We had a great fall get away at The Strand. Our room was clean and comfy. Breakfast had great hot options as well as yogurt & fruit. The small hotel bar was friendly and convenient for a night cap. The heated pool and large hot tub were great on a cooler day and the beach was clean and beautiful.

Hotel is nice, lots of amenities, nice breakfast, customer service was good. Hotel has aged so the architecture isn’t modern but doable. Definitely would stay again. Plus you have free access to their sister property at Breakers Resort which is more suitable for families with kids.

The breakfast and the bar in the hotel!! The one thing that was disappointing was one of the only 2 elevators was out most of our stay and was difficult to get up and down with so many people

Everything was fine up until our car was broken into in the parking deck on the hotels property. Our dashcam was stolen as well as other things. Hotel should do a better job with security or warning customers that it’s unsafe.

Nice ocean front hotel. Easy to navigate the property. Clean room, breakfast, small bar area. Friendly staff and if you're there on a football Sunday you have to sit around the bar with Tyanne the bartender. She was hilarious, engaging with the customers, laughing, we had fun. Overall we had a great stay and would stay here again.

Very friendly staff no matter what time it was. Restaurant/bar downstairs. Beautiful outdoor lounge area. Only real issue was the 2 elevators for 19 floors which made it a hassle most times. Overall very good place to stay for the money and worth going back to.

We stayed in an ocean front room, which had a great view. The pool and hot tub were at the right temperatures and clean. The lounge chair area was very pleasant and offered both shady and sunny spots. We also liked the outdoor gas fire places with comfortable seating.

Tiles were falling off the wall in the bathroom. I had to call maintenance to replace burnt out bulbs in the bathroom. I had to call the front desk because there was black residue inside of the tub. And the worst thing yet. My wife was killing roaches in the kitchen in our room. The roaches were crawling out from underneath the stove and baby roaches were in the silverware drawers. Definitely won’t be coming back.

The room was filthy. The carpet was damp and smelly. The bathroom had mold all around the outside of the tub. There is popcorn ceiling above the shower head and every time we took showers, more popcorn ceiling would fall down. They never gave us new towels, I had to walk to front desk to get them. We ran out of toilet paper and, again, had to go to front desk for more. Tried to talk to front desk about our issues and was left waiting 10 minutes while she was on an obvious personal call. Just awful customer service. Would not recommend.

The ocean view was spectacular! We were only on the 5th floor, and the balconies (all 3) were perfectly positioned so that nothing was obstructed. The king size bed was equally impressive. Bathroom and kitchen were very clean.

Beach view very limited from Queen Efficiency room. Very nice pool and cushioned lounge chairs facing ocean. Some were shaded by small palm trees. Easy access to beach. Beds comfortable and clean linens. BUT the rooms are old! And very small! Hardly enough room to walk between bed and dresser for a skinny person. Table was useless. No room to sit down. Carpet was very worn and smelly. Made whole room smell like dirty socks.

The room was extremely dirty. Make up and stains. Dusty and dirt everywhere. Gross. The tub had paint on the bottom. Where they didn’t replace it properly. I’m sorry, I don’t want to shower and have my pores open up and get lead poisoning. I just saying. Then they didn’t take the money out the account. It was supposed to be taken out before check in. Never happened. I give them the card at check in. They swiped the card. The day of check out, they call me to say your charge didn’t go through. How? And saying how would you like to pay. I don’t. I dont know how or why a hotel wouldn’t take the money and that’s on them. The lounge wasn’t all that and the breakfast horrible. The juiced tasted funny. The parking lot is horrible. No disabled parking within distance. And I couldn’t even get into the parking lot because it was so packed and cramped. Nope, never again.

When we first got to our room it was very small and dirty. There were brown stains on the carpet by the fridge and there was black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. When we spoke to maintenance about the mold we were told that housekeeping would come and clean it, but they never showed.The air conditioner started to smell like it was burning and smoking, So we called and maintenance said he didn’t know why and proceeded to vacuum it out and fixed it. The next night we told maintenance that there was a massive cockroach outside the elevator door and he told us “it is only a water bug,” but then later that night a cockroach ran across our door in our hotel room. We had a toddler in the room and it took hotel staff over two hours to change our room. They originally tried telling us that we would have to leave so they can get Orkin to spray and then WE WOULD HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE SAME ROOM THAT WAS SPRAYED WITH PESTICIDES! After my husbands arguing they upgraded us to a condo with no extra charge. Overall it was a terrible experience! The pool and breakfast were amazing but the mold and roaches ruined it. Do NOT recommend!!!

The room was clean and had all the basic amenities. I loved that the ocean was visible from my bed. The hallways do look a little old, and the walls are pretty thin so it could get a little loud at times but it wasn't too bad. The beach is accessible from the garden area which is really convenient. The breakfast buffet was adequate and there are some great restaurants within 5mins walking distance. I had a late flight, but they let me use the amenities downstairs after I checked out of my room. Definitely recommend, will come back

The common spaces were average but the rooms need a complete refurbishment. The first night we had to request to be moved because the rug in the room had a pungent odor. The front desk staff was helpful and was able to change our room. Unfortunately we went from one odor to another. The hotel states no smoking but allows smoking on the balcony. Our room wreaked of smoke from the room next door. We put a towel on the floor in front of our door but that only helped minimally. The pool was nice, the hot tub didn’t have the jets working and the towels were very thin. The best part of the hotel is its location on the beach and proximity to the airport. Overall we were disappointed and wouldn’t choose this property again.

