It was 108 degrees and for some reason there was a fireplace on continuously, a huge waste of gas and energy. and despite 2 conventions and a major wedding, only 2 of 4 elevators were working over the weekend. The free shuttle was helpful though.

Didn't like the fact i paid 100 us over 4 days for parking. The hotel should comp it. The lot is attached to the hotel but isnt affiliated with Marriott. 24 USD for a 2 hour parking is ridiculous and overpriced. Otherwise, the Marriott Downtown Richmond was awesome. Super friendly staff and Lucia is a great cleaning lady, super nice and a great worker.

The valet parking was very chaotic. Both times we called for our car we received a text saying it was delivered. The car was no where to be found. They brought down the wrong car the first time and the second time our car arrived 20 minutes after our friends car even though we ordered the cars at the same time.

Room was nice, but half the elevators were out of service during our stay. Also, my room card stopped working before we checked out, even though it was before the checkout deadline.

The stay was great. The amenities were not aligned with what is on the website. There was a pool listed with spa. I asked the front desk personal and they said it hasn't been available since covid. Also the day I arrived there was some type of wedding going on and most guest were on the 18th floor. all the decorations they has on their garments (small tiny items and shiny strings) were all over the floor. The staff did not vacuum the floor at all the entire week I was there. And yet for some amazing reason, your staff has gone above and beyond everywhere else.

Hotel no longer has a pool, after recent renovation. Also shuttle only runs from 7pm to midnight. Biggest issues are that during a convention weekend, the restruant and hotel did not have enough staff. Restruant also lacked anything except half and half for coffee, No Milk, or milk alternatives.

When I got out of the shower, the first towel I grabbed, after I unfolded it, found it to be covered in vomit. I called downstairs, and received MP pass and 5000 in Marriott awards. My entire stay should have been free after finding a vomit covered towel. And BTW, having MP pass, gave me a free breakfast, that every other Marriott does for free, anyway. Not a big deal. Actually ridiculous. And every single housekeeper I tried to talk to, didn’t speak a word of English. Illegals. You hire illegals. That’s against the law. I was nice about all this, because I had already paid to stay there. Never again.

The property is great, and the staff is excellent. However, there is no area on the guest room floors that feels refreshing due to issues with the HVAC system. I had my AC set to 66 degrees, yet the room never cooled below 72 degrees, making it uncomfortably warm. Outside of the air conditioning concerns, the property itself is decent.

Not a bad stay. Only two issues that I had was that the room would not get cold regardless how low you set it and the glass sliding doors wouldn’t not stay close in the shower which contributed to having water everywhere on the floor.

One of the reasons we chose the Marriott was the location across the street, connected by a walkway to the Convention Center even though the hotel walkway was closed. The lobby was quite spacious and comfortable. It was nice that so many guests were able to congregate in the lobby during the evening without getting rowdy or out of control. We were excited to have MClub privileges however, it seemed that EVERYONE had access and jumped on the few hors d'oeuvres that were available. Most guests just ordered food from Valentino's which was delicious and highly recommended.The free water in the MClub came in handy since it was about 100 degrees with extreme humidity. The service was extremely accomodating, giving us late checkout since my husband was feeling ill. We are Bonvoy members so that may have something to do with it. The room was standard king with pullout sofa, nothing extra special. Our first night, the shower had only scalding hot water from the main showerhead. We were able to use the wand to adjust the water temperature without burning ourselves. Once we figured that out, it was a wonderful, clean shower. The next day it was much better. Overall, it was a decent hotel that I would stay at again mainly because I know what I'm getting ahead of time. I felt safe and there were no bedbugs.

My room was right next to the elevators and they made a raucously loud noise all night long. I slept terribly. While there were many other great features about this hotel this one negative issue overshadows all of it.

Large convention-style hotel, but fairly quiet in terms of hotel and outside noise (see fan noise comment following). Room was very clean but spartan. Only one comfortable chair. Loud A/C fan which we weren't able to turn off. A/C controls were nonobvious. Hotel sent up housekeeping staff quickly when requested who did turn off A/C fan. Hotel has automatic shade system but like A/C no explanation on use (ultimately I was able to use and it worked well). Front desk and other staff very friendly. Restaurant was very busy. Despite overlooking a main thoroughfare, the room was extraordinarily quiet, extremely clean and quite up-to-date. The front desk teammates were exceptionally friendly & definitely set the tone that your stay should be flawless, which it was!

The hotel was an excellent choice for business travelers. My stay was overnight in preparation for a business meeting. Upon arrival, check-in was seamless and the valet parking was convenient. The rooms are well-appointed with modern fixtures. There are several eateries such as Starbucks on the premises as well as a restaurant. I will definitely patronize this hotel again.

I booked and prepaid for a room to attend an event at the convention center. I arrived after the check-in time of 4pm and was told my room was not ready and the valet parking was full. I’d did not get a notification that my room was ready until 9:30pm for an event that started at 6pm. I ended up parking 2 blocks away and changing in the car. Highly disappointed!

