Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Middletown

Well maintained property, close to dining, easy parking.

Well, the ice machine worked. The rooms looked dingy and the lighting was inconvenient. The shower head was gross with no way to adjust the flow. The layout of the room was awful too. Who puts a TV on top of the closet? There was nothing in the vending machines and the elevator was broken making it difficult for my elderly father to get to his room. Very disappointing.

Staff were friendly and helpful. We did use the business hub and that was very convenient.

The staff was friendly and there were multiple dining options within walking distance. It was convenient being right off the exit and parking was close to the entrance. The room was clean yet it could use a little more up keep. The carpet was a bit worn and the sink was cracked. The breakfast was good with a variety of choices. I would say our overall stay was right in between good and excellent, so I'd say it was great.

The room is great and there are three restaurants nearby but nowhere to exercise, unless you’re a car.

Mud in hallway and on doors. I accidentally left a favorite coat-dress in my room, in the closet, and I've been told that every place was searched and it is not there. I am quite angry about this, and not satisfied with this answer.

Rooms are sparsely furnished. No table or desk lamp just overhead lighting. Single desk chair is only seating provided. Single elevator which went out of service during stay. Requested towel service not provided. All this for four nights at “only $700”.

The property was situated in a very convenient place, right on/off the highway. The exterior of the property and grounds were VERY clean and nice. Once you entered the hotel it was much less clean. Starting with the doors, elevators, which were covered with greasy fingerprints. The room was clean in that it had clean towels and seemingly clean sheets and made beds, but was NOT clean as you took even a cursory look. Stained shower curtain, corners in bathroom were filled with dirt/hair, and there was dirty towel hanging on the door and the mirror was not clean. We had no TV the entire stay. On check in we informed the front desk of the issue, they sent someone up and he couldn't fix it but he assured us that he would let the manager know? We went to our function, assuming that 'letting the manager know', meant someone would fix the problem or maybe apologize and or adjust our bill, but when we got back, late, at nigh, still no TV, nothing from the manager. We were too tired to even complain or ask that someone who couldn't do anything to fix the problem come back to our room. So, very disappointing. In the morning, when we went to get our 'free breakfast', it seems the hotel was not staffed and there was no breakfast put out. The one person who was at the desk was getting into an argument with a guest about it, so instead of adding to the situation we just left and bought coffee/breakfast at Dunkin, which was at the corner of the parking lot.

Excellent location about 45 minutes from Bethel. It was very clean. Waffles but no fruit at the free breakfast. I will stay here again when attending another show.

Cockroach found in room

We found bed bugs in our room, which forced us to check out early and get a room at a different more expensive hotel.

This hotel was in unacceptable condition. The room's bedside tables were sticky and had not been cleaned; the rug had big stains and some gum-like substance; the bathroom ceiling's paint was peeling, and the mirrors were tarnished. It was awful, completely unworthy of a national chain.

Lobby overwhelmingly smelled cigarettes. Property being used as temporary section 8 housing.

The room was so bad smell. Bed sheets had blood stains. All night people argued at the hallway and banging the door. It is not safe.

There was hair and dirt behind the bathroom door.

The room was in dire need of updating and replacing fixtures. The floor was cheap the chair had a huge stain on seat. ( looked sleezy) The beds were comfortable. The sink had all crackles and stains in it. We were willing to overlook because the room looked relatively clean otherwise. That was until the next morning when we saw a cockroach in the bathroom. We couldnt check out fast enough. We talked with front desk girl Meghan and relayed our concerns. She said she would relay to hotel manager. We still haven’t been notified by him. My advice stay away from this Microtel. Unfortunately for us now we will stay away from all Microtel.

For 250 a night I would have expected a cleaner facility. Carpets were filthy, the garbage in the hallway leading to our room looked like an outside garbage pail that they brought inside with the bag hanging out.

Not clean. First room I was given wasn’t even made up. Second room the bathroom sink didn’t drain

I could hear everything mt neighbors were saying word for word and they woke up a few times. Also my shower made a terrible loud noise.

The inly thing good here is the relative proximity to Legoland and some eating chains. They dont clean rooms daily. No fridge or microwave in the room. Very very basic.

Walls are PAPER THIN! So if you dont mind hearing people in the next room snoaring or people fighting on the phone its great for you. There are several resturants in the area like connected thru parking lot. But be prepared can hear EVERYTHING!

The check in process was okay but this trip was terrible. The wifi didn’t work the whole time we were here. The sinks need to be replaced. The coffee makers still had coffee from previous guest. The coffee machine in the lobby was out of coffee when we went down twice. The people who work here are kind and that was the only saving grace of this place.

Rooms are too small

Great, helpful staff. the walls are paper thin. I could hear my next door neighbor coughing and the toilet flushing. Peeling paint in the shower. Not a great place

We stayed for a trip to Legoland. The walls were filthy. The most uncomfortable mattress I've ever slept on my back is still recovering. The bathroom fixtures we broken. At on point I couldn't get the shower head to come on. The WiFi kept disconnecting. At breakfast one morning there were bugs crawling around the food and another morning there was something at the bottom of my coffee cup. Also very loud people upstairs and the next room it was like they were in my room.

