Extended Stay America Suites Portland Hillsboro

This is a nice-looking property, but I was shocked to find a full kitchen with full-sized refrigerator, sink, microwave, 2-burner stove and plenty of cabinets - all of which were totally empty. There was no coffee pot, no pots or pans of any kind, no cutlery, no plates, cups or glasses. (I went back to my RV which was being worked on near by and got what I needed rather than invest in one of their "kitchen packages.") Other than black areas (mold?) on the grout between the tub and tile, the room looked clean. The bed was comfortable, the hot water, heat and AC worked (although the heater was noisy when it kicked in), but the room was a long walk from the elevator. I learned to use the back stairs and park close to the rear door, although the landings were often littered with cigarette butts and trash bags, and the rear door was never locked. (This is a no smoking property, and it seemed that the smokers used that exit to go outside to smoke.) If I need a hotel in Hillsboro in the future, I will look elsewhere, but if I can't find a similar price, I would stay here again.

I am requesting a portion of my last four days at the hotel that I booked through Expedia, but paid three on site. The hotel's WIFI wiring was down for almost a week, and I was unable to login to finish very important legal papers I needed to finish. I would have moved from the hotel if it was for the fact that the amount of papers I had were sorted and placed in the room in a specific order and had to be entered online in that order. Not only did the lack of wifi stop me from working on the case, but it also prevented the front desk to be notified of my Expedia payent, and instead of the clerk calling Expedia and requesting confirmation of the payment, the clearl tore off a piece of paper and gave me the direct number to Expedia to GET IT STRAIGHTENED OUT. I recorded the conversation, and will use the recording for a lawsuit I'm filing against Extended Stay America if I don't get a full refund of my time spent there during August 2025, specifically 20th-23rd. Plus the hassle and embarrassment of the same clerk calling the police, as if your hotel had won a "judgement' against me and forced me to move out of the hotel. At 71 years old and disabled, this lack of assistance, harassment, fraud, and failure to provide promised services amounts to Elderly Abuse, which is a FEDERAL CIVIL RIGHTS CRIME. It will be tried in a Federal District Court, and my attorneys will be asking for significant punitive damages, and your clerk and manager may face criminal charges for abuse.

About the only good things about this location was the kitchenette (to a degree) and the muffins/tea/coffee to go. That being said, there was so much wrong at the location for me to have spent $550-600/wk. Our water was randomly shut off with ZERO warning for renovation construction so we couldn't shower, use the bathroom, make food, etc for a few hours. We left early one day to go to the ER and when we got back, we had to go up the stairs to get to our room because they were redoing the flooring. The front said "didn't you get the notice that we're asking everyone to stay in or out of their room for the next 5 or 6 hours" when we weren't even there nor did anyone call the number on file when we didn't answer at the room. Often they started the renovation construction BEFORE the state/county mandated begin hour for construction and went later than the state/county mandated end hour. It was difficult moving around the construction team having to weave in and out of doorways to get where I needed to especially on the bottom floor. Whenever we did laundry there was at least 1 or 2 of each type of machine not working at any given time on the 3rd floor and the 2nd floor only had 2 or 3 machines working period. I had half a mind to try to get part of the trip refunded after staying there almost 2 weeks but the main one(s) up front were new and weren't helpful at all over half the time.

It is being renivated there was holes in the sheetrock carpet was coming up and had staples sticking out that cut my husbands foot

Dirty everywhere, hallways, room, stinks, key card didn’t work until 3rd replacement, amenities included a pool but the pool was removed years ago and replaced with a patio.

I booked and paid intermittently, waiting for the wifi to work on.a very important legal project, and the Wifi was down in the office and throughout the hotel. I was told by the 3rd party wifi provider it would be up in 24-72 hours, and that was my second day (aug 18) but the wifi was ought until Friday night, Aug 20. I couldn't finish my project but was prepared to EXTEND MY STAY another week now that the WIFI was working. There is no way to simply say "EXTEND MY STAY" on expedia. I can't find how to book the same room on your website. I literally think I'm being hacked because I need to book from Sat. Aug 23 to August 30. How do I do this, and also make sure this time the hotel GETS THE BOOKING? everything else is great, but it is extremely important that I not mess this project up by moving over 700 already arranged categorized documents until the rest are finished. how do I book through today Sunday, then Sunday go Friday or longer?

why does EVERY HOTEL HAVE RIPOFF CABLE SETUPS THAT DOBN'T SHOW THE NAMES OF THE MOVIES, CANT SYNC THE GUIDE CHANNEL SHOWS COMING U, AND ONE ACTUALLY IS SHOWING YESTERDAY'S DATE AND IS THREE HOURS BEHIND. This means wbat you read on the channel guide is the show playing on east standard time. too bad you are on Pacific Standard Time. You have no idea what channel is currently showing. It's already passed by, you are three hours ahead. How hard is it to get a tech in to sync the cable because every room has the same problem. Also, what's with the ICE machine, only one for three floors and 100 rooms... yipes. Finally THE STUPIDEST AND MOST DANGEROUS IS THEY MAKE YOU TYPE IN YOUR FULL NAME, EMAIL and then, perfect for every single woman like myself, MY ROOM NUMBER.. You have no idea who is looking at your location and your data. All hotels are not WIFI SAFE, but this is another level. You should only need a wifi access password and type ONCE. You want "Fast" internet, pay $2.00 a DAY to get it.

