Super disappointing that the pool was closed the week of July 4th. We had children and main reason we choose hotel was for the pool. Would have been nice if something was offered for not having access to the main hotel amenity. Other than that, breakfast with omelette bar was nice service offering. Bar reception in the evening was nice. Parking was a disaster with no on side outside of valet available. Garage across the street had limited spots so with holiday travelers parking was tight.

My room was supposed to have robes so I didn’t bring one with me and was provided . The parking was very inconvenient. You either paid additional money for valet or parked on the street in an unfamiliar area. Rooms were very nice and clean but they need to update pool area and parking .

The hotel was very nice. Quiet, clean, comfortable. Love the 2 rooms concept. Pool and exercise room were nice. The only problem was that the 3 elevators they have only one or two would work at a time. Very annoying and wait times were up to 10 minutes before you were able to get on an elevator. The perks were nice. Breakfast included and an evening snack and drink time. Overall I would recommend especially if you are going to a concert at the civic center as it’s an easy walk away.

Room was excellent. The elevator experience made the stay rough as for whatever reason there was a log jam of people trying to use the elevators and literally was a queue line to get on the elevator.

Didn’t have the handicap accessible room we reserved. Then they decided to book a pageant and a sports convention simultaneously so we had children running the halls all night long screaming and acting out (great job parents!). The elevators took about 20 minutes on average to arrive. Don’t get me started on the parking at the Lee st garage where people go on milk cartons after they enter. What a mess. Charleston is a joke and Embassy Suites is an embarrassment

Nice place. Time to replace the mattresses. Parking was too far and to charge for it was crazy, you need a back entrance. Pool was closed. Good breakfast, very nice Staff.

Super friendly staff, and clean rooms. Free happy hour drinks and snacks!!! Free breakfast is awesome!!! Close to the amazing Capital Market and Historic Downtown District. Parking is a bit annoying especially knowing other hotels in the ate offer free onsite parking. Would have given 5 stars, but the parking really is annoying.

The hotel staff were very friendly upon arrival and the offsite parking was right across the street. The hotel looked very nice and the our room was spacious. We got in late so their restaurant was already closed but we were able to cross the street for some dinner at Outback. It wasn’t until we were ready for bed that we came across some inconveniences. My son noticed what looked like blood on the fitted sheet to his bed. I tried calling the front desk but the AI operator told me I needed to go down to the front desk. I went down to request a clean fitted sheet. She would have the security guard bring us one to the room. When I made it up to the room we also discovered no sheets for the pull out couch and only one pillow. I then proceeded back down stairs to the desk to request the additional items so we could finally go to bed. The guard brought the items in a timely manner but the additional pillow has a stain in it so we didn’t feel like it was clean. After the beds were made out family of six were able to lay our heads down for bed. Although I was happy for the six of us to be able to sleep in one room, queen beds would have been a lot better then full size bed for two people to share and if I had a choice 4 pillows per bed not 3. Just a comparison to other hotels we have stayed at. The pool was also closed and we had to head out asap in the morning so we couldn’t enjoy breakfast but it looked very nice.

This is not the normal Embassy Suites. It was dirty. Found a cookie on the floor that had been there a while. Had to ask for some type of air cleaner because the smell was so bad. They need to demolish it and start over.

Well I really wanted to like this hotel. It came highly recommended to me from a family member. However things started falling apart soon after checking in. I was given a dirty room as I figured out when there were piles of bed sheets and trash all over the room in a dirty bathroom. I kindly asked the maid to tidy it up and she was super nice. Her name was Stacy and she was the best thing about this hotel without a doubt. She cleaned it without complaining and we chatted a bit and laughed at the situation. Then the manager came up and was all over her for not doing things in particular order and followed her around like a lost puppy. I don't know about you but if somebody interferes with my workflow it's kind of hard to focus. The manager apologized and said he would give me a drink credit for the situation, because a dirty room should have never been rented. However that drink credit never materialized it was just an empty promise. I carried on about my day and woke up the next day for breakfast. The front desk staff at 5:00 told me I had to pay $55 penalty if I checked out before 11:00 a.m., even though it was my checkout day. She checked me out before I had a chance to get stuff out of my room. Another manager had to come and help with that situation. Additionally the parking is across the four-lane road and is very difficult to empty your room and have your car nearby to check to check out, with a 10 minute tow zone. I can't imagine ever going back here.

