In room coffee was decaf only and large coffee urn in the lobby was empty by 7:30 and staff never replenished it. Only one of the three exercise machines in the fitness room worked and to top off the experience an employee opened the door to my room early on my departure date after a late night where I was trying to sleep in following a late night. As Walter Sobchak would say, "Amateurs dude."

I remember coming to this hotel a few years back, and the stay was good; the pool was clean. But this time, the stay was not so great. The bath walls had mold, the pool area was dirty, and let me not get started on the color and cleanliness of the pool. It was really disturbing seeing how dirty the pool was, with clumps of white stuff floating in it and oils floating on the surface. Mind you, it was not cleaned at all; the water was cloudy to the point that if you dived in, you would disappear. I am very upset of the money i waisted for 3 nights i couldn't even enjoy a swim.

The entrance lobby was bright and welcoming, and the young lady on reception (8/4/25) was pleasant and welcoming. The room was nice and clean although walls are paper thin and air con is quite loud but the swimming pool needs some attention. The sign says shower before entering, but the shower didn't work. The paint is flaking off the pool, and the cloudy water didn't make for a great experience. Overall, a pleasant stay, however, the thing that spoiled it was, despite being a no smoking hotel, the stench of weed in the hotel corridors and particularly from one room. We mentioned this on check out and were told that although it's a no smoking hotel, sometimes guests break the rules. Shocked by the response and the fact that staff seemed neither surprised, concerned, or willing to deal with the issue. Perhaps the occupant was a long-term hotel resident, but they are spoiling your other good hotel.

The carpet through the hotel was filthy. Our carpet smelled bad. The beds and bathroom were clean and comfortable. My feet got dirty when I got out of the shower as evidenced by the marks left on the bathroom mat after walking around the hotel room in a towel before getting dressed in the bathroom . Yuck! So I wore my flip flops the rest of the day.

We were moved to 3 different rooms. The first room, the bed was not made, dirty towels on the bathroom floor, coffee cups on the bureau, trash on the floor. The second room had a terrible smell no microwave. The third room just ok. Not the cleanest. The beds in room 1 and 2 had stains on the mattresses.

At the time of booking there were several positive reviews that in particular noted the hotel being clean which prompted me to book as we only needed a 1 night stay while passing through town. Upon arrival, I can overlook the tiredness of the hotel and the need to update many things. However, this property needs a MAJOR deep cleaning. Hallways are musty and smell of smoke; carpets are dingy, dirty, and need to be vacuumed. Trying to be positive, I hoped for better once in our room but despite red flags. Once in the room it was a relief there wasn’t a smell BUT the room was dingy and dirty! It was apparent the room hasn’t seen a vacuum with all the dirt on the floor (grass clippings along the slider, accumulation of dirt/dust, and other types of grossness that shouldn’t be on the floors but you don’t want to look too close to know). Walls are dirty, wallpaper/paint peeling, shower drain piece was pulled off and left on the tub ledge exposing the nasty drain but when you put it back where it belongs the water doesn’t drain properly so off it was left, toilet was dirty, bathroom counter was dirty, and more but I had to stop looking because the room was prepaid and calling for the room to be addressed wasn’t going to make a difference as it needs a team to REALLY clean it. Thank goodness for disinfectant wipes! We went out to watch a movie to decrease time in the room and hightailed it out in the AM. Ni blow dryer, called front desk, said they would bring one but never did.

First, a positive: the staff was lovely, I'm at three different people at the front desk and they were all wonderful. Now, the negatives: perhaps because we booked a room with a pet, we had a horrific room on the first floor, with hair on the bedsheets, bugs on the carpet, a dirty tub that wouldn't drain. It was extremely upsetting, and we left as soon as possible and had to stay at a different hotel.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff member was fabulous under difficult circumstances. Front desk person was the only staff member at the hotel when we returned from dinner and our key wouldn't work because the battery was dead in the electronic lock. It took 45 minutes to get into the room for our belongings. She had to respond to other guests while trying to help. The fabulous staff member helped us move to a room with a working lock.
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff member was fabulous under difficult circumstances. The property upon entry smelled as if the carpets had been wet for days. The beds in my room squeaked from the slightest movement. The TV/streaming service did not work when we first arrived and again during the last day; it did work for the middle of my time at the hotel. The bathroom door stuck to the point you had to kick the door or yank on it to open. At one point I had to check to see who was knocking on my room door and there was tissue paper stuck in the peek hole of the door. The tub did not drain appropriately during our showers, and we were literally standing in a few inches of water (dangerous). I will say though, the front desk staff was helpful and courteous at all times. Overall, the money I spent could have gone to a more upscale hotel and put me closer to Yale University (the reason I was in town)/

Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The hotel looked clean but a bit shabby and the bed was comfortable. However, the toilet in the room was leaking when I entered. A staff person came to fix it but when I returned to the room at ~10 PM, it still did not flush properly. The lighting in the room is very poor…hard to read anywhere given the lighting. I would not stay here again.