No Pool as advertised. Trash spilling out of trash cans. Room was clean. Staff was nice. Breakfast was a joke. Good if your only staying a few nights.

The staff was nice but the internet was horrible, and had to pay for better service, whuch was unnecessary nerver have i ever had to do that before at any hotel. told them about the dishwasher not draining and all they did was suctioned it out and didnt actually fix it. Used it the same night and was stopped up again and it stunk so bad from the water just sitting in it. The internet was terrible and if you wanted better internet you had to pay extra which makes no sense. Worst place i have ever stayed but the staff was nice.

The room didn’t even look like it had been cleaned. The floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped at all, there was a spill of some sort (maybe milk) all over the leg of the table, chairs, and side of the couch. The washcloth folded next to the sink looked like it was used. The room smelled so bad every time we walked in! There were items left by a previous customer. The sheets had holes in them. The TV remote didn’t work.

Roaches!

Sofa bed mattress stained in multiple places. No linen, no hangars, party next door. Bathroom smelled like urine. Big roach in light fixture. Curtains falling apart. I was in room 134. It was disgustingly and very disappointing. I was supposed to stay 3 nights but I only stayed one because it was too late for me to find another hotel that night. However, I left the next day I would like the other two nights refunded. I already submitted a complaint. And did a live chat with an Expedia agent. Haven’t heard back from anyone yet.

Once we saw cockroaches, our stay became less than comfortable.

This is the worst place I have stayed in over 30 years. The hallways of the building were filthy, there was garbage stacked in the stairways, and even some in the main hallways. The bathroom door of our room would not close, the floor was stained and dirty, the cover of one of the large lights was dangling by one end, the bed linen was stained and did not appear to have been washed and there was human hair all around the outside of the box spring and mattress. This place needs to checked by the health department. NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!

This was my absolute WORST experience in a hotel in my entire life. The hotel its self is not very clean. There were the same pieces of garbage, food and hairballs lining the carpets in the halls the entire time I was there. That wasn’t my breaking point, this was. I came back to the hotel around midnight after a wedding and my key card wasn’t working and I couldn’t access my room. I went to the lobby and the “maintenance” guy tried to open my door with my key and his master key and neither worked. Apparently there were absolutely no other workers there and he refused to call for help. I told him to call someone to open my door and he kept saying he doesn’t have any numbers of the other employees or managers but refused to actually look or do anything. After telling me I could sleep in the LOBBY and gesturing me into a random closet, another hotel guest overheard our ongoing predicament, noticed me almost in tears and terrified at this point, and stepped in. The other hotel guest had to physically use the key card machine and figure out how to make me a card so I could actually get into my room since the worker didn’t want to help. Once I was settled into my room with the help of the amazing guest, it was about 1230-1 am. The maintenance man then decided to come back to my room POUNDING on my door insisting I open it for him. After yelling no and then hysterically crying he finally went away. I feared for my LIFE staying here and I will never return or recommend it.

Absolutely discusting, the room had been gone through but my kids found food, mayo packets in a pillow case (obviously not changed out) pubic hair all over the bathroom and sink. Excellent room layout but discusting cleanliness.

Horribly disgusting! Cockroaches meal worms, globs of black hair everywhere even on the beds. Staff was anything but helpful. Slept in my vehicle because it was so nasty

I arrived as a late check in after a 12 hour long drive . It was about 2am when i checked in so i wasnt expecting anyone chipper at the front desk. All i wanted was a shower and a good nights sleep. The shower, however was filthy. It had hair and dirt in it. All the furniture had fingerprints and who knows what else on it. Clearly not even wiped down. The place reeked of mold and caused my allergies to flare up. Later we realized they had water leaking into the ceiling, walls, and carpets of the hallways. Needless to say i did not have a good nights rest.

The walls are very thin so there is a lot of noise from hallways or if someone talks loudly in another room. Fortunately, most guests were quiet at least by 11pm. Was in a nice area. The room was nice and roomy, comfortable bed. If you forget any toiletries, they have a lot of things available at the front desk.

Me and my significant other decided to get away for a relaxing weekend. The room was great. Lots of room and love the kitchen in the room. No complaints and we will be back

the property is under remodel; my room was well worn and in need of being redone.

The ac unit has cover off and not plugged in.

Other residents were very noisy. Walls were thin. Seemed like not the best quality of tenants living there.

Spacious and comfortable for a one night stay.

Non smoking room smelled like old ashtray. Smoke detector was dangling from ceiling. Half the lamps had no lightbulbs. I dont want to know what the stain was dripping down the bed skirt.

The exterior of the hotel looks great, lobby is fine too, however, the room hallways and rooms are terrible. They look like an old Motel 6. The rooms have very old run down furniture, beds feel terrible, like $20 mattresses, and the carpet in the room and hallways need to be replaced bad! The hallways and rooms need a COMPLETE renovation, just too old and nasty!! The area is nice, but hotel is run down!!

