We loved our time spent at this beachfront gem! The location can’t be beat… a short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. Great for our teenagers who were always on the move and who took full advantage of the game room, and for my older parents who loved sitting on the deck with their morning coffee enjoying the view. The house was clean and well-appointed… we made good use of the beach chairs, beach towels and lobster pots. Would definitely come back!!

Staying here was a wonderful experience! The kitchen was fully stocked so cooking was very convenient l!!! We thoroughly enjoyed the game room, the view, the proximity to the beach and downtown as well as dinners on the deck. We can’t wait to go back!!!

Beautifully decorated and spacious home with great access to the beach and downtown. Stunning water views. Our family of six adults were very happy vacationing in this newly remodeled home. Tons of space to spread out and two decks with stunning views. Bonus: we were able to bring our dog!

The Pioneer gave us the perfect Christmas family reunion location. With people flying in from all over, Logan was a easy trip. The views, the walks, the game room for the kids, and the layout of the house were perfect. We were able to put all the kids upstairs with their parents and the adults were downstairs. The kitchen had everything - every size pot and pan, plenty of dishes and glasses, and supplies that you almost always forget to bring. We had a wonderful 7 days and would love to repeat the experience next year.

The house is not only beautifully renovated and spacious, offering the perfect blend of communal areas and private retreats, but it's also located just across from Short Sands Beach, providing breathtaking ocean views from nearly every window. The responsiveness of the hosts added to our seamless experience. The game room in the garage was a delightful bonus that everyone enjoyed. This home is an ideal choice for a family reunion, especially in the off-season. Highly recommend for a memorable family getaway

This was our first stay at The Pioneer on York Beach, and it was perfect for our family. There was plenty of room for the adults and our 7 grandchildren, and everyone had a great time. Much of our time was spent on the beach each day, which was just a short walk from the house. We’ve stayed at 4 different GVC properties for the past 5 years, and each one has been excellent - they all have a consistent feel and provide all the necessary amenities for a wonderful experience. The Game room was a special space, providing a separate area to enjoy game time. Our hosts from GVC were easy to work with and accessible as needed.

Location cannot be beat .. short drive to Nubble lighthouse, Fox’s, Dunne’s ice cream, or short walk to the Goldenrod, Wicked Good Ice Cream, the Fun o Rama, bowling , shops and restaurants ! Easy access to beach … a beach wagon is available for guest use… beds were comfortable .. house was immaculately clean.. plenty of towels and beach towels …views are amazing and I miss the view while enjoying my morning coffee ! We hope to return again ! I used to go to York Beach with my grandparents and I’m glad I could introduce my boys, their wives and my grandchildren to a place that is so special to me ! Be sure to check out Anthony’s on route 1 for great pizza/ sandwiches / Italian dishes to go… nice Hannafords nearby and Stonewall kitchen is a short drive !

We had plenty of space, and everyone enjoyed having their own bedroom. We loved being directly across from the water, and you can see the ocean from most rooms in the house, which was amazing. This is our second year renting this house and it continues to be our favorite! Plenty of space for 15 pple (this includes children) to spread out. We’ve never seen a better stocked kitchen!! Everything you would think you’d need can be found in one of the cabinets.

We really enjoyed staying in this home, perfect location. Would highly recommend. On arrival we did find 4 unlocked windows. 3 downstairs and 1 upstairs. Just something to check. Also the folded extra blanket on the king size bed needed to be washed. There was some sort of stain on it.

We’ve stayed as a family at a number of VRBO properties and this one ranks at the top for sure. There was so much room to spread out, the home is well-maintained and the location is perfect right at the beach. The game room was a lot of fun and a nice perk! The owners were super responsive to questions and very accommodating. Highly recommend!

This was our third year renting this house. Once again, it did not disappoint! Communication with the owners was easy. They were very helpful and quick to respond to our questions. It was a pleasure dealing with them. The ocean view from the first floor (and deck) is spectacular! The house is spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. The bonus game room was a plus to have for down time or chilly nights/mornings. Looking forward to a return stay!