Got to our room, floor was not swept, chip crumbs everywhere and a finger nail.Hair in the tub. Front desk gave us 10 points which is nothing. They made us feel like we were inconveniencing them to fix the room we paid for! Thank god for the cleaning lady who helped us. We will never be back. I cannot believe as big of a business this is, this is how we were treated.

Spacious and clean suite. We enjoyed our stay. Would have really enjoyed a hot tub in the pool area and maybe a better quality blanket in the bedding pack for the sofa sleeper. All in all, a great place to stay. Would stay again.

Our room was disappointing because there were holes in the wall, AC is loud and rattling, shelf in bedroom broken. Bathroom drains into entire bathroom. I would NOT recommend this hotel.

This hotel has a visible view of the lobby from all rooms which makes it a very loud environment. There are no walls to separate the noise from downstairs dining and bar and lobby from the sounds hitting on your door. Really not enjoyable and super loud

Potatoes and biscuits were soggy, as if they were setting around in a steam bath for a long time. Bartender was extremely nice. Thenstaff was extremely nice. The room was busted up a bit. Stains in tub and on the walls. We tried to use the pullout couch, but it appeared the sheets hasnt been changed in months on it. Only one light worked in the bathroom. Pillows were comfortable. We were happy with the size of the room, it just needs some TLC.

Overall, great stay in Charleston WV. Spacious room and very comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Though the property is outdated it was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend.

Rooms are very quiet even though downtown. The rooms are VERY spacious. Could use a little updating, but still nice. No fan in the bathroom so waiting for the mirror to defog slowed my morning process. Should let patrons know that feather pillows are in the rooms so allergies are avoided.

Reserved a room 5 days in advance. Upon arrival they stated they gave out room to someone else. I reserved a room with a king bed and had to spend my anniversary sleeping in 2 doubles. The staff was unwilling to accommodate. Was also not willing to offer a refund to go elsewhere. So I was basically forced to pay for a room that I did not reserve. I will not be staying at an embassy suites ever again. Nor will I recommend them or Expedia to anyone if this is going to be the ultimate result.

I showed up to find out that the property was sold out and they would not honor my reservation. The manager on site blamed me for having booked through Expedia. He said he had been trying to call me - but my phone showed no missed calls. He had no explanation as to why he didn't leave a voice message. He tried to put me at an affiliated property which was an absolute dump.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The staff is really what set this place apart. They had 120 check-ins the day we arrived and yet everyone was friendly, helpful, and efficient. We were sad to find the pool closed, but again, the staff exemplified what hospitality is all about and offered other ways for us to have a 5 star experience, and did it upfront, happily, and without making us feel like an imposition. There’s much to say about the whole place, but what’s important is this: I encountered directly, at least 7 staff, all of whom were exceptional. Embassy Suites has positioned itself first on my list of hotels after this stay, and I hope all our road trips have them along our way!

Well I really wanted to like this hotel. It came highly recommended to me from a family member. However things started falling apart soon after checking in. I was given a dirty room as I figured out when there were piles of bed sheets and trash all over the room in a dirty bathroom. I kindly asked the maid to tidy it up and she was super nice. Her name was Stacy and she was the best thing about this hotel without a doubt. She cleaned it without complaining and we chatted a bit and laughed at the situation. Then the manager came up and was all over her for not doing things in particular order and followed her around like a lost puppy. I don't know about you but if somebody interferes with my workflow it's kind of hard to focus. The manager apologized and said he would give me a drink credit for the situation, because a dirty room should have never been rented. However that drink credit never materialized it was just an empty promise. I carried on about my day and woke up the next day for breakfast. The front desk staff at 5:00 told me I had to pay $55 penalty if I checked out before 11:00 a.m., even though it was my checkout day. She checked me out before I had a chance to get stuff out of my room. Another manager had to come and help with that situation. Additionally the parking is across the four-lane road and is very difficult to empty your room and have your car nearby to check to check out, with a 10 minute tow zone. I can't imagine ever going back here.