So check in is at 3pm at this hotel. We showed up at 6:30pm and the room wasn’t ready, they were short staffed and had to call other properties for help. Ok, I get it. Short staffed is a regular thing now. Tim at the front desk apologized and was really nice. I asked if we could have a later check out for the inconvenience, he said yes and said we could check out at noon instead of 11am. Awesome, thank you. We went to our room and it smelled nice, but it looked like a complete facade. The floors were super sticky and looked like they hadn’t been swept or mopped. The lock on the door was falling off, the door handle to the bedroom was broken and fell off once. I did the best I could to get it back on and stay. Under the bed was FILTHY and had trash under it…they don’t look under the bed when they clean? The microwave plate was missing and the microwave just wouldn’t work at all. They didn't have silverware, they didn’t have plates, they had a couple pots and pans to borrow and that was basically it. The following day for check out, we were told noon, yet someone came knocking on our door at 11:30 and said check out was at 11. I informed her we were given a later check out since our room wasn’t even remotely close to ready at the proper check in time. She said she was not informed about that but if we checked out later than 11:59 we would be charged a late fee. Zero stars. Tim was great. So was the sweet lady who worked night shift.

Reasonable price. The place is Clean & the staff are nice people, easy to approach. Thank you Alma and Grace in front desk. We appreciate your service.

Alright so I booked thursday and friday night. There was bad traffic in Seattle so ended up being a lot later than planned. Got in around 1:20am and was told that their computers shut down at 1. That was not mentioned at all when I booked. It took almost 2 hours to be able to get into a room.(Shout out to the laundry lady- she had to work the front counter and figure out how to do everything even though its not her job. She was great and I felt so had for her! When I finally did get into a room, it had cockroachs.I got switched to another one and it had ants and the floors looked like they hadnt been swept. I will say that it was close to a lot of things and I could have my dogs.

The best part was the Customer Service at check in. GRACE was just amazing! She was nice, polite and accomodated our every need. I will use this motel chain again, because of her.

Excellent customer service

I got to my room and felt so unsafe especially with the neighbors being extremely loud. Tried calling front desk a few times and no answer so I took all of my things to the front desk and had the girl move me after waiting awhile

Very nice staff love the location it’s near a few shopping centers, overall had a great experience.

I did not like that the information about the rating of 3 stars was misleading. The property’s parking lot was well lighted but many people were loitering at night. The hallway smells like dead fish. The king’s suites - carpet were old, dirty. The room smell so bad that even a whole package of chlorox wipes did not work and we cannot sleep with the smell. The lights in the room were yellow, making it dark. There are hair on pillows or bed sheet. The curtains have bloody stains. The chairs were dilapidated that it is difficult to enjoy stay. I do not recommend this place even for a night stay

I wasn't aware it has a kitchen so I will be looking for Extended Stay hotels in my future travels. I loved that it was in a convenient location with restaurants and shopping in a walkable distance.

I asked for dishes to be brought to my room like they advertise everywhere in the property, and I had to go to the desk to get them, and when I got them I asked for two place settings and a pan. What I got was 2 plates, 2 cups, a pot, and a spatula and was told they had no silverware, or pans, and the dishes I did get were dirty. Also, there was a lot of yelling and slamming coming from a room down the hall. Oh ya, and the doors are super light so they slam shut if you don't hold it until it closes. Not cool.

No cups, silverware,coffee maker, grab and go breakfast was a muffin( tiny) Wont stay here again.

The person in front of me checking in complained that she had waited 27 minutes for someone to show at the front desk. Most of the time there wasn't anyone there. Our room was comfortable, but nothing by means of supplies in the kitchen. I think we could have perhaps purchased a set up with plates and cups. It was very convenient and very reasonable for us.

I checked out a coffeemaker for my room but in the morning when I went to make coffee, I found the old filter and grounds all dried up in the coffeemaker. It was never even checked or cleaned before passing it off to me. I tried to clean it and use it but it made nasty tasting coffee. Very disappointing that no one checked it before giving it to me.

I liked the bed. Room had kitchen, but no dishes and no coffee pot. Coffee was available in the morning in the morning. Breakfast was slight with a muffin or an energy bar. It was very sad.

Staff is great , is very understanding and a wonderful. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that their breakfast sucks or it's just muffins granola bars and coffee with not very good creamer and they only put it out until 9:30 from 6:30 I definiteley think they need to put fresh fruit or something like that out

They claim the rooms come “equipped with everything thing you need” but this wasn’t the case. No coffee maker, no cooking items, no cups or plates or silverware, no bedding for the pull out sofa bed. Apparently, it’s available via request at check-in. However, this was not mentioned by the staff member who checked us in. When I did request it, they had mismatched sheets and a blanket but no pillows. The cooking and dining items were unavailable because housekeeping had left for the day without cleaning the remaining sets. There’s awful smells in every hallway. The bathroom is super tiny, the tub faucet was broken and the king bed was like sleeping on a piece of plywood. The living room furniture all had cigarette burns in them. The door had a gap under it and random guests would knock on the door at random hours. If you need a super cheap place and don’t care about having amenities; it might work for you.