The pricing was very good. we stayed on the 5th floor with a really good view. The door was tricky as we had to really put our weight into it to get it to open and slam it in order for it to shut. the hotel is older but it is clean. and with the exception of the man who berated me for five minutes because I didn't see him trying to exit at the same time I was going to retrieve my luggage. I don't think he was a guest and suspect he was cutting thru from the beach. All in all it was a pleasant stay.

The room was on an upper floor on the oceanside, giving us a fabulous view of the beach. And we were still able to hear the rush of the waves all night long -- a bonus -- without all the random "people" noises. The room was quite comfortable with a kitchen at the entrance, overlooking the living room/dining room space. The first balcony was off the living room/dining room space. The only drawback to this particular balcony was the view of the neighboring hotel's balconies. The bedroom also had a balcony which was far more private. Sitting out there, you did not see the neighboring hotels. You only see beachfront. Totally fantastic. Breakfast was the typical hotel hot breakfast -- nothing outstanding but edible. While there were a few places to visit within easy walking distance, the majority were best accessed via car. Having the parking garage right across the street from The Strand was a big bonus. The room was on an upper floor on the oceanside, giving us a fabulous view of the beach. And we were still able to hear the rush of the waves all night long -- a bonus -- without all the random "people" noises. The room was quite comfortable with a kitchen at the entrance, overlooking the living room/dining room space. The first balcony was off the living room/dining room space. The only drawback to this particular balcony was the view of the neighboring hotel's balconies. The bedroom also had a balcony which was far more private. Sitting out there, you did not see the neighboring hotels. You only see beachfront. Totally fantastic. Breakfast was the typical hotel hot breakfast -- nothing outstanding but edible. While there were a few places to visit within easy walking distance, the majority were best accessed via car. Having the parking garage right across the street from The Strand was a big bonus. Beds comfortable and clean linens. BUT the rooms are old! And very small! Hardly enough room to walk between bed and dresser for a skinny person. Table was useless. No room to sit down. Carpet was very worn and smelly. Made whole room smell like dirty socks.

Fridge leaked and would not keep cold. Tv only worked after maintenance in room 3 times and then switch on wall and light on to work. Phone in room needed maintenance. Shower had a tricke of water and then a maid had to explain how to turn water on! Good housekeeping service. Very small room with all amenities crammed into it!

We went there on an anniversary trip. Check-in was a hassle because for most of the time there was only one clerk, and she was dealing with a problem. Finally, a manager came out, but we spent >30 minutes checking in. The room itself is an efficiency apartment. It is large and comfortable, with two balconies overlooking the beach. The carpet had some stains and pulls from a previous occupant, but otherwise everything was in very good shape. The picture is the view from the balcony. We used the pool and hot tub. The pool was perhaps a little small for the number of people, but then you have an entire ocean 50 yards away. The hot tub was nice. Breakfast was quite good, although a larger dining room would have been nice. We took breakfast back to the room one day because it was so crowded. The staff did a pretty good job of keeping the food stocked. Parking is in a garage across the street. There is very little room to maneuver because the lanes are laid out in right angles, but cars need arcs to make turns. Bring a small car! The location is very nice, right on the beach, with some good restaurants in walking distance. Overall, we had a good time and would stay here again.

The parking garage is across the street and several cars had their windows busted and we're broken into while we were there. There are no cameras in the garage or security to secure the garage. The staff showed no concern for those who had the cars broken into. The rooms smell like mold and mildew. The breakfast is the same thing daily and the staff is more focused on their phone than washing tables inorder to let people have a clean table to sit at. The bar and grill in side the hotel is over priced and the employee behind the bar was very rude and acted as if they didn't like their job. I was charged by Expedia and by the hotel for my hotel stay.it was hell trying to get my money back

Friendly staff and if you're there on a football Sunday you have to sit around the bar with Tyanne the bartender. She was hilarious, engaging with the customers, laughing, we had fun. The view is amazing and the amenities are lovely however the girl who checked me in at front desk should NOT work in service industry. She was rude, unhelpful & completely uninformative re how to receive items needed in the room. Additionally, the description of the room was NOT what we were told when making reservations. Housekeeping is not provided on a daily basis and you will need to ask for additional towels. The beds were very comfortable and looked clean. Breakfast was good & bar personnel were so personable. We especially liked being able to get hotel transport to their sister resort…The Breakers. It was a good trip but it needs an overhaul of the front desk personnel.

We stayed for just one night in a 2 bedroom suite. We had a beautiful view of the beach. Bed was comfortable. I wish we had a few more days, as I really liked this location. Good breakfast. Very friendly staff. Easy, short walk direct beach access. We would definitely stay again if we are in Myrtle Beach.

Absolutely loved our stay at The Strand! Great location and just a mile walk to the Boardwalk. Pool and hot tub were nice and we were told we could use the indoor pool at their sister hotel The Breakers. We went and checked it out and it had a nice lazy river! There were comfortable loungers to lay on and gaze at the ocean and 2 fire pits as well for the cool nights! Would absolutely choose to stay here again!

It wasn’t the worst place I’ve ever stayed but the staff at the front desk was very unfriendly. The bathrooms were outdated and there was literally urine on the seat when we arrived. Plus no where in the hotel is heated except your room. Cold hallways,elevators, and common areas. Breakfast was disgusting. Not great