The staff at this hotel were great! The highlight was the breakfast (which was phenomenal and included in our stay) and the valet. It was the perfect place to have our pit stop during a long road trip.

Staff was exceptional, especially Jerry the bellman/shuttle driver. Nice downtown location, within a few blocks of numerous restaurants, shops, and city plaza. Great breakfast and reception/happy hour, too. We'll be back.

We always stay here when we are in town. This time was less than ideal. Valet parking has been added since we were last here. People were abandoning their cars to check in blocking the entrance and a space for persons to just be dropped off. It was total chaos and the persons performing the valet were not friendly at all. Nor did they help prevent persons from abandoning their cars and moving along. Additionally as someone who comes here and is their place of choice it was not clear where the parking was. On a side note the information on the phone to tell me what to dial to call the desk for help was missing and each bed had one less pillow. Even the pull out bed had only one pillow. :( And the freezer was so full of ice you could hardly use it. These are all small things but it makes one question the care to the attention to detail. Who is overseeing the place. It is slowly going down hill. We will seek a new place to stay moving forward.

Overall, hotel was pretty nice of the area. The main lobby is beautiful and massive. Very convenient to get in and out. Definitely will stay again. They do not have parking spots and have to park in garage. This about $16 a night so prepare for that. And it’s on the side of the building not attached so you have to walk a bit. Our room smelled like smoke in a nonsmoking room. They tried to hide the smell but was also bearable to sleep in. Bathroom had mold spots and not great but decent. Beds were super comfy! They are definitely working small improvements to each room so overall not bad.

The hotel itself was fine. The common areas were bright and lovely. Our room needed an update. It was pretty outdated-bathroom was dark. The staff was all friendly and they absolutely nailed breakfast-it was amazing. The parking here is awful. The parking garage is about half a block away, not the one that backs up to the hotel, and no easy way to get back to the hotel so you have to carry all your stuff from the car. There are also no exterior signage on the parking garage to indicate that hotel guests should park there. The first Embassy Suites sign is about 100 feet inside the garage and you just have to be looking in order to see it. The outside of the hotel itself is taken care of. The immediate community surrounding the hotel is pretty run down. We stayed here on a Saturday night and there were very few people about. The mall seems pretty empty. The JCPenney across the street from the hotel is empty and closed. It was run down to the point where I felt uncomfortable walking from the parking garage to the hotel with our stuff.

The Embassy Suites - Charleston WV- is an older hotel, but is well kept. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Our trip was quick so we did not have time to explore but driving in it did not seem as though there was much to walk to other than the outback steakhouse next-door. For a one night business trip this hotel was perfect and I would recommend it.

Super friendly staff, and clean rooms. Free happy hour drinks and snacks!!! Free breakfast is awesome!!! Close to the amazing Capital Market and Historic Downtown District. Parking is a bit annoying especially knowing other hotels in the ate offer free onsite parking. Would have given 5 stars, but the parking really is annoying.

Dinner in restaurant quite disappointing. Food tasted average and presentation showed no effort to make it look appetizing. Portions were small. Also, breakfast closed at 9:00 am, which is way too early and we saw several guests who were turned away at a couple minutes late.

Room was great. The breakfast bar, the food was COLD!!! Such a let down! We were really looking forward to the breakfast bar. Staff was kind and helpful. I seriously didn't like the valet parking. It was way too expensive and it was totally confusing to use.

Mixed feelings about this hotel. On one hand the location was good, the room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was great. Lots of choice including made to order omelettes. Now the negatives. Unloading our vehicle was awful with a complete jam at the entrance and the parking is round the block. The biggest issue was the alarm went off about 4 times after midnight and we were eventually told it was because of some humidity issue. A real lack of communication for all the guests meant we all were on the main balcony not having a clue. Finally I have mixed feelings on the pool. On one hand it was clean but on the other it was too cold with a real lack of seating around it

The property is tired. The staff seemed blasé. They were bored and/or indifferent. They were just going thru the motions, or they did know how to effervesce, which is something have seen in most Embassy properties.
