We checked in after 3pm and went to room and it wasn't ready . Mattresses were terrible. I asked cleaning girl if there were better mattresses and she said NO. Hot tubs were both down. Pool needed water. Coffee was $7 a cup. Terrible experience.

Shower drain was clogged. Reported it 2 times and nobody came to fix it. Asked for Kleenex as well and that was never delivered. Quiet.

we went a little beyond our normal hotel stays and booked a queen suite; we were not disappointed. The room was huge, having a separate bedroom made it very comfortable. The large counter in the bathroom was very helpful. Staff was very friendly and helpful, check-in and out were easy. The grounds were clean and well maintained with a courtyard and fire pit out back. The lobby/bar/restaurant area was huge and very nice. It's about a mile on foot to downtown Lake Placid (uphill) so think hard before trying. We would strongly recommend this facility and will stay here again.

The problems started when the very nice individual at the check in desk informed that because my reservation was through a “third party” AKA Expedia/Hotels.com that the Marriott Bonvoy “system” wasn’t allowing him to check me in. After some computer gymnastics the room was ultimately made available. Perhaps the CEO of Expedia and the CEO of Marriott ought to meet and work out their differences. It seems a symbiotic relationship, may they should sprinkle some water on it and see if grows. Sadly, the hotel has started to show signs of wear and tear. Not surprising, no doubt once the winter hockey and skiing schedules take full flower the place takes a beating. One or two Pee Wee hockey teams can be rough on a hotel. do that for 5 months, and well you get the picture. Equally sad the little village of Lake Placid has gotten what it wanted after the 1980 Olympics, a busy honky tonk town full of meaningless stores and marginal restaurants all of which are expensive for the average family. That said, despite the Adirondack Park Agency’s best efforts, the Adirondacks are still an awesome sight in all weathers.

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in all my years of travel. When I checked in, the room was not made from the previous guest. There was the previous guest's hair still on the sheets and only one pillow. I ended up getting new sheets from the front and had to change them myself. I did not know Marriot had a self serve service. The room was beside an exit door and we heard it banging all night. Spiders all over the bathroom, the room stunk, the breakfast was terrible and frankly its a disgrace that Marriot attaches its name to this establishment. Received a partial refund, but not good enough.