So have stay at this property several times and this last time was super horrible as a Marriott member. Upon checking in (after check in time) the room that was scheduled to be had was not available. No worries there so not a large problem. But then we were put on a floor that they put and entire wedding party/family on and at 4am the party of one of the family member seem to think it was ok to cause a major incident in the hallway with screaming and yelling, waking up the entire floor. The hotel did nothing after security came up twice. So needless to say everyone else was inconvenienced and the hotel seemed like it was no major deal that the rest of the floor had been awake since 4am. Will be rethinking staying there in the future as a member knowing the hotel security did very little during the incident.

We called the property twice to let them know we would be checking in late. The phone rang and rang. No one ever answered. When we got to the hotel that evening, just after 10 PM, there was only one person working the desk, there was a line, and when it was our turn it took the clerk a couple minutes to even look up to acknowledge us. I told her I had called two times and she said she was too busy to answer. That tells me this property is understaffed at the front desk. When she pulled up our reservation, she informed us that the room we reserved (and paid for a month ago) was not available because it was “under construction.” We had reserved a king size bed, and they only had two doubles. We paid a lot of money for that room and weren’t having any of that, and so we asked to speak to the manager. It took another 10 minutes to sort it out, but miraculously they found a room with a king sized bed for us. We will not return to this property.

My family had a great stay at the Richmond Marriott! The parking garage located at E. Marshall and 5th St connects to the hotel via breezeway and is centrally located close to the amenities of downtown. The M Club Lounge in the lobby was a wonderful perk that we enjoyed very much!

One of the reasons we chose the Marriott was the location across the street, connected by a walkway to the Convention Center even though the hotel walkway was closed. The lobby was quite spacious and comfortable. It was nice that so many guests were able to congregate in the lobby during the evening without getting rowdy or out of control. We were excited to have MClub privileges however, it seemed that EVERYONE had access and jumped on the few hors d'oeuvres that were available. Most guests just ordered food from Valentino's which was delicious and highly recommended.The free water in the MClub came in handy since it was about 100 degrees with extreme humidity. The service was extremely accomodating, giving us late checkout since my husband was feeling ill. We are Bonvoy members so that may have something to do with it. The room was standard king with pullout sofa, nothing extra special. Our first night, the shower had only scalding hot water from the main showerhead. We were able to use the wand to adjust the water temperature without burning ourselves. Once we figured that out, it was a wonderful, clean shower. The next day it was much better. Overall, it was a decent hotel that I would stay at again mainly because I know what I'm getting ahead of time. I felt safe and there were no bedbugs.

Excellent facility, connected to public parking and the Convention Center by skywalks. Every staff member has been informative and helpful. Restaurant was great for lunch and several others were within walking distance. So far, win-win.

I usually stay at the Marriott when in Richmond for shows at the National Theater since it's such a short walk up the block. The hotel and the area immediately around it are great. Start to get more than a few blocks away from the hotel toward downtown and some of the areas are a bit seedy so I will forewarn you if you want to wander around at night. It is definitely my go to place when in the area of the convention center or The National.

Excellent restaurant, attentive and professional staff. Fabulous food.Room was clean and comforable. Valet staff were welcoming and efficient. Club M was convenient for 24/7 amenities, and the included breakfast was beautifully arranged and attended to. Convention hotel meant it was busy and noisy in the lobby, but that is only a reference to this genre, it is NOT a boutique hotel.

The Richmond Marriott is a very nice place to stay. Every single staff member was kind and helpful. The place is comfortable, beautiful and clean. The restaurant is incredible! The food was SO good. Will definitely stay here again.

Large convention-style hotel, but fairly quiet in terms of hotel and outside noise (see fan noise comment following). Room was very clean but spartan. Only one comfortable chair. Loud A/C fan which we weren't able to turn off. A/C controls were nonobvious. Hotel sent up housekeeping staff quickly when requested who did turn off A/C fan. Hotel has automatic shade system but like A/C no explanation on use (ultimately I was able to use and it worked well). Front desk and other staff very friendly. Restaurant was very busy. Food seemed above average for hotel of this type. On arrival and for at least several hours, sign-in to Wi-Fi was not working (Note: Hotel provided 4000 "points" for Wi-Fi and A/C fan inconvenience.) I was in town for graduation and the maid cleaned everyday except for the last day which was strange. The hotel was grossly understaffed and room service took forever. The room service menu options were very limited.

Hotel no longer has a pool, after recent renovation. Also shuttle only runs from 7pm to midnight. Biggest issues are that during a convention weekend, the restruant and hotel did not have enough staff. Restruant also lacked anything except half and half for coffee, No Milk, or milk alternatives.

Valet Parking: I stayed at the hotel for two (2) nights and utilized Valet Parking, which offered in-out privileges. I was texted a link to retrieve my vehicle when ready, and it worked fairly well. When I returned the vehicle a second time, I was not resent another link. I went to retrieve it a second time using the same link, but it was inoperable. I think it would be a better option to use txt features for your vehicle, instead of the link -unless you can use the link for multiple days instead of having to receive a new txt link each time you return the vehicle to Valet during your stay. Bedding: The mattresses are hard. They are not very comfortable if you are not used to sleeping on a hard mattress. Restaurant (FL Restaurant): Limited Selections, if you choose to dine there. Breakfast was satisfactory.
