Postcard Cabins Starved Rock

What a fun way to end our family road trip and to enjoy the Starved Rock area. Our family enjoyed our tiny cabin experience, the s'more kits were a hit as we sat around a camp fire. I hope to visit a Postcard Cabin again some day.

So cute, clean, and well done! Stayed cool even in >90° heat outside. Perfect little getaway.

The cabin was all it said it was. Quiet, well stocked, A/c worked great, loved having a shower after hiking in Starved Rock. Nice get-away. Would do it again.

Nice to enjoy quiet, and get away from daily life. We wished the fire pit are was a little larger

It was very clean, easy to find and very very quiet. The service was excellent and there were many extra surprises ( firewood, ingredients for s’mores, a lantern) it was a wonderful stay

This was a cute little place to stay in a remote wooded location. It was a little small for 4 adults but would be perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids. It has 2 bunks, Queen on the bottom and double on top. It has a nice fire pit for roasting hotdogs and marshmallows. There was plenty of firewood and starter for two nights. The kitchen had essential items to eat and cook. Beds were comfortable and air conditioner worked well.

Staff update you through text messages, which is easier in case of problems. Room was clean and welcoming. Please be aware of your surroundings! 2 raccoons took our marshmallows lol. It was fun

Quaint little cabin, with everything you really need. Pack light, and enjoy the fire and quiet. Really lovely stay!

The cabin was what was needed, a small get away. I will say I expected the views to be better. Also, just make sure to do your research, because I thought that the hot tub would be included in the cabin I stayed in. But was sadly mistaken. Overall the stay was good and very relaxing though.

They are postcard sized, so what they advertise is what you get, which was perfect for me. I took a cabin just for a couple of days alone time with my puppers 🐶I could not have found a better place, and I will definitely come back. I do wish they had a mini microwave in the cabins, and I would suggest bringing an extension cord, because I could not find an outlet near the beds to charge my phone. As I travel with an extension cord, it was not a problem. Enjoy.

It was small and quiet, like I had envisioned. However, the shower had leaked water onto the floor for quite some time and you could see the spots where mold was beginning to grow. As well as the bathroom had the mositure problem, there was a colony of carpenter ants that had moved in. Otherwise it was fine place to stay. I would try to stay on one of the cabins closer to the river if i stayed again.

The cabin was nice really clean the only thing I didn’t like is that it wasn’t secluded two other cabins were really close to each other they could see where our outside area was and we could see theirs. I would book again only if I could choose which cabin I wanted

It was a great stay! The location was perfect, the property was well set up and clean. Definitely will be returning for a longer stay some time soon!

Based on the photos and ads, I was so excited for my stay. When I arrived, there were bugs all over the sheets, which I chalked up to being surrounded by trees. But then the picnic table outside was covered with aunts (set a newspaper down and within 10 minutes it was just overrun). Later in the evening, as the sun was setting, the picnic table had 10+ cockroaches that then spread to the area surrounding the stairs to enter the cabin. Although the text number was very responsive, they did not provide any accommodation to the fact that I did not feel comfortable spending the night.

Really loved my stay and all that was included with my stay. It was quiet, peaceful, secluded and I could really relax. Everything was clean and ready to use. I wish that Postcard did a better job of communicating what was provided in the cabins so that I would not have overpacked and brought too much! Overall it Was amazing and it felt like camping without all the work!

We really enjoyed how the staff always checked in on us and how comfortable we felt in the cabin! Everything was wonderful and we look forward to booking again! Only thing is the utensils needed and extra wash but that is fine!

View and cabin were beautiful. A little bit smaller than I expected but really well done. Perfect for 1-2 nights away

By far one of the best Glamping experiences I’ve had. My children had so much fun and our Family dog enjoyed it even more. Very comfortable and cozy at the same time and best part the A/C was amazing after enjoying the hot weather. Will definitely be coming back.

3 major points to be aware of: the name is deceiving (this is not at Starved Rock state park but 20 min away), if the power goes out- so does the water and Ameren Electric is not very timely, if you book thru Hotels.com then this postcard cabin group will not reimburse you if problems arise (but Hotels.com was fabulous). We got no cabin # or entry code that day but easily reached a offsite rep on the phone. She was fabulous all thru our fiasco. 10 min of bringing our belongings in then power went off. Super cold outside wirh windchill of 15°, so headed into town to wait it out, Rep kept us aware of progress. 4 hours later and no sign of repairs, discussed with the rep the fact of having to use the woods as a bathroom during the night was not acceptable. We wanted to cancel and were told that all the reservations would be reviewed and refunds determined. Returned to grab our bags and got a hotel in town for the night. Supposedly the power came back on in another few hours. Next morning another rep was in charge, who rudely told me there was nothing for them to fix, and the "3rd party" would be the one to deal with. Why were we led on to believe the company authorities would be calling to discuss it? Nothing was mentioned about Hotels.com taking care of it. Positives: great view from bedroom, very small interior but adequate for 2 adults, nice size bathroom, only sink is in kitchen, no microwave, modern decor, was nice temperature inside when we 1st got there, coffee/snacks

Large window beside the comfy bed made me feel as if I was sleeping under the stars!

Came here with my husband and six year old son. We had a wonderful time disconnecting from the city, work, and everyday hustle and bustle. It was the perfect getaway, not too far from home, which was a 1.5 hr. drive from Chicago. Although it was a tiny cabin, it was more spacious once inside. My husband is 6’2” and he was able to sleep comfortably. We will definitely be back!

My stay was amazing! I was kind of skeptical at first because it’s out in the middle of nowhere and i didn’t check in until after 8. But once i arrived, everything was perfect. It was peaceful and well worth the drive. Also, i appreciated the fast response when needed from them. I’ll definitely be returning.

I liked the place, but it was difficult to find my cabin, but everything else was 10/10, I recommend it.

It was a great experience. The cabin is quiet in a wooded area but close to town, should you need anything. It is also conveniently located by three state parks. Great place for outdoor activities! We did tons of hiking and it was really fun!

Here’s so quiet and safe all houses far away from each other i can highly recommend you to visit this place and take a rest from busy and noisy city