The staff are super friendly and extremely accommodating!

We were checked-in into a room that was not ready. So we were switched to another room and my wife and I were getting ready for a wedding when someone else walked in the room because they were checked-in into the same room. My wife was naked when that happen and we were completely embarrassed. Here is the better part, the guy from the front desk knocked on the door and took us out of that room to put us in another room because the room was assigned to the people that walked in on us. It was the worse hotel experience I’ve ever encountered and do not recommend anyone to go there.

Late check in but great service

When we arrived at the Microtel Inn & Suites they didn’t have the room I reserved. Instead of admitting they overbooked the hotel, the Manager blamed Hotels.com, he claimed they didn’t send the correct room request, which was not true, I had a confirmation with the exact details. What made this worse was the manager’s complete lack of initiative in trying to make things right. No effort to help us find a comparable room elsewhere, no genuine apology, just a vague offer for a discount on a much smaller room that didn’t meet our needs. It felt like they were hoping we’d just take what we could get and not make a fuss. We ended up having to scramble for ourselves. It was incredibly stressful and disappointing. I understand overbooking happens, but the dishonesty and lack of customer care were unacceptable. I would definitely not stay here again. However, Hotels.com customer service was great, and they did give me a refund.

Check in was extremely slow and I filled out the Microtel pre-check in via the text that was sent by Microtel which said to do it to speed up the process. Also I felt unsafe as multiple drug addicts hanging around and making noise late into the night. There was a strong odor of marijuana in the lobby.

Horrible hotel. It is dirty and old. Poorly run. Was double charged and hotel from desk is immature, unprofessional and flat out rude. While at breakfast 10 police officers in full swat gear showed up with rifles out ready to engage looking for someone. When we checked in one room had a letter fr Child care services looking for the former hotel occupier. Disgusting and awful experience. Stay away.

Staff was super nice!

Check in was very slow. One person with a long line who was also going to and from the front desk helping other guests. Not good.

I traveled for a wedding. It was just for one night. I did enjoy my stay. A staff member by the name of Ethan was very very helpful. I don’t know if he was the manager but he should be. I got a room with no microwave or fridge but that was ok because it was just for one night.

They cancelled my booking within hours of my check in time. No assistance in finding any accommodation in any Wyndham hotels anywhere close. Just a ‘sorry, we’ve cancelled your booking’.(said there was room damage) I will never book a stay at Wyndham ever again.

Nice area, clean room. Will stay at a Microtel again.

Convenient location off highway and near Legoland. It’s set near walkable restaurants too.

A little run down but served it’s purpose for a 1-night stay after a concert at Bethel Woods. Outback Steakhouse and TGI Friday’s within walking distance.

Very nice property, room was great. Two minor disappointments: only 1 hanger in the closet, I arrived at 10:30 PM and was tired so I told the front desk at checkout. Breakfast skimpy. No hot breakfast, toast and dry cereal, just and coffee. I will stay here again.

Everything was fine except poor breakfast menus. Quality need to be improved. Coffee milk not available. Reception area needs improvement. Overall 3 stars.

I would not recommend the hotel because they did not clean the room for 3 days even when requested to do so. The free breakfast selections were very limited and the coffee was terrible.

The check in was smooth, the person at the desk was super nice and even hooked my kids up with a special mini figure since they were being surprised in the morning with going to Legoland for the first time. The room was nice. Room was clean, and we really liked the non-carpeted floors. Breakfast was disappointing with little variety. I expected more for the cost of stay at the hotel. Check out was simple. 3.5 out of 5.

Property was a pleasant surprise. Good area, bright and clean. Room was in great shape and good size for a family of 4 spending a couple of days at Legoland (just 8 mins down the road). Great help from front desk staff. Breakfast area could have been tidier, especially later in the morning - and many of the breakfast items were run out or removed early it seemed. All things considered, was a great value and exactly what we needed for this occasion.

Decent hotel for the price. Nice area with other hotels. Breakfast lacks eggs and meats, however has other items like waffles, cereal, and bagels. Close to Wallkill N.Y. for visiting Farms.

The property area was clean and very pleasing. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. The breakfast was fresh. The room was ok. It was very clean. The only problem was with the appearance. Although it was very clean, the room, specifically the bathroom, needed some maintenance. The sink showed signs of being cracked, the toilet handle was cracked, and the shower was in need of a new seal due to constant leaking. Other than those minor details, my stay at this location was very pleasant. If I'm again in the area, I would not hesitate in staying there once more.

Not very clean, I have seen some paper pieces on the room floor. Faucets weren’t wiped. I was first given a joining room with a door inside, I could hear everything. They changed it. No eggs in breakfast only bread and packaged fake food. No silverware or porcelain plates. Everything is one time use.
