Holiday Inn Express Mount Pleasant- Scottdale by IHG

There is nothing to do in this town so a smart TV or some movie channels would have been nice. There’s no pool so that wasn’t an option and many of the Armstrong TV channels didn’t work.

I picked holiday inn express 10 min away the pictures had a pool and hot tub. Somehow i was booked at different one 35 min from our destination and no pool. Ended up leaving after one night will never use expedia again

We only stayed here 1 night but I was very pleased. The employees were quick & friendly at check in & out. The beds were comfortable, shower had great water pressure. They had these fresh cinnamon buns at breakfast that my kids loved (as well as the normal yogurts, cereal, toast, muffins, bagels, pancakes, eggs, etc). We didn’t have time for the pool so I can’t comment on that.

Value, convenient. The property was not as well maintained as expected with other Holiday Inns. Carpeted hallways, especially the elevator carpet was FILTHY.

Room heat smelled like a burned up blow dryer. Very dated hotel . Carpets stained everywhere. Disappointed in our stay

The property is excellent. The breakfast had everything you could possibly want and it was very clean. About the room, the bed was so comfortable and the room was very nice and spacious. The only complaint I have is that upon entering the bathroom, the toilet seat was dirty and I had to clean it and the bathtub had stains in it that couldn’t come off and it had been repaired in the area near the drain and it looked awful. Finding the bathroom in this state was not pleasant. Otherwise everything else was spot on and I would definitely come back here as the property was otherwise excellent.

Quiet, felt safe and staff was very helpful and kind. Breakfast was very good. What I didn't like was the property was below in terms of maintenance, carpets were very dirty and very stained in the elevator and hallways. They had to switched us to another room due, once we were already unpacked and sleeping, we heard a loud noise of water dripping in the bathroom. When we checked, there was water coming down from the floor above right into our bathroom toilet. It was considerable and towels, toilet paper and toilet were drenched. We reported it immediately and were lucky that another room was available, but nonetheless inconvenient.

Clean room, friendly staff

I paid $170 to stay the night here passing through on a road trip and what a rip off. Our room was filthy, there was mold growing on the vent of the ac unit, the shower head was covered in mold. My kids feet were black within minutes of walking in the room. There were webs in the corners of the walls and visible signs of water damage throughout the room. To walk into a room after paying close to $200 and feel like you are sleeping in filth is extremely disappointing.

We have stayed at this Holiday Inn three times over the years, and my extended family has stayed here many times--perhaps a dozen--through the years. It is well located for us, and in the beginning it was very clean, but this last time we were surprised by how dingy it has become: our room the comforter was dirty and we had to exchange it...the sheets were questionable...on one day we had no cleaning at all...the carpets are stained .... the blinds did not work properly ... the refrigerator did not work and we lost food as a result ... on the positive side the desk folks were very nice and helpful and the breakfast room was well run. Our complaint is focused on room cleanliness and the cleanliness of the public spaces.

It’s a place to stay. That’s it, you don’t have many options if you’re needing to stay somewhere in the area. The hotel room was clean enough not to leave but I could NOT make myself use the shower as the floor of the tub was absolutely filthy, there were little black spots all over the place along the seal points of the shower walls, and toilet. The area where the keurig was had some type of brown sticky substance along the wall and the keurig itself was filthy so I decided against utilizing that feature. There were also ants in the bed! I know some types of ants just come and go with the seasons but yikes that wasn’t a pleasant sensation. I asked for makeup wipes and a toothbrush to be brought to the room and was told they were short staffed but would see about bringing it down. An hour passed and I called again with no answer this time so I just had to find something else to make do with. After I left the room I came back later to a notice stating they do not have the staff to send someone with individual requests to rooms so I would have to go to the front desk for any needed toiletries. Also around 12 midnight I was woken by someone banging on my door repeatedly. At first I thought it was next door but when it wouldn’t stop I had to dress and go see who it was. There was a drunk guest demanding I open the door who only left after I told her I wasn’t who she was looking for. My room was right down the hall from the lobby but no one came to help. Not a great stay.

Room was very dirty!! Sheets, shower curtain, carpet, etc. were all very dirty/need replaced. Bathroom sink and tub were clogged. Breakfast seating is filthy! Will NOT stay at this hotel again! Staff were friendly. Only positive note on this hotel stay.