This is a very old hotel, needs many upgrades. Only has one elevator which means a long walk if your room is on the other side. Unattractive lobby, hallways not kept very clean. Very small bathrooms. You can tell rooms were repainted because it was not done well. Plus was that it was near 91

We booked a room with 2 queen beds for 4 nights. The evening of our send night, we had no hot water. We thought the water heater just needed to have time to catch up to the hot water use. The next morning, we still did not have hot water. We reported it to the front desk. We also requested the provide clean towels and empty our garbage. They stated they only service the rooms every three days but would have house keeping provide a "refresh service". They also stated they would report to maintenance the hot water issue. When we returned to the room that evening, still no hot water, no clean towels and the garbage had not been emptied. I went to the front desk and requested clean towels and for the garbage to be emptied. The front desk clerk stated he would be up shortly and address those issues. I informed him that we still did not have hot water. He stated he was aware and maintenance stated they had problems with the water heater for some of the rooms. The front desk clerk then stated he would see if another room was clean and available. He moved us to another room. This room was smaller, double beds, not queen sized beds, no table, smaller refrigerator. We reserved and paid for the larger room, were moved to a smaller room and were without hot water for 24 hours. We were still charged full price for the smaller room and lack of hot water for 24 hours.

It took 2 weeks to confirm an early check in request of 1pm and an extra 20 dollars. We also had late check out and what i assume was a cleaning person keyed in at 9:30am and woke me up. Walls were paper thin, the train, traffic and outside noise was loud. Would not recommend

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff member was fabulous under difficult circumstances. Front desk person was the only staff member at the hotel when we returned from dinner and our key wouldn't work because the battery was dead in the electronic lock. It took 45 minutes to get into the room for our belongings. She had to respond to other guests while trying to help. The fabulous staff member helped us move to a room with a working lock.

When we arrived the staff had a line of people waiting because our rooms weren’t available yet. The check-in time is 3pm and we were there around 3:05pm. The staff had to run to the rooms to check to see if they were clean. It was chaos! Also, the pool stairs are so slippery that my mother slipped and fell on the stairs while getting into the pool. Other people were there at the pool saying they had a similar experience with the pool stairs. The elderly gentle man working the breakfast was AMAZING!! So sweet and very hard working!!

We checked in at 10:00 PM right after my brother-in-law, who has the same last name. the staff checking us in didn’t check anyone’s names and got our rooms mixed up, giving me a room with one king bed when I had four people standing right in front of her. I called the front desk before realizing that my BIL had gotten our room (he requested a king but was given two queens). So I called the front desk again to say that we figured it out and we switched rooms. Then at 11:30 PM the front desk called and woke up my entire family, to ask what room my brother in law was in. Ummm, hello??? He’s in the other room, the one that you wrongly gave me. Ridiculous. The property is very outdated. Breakfast was adequate with waffles and lots of juice, but very dry eggs. For the price it was acceptable as there are no great options in the area, but I am still miffed that the front desk gave us the wrong rooms and then woke us up after we told them that we took care of it ourselves.

Check in was a breeze, staff was very accommodating, my room was clean and bed was comfy. Housekeeping came in and replaced towels, soap, etc. quiet room. It was great for the price.

On the positive side, my room was clean and the furnishings in good shape. Also, the lobby was clean and hotel staff were friendly. The negatives: the unattended side entrances to the hotel (at least the two I used) were wide open all day and into the late evening -- the magnetic locks appeared to be disabled; the side entrances and staircases were worn out and dirty; check-in process was slow, even though I was the only one there; the door to my room was open when I got there; the AC didn't work (although tech quickly fixed it); there were no bath towels and none were delivered after I asked the front desk (I got some by flagging down housekeeper the next morning); the fire alarm was tripped by an actual fire while I was there. Nobody checked my room/knocked on door and nobody answered at front desk when I called to check if it was a false alarm. No sign of hotel management during or after the almost two hours of the hotel evacuation. Finally, despite my having paid for room in advance I was charged again at check in and am still waiting for that charge to be reversed. All in all my worst hotel experience in 40 years (which was last time I stayed in a hostel).

This hotel offers free breakfast (pretty decent), pool, gym, nice outdoors courtyard, cappuccino machine near lobby, etc. Prices are good when compared to other places in the area. It's close to a lot of businesses and its right off the highway. The place looks like it was recently renovated. One thing to keep in mind is that the back rooms do face the train tracks--so you will hear it several times throughout the night. However, it wasn't terrible. You could ask for a room on the opposite side. We really enjoyed it and would consider staying there again.

Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a problem getting the TV going and getting into the internet. Tried to call the receptionist and the phone was dead. Needed to walk to the front desk to report the problem. Someone came within minutes, got us into the internet and started up the TV, offered to bring a working phone, which we declined because we had our cell phone. The room was comfortable and clean with a very comfortable bed. The disadvantage was we were facing the train track. Infrequent trains whoshed by in seconds but could not be ignored. They did stop overnight and we were able to sleep but woke us up in the morning. Breakfast was limited but good. Overall, we would probably stay there again but would ask for a room on the side of the building, not facing the road or train track. Did not use facilities but the pool, exercise room, courtyard looked nice.

This is a pet-friendly hotel. I am very allergic to pets, so I called the hotel and they told me pets are only permitted on the first floor, so they gave me a room on the second floor (which was great). However, I got a room on the second floor at the BACK of the hotel. There is a train (Amtrak?) that passes the back of the hotel every hour or so at night, much more frequently on workdays after 6am. It definitely woke me up at 6am on Monday. Hard to ignore a train passing by. Overall a good hotel, especially for the price. Next time I would get a room on the second floor at the FRONT of the hotel.

I loved this hotel and would stay again. The breakfast is very filling and kept me full most of the day. There were a lot of hot items (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries). There were also bagels, English muffins, juice, etc. The staff was very pleasant, and check in was a breeze. There was a coffee machine after the check-in desk with multiple coffee options (regular coffee, lattes, expresso, etc). That was a nice touch. The channels on the TV were extensive with four HBOs, sports, etc. The location is convenient and right off of I-91. You can't miss it. The only criticism is that there is a commuter rail that comes through here quite often. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room at the front of the hotel.

Overpriced room with moldy bathroom and dirty rug. Halls coming from pool always wet and slippery with no management concern. Restaurant closed. Breakfast was a joke. Mold on bagels. Nothing appetizing or tasty.

Nice room but many channels did not work properly (the screen would freeze). Went for breakfast at 8:30 and they were out of almost everything. No eggs, no potatoes, no sausage and even their was no more coffee. Kitchen worker said they had m no I food left and blamed it on poor management. Spoke to front desk and they said to call Expedia so they could contact the hotel manager to give me a discount on my stay. I said my wife and I look for breakfast so we can save money by not going to a restaurant. Hallways had food or something everywhere. Coffee at front desk was Luke warmer and tasted like mud (probably from night before since she said they were waiting for a food delivery (poor management).

Room was nice, clean. Fridge, coffeemaker, microwave in our room. That was nice. Pool area was clean as well as the pool. Management let us stay past closing time as it was only me, my husband, son and his girl. We are all adults and behaved ourselves so she was cool and didn't kick us out as we were the only four there. However; they could use some new mattresses. They seemed to have some divids and kinda rolled into those. Continental breakfast was great large assortment of foods along with two waffle irons so you could make your own waffles. My husband was excited about that. Don't have to guess what he had for breakfast lol. I would most certainly stay there again and recommend to friends or family as well.

This hotel was ok. The room was clean and the staff was really great. But there was a lot of misinformation which made the the price a little too high. They advertise an airport shuttle which they do not have. They advertise a hot breakfast which, again, they do not have. There was a pool as advertised but the pool area had a sign that said closed. The gym was nice looking but the provided cleaning wipes for the equipment were all dried out and it was never stocked with towels. All in all, the hotel was a nice place to sleep and shower but the price should have been less since they were lacking a lot of advertised amenities. It's also the only hotel in North Haven so there aren't any other options.

Unfortunately, we were not told about the construction that was taking place prior to booking. There was plastic covering "work zones", the hallways were extremely dirty, and there was dust everywhere. The rooms were fairly nice but the construction was a mess. The office space had two computers, neither worked. I thought a reduction in price or something to that affect was definitely warranted but instead was simply told "yes, we should probably tell people about this moving forward"

Normally, I don’t put too much stock into the reviews that you read, but these were spot on. You definitely got what you paid for in this hotel was by far in the cheaper end for parents weekend down at Quinnipiac University. The hotel is clearly under massive renovations they don’t hide it nor do they clean up in or around their project areas. There was a general file order to the entire place while I will say our room was moderately clean. It was not one of the more updated rooms and noticeable damage, stains, etc.. The bartender however at the pub that’s featured at the hotel was quite lovely and a lot of the Quinnipiac parents enjoyed having conversations and sharing time around the pub in the evening.
