OYO Hickory House Inn

Cigarette hole in comforter, water bugs running around sink area spiders and bed bugs. Door did not seal let light in. Smoke detector not installed was in a draw. Our room was near laundry service water leaking into parking lot.

The hotel is run down the toilet leaked and the guy running the hotel wouldn’t fix it the washer was also broken it’s a horrible place to stay the rooms are filthy I opened the drawer on table next to the bed and there was a old smelly sock in the drawer and a bunch of trash it’s a terrible hotel says they have breakfast but there’s no place to even serve it in my opinion the place needs to be shut down

Do not do it!! This place is nasty has roaches, shower falling apart and so nasty I wouldn't use it, toilet was broke, nasty sticky stuff on tables, room had literally 20 flies in it. Never again!!!

The towels were very dingy (as if they weren't sanitized and the attendant stated that she couldn't give extra face towels because they had not done laundry). the beds had cigarette holds in the spreads, hard stains in the carpet, the iron didn't work, and the ironing board was broken. The trash was not collected; the refrigerator didn't cool. Overall, the place wasn't worth the price and not worth staying in.

Disgusting! There was urine on the sheets and pubic hair. The beds were made to hide the dirty sheets. Cigarette burns on blanket. Kids had bed bug bites the next day. Don’t stay here!

Roaches and bed bugs didn't get to stay overnight arrived about 730 pm left at 1230am sad that I had to pay $71 to experience thos

Completely filthy with dead bugs even in refrigerator. We demanded our money back and went across the street to a nicer hotel for a few dollars more

There is no hot water and we had 2 rooms no hot water in either there was blood or something on the sheets on one bed and something on another bed also had two beds and only 1 towel refrigerator was dirty just over all nasty

Disgusting, not sure if there had ever been a cleaning done, hand marks and drips on walls and doors, clearly dirty tile, footprints of different sizes in dirt everywhere, ac didn’t cool the rooms completely, bathtub drains did not work properly. Squished bugs on walls and the mirror. Front desk guy was nice and helpful, but do not stay here.

This place is horrible. I was just staying here 1 night before going hunting early am so you would think you could deal with an old outdated room if only clean. Where do I start, pulled back the bed cover and the sheets were filthy, there was mold growing in the shower and bathroom vanity. The walls looked like someone had smeared dirt, hopefully it was dirt! The smoke detector was laying on the dresser no battery and it looked like had caught on fire at some point. Then there are the electrical outlets, 3 with no covers and one near the sink. My son in law stayed in a two bedroom and it was slightly better but still smelled like smoke and wet dog in a non smoking room. Do not let the reviews fool you it has to be a friend of the owners trying to offset the poor ratings.

I got 2 rooms and didn't get there until 3 am then got to our rooms to find they were so filthy I didn't even feel comfortable staying there but that was the only place available. There was smoke residue running down the wall, the floors were so dirty with dead flies and the sheets has footprints on them. Everything was nasty

Absolutely disgusting room. Roaches and filthy. Would not recommend it to anyone!!

The room didn't look like the picture

The air conditioner in the room sounded like a freight train when it sounded off. Very loud. The flush mechanism on the stool seemed to be broken so the stool didn’t flush right. I couldn’t get to any shows on tv without paying for them.

This is one of those motels where you feel like you need to wear flipflops while walking on the car l carpet because it looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in decades. They clearly don’t bother to maintain the rooms as there multiple things barely holding onto the walls etc. you get what you pay for and if you’re paying more that $20 then you’re overpaying. The bed was comfortable though.

It was bad we had to switch rooms cause the room we had had no ac working so we moved to another room and it has bed bugs my bf ended up sleeping in the van that night never again will stay here

First I could not find the room , numbers were not very clear and small. Then my key didn't work, had to go back to the office. No shower, equipment was there but missing the divot to chance from faucet to shower. Room was Sahara desert hot. The air conditioner took almost till morning to cool room. Cheap hotel, I guess you get what you pay for

There was a refrigerator in the room but it wasn't cold. Room was definitely outdated. The best thing was the mirror outside the bathroom was very well lit. I paid $224 for 1 night, probably because of the Rock The Country show in Poplar Bluff, the reason for our stay there.

Checked into the room in the afternoon before 7pm upon going into the room it was unbearably hot the A/C barely worked and could not get anyone to the front desk to get the room switched we left at 11:43pm and we will never get a room there again no one else should either

The first room they gave us was absolutely disgusting. There was actually trash and silverware in the corner between the nightstand and wall. The bedspread was stained and so humid it was borderline saturated. The air conditioner was so scratched up it was impossible to tell what setting you were on or which ones were even available. The room itself was stifling hot despite our check in after 10 pm (apparently the AC was kept off the entire day ) The bathroom was atrocious and the back of the door looked like an animal tried to claw its way out. Even the remote to the television had no back cover on it, just exposed batteries. We spent about 15 minutes in there before we went to the desk and requested a refund or a clean room. The clerk immediately admitted he had allowed his maid and her dog to stay in that room and he would switch us to a clean room. Apparently a refund wasn't an option so we ended up moving rooms to one that was better but still borderline acceptable. Needless to say, we will not ever consider this property again.

Staff was accommodating and nice.

I was impressed with how good the hotel was. It had a good price for the 2 nights that me and my girlfriend were there. Even though the room key kept acting up the employees were apologetic and tried their best and they were very respectful. I would definitely be returning in the near future

Front desk people rude and didnt stay but one night and was suppose to stay 2 and wouldnt refund night i didnt stay abd expedia didnt help me get my money back and i took out insurance i w9uldnt use expedia either.

This place was very disappointing. The extra security for the door was missing. No hot water. I didn’t feel safe. There were a lot of people hanging around outside.

This hotel needs major remodeling! I probably wouldn’t stay there again. We traveled to watch theTotal Solar Eclipse in Dexter, MO. It was the cheapest place to stay in the area at the time. I would not recommend this place.

Did not stay there because they hsd no breakfast, which they advertised. Need to change listing on yoyr sitevto reflect no breakfast.
