Scipio Hotel

It smelled funny, like they were trying to cover pet odor in the room. There were holes knocked in the walls they painted over, but in a different color, making them really obvious. No elevator and room was on 2nd floor. We had lots of luggage and no card. It was bad in every way I can think of.

Clean and comfortable. They allowed us to take up three car parking spaces for our truck and trailer. Continental breakfast.

Good parking, well lit for nighttime, great air conditioning, didn’t have breakfast.

Great property. Sad the pool was closed.

Checked into room and discovered that TV did not work, refrigerator didn't cool down, and indoor pool area was being used as a storage room so we could not swim. The gentlemen at the front desk was not the friendliest. When we complained about the TV and asked to be moved to another room the initial response was a hearty NO! but when he failed to get it to work he was happy to move us to another room. Even there the TV did not work well because it kept buffering due to inadequate bandwidth for the wifi service. Other guests talked of the same issue at breakfast the next morning. There was a Subway next door but it closed at 7 pm. The only other option was a gas station across the street that had next to nothing for food. Breakfast was just ok. Very disappointing stay.

Ice machine broken.

The room was very large and was comfortable for a one night stay. The breakfast was minimal but coffee was great. The pool was closed. The only place for food is the store next door with a Subway in it or across the freeway to Dairy Queen.

Older property, but very clean room. They had the AC running high when we checked in, so didn't have to wait for it to cool off. Staff was a little grumpy with late (mid-night) check in, but nice next morning. Breakfast very basic; cereal or bread for toast. Pool was under construction.

Basic roadside motel. No frills. Has a pool but wasn’t available for use during my stay. Very clean but dated. Friendly staff. Close to truck stop and convenience store.

Hotel on its way downhill, but nice and clean. Only one of the front doors work. Difficulty communicating with the front desk personnel. Ice machine out of order. Carpet in room is worn thru.... BUT The room was clean and the bed linens were new. Shower was nice and clean and the ac worked great. Breakfast was adequate with fruit and waffles. For the price I would recommend this hotel.

The room was stenchy bad smell. The floor not vacumed with dirt on the floor. I walked out.

Bed was comfortable. Shower dripped all night, toilet ran all night, sink faucet leaked. Carpet was very dirty. Shampoo bottle was half full and very watery.

Cigarette butts in room on console next to TV. Room smells of cigarettes. No screens on windows to air out room. Tub dirty.

The room smelled like somebody died in it. Fortunately it was really windy out so I opened the window and left the door open a crack so the air constantly circulated.

The carpets are extremely worn, the bath/shower had quite a bit of stray hairs, the breakfast was okay not great. It also took quite sometime for someone to come check us in even at only 6:30.

The room looks nothing like the website. Staff at check in did not greet us at all, just asked to see ID. It was difficult to understand the password for WiFi and it isn’t written down for you. The floor was dirty in bathroom, definitely yellow and not a stain. “Breakfast” was bread and a toaster, DIY waffle and cold cereal. There was an envelope in the room with writing on the envelope “tip for housekeeping” I’m not leaving tip for a dirty room.

Room was dirty upon check-in. It was missing the smoke detector. I would not recommend this hotel.

Check in was easy and staff was helpful and friendly. This is an older building and needs some TLC. The electrical outlets are worn and plugs nearly fall out when plugged in. There were no USB charging ports. Bathroom was nice with a good shower,athough the sink hot water stopped being hot. Nice sized television with lots of shows to choose from. Parking lot and areas around the hotel need to improved. It was quiet in our room on the back side. The breakfast was very good for a continental breakfast - appreciated that.

Bed was awful otherwise not to bad of a place

The room was mostly clean, inside the microwave and fridge was gross, the only lighting for the room was two lamps and one lamp light was out.

I keep meaning to tell you guys that the bed in room 107 is sagging at the bottom. I love that its a handicap room with shower chair, but my goodness its noisy. Probably my least favorite room because of that. Its right next to the outside exit door, so people coming in and out make the room pretty noisy. So from now on, ive got to remeber i like room #120 better. I also left a pillow on my last visit, and was happy that they still had it when i returned.

Nice that it was close to the highway. Large bathroom, decent shower. Unfortunately, we were given a room right next to the exit and stairs, so we heard plenty of noise throughout the night. The carpet was very old and stained. The bed was basically a mattress cover over springs - very little support. Three pillows about half normal size. Only food options less than 20 miles away are Wendy’s and Subway.