Toilet dirty, Not overly friendly front office, fire alarm started beeping at 4/5am had to go down to front desk to get someone to come up and remove alarm. Hotel phone in room was not working and dirty

The room was clean and staff was nice. We were only there for a brief overnight and used it as a pit stop on our way to Univ of Pitt. We were on the ground floor and the window did not have an actual curtain. Instead it was covered with a smaller piece of fabric. Our only complaint is that there should have been an actual hotel curtain

The room was adequate. Few amenities. Staff was nice AC /heat was good. The hotel needs a remodel and reception needs professional, business dressed staff. We stay here every time we visit MP and have for years and we agree that the reception staff is always scruffy looking and dressed for a sporting event not work. The bathroom shower was not adequate for a handicapped person. How could we have sat on the shower bench and managed the hand held shower at the other end of the tub. The hose was too short and anyway how to manipulate the water temp and flow?!

Manager canceled my reservation without any notification. She also lied about why it was canceled initially saying hotels.com canceled it. After further investigation she finally admitted she has cancelled it and to give me my money back. She was extremely rude to me and I will never return to this location.

I called ahead (at 11:00 am) told the front desk I was in town for a funeral and asked if we could have an earlier checkin. I needed to be at the funeral home at 1:30. The front desk said they “should have a room by 12:30.” When I got there at 12:30, I was told they didn’t have a room yet. I was told room x & y were clean but had no towels. The hotel seemed practically empty, there were limited cars in the lot. How long does it take to get one room ready!

I had a room reserved a week in advance. The Confirmation Number was received. My credit card was charged immediately. Upon arrival, my reservation was cancelled because of overbooking. When I ask the desk clerk what I should do, she just told me to go to another town and find a different motel. I depended on Expedia. NOT AGAIN!!! To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

They were also taking emails of people checking out to send receipts later. Still haven’t received mine. The first day we went to breakfast around 9am on Saturday and found all the hot food was gone and no sign of it being replenished. On our second day around 8:15 on Sunday, we go to breakfast to find NO hot breakfast, just empty clean pans. We checked at the front desk and found out that the manager just didn’t show up that day, so they could only have cold breakfast items. The front desk was being run by housekeeping as there wasn’t any backup for the manager who didn’t show up. They were doing the best they could do but didn’t even have access the computer system. We already have plans to return in November and hope the owners have different/better management when we return.

The staff were AMAZING! We had a lot of problems with room keys. I went through about, 12 room keys for one weekend. They stopped working and I would be locked out of the hotel room. They also gave some guests room keys that went to other hotel rooms. I believe it wasn’t the hotel’s fault the first day because it was the same day as the huge internet hack that affected all the airlines.

Got to the hotel and stated our reservation was cancelled and was not notified. 2 hours away for a wedding and no where to stay. Ridiculous no one notified me.

Went to visit family and it was conveniently located for that. It was affordable, clean, and the staff was friendly. I would stay here again.

Stayed over Thanksgiving holiday for two nights. Have stayed there before. Convenient to both Scottdale and Mt. Pleasant. Right off major highway exit and convenient to the PA Turnpike. Clean. Good service. Free breakfast.

A bit tucked away and tricky to find entrance to

Clean & good service. The mattresses were wonderful for three in our group but too hard for one. The air conditioner was noisy in our room. There was not enough seating in the breakfast areas, so many people were taking their food to the lobby or back to their rooms. Good location for travelers passing through. We would use this hotel again.

Overall the stay was decent. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. Cold eggs and bacon was almost not cooked at all. Gravy but no Biscuits. Pancake machine was broken. No potatoes or sausage. Have stayed at multiple IHG Properties and breakfast is usually pretty good. Not here.

The front staff was the only reason we stayed the night. The room was dirty, mold in the bathroom and killed two cockroaches. The breakfast was bad. The muffins and bagels were stale. The coffee was bitter, and the pancake maker was broken.

Everything was just great! From room comfort to friendly employees to a great breakfast. I’ll definitely stay here again.

The room and staff were great. We were on a tight schedule and we're frustrated when breakfast was NOT available at 6:00AM as promised.