Absolutely perfect stay! The home was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. My spouse and 7 adult family members comfortably stayed in this house without feeling on top of each other. The location was perfect. Walking distance to shops, restaurants in York but also incredible views right from the deck. We could not have picked a better house for our family.

Our family of 9 adults enjoyed a relaxing long weekend in York. The house perfectly accommodated all of us. There was plenty of space, comfortable bedrooms and everything we needed was easily assessable. The location is perfect - right on the beach! And restaurants and shopping are minutes away. We so enjoyed our 4-night stay in this home. Beautiful views, comfortable beds, everything we needed in the kitchen and the convenience of the Ogunquit Playhouse and good restaurants made our stay so nice despite the bad weather. Loved this home.

Our stay was wonderful! The home was clean, beautifully decorated, and had all the items needed for cooking, bathing, etc. My only comment from people in our group was the WiFi was not strong enough to support all of our devices and some of the mattresses were not comfortable and should be replaced.

The house was perfect for our needs. The absolutely wonderful location, right on the beach and walking distance to shops, is ideal. The house was very clean and well organized, and we didn't lack for anything. .We did have difficulty with the wifi one day, but the owners responded right away and the issue was taken care of immediately. I would definitely stay again! ps I found it a bit irritating that we needed to strip the beds and start the towel laundry, especially given that we pay for cleaning services.

I’ve been visiting York for the past fifteen years, and have stayed in a number of rentals. I don’t think I’ll ever find a better location than this house. The proximity to short sands and downtown is ideal, especially for those with kids. The owners were delightful and responsive. I have nothing but good things to say about our stay!

The pics matched the house and the location was great for easy walks to the beach as well as good time with family and friends. When we needed to get in touch with the owners about house needs, they were communicative and prompt and sent help right away. Would recommend this location for your vacay!

We are a multi-generation family that gathered from Ohio and New York to stay in this fantastic (site unseen) home. We found the setting perfect for children, dogs and the adults who love them. The house is awesome --immaculate and uncluttered enabling us to kick back without worrying about fussy furnishings and knick-knacks. Our group size necessitated lots of cooking in the well-equipped kitchen. Every need is anticipated. There is even a crock pot! We appreciated the lovely owners. They were laid back yet quick to respond to questions and needs. Thanks much. We'll definitely return to this awesome home.

This was our first stay at The Pioneer on York Beach, and it was perfect for our family. There was plenty of room for the adults and our 7 grandchildren, and everyone had a great time. Much of our time was spent on the beach each day, which was just a short walk from the house. We’ve stayed at 4 different GVC properties for the past 5 years, and each one has been excellent - they all have a consistent feel and provide all the necessary amenities for a wonderful experience. The Game room was a special space, providing a separate area to enjoy game time. Our hosts from GVC were easy to work with and accessible as needed.

This is the second year my family has rented this property and we have enjoyed both our stays very much! The new renovations are beautiful and there’s lots of space for all. Although we were sad to see the enclosed wrap-around porch removed, we enjoyed sitting outside on the new deck and loved the open-concept layout of the downstairs. The ocean views from the house are gorgeous and the sounds of the waves are so relaxing! The location is ideal for beach outings at Short Sands and is only a few minute walk from downtown. The owners, Steve and Desni, are flexible and responsive. Both stays, they kindly extended our check-out by an hour, as we have an elderly family member (92 yrs old) who requires a bit more time to get up and ready. They communicate all instructions clearly and respond to all inquiries quickly. We look forward to renting this property again!

This house is amazing! Very clean, roomy, kitchen equipped with necessities, and the views are amazing. The quick walk to the lighthouse and town were a plus. The owners are great to work with - friendly, hispitable, and just nice people.

This was our third year renting this house. Once again, it did not disappoint! Communication with the owners was easy. They were very helpful and quick to respond to our questions. It was a pleasure dealing with them. The ocean view from the first floor (and deck) is spectacular! The house is spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. The bonus game room was a plus to have for down time or chilly nights/mornings. Looking forward to a return stay!