The property looks worn. Wi-Fi connection was spotty. Had to have person in duty come and work on cable TV. Was hooked into guest WIfi and would just spin. When he hooked it into main WiFi it worked fine. Unless you asked the tv didn’t work. We had a dog and had put that on our reservation and he insinuated that we were trying to sneak the dog into our room. Breakfast was limited but OK.

this hotel is a great stopover for the night just off the highway. the room was clean, spacious and very quiet. it also had pretty quiet AC, Netflix, and wifi which was convenient.

It was kinda what u expect..hsrd to check in..u ring for him n he takes 10 min to get to u and speaks broken english once he gets there..

The owner was very concerned we were pleased with our room. He even came to the door to ask if we were going to get the complimentary breakfast because he was having it cleared away soon and he wanted to make sure we had an opportunity to get some.

The manager “Raj” was rude and unprofessional in my opinion. The hotel was just a stop over on our 3 week journey across the west. The building was old and worn out. Not a comfortable stay so we checked out a day early to move on down the road.

The manager was offensive and rude and the room was dirty. I only stayed one night and left. already paid for the second night but lost that money. All around bad experience.Too harsh for a review? Check-in was frustrating. The front desk staff was unfriendly and unprofessional. We asked to check in one hour early and were told we could — but only if we paid $25 in cash. The room itself was dirty, with a filthy tub and a faucet that wouldn’t shut off completely. We had booked for two nights but left after one. No refund was offered, but honestly, we were just glad to leave. We found a much better place in Salina instead.

We needed a place for one night in this area. The Scipio Hotel did the trick. No food options besides Wendy's and Subway anywhere. Staff not available.

We were trying to make it to St. George in the middle of the night and couldn’t do it. We got too tired. I tried booking a reservation at the Scipio hotel online. It was after midnight, so apparently I reserved for the wrong day. We showed up around 1:30am. I could tell the front desk clerk had been asleep. I felt bad waking him up. But he was extremely unpleasant. He couldn’t find our reservation, which makes sense because I messed up the days. When we realized what happened, I asked if we could just cancel that reservation and get the same price for tonight. He said yes. The online total price for my reservation was $75. When all was said and done, he charged us $108. I know it was a different day, but he had said it would be the same price. I was too tired to fight it or go somewhere else. Another guest came in when we were checking in, and he stopped helping us to have a conversation with this other guy before continuing to help us. We finally got to our room, and it was dirty. Dried spilled coffee was on the tile. The bathroom smelled horrible. The sink wouldn’t drain well. The only good thing was the bed was comfortable and seemed clean. I was grateful for that. We just needed a place to land our heads for a few hours before we finished our drive. As we were leaving in the hotel, my boyfriend told the front desk guy that the room wasn’t cleaned well. All he did was point to the Google review QR code. He didn’t care to hear what we had to say. His attitude was awful.

Very convenient as a stop off the highway on the way back to Salt Lake City from Zion. Check in was easy, Raj at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The place was clean and the room was big. Perfect for all the luggage we had and for 3 people to stay in (2 queen room). Limited breakfast options, nothing too substantial. Overall, it's a great value for the convenience.

This is by far one of the worst check-in experiences I’ve ever had. The old Indian dude is rude af. He talks to you as if he has never talked to a human being. Anxiously rude, disrespectful and the worst check-in experience you can get. Avoid this place if you can sleep in your car.

Sufficient for a road trip stop. Restaurants are limited to DQ, Subway, and local service station home made items. Sufficient for our needs.

Close to I15, not much to eat around hotel, 2 gas stations , one with a subway & the other with typical gas station food.

It was in an area that only had a Dairy Queen, a gas station with food, etc. and a subway attached to it. Very isolated. Other than the limited food, it was fine.

If you find yourself between SLC and St. George, this place is an ok night stop. It really is the middle of not much but it works. Only 2 options for dinner nearby- Wendy’s and subway. The property is older but it was clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast is really basic , waffle toast bagel type, but works ok. The price is really good. Plus we had a dog so the closeness of room to the door outside was good. Yes I would stay again.

Hotel was great. No restaurants in town except Wendy’s and Subway. Eat first or drive to Filmore

I only review based on how we slept- this place was great for sleep. (Breakfast was minimal)

This is not a 4-star property. It is a 2 Star property at best. It is tread worn and run down. The breakfast they offer embarrasses every customer who stays at this property. I would not recommend the Scripio Hotel to anyone,

Only place to stop after a long drive on the loneliness highway. Room had only towels for 1 person, room pretty stark and empty and breakfast was awful. White bread with peanut butter and jelly in jars. Sugared cereal only. But some instant oatmeal.
