removed by law enforcement. This location is within a close proximity to a housing project with many transient people who find their way into the warmth of the hotel. There was fighting down the hall in a room, we complained of constant loud stomping all throughout the night, and then a large dog who was in the room next to us that barked and howled all night. This was NOT worth what we paid and will never stay there again!

I checked in for a 2 night stay, when I went to use the bathroom I could easily see that someone had done a number 2 before I checked in and the toilet had not been cleaned. At ALL. The floor was also dirty, hair was all over it and the back of the toilet. Underneath the sink I could see what looked like a patch of blood. I went straight to the front desk and asked for someone to come and clean the bathroom right away. Which they did. I had to leave for the evening, when I returned that night and pulled back the covers to get into bed, I could tell the sheets hadn’t been cleaned either. There was a spot of blood on one of the pillowcases, and hair all over the sheets too. Went straight to the desk, asked for clean sheets, which I was given, but told they were out of comforters. Thankfully I had a blanket and my own pillow in my car, and a clean pillowcase in my luggage. The lady at the desk was nice, she profusely apologized, said they had had other complaints and were blaming new cleaning staff. Apparently the staff weren’t cleaning at all, that’s my assessment. I was told she was giving all the information to the manager and they would do their best to give me a discount or a refund. When I checked out, I was not given either. Still have the full charge for the room on my credit card. I will never stay here again. I would have asked for a different room or checked into another hotel, but Rapid City was busy. I’m so disgusted by the state of that room and no refund.

Everything was so clean!

Good sized room and great amenities. The furniture could be updated though as it was not most comfortable.

Thin walls. Not enough blankets. Terrible light in bathroom and no fan or sink stopper. Toilet broken. Odor in room. Pool noise. No housekeeping. No closet to hang clothes.

Great location. The beds are amazing and the added kitchenette is wonderful with the standard fridge.

Very nice hotel in quiet area. Beds were awesome and nice option if a bedroom suite. Breakfast was nice, laundry facility helpful. Very nice desk staff. Efficient and comfortable stay.

Loud people above us! No respect for people who were staying below.

Clean, modern, spacious double suit reaonably price. Hotel very convenient to highway and attractions without road noise. Only drawback was loud sound when shower in use in adjoining room.

So nice to have two bedrooms and a kitchen with a full sized refrigerator. Very friendly staff.

Furniture was over worn and needs replacement

The room didn’t have a vent in the bathroom. There was cracked and chipped area at the base of the bathtub. There were repairs needed on the bathroom door but altered to be only painted over. There was no needing for the pullout and when we went to the desk to ask for some the guy wasn’t very polite and there were no pillows available. The breakfast was not very good. Limited choices and low quality food. My daughter was stung by a wasp (may be living in the ground near the handicapped stall). The room was clean as was the dining area and entry. The bed was comfortable. The basketball hoop and grill were right outside of our room so basketball late at night kept us up. It was close to many restaurants

Overall it was a great experience, all the employees (except for one), were courteous, friendly and very helpful

Room was not ready at check in time. Multiple people were wanting.

When we got to the property, reception said they did not have a room for us and we had to go somewhere else. I believe they were short staffed as reception couldn't leave the front desk.

It took 45 minutes to get checked in because the internet was down and when we finally got checked in the room they gave us hadn’t been cleaned and it took another 30 minutes to get into another room.

Kyle went the extra mile for us. Especially when he knew that we would arriving late he had everything ready for us and just handed me the key card.

Enjoyed the free breakfast. The kitchen was very handy to have. Definitely a positive when you’re trying to not eat out every night. Staff was friendly. The only negative is that they are somewhat short staffed. That made it difficult to get your room cleaned and restocked.

Six , the asst manager was very kind and helpful and friendly on check in.

We had an ok stay here. The front desk was good. They let me request a 3rd floor room which was awesome. But the breakfast was subpar. I known its free but they were routinely out of things (coffee, plates, forks, some food). It was also below average food, even for hotel breakfast. You could kind of tell this in the pics so maybe thats on us, but the pool is tiny. So small that you wouldnt reallyvwant to be in there with more than 1 family. The hot tub was also very dirty. With so many other options in Rapid City i would choose elsewhere next time

I felt like they were working with a skeleton staff

I prepaid for my room and then the hotel recharged my card. Hotel was refusing to issue credit since it was a “non refundable” reservation. Even after showing the double charge they kept saying it was non refundable. After a couple of messages with customer service here they were able to get the hotel to issue credit. The room was great and I thought I had found a good place to stay in Rapid but after getting the run around from the hotel staff I will not be using again.

The Rapid City Grandstay has easy access to all the Mount Rushmore adventures. The location is quiet. We would stay here again if we have the opportunity.

Spacious, quiet, clean and great location. If you are looking for 60" TV's and leather sofa's with a made to order breakfast this ISN'T for you. If you want great value for time away this is perfect. Many good options for breakfast, warm inviting entrance and quiet location made for a great stay.

Modern property close to the Interstate. Clean and comfortable but well away from the city center.

Bed was super comfortable and shower was amazing. No housekeeping for entire time we were there. Garbages were overflowing everywhere including breakfast area. Had to request towels and toilet paper twice before receiving. Breakfast food was not restocked so hot items were almost empty/empty.

Breakfast could have been better. Went to breakfast towards the end of the allotted time and they were out of many items.

The hotel was great! Check in was amazing and prompt! Breakfast was rough. No mik, no coffee, and variety was lacking.

Breakfast service was poorly managed. Almost all options were empty by 8:30. NO hot options. NO pastry. NO coffee - NONE. Nothing was refreshed. Staff short? Supply shortages?

Intruder opened door unannounced and said she had been assigned our room by the front desk, then quickly withdrew. Next morning, after breakfast, we could not re-enter our room because keys didn’t work. Wasted 15 minutes getting that fixed. Then bathtub drain would not stay open, so had to hold it open manually for 5 minutes. No butter at breakfast.

Great pool and hot tub area. Breakfast had all the typical offerings, nothing spectacular. Staff were very friendly. Loved our suite, perfect for our family of 6. The room was super clean, very comfortable, and well laid out. If I return to Rapid City I would definitely stay here again.

The breakfast that is made available for guests could be warmer. The eggs and sausage were cold, biscuits and gravy(gravy was more of a cold paste).

We stay here every time we are in Rapid City. We love this hotel! The staff is always kind and friendly, and the rooms are clean! Breakfast is average… No better or worse than any other Continental at any other hotel. The beds are a tad on the firm side, otherwise they’re pretty comfy. The pool is a bit small but my kids had a wonderful time!