The house was perfect for our needs. The absolutely wonderful location, right on the beach and walking distance to shops, is ideal. The house was very clean and well organized, and we didn't lack for anything. .We did have difficulty with the wifi one day, but the owners responded right away and the issue was taken care of immediately. I would definitely stay again! ps I found it a bit irritating that we needed to strip the beds and start the towel laundry, especially given that we pay for cleaning services.

We loved our time spent at this beachfront gem! The location can’t be beat… a short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. Great for our teenagers who were always on the move and who took full advantage of the game room, and for my older parents who loved sitting on the deck with their morning coffee enjoying the view. The house was clean and well-appointed… we made good use of the beach chairs, beach towels and lobster pots. Would definitely come back!!

Beautifully decorated and spacious home with great access to the beach and downtown. Stunning water views. Our family of six adults were very happy vacationing in this newly remodeled home. Tons of space to spread out and two decks with stunning views. Bonus: we were able to bring our dog!

We had an incredible stay at this VRBO! The house is not only beautifully renovated and spacious, offering the perfect blend of communal areas and private retreats, but it's also located just across from Short Sands Beach, providing breathtaking ocean views from nearly every window. The responsiveness of the hosts added to our seamless experience. The game room in the garage was a delightful bonus that everyone enjoyed. We have just returned from a week at York Beach and enjoyed every minute of our vacation .. there were 11 of us ranging from 6 years to 76 years ! Location cannot be beat .. short drive to Nubble lighthouse, Fox’s, Dunne’s ice cream, or short walk to the Goldenrod, Wicked Good Ice Cream, the Fun o Rama, bowling , shops and restaurants ! Easy access to beach … a beach wagon is available for guest use… beds were comfortable .. house was immaculately clean.. plenty of towels and beach towels …views are amazing and I miss the view while enjoying my morning coffee ! We hope to return again ! I used to go to York Beach with my grandparents and I’m glad I could introduce my boys, their wives and my grandchildren to a place that is so special to me ! Be sure to check out Anthony’s on route 1 for great pizza/ sandwiches / Italian dishes to go… nice Hannafords nearby and Stonewall kitchen is a short drive !

We very much enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house, which is basically right on Short Sands Beach. We had everything we needed, and the house was clean and cozy. We had plenty of space, and everyone enjoyed having their own bedroom. We loved being directly across from the water, and you can see the ocean from most rooms in the house, which was amazing. Our kids also loved the game room! We hope to return to enjoy some sunshine in the summer months! Thank you!

The Pioneer gave us the perfect Christmas family reunion location. With people flying in from all over, Logan was a easy trip. The views, the walks, the game room for the kids, and the layout of the house were perfect. We were able to put all the kids upstairs with their parents and the adults were downstairs. The kitchen had everything - every size pot and pan, plenty of dishes and glasses, and supplies that you almost always forget to bring. We had a wonderful 7 days and would love to repeat the experience next year.

This was a beautiful, tidy, spacious beach house with amazing views of Short Sands beach. We loved the house and it was perfect for our extended family. The little kids (5&6) loved the toys and the adults loved the puzzles. The Kitchen had many amenities and was a pleasure to cook in. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful and we'd love to come back some day.

We enjoyed the location. We were able to walk along Short Sand Beach to the town. We walked to the nubble Lighthouse, although it is on a busy road so others might choose to drive. We also walked to Long Sand Beach. The kitchen was well stocked. Because we were 6 units the house worked really well for our group.

Absolutely perfect stay! The home was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was fantastic—close to the beach, great restaurants, and all that York has to offer. The hosts were responsive and made everything seamless. Our family rented this home to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday, and it was everything we hoped for! We had family come from VA, FL, NV, and AZ. It was everyone's first time in Maine, and we felt like we were in a Hallmark movie. The house was very clean and in a perfect location. The local shops were charming. We loved the ocean views from the patio, and walking along the beach! Communication with the host was easy and responsive. I would definitely rent from them again. Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful home. Can’t say enough about the location and cleanliness of this house. We went off season early May so can’t say it was busy but love the beach views and open large first floor for hanging out and having meals with friends. Pretty much everything you need is there.
